4541  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Pywallet: manage your wallets/addresses/keys/tx's on: April 11, 2013, 12:42:05 PM
I had read about that but somehow I got the impression that I would lose the transactions stored in the wallet. I am totally and utterly wrong, no? Smiley
It's true that you'll lose the transactions but a rescan is rather quick, isn't it?

Yeah that did it, thank you! The second dump shows an unhandled exception without any additional info:
Yeah it happens sometimes. I didn't look at this matter closely as it doesn't seem serious.
4542  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Pywallet: manage your wallets/addresses/keys/tx's on: April 11, 2013, 09:56:17 AM
Wow what the actual fuck?

Well, first things first
I'd be happy to be able to --dumpwallet into a file, edit that file and then --importdump or something like that.
You can: this then that

About your "reserve" finding: I think it was 1 before, then 0 after
If so, the 'delete' function deleted the address from the pool, hence the 1 key deleted

But I just found the problem!
Line 1782: change 'if type == "key":' to 'if type == "key" or type == "ckey":'
Must do the trick
4543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Windows Critical Update- Deleted My Wallet And Keys- How To Recover? on: April 11, 2013, 09:09:02 AM
Pywallet reads the bytes of HDDs to find private key headers
I may help you to use it once the dump of your HDD is done

I develop the UI if you want me to but I am not a programmer  Wink Grin
Do you know HTML/CSS? That's all I need  Grin

I may "wrongly" understand, but this article points is about the difficulty to prove the fairness of a shuffling (ie proving the randomness)
So afaiu it doesn't apply to my game because I intend to prove that the player played what I display

div#fdiv{
background: white;
}
Thanks! I didn't notice that on my large screen
4548  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Pywallet: manage your wallets/addresses/keys/tx's on: April 10, 2013, 09:12:16 PM
I'm sorry but I can't reproduce your problem
Check that:
  • you have the last version of pywallet (should be 1.9.3 or 1.9.4)
  • pywallet returns "key:1Pc6N7aDoxxxxxxx has been successfully deleted from /home/xxx/.bitcoin/wallet.dat, resulting in 2 deleted items"
  • you're dumping the wallet that from which you deleted a key (already said I know)

Btw, it's slower than expected but the new version isn't forgotten, I'm working on it
4549  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Pywallet: manage your wallets/addresses/keys/tx's on: April 10, 2013, 02:08:49 PM
Did you put the bitcoin address? (Not pub key nor priv key)
Are you sure you delete from, and dump the same wallet?
4550  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Cryptographic rock-paper-scissors on: April 10, 2013, 11:55:58 AM
Thank you!

I'd like to make a nice UI but I lack artistic feelings... If anyone has an idea of what it should look like please tell me
Tell me all the comments you have about UI/gameplay/etc

4552  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Cancelling unconfirmed transactions on: April 10, 2013, 07:03:25 AM
You can delete transactions from your wallet
You can also export all your private keys to a CSV file, then import them all in a clean wallet
Both can be done by pywallet
4553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to do wallet rescan? on: April 09, 2013, 11:10:51 PM
When you run the client, you run 'bitcoin-qt' (it may be in a shorcut in windows)
Replace that by 'bitcoin-qt -rescan'
4554  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project idea: a better Bets of Bitcoin on: April 09, 2013, 09:41:19 PM
Wow great! I looked for something like this but never found it
It's enough for me
4555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Where does the change go? on: April 09, 2013, 09:29:33 PM
You can always get your private keys, even the pool ones
I'm not sure the satoshi client allows this, but at least pywallet can do that
4556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Where does the change go? on: April 09, 2013, 09:03:09 PM
This was proposed many times
This was refused many times too

True
I was wondering about the people who saw that this thread contained only links. Then BAM!
(it's true they're enough warned with 18+ only)
4559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Where does the change go? on: April 09, 2013, 08:37:09 PM
The third address is in your wallet (in the "pool"), but hidden
Yes you control it, and before you ask, yes it's VERY misleading
4560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to do wallet rescan? on: April 09, 2013, 08:31:06 PM
bitcoin-qt -rescan
