5461  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [2019-02-06] Locked bitcoins in QuadrigaCX might be another exit scam. on: March 30, 2020, 02:08:02 AM
I don't see this as a bad thing for the users of QuadrigaCX. The company is just giving already known information from this users to a different department and even if they have found something like discrepancies in their earnings I don't think they can be used against them. For one the money is earned from that exchange is already lost and two they can't use evidence or even they found out something new with that information as evidence against you as it is inadmissible in the court of law. So really what I'm seeing now is either they are delaying the case or they are just throwing trash to their taxing department which isn't really new on court cases.

This is the type of reaction that bring users in trouble, I reckon. It can and will be used against you. Also, whatever can go wrong, will go wrong. It will also not be the first time.
5462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ripple ever reach $5 ? on: March 29, 2020, 04:51:22 AM
@BayAreaCoins. Agreed. However it is the business people behind this centralized project that made it a marketing scam. I reckon the developers of Ripple should hardfork to continue its development as a real open source project.

Lawsuit Alleges Ripple CEO ‘Dumped’ 67,000,000 XRP for Cash and Other Cryptocurrency in 2017

According to the lawsuit, which alleges Ripple has sold XRP as an unregistered security since 2013, Garlinghouse publicly stated he was “very, very, very long” on XRP in 2017 while selling large portions of the crypto asset.

“Garlinghouse’s representation that he remained ‘very, very, very long XRP’ and was ‘on the HODL side’—holding XRP for long term gains—was false when made as throughout 2017 Garlinghouse sold millions of XRP on various cryptocurrency exchanges.

5463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is KYC bad for crypto? on: March 29, 2020, 03:49:08 AM
Kyc is actually not bad for crypto as it helps in curbing fraudulent activities on the space. However it is always necessary for those asking for kyc documents to protect these docs in the best interest of their users to avoid these documents leaking to a third party.

However, exchanges are not doing it in the best interest of the user. They are doing it only to be compliant. Also, your private and personal information are not safe. They are usually sold to 3rd parties for profit as normal practice. They also might give them to a demanding government.
5464  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [2019-02-06] Locked bitcoins in QuadrigaCX might be another exit scam. on: March 29, 2020, 03:26:15 AM
News update.

It appears that another lesson was learned that we should not readily give our personal and private information to exchanges and other cryptocoin services.

QuadrigaCX users, you should await a visit from the the tax collectors hehehehe.

One of the biggest fears of cryptocurrency traders is losing control of their personal information. And that fear has become a reality for QuadrigaCX former users.

Ernst & Young, the trustee overseeing the bankruptcy case for the failed Canadian crypto exchange, will be turning over all of Quadriga’s user info and data to the country’s tax collector.

5466  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tone Vays Stands by $4K Bitcoin Price Pre-Halving Prediction on: March 28, 2020, 01:40:27 AM
@malevolent. However, Toner Vays might have begun his secret investigation on the coronavirus before he made his prediction. I speculate that he might have friends from the Chinese trading and mining community that give him news and updates.
5467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Did Binance just help Justin Sun take over the Steem network? on: March 28, 2020, 12:56:18 AM
@smooth. I speculate Justin's quietness about this matter is a sign of danger coming. He might be talking to his lawyers to begin a lawsuit versus the witnesses.

Whoever might win the case would certainly take the cryptospace on a significant turn for better or worse.
5468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: March 27, 2020, 04:11:34 AM
Another bad news from the NBA, KAT is now also infected, why is it most NBA stars were getting infected by the virus?
With this new cases in the organization, I doubt the management would still push to resume the season soon.

The skpetical me. There might be a conspiracy to control global public panic through the use of famous celebrities and athletes to pretend that they have the coronavirus and show that they are ok. This virus might be more deadly than what the authorities tell us, I reckon.
5469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [NEWS] A new Ethereum 2.0 audit highlighted potential security vulnerabilities on: March 27, 2020, 03:41:49 AM
This will be another cause on why Ethereum 2.0 might be delayed. Security vulnerabilites. Ethereum developers were never the best in securing their systems by producing secure code. The Dao had investors' millions of dollars stolen and the Parity bug had millions of dollars frozen.

An audit of the ETH 2.0 specifications highlighted the need to address potential vulnerabilities with the protocol’s peer-to-peer (P2P) networking layer and block proposer system, according to the published findings.

As The Block previously explained, developers would need to implement a major multi-client testnet and run it for at least two months before the Phase 0 mainnet launch can take place. Therefore, it is unlikely that the launch will happen in the upcoming weeks.

5470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 27, 2020, 02:17:24 AM
I speculate that Dana is doing anything to make this fight a certainty on April 18 not because of Ramadan. It might be to clear the road for Conor. I reckon if winner is Khabib, Conor will challenge. However, if winner is El Cucuy, Conor will fight the loser hehehehe.
So bottom line is, Conor will fight Khabib regardless of who will win the fight this April 18. Poor Justin Gaethje if that is the case, he is far more active fighter than Conor who just won the fight last January 19 against Cerrone and now he is the top contender?

