why do 90% of all the other projects never get out of the planning stage? Because talking is cheap and everybody can do it while doing it for real job is quite difficult Maybe it can become an open source project? Has anyone drawn up any designs? I would like to see this happen. I was working on this very early on, but got fired because I was lazy, so I don't know how far this got, but I know kokjo stayed with it for a while. Maybe he still has some parts of the project?

It wasn't closed source when it first started. I know they closed the source for a while, but I believe it's open source again now. Correct me if I'm wrong. I haven't been hanging out in #solidcoin lately.

I sent .01 BTC to someone almost 24 hours ago, and it still has yet to be confirmed. Did I do something wrong, or is this a bug?

I've been feeling like I need to do something to help the BTC community lately so I started thinking about a lot of projects I could start. Then I thought, rather than making something I think the community needs, why don't I make something the community thinks they need? So, I want you to tell me what kind of websites/programs you'd like to see developed. I specialize in live web applications, but I can program almost anything you can think of with a little time. I also specialize in not being anonymous. I can give out my address/phone number upon request, and my real name is Ryland Taylor-Almanza. This would be good for things like exchanges, because if I screwed up, you'd know how to find me. One thing I don't specialize in is being over seventeen years old. This would be bad for things like exchanges. Who wants a teenager dealing with their money? (I probably wouldn't want to develop an exchange anyways, as there are many already available.) So, start posting what you'd like to see!

here you are: 1NqkEcycGaK1VVx85D2zm7YGYtYtya5DPw Sent. Sorry it took so long. Had some trouble with my client today.

Lol, this is really weird, but I'm not complaining.

How might I go about importing a private key into my multibit wallet?
|
|

Neither of those addresses are valid according to my bitcoind: $ bitcoind validateaddress 1AYSPTVt8WytG12Kz9guUpXjwAMFZG9CJh { "isvalid" : false } $ bitcoind validateaddress 1AYSPTVt8WytG12Kz9guUpXjeAMFb7AX2K { "isvalid" : false }
The checksum in addresses is 4 bytes, so there is a one-in-four-billion chance that a random typo would get you a valid address. Not sure I understand. If they aren't valid, why are they in the block explorer?

Seriously unlucky if true. Please share the correct and incorrect address. Seriously unlucky? Why's that? Correct: 1AYSPTVt8WytG12Kz9guUpXjwAMFZG9CJhIncorrect: 1AYSPTVt8WytG12Kz9guUpXjeAMFb7AX2KAfter looking thorougly at both addresses, looks like I accidentally took the end of one address in my addressbook, and used it in the end of the incorrect address. Silly me. Wait a second. Just figured something out. I'm absolutely sure I typed in that last part correct now that I think back. I remember typing in 9CJh at the end. I think I messed up where the "e" is supposed to be a "w" and my client must've tried to correct it! I'm using the electrum client. I'll talk to the developer about this.

Seriously unlucky because the way the adresses are generated, means that a random error being valid is VERY, VERY, VERY unlikely.
Even if you mashup 2 adresses at a random point, this is unlikely. You have a ungodly amount of bad luck...
Really? I wasn't aware of that. Wow.

Well, I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. I was trying to send some btc to a newly generated address so that I could memorize the private key, and then have my BTC in my brain. My clients copy paste function wasn't working correctly, so I decided to type the address in manually. I was lazy, so I didn't double check the address. at least it was only .25 BTC. Just thought I'd share my story with you guys. Moral: If you ever manually type an address, double check it.

The man: "God, how long is a million years?" God: "To me, it's about a minute." The man: "God, how much is a million dollars?" God: "To me it's a penny." The man: "God, may I have a penny?" God: "Wait a minute."
I actually liked that one. Send me an address and I give you a bitcent.

Oh, this is the newbie board. I'm a newb, I promise!

What happened to it? I was really excited for it!
why do 90% of all the other projects never get out of the planning stage? Because I was lazy at the time, and didn't do my work? lol

As for the QR code thing, I'm using a 1x quiet area on my basic designs and they seem to scan fine. I suppose going a little larger wouldn't hurt though.
I would keep it how it is. Been scanning fine for me. I'm not an expert on qr codes, though, lol.

I like it. Gonna' make one for myself, lol. If you make some good looking final drafts, I'll buy from you.

ok, thanks to RylandAlmanza for reporting that bug. I just released version 0.25, where it should be fixed. Changelog: * client asks for a new session after creating a change address * command-line options (will document them later)
Nice work!
