4641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊[Boxing] Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Junior [PPV on Nov. 28] on: November 27, 2020, 03:31:02 AM
2 days left!

Pay-per-view to watch Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Junior live will be $49.99, and there are some strange rules surrounding this fight, and there will be no official judges for this fight.
Latest interview Mike Tyson did with Ariel Helwani for ESPN:
https://youtu.be/LuzGx3VLa4E

Will just wait for the free streaming of this match.  Tongue But excited to see how they will perform inside the ring. I've read an article why this fight could be the most boring fight ever. As this is just an exhibition fight only, we will not see the regular boxing rules applied on this event.

https://www.essentiallysports.com/boxing-news-mike-tyson-vs-roy-jones-jr-could-be-the-most-boring-fight-ever-heres-why/

1. no knockouts
2. 2-minute rounds not the regular 3-min rounds
3. wear 12-ounce gloves

How will the California State Athletic Commission enforce no knockouts? The referee certainly cannot predict the fighters moves.

Another rule to add. No biting hehehehe.

@mikeywith. Were there mining contracts that made some small holders some profit? I am sorry for my bias against the service, however, I have only seen many complaints from users and the contract issuers stop the service.

What are your personal experiences on mining contracts and what were the profitable contracts?
4643  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-11-25] Head of SEC named the reason for the rise in the price of Bitcoin on: November 27, 2020, 02:47:04 AM
@stompix. I am not ruining it for everyone, I am only giving everyone another frame of reference. Everyone appears to have been misled by bitcoin news media that Michael Saylor, our new hero, has brought back the bull market.

Also, everyone should know that Michael Saylor owns a company on data analytics. I speculate blockchain analytics on bitcoin will be his next project. He will not be bitcoin's hero.

There was a change in the game's schedule for Thursday?

In any case, yes Redskins go hehehe! When was the last time they reached the playoffs?

@morvillz7z. Where do you get your game statistics, news and other analysis? I want to learn how to not give more coins to the sportsbook hehehehe.

Also, what are the statistics that I should be studying first?
4645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊[Boxing] Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Junior [PPV on Nov. 28] on: November 26, 2020, 06:37:35 AM
Did anyone in this thread bet on this fight? What sportsbooks have this and how can they determine the winner? Only by knockout?
I think Betnomi have and there's only two options "Money line" and "Bout betting" if there's now winner announce then how they will determine the winner on the moneyline?

I might be wrong. It might be the fight will have a winner, however only in the record of the California State Athletic Commission, this will not be officially a professional fight and will not have an official winner. This will be listed only as an exhibition fight but there will be a winner.

This was also another exhibition fight.

4646  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-11-25] Head of SEC named the reason for the rise in the price of Bitcoin on: November 26, 2020, 05:50:46 AM
Just goes to show little attention he's paying. Hardly anyone's interested in it as a payment mechanism. Most people see it as a dollar extracting mechanism.

The US is uniquely shit when it comes to banking, I get the impression sending money for a goat in Somalia works better, but much of the rest of the world has conventional payment mechanisms that are instant and free.

He might be holding bitcoin already and ready to preach the maximalist words hehehe.

In any case, agreed! He also ignored or he might be unfamiliar to the speculation that Tether, iFinex is loaning out USDT that might be the real reason for the pump.
4647  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin bullrun and correction period on: November 26, 2020, 05:16:43 AM
If Tether can't make good on their fiat withdrawal obligations, USDT will unpeg from the dollar. Until that happens, it's useless to speculate like this.

As far as we know Tether never printed any unbacked USDT. Crypto Capital got taken down by police while they were holding Bitfinex's money, then Tether loaned money to Bitfinex to plug the resulting hole. They couldn't just burn USDT to account for the losses because most of the supply wasn't held by Tether, it was held by USDT holders. That doesn't suggest they are printing USDT without backing now.

If you're willing to research the subject, there is a massive market in China, and to a lesser extent Russia, for USDT to avoid capital controls and for cross border remittance. This has created extremely robust liquidity in the OTC Bitcoin and USDT markets in China, which tends to be self-reinforcing. That's why Huobi has the 2nd biggest BTC holdings of any exchange in the world, even though we barely pay attention to them in the west. The Chinese market is massive.

