5501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: March 19, 2020, 01:36:26 AM
Grin is one of theymos' infinity coins for the cryptospace infinity wallet. He holds bitcoin, monero, grin. He needs 3 coins more to complete and bring the bullmarket back to us hehehe.
5502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] COVID-19 Hits Ethereum Community Conference, Six People Test Positive on: March 18, 2020, 01:52:44 AM
@bitgolden. It is also the community members' fault for attending. I reckon that the younger ones of them might think that it would be ok to catch the coronavirus because they will recover from it. However, their selfishness will cause them to be contagious to the older and weaker people around them.

This is a testament that mass gatherings are really not advisable in these days. They thought that they can take care of themselves, but the problem is when they infect other people. And it continues to infect others. And the major problem right now, is that the vaccine is still in trial condition. We don't know how many months do we need to wait before they release it commercially. And by that time, a lot of people are already infected.

It might be years for a commercially good vaccine that has very minimum side effects. I reckon that the companies that create them would sell the first batches of commercial coronavirus vaccines on 3rd world countries and use their people as the test guinea pigs.
5503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Doomed ? on: March 18, 2020, 01:28:48 AM
Bitcoin is not doomed, however, the free cryptospace we knew from before might be doomed. Prepare for more stricter regulations and invasion of privacy. All users and exchanges might not be safe except for the friends of Coinbase hehehehe.

This article made it appear to be good news, however.

US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin Appoints Coinbase Chief Legal Officer to Oversee Banking System

Brooks will assume his new role, effective April 1, 2020, after having served as Coinbase’s chief legal officer since September of 2018. Brooks is also a former Fannie Mae executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Joseph Otting will step down as the current Comptroller of the Currency.

5504  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-03-09] Bitcoin Hashrate, Mining Difficulty Hit New Highs Inefficient Miner on: March 18, 2020, 12:45:11 AM
Are the miners creating profit on bitcoin's present price? They might not be and it is certain to be halved on May. How long does everyone speculate that this healthy hashrate can be maintained by the miners?
5505  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-03-13] Despite Bitcoin Price Dips, Crypto Is a Safe Haven in the Middle Ea on: March 18, 2020, 12:27:16 AM
@Jating. I would assume that the people who tell everyone that 1BTC = 1BTC consider it a currency and not a speculative investment. Ok, however, 1 bitcoin can buy lesser toilet paper, disinfectant soaps and hand sanitizers than when they bought bitcoin on $16k - $20k on December 2017.

Would you consider this as a safe haven?

Hmmm, 1 roll of toilet paper = 1 roll of toilet paper, thus, toilet paper is a safe heaven. But 1 bottle of sanitizer=1 bottle of sanitizer, so sanitizers are safe heaven.
Wait, we can extend this bs theory to everything!!!  Grin Grin Grin

Everything to also 1 scam ICO token = 1 scam ICO token?

@Betwrong. I reckon it presently appears to be a matter of speculation hehehe.

@hv_. There are safe havens. They are protected by large military forces supported and paid for by the people that use them.
5506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas closes casinos and hotels in lieu of coronavirus on: March 17, 2020, 05:18:13 AM
The boomer doomer virus is blown way out of proportion..

I think something else is going on behind the scenes and this virus is a distraction of some type.

How feeling very superior of you to say this. Why don't you tell that to the people of Italy who lost family because of the coronavirus.

Agreed. However, listening to theymos and considering his experience and wisdom on the cryptospace was part of my own research hehehe.

5509  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-03-13] Despite Bitcoin Price Dips, Crypto Is a Safe Haven in the Middle Ea on: March 17, 2020, 02:28:44 AM
@Betwrong. I agree, however, the safest relatively stable asset might be the United States Dollar. Someone make an attempt to destabilize it. The destabilizer would certainly feel the anger of the mightiest military force on earth hehehe.
5510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] COVID-19 Hits Ethereum Community Conference, Six People Test Positive on: March 16, 2020, 04:15:17 AM
It's ignorance, from where I'm from some people thinks they are kinda bulletproof to the virus, they claim they can't caught the disease by any means possible

Agreed. Italy is the very example of people who have underestimated the pandemic until it has become too late to stop it. I reckon that there might be some hospitals that are already overwhelmed and might have to choose which patients live and which die. The old might be the sacrifice.

