461  Economy / Economics / Re: Paying my staff in BTC -- effects? on: September 19, 2011, 07:36:33 PM
Considering there is no transaction fee you could pay them every day/week which would mitigate issue at least partially.

469  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Perfect pool on: September 17, 2011, 02:35:20 PM
"paying out transaction fees" - what do you mean by that?

pools typically keep the 0-2 btc that are attached to a block for transaction fees, usually this is minuscule though....but in the future this will be the primary method for miners to make btc

Just curious, what's the max stable hash rate you have been able to get out of these cards?

474  Economy / Economics / Re: Why a drop to about $2/coin will be good for bitcoins on: September 13, 2011, 05:20:03 PM
Clearly you dont understand bitcoin

  • mining has a purpose >.<
  • price is irrelevant to the end user except for price stability which is a different thing
  • in order for the market cap to increase the price of bitcoin has to increase, which is good for miners, investors, currency exchangers, and bitcoins in general, good press really, who is it bad for? People with a low iq that dont understand decimals...anyonelse??
  • // end thread //

It might be legal? I've recieved beer in the mail before here in the US, I'm not sure the laws on customs but I don't think they will care about one bottle. How much is shipping to the US? Wiki says its available in the US looks like good stuff.

Depends on the state

478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Double Spend attack on Namecoins!!! Start mining now to save Namecoin!!! on: September 12, 2011, 10:01:25 PM
Good for them!

I hope they develop a "lethal alt chain killer" -- that'll show those wannabes who take the Bitcoin source, give it a new name, recompile it and start their own blockchain.

Any Bitcoin spinoff that is worthy of attention will have enough compelling reasons for its existence, and enough support, that it won't have to worry.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that SUCH A CHAIN WILL NOT COME OUT until after Bitcoin is dying or dead. You can't have two viable chains at this point in history. There are simply not enough miners and ESPECIALLY not enough end-users.

Matthew

ya i sorta agree with you for once surprisingly...I0/Ix/SC has been a blight on bitcoin

but namecoin is a good project, hopefully once this is over it will survive