However, look at the graph, who is redeeming? There is only printing and issuing. Do you really think all the $18 billion in tether is backed by dollars?

I don't think they're printing anything out of thin air, no. I've honestly never seen anything to suggest that. None of the FUD or statistical analysis has been convincing. I'm also a very big believer in markets. As long as the dollar peg remains, it's useless to speculate about inability to pay their obligations.

I also expect that Coinbase's fiat holdings are exponentially larger than they were a couple years ago, same as Tether. Do I think that means Coinbase is "printing" USD or USDC? No. Wink

Whether it's smart to have large exposure to Tether's counterparty risk is another matter entirely. I would be cautious with that. I do think regulators are watching them closely and are possibly waiting to pounce on their bank accounts.

If you also are willing to research the subject, where are the audits?

Tether made it clear a couple years ago that none of the professional auditing firms will go anywhere near them.

This might only be nothing, however where are the audits? Also, why are they not submitting the documents requested by the New York supreme court?

Your comparison of Tether and Coinbase does not prove that iFinex, Tether, Bitfinex do not print USDT that are presently only backed by loans.

Did Paolo Ardoino said that?
4648  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Viabtc Cloud Mining, read before you buy. on: November 26, 2020, 04:08:43 AM
Also, if the miners behind Viabtc were profitable, they certainly would not sell contracts. If this was not a scam, they want the contract holders to be the holders of risk hehehe.

In the leadup to the bout there has been some confusion about the rules and regulations approved by the California State Athletic Commission so executive director Andy Foster spoke to MMA Fighting to confirm details surrounding the Tyson vs. Jones Jr. bout.

“Let’s call it an exhibition. That’s what it is,” Foster said. “I want the public to know what this is because I don’t want people to be disappointed.

“There’s no official judges,” Foster clarified. “The WBC is going to have some guest celebrity judges remotely, not official, not 10-9 [scores], nothing like that. No cumulative score. No winner announced.

“That’s a very entertainment centered thing. It’s about entertainment. It’s not about competition.”

Agreed. I was only giving Ciphertrace the benefit as an example for the cat and mouse argument hehe. Also, assuming that they find a hole, thank you. The development team will patch it and fix similar to other software development for different projects.

@Termie
I'll quote 2 sentences from this article (https://decrypt.co/49182/ciphertrace-files-patents-for-tech-that-traces-monero-transactions), the impact is on 2nd.  Smiley

"But CipherTrace’s patents claim that transactions are entirely traceable.

The patents, however, have not been approved. "

CipherTrace filed their second patent application on Monero tracing techniques.  Nobody can deterministically trace Monero transactions yet.  But this lays the groundwork for meaningful results particularly for tracing large scale thefts & crime
I believe that this whole CipherTrace patent application circus is about milking a cash-cow called US (or any other) government. You know the lines:
" We are about to crack that bad boy Monero, we are in process of obtaining some groundbreaking patents, this is completely new technology, but we NEED more MONEY because all that development costs, you will profit in the long term, bla bla bla..."

Agreed and the Monero developers know that this is only another cat and mouse game. Patches will be released to plug the holes again and Ciphertrace's patents will be useless hehehe. However, I reckon of Ciphertrace is scamming the government, I encourage this hehehehe.
4653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Argentina raises Gambling tax on: November 24, 2020, 03:58:12 AM
@aioc. However, the Argentinian government might also know more about the decision they are doing hehehe. I speculate that online gambling has increased in their country during this pandemic and the government wants their share.

The tax rate increase is from 2% to 5%. This is more than double and I reckon this increase has been studied more deeply than it appears.
4654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: November 24, 2020, 02:46:30 AM
The article also mentioned exchange delistings. This makes my skepticism stronger that their article is for only fud.

The exchanges have delisted privacy centered coins because they do not want to be shut down by local governments for "potentially" harboring criminals from monetary transactions. They also do not want to be held responsible for helping transact dirty crypto used by bad actors. It's all about the CYA aspect of remaining viable as an exchange in order to maintain income for stakeholders.