5512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON: Cryptonote privacy, efficiency, decentralization, and stability on: March 16, 2020, 01:36:32 AM
@wavessurfing. She is American.

@jwinterm. Agreed. I reckon checking the activity on this thread might be a good price predictor for Aeon hehehe. Higher activity from not bagholders, the price might pump hehehehe.
5513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: March 16, 2020, 12:58:39 AM
@Cryptotourist. theymos has been in the cryptospace from the beginning. He has the wisdom and the experience. We should always listen to what he has to say despite that we might not agree with some of them.
5514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [NEWS] COVID-19 Hits Ethereum Community Conference, Six People Test Positive on: March 15, 2020, 04:20:32 AM
This is very irresponsible of the conference organizers and the Parisian Ethereum community. It might have been ok to give them excuse if the conference was on January or February. However, on March, it is a certainty that all conferences and mass gatherings should be declared dangerous.

Users are reporting that they are testing positive for COVID-19 after attending the Ethereum Community Conference. The conference, held in Paris between March 3 through March 5, had a sizable crowd in attendance. Those with symptoms are advised to self-isolate and get themselves tested.

5515  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-03-13] Despite Bitcoin Price Dips, Crypto Is a Safe Haven in the Middle Ea on: March 15, 2020, 03:53:45 AM
That is what they all say until they have reached a point of capitulation and begin to sell in panic themselves hehehe. I reckon many of the safe haven buyers of December 2017 might be stressed in all of their years holding bitcoin. They know their money would have grown in value holding something else.

Well, we are in a very different situation now, imo. People who were buying BTC in December 2017 were buying at the top, and today we at the bottom, don't you think?

If it's not the "end of Bitcoin", declared so many times before, those Middle East guys have a point in calling Bitcoin a safe-haven asset.

No one said that it is the end of bitcoin, however, calling it a safe haven asset if everyone is really using it as a speculative investment similar to stocks is wrong. Your money is not safe if you get only half of its value of 3 years ago.

Also, agreed! It is a different situation. The investors who bought the top on 2017 are in a worse situation hehehe.
5516  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-03-06] Bitcoin is 'digital gold,' says Finder co-founder on: March 15, 2020, 03:35:05 AM
@hv_. Is that the higher form of the bitcoin maximalist purity test hehehe? In any case, you are welcome to hold on to your coin religious beliefs while the rest of us will continue supporting development and progress on the cryptospace.

If you mean the 'religion' of honest money and stable financial protocol- you are welcome.

I wish just more had the real hands on experience on coding against (financial) global protocols.

Not really a religion

You tell everyone that it is not a religion, however, you subject all people under a purity test. Also, none of what you have told us answered the argument.

5517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: March 15, 2020, 02:36:43 AM
@Cryptotourist. All respect should go to theymos. I was only following his $0.50 prediction for Grin hehehe. However, it was already clear for me that it will occur because of the monetary policy. We cannot expect miners to hold a cryptocoin that has unlimited supply. It plainly will not have value in Grin's present condition.
5518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: March 14, 2020, 02:55:52 AM
I speculate the NBA commisioner will declare that the regular season will not be played in full to let the playoffs begin on time. The present top 8 on each conference might be the top 8 by the end of the regular season with only a small difference on the bottom 2.
I doubt that would happen, other teams will certainly complain, that's unfair especially those who still have a chance but are out in the playoff picture now.
I am still in favor of extending the period, rather than cutting to still stay on schedule but would sacrifice lower seed chances to qualify.

However, what about if the lockdowns and the mass gathering bans continue until on May or June? It would certainly be very hard to continue the playoffs in full without cancelling some games on the regular season.
5519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON: Cryptonote privacy, efficiency, decentralization, and stability on: March 14, 2020, 01:31:15 AM
@jwinterm. I reckon many of the oldtime bagholders have already dumped and begun doing something else with their lives. americanpegasus has sold, became an Uber driver and declared herself to be in debt. She might only be doing it to avoid the IRS hehehehe.