Ask yourself, why do so many non-USA exchanges not allow or even IP block NA retail traders? That AML/KYC is a B.

Yes, clearly the issue is about compliance. There is a paper written by a group of lawyers and it argues that anonymous and privacy enabled coins' features should be kept, can be listed and still be compliant.

https://www.perkinscoie.com/images/content/2/3/v7/237411/Perkins-Coie-LLP-White-Paper-AML-Regulation-of-Privacy-enablin.pdf

In any case, transaction privacy will be an important issue in the next years to come in the cryptspace. Michael Saylor, who has a large economic interest on bitcoin, might be next popular figure to declare more tranparency and blockchain analysis is good to protect his investment.

4655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: November 24, 2020, 01:45:59 AM
I am very excited and not very shocked. I knew there was a chance that she might come back. She is not done with the cryptospace and the cryptospace is not yet done with her. She has more wisdom and love to share to us.

She did not mention Aeon, however. I hope she did not forget. Sad
4656  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin bullrun and correction period on: November 24, 2020, 12:17:35 AM
That argument is similar to what Kraken exchange explained during 2017 and it is correct. I also fought for that argument. However, it was also during the times when 1 USDT was backed by $1.00. After relieving themselves of audits and attestations, it is hard to reject that iFinex, Tether are printing USDT with only the loans from exchanges as the backing.

However, look at the graph, who is redeeming? There is only printing and issuing. Do you really think all the $18 billion in tether is backed by dollars?

I reckon before they relieved themselves from their auditors, tether was backed by 100% dollars. However, after removing the statement that all USDT is backed by USD and removed audits, it cannot be trusted. They are operating like a bank without regulation.

If you also are willing to research the subject, where are the audits?

Nice win for the Colts in OT, they were close of winning it in regulation by completing a second-half comeback, just like their buddies (Titans) from AFC South did earlier today. So many holding penalties in the final 2 and half minutes though, i thought they were going to run the clock down after that gutsy 4th and 4 completion, still more penalties. Titans/Colts play next weekend, should be a good one.

Big thanks to Wentz for helping me win two of my matchups this week (i was streaming Browns defense - 20pts right there), pick-six, safety, another interception...my guy!  Cheesy

Also the Cowboys win was nice hehe. I am quite certain the Vikings fans thought they had the win before that run on the 4th quarter for Cowboys.

All teams for the NFC east all in for a chance in the playoff hehehehe. I want the Redskins.
4658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: November 23, 2020, 03:48:56 AM
@bigslimvdub. It was a joke hehe. I know she has ridden her horse to the sunset and will never return.

In any case, I reckon many people in the community think that she is bankrupt because she is an Uber driver. This is what she wants the IRS to believe hehehehe.
4659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: November 23, 2020, 02:30:36 AM
Personally, I'm so upset with the Ethereum movement. I genuinely think ETH is lagging in price. Bitcoin is at $17,000 so Ether used to be at $800~850 range, yet now it's beneath $500 USD. Do you folks think everything is heading a better position? Any thoughts?

Ethereum has crossed 500$ today and i am sure it will break its all time high once we will be near the launch of Ethereum 2.0.  I have heard that the launch of Eth 2.0 is delayed again. Can anyone confirm the new date of the launch ?
https://launchpad.ethereum.org/
Keep a close eye on these statistics. As soon as the required amount and the required number of validators are collected, Ethereum 2.0 will be launched.
Vitalik has not given exact dates for a long time, but it is already clear that the planned launch for December 1 will be postponed.
Come here more often for new information Smiley

This was expected. Another news to add in the Eth2 delays thread hehehe. The Ethereum Foundation must prepare the bath before the whales follow. Why would the whales be the first people in risking their coins converted to another coin that they cannot sell in exchanges unless their agenda is to have influential control on Eth2?
4660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: November 23, 2020, 01:29:23 AM
@Termie. Ciphertrace has patents to claims that they have created the technology to trace transactions in the Monero blockchain hehe. Also, cryptocoin privacy is a cat and mouse game. The development team of Monero will cover all holes Ciphertrace opens and this will occur back and forth.

The article also mentioned exchange delistings. This makes my skepticism stronger that their article is for only fud.