Yes because Conor is will create more wealth for Dana and the UFC. However, Conor might fight Justin if Khabib demands to fight only the next challenger on the line which is Justin.

@notblox1. The news article mentioned that there was a bottle of Recuerdo mescal in his car. This is Jorge's fault hehehehe.
5471  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-03-13] Despite Bitcoin Price Dips, Crypto Is a Safe Haven in the Middle Ea on: March 27, 2020, 01:46:07 AM
@hv_. He might, however, his statement is not wrong. He was reasonable. It is also not similar to the old hype of hodl that maximalists like to use on everyone.
5472  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tone Vays Stands by $4K Bitcoin Price Pre-Halving Prediction on: March 26, 2020, 03:21:07 AM
The title of this thread should be changed to Tone Vays, is he only a Tone or a genius? hehehehe. I am reading the replies and I am laughing loudly. It might be the quarantine hehe.

In any case, I also had a similar comment on a different thread like everyone. It appears that we are the joke.
5473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] U.S. Regulators Sue Crypto Startup Telegram Over Initial Coin Offering on: March 26, 2020, 02:55:49 AM
News update.

It appears Telegram will lose their case while EOS and some of the other ICOs were only given a slap on the wrist and were only required to pay a fee to the SEC. A gentle reminder, to invest in an ICO, first information to find is who the investors, the founders behind it are and know if they have the political connections to manipulate the SEC.

I reckon EOS might have those political connections. Dan Larimer's financial sponsors might have political connections that might stretch out as far as China.

New York Federal Judge has decided that the SEC will likely be successful in proving that the Grams ICO was an illegal and unregistered sale of securities.

This preliminary injunction is needed in order to prevent Telegram from giving tokens to initial purchasers. That would lead to Grams tokens being traded on crypto exchanges and would be a further violation of securities laws.

The court case is not technically over, but inevitably Telegram is likely to lose. The standard protocol in these ICO cases is that the ICO issuer has to return all investor’s funds and register as a security. That could open up a major can of worms for Telegram if they don’t have all of the $1.7 billion anymore.

If bitcoin was viewed as an insurance policy or a bet that speculates that the present financial and political mechanisms might shutdown, I reckon this view can be used for bitcoin to be a safe haven.

Chart guru and financial analyst Peter Brandt has commented that assets such as gold and Bitcoin should be viewed as catastrophic insurance policies, not as investments.

IMO, precious metals (#GOLD and $BTC) should be viewed as catastrophic insurance policies — not as investments. A premium is paid, hoping the policy is never needed. But if it is needed, the owner is protected against a worst case scenario. https://t.co/JrMhQe0jIF

5475  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-03-20] Private Italian Bank Enables Bitcoin Trading To Its 1.2 Million... on: March 26, 2020, 01:13:12 AM
Looks like rushed product/service since most likely they're trying to take advantage of COVID-19, i hope their customer service/support will be helpful (especially to new Bitcoiner) since many company's customer service/support become worse due to COVID-19.

Agreed. The skeptical me is thinking that this might be one of many exit mechanisms created for the wealthy and the dirty money to escape capital controls from their country.

Giving people the power to escape capital controls is a good thing so that when the powerful and elite screw things up and then attempt to force everyone else to pay for it, there is an escape hatch.

Politicians like to have mandates and controls without thinking of the consequences.  Things like requiring banks to issue loans to non qualified borrowers etc. Cyprus with its disastrous haircuts to accounts about 7 years ago etc.

Agreed, that is good. However, it is not really for the people. It is for the bank's wealthy friends, criminal syndicates and politicians. Everyone should always be skeptical of the banks. They are not there for you. They are part of the mechanism to control you.
5476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] COVID-19 Hits Ethereum Community Conference, Six People Test Positive on: March 25, 2020, 01:50:32 AM
This is negligence by the organizers. They should've postponed the event prior to the pandemic awareness of the world. It's a global crisis and yet they'd pursued the conference? Who will be blamed if these victims will be added to the mortality rate of this virus?
They can even create an alternative like an online conference which can be attended by those participants. A very bad decision in crisis times like this.

It's hard to blame the organizers, I think it should be the government that will give warning to the people, of implement a law to lock down a place and suspend any forum like this. We will blame the organizers but surely, the organizers will blame the government here.

The organizers do not have an excuse, however. I reckon, before March, other organizers have begun postponing or cancelling their own cryptocoin conferences. This one continued. It was irresponisble.

News Alert! Khabib - Ferguson fight's venue is now 99% set Shocked. Wow! What a great news from Dana. With such statement, we can already confirm that their long awaited fight will happen finally. There's nothing, even the virus, could stop it. Though we can't yet clarify the exact setting and/or there's no audience present, I'm still glad because it will happen for sure Smiley.

5478  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-03-23] Bitcoin will continue to be volatile over the next few months on: March 25, 2020, 12:56:47 AM
When did bitcoin stop its volatility in its whole listed history in exchanges? It would be similar for him to say that he will eat breakfast now then go to the bathroom later hehehe.
5479  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-03-20] Private Italian Bank Enables Bitcoin Trading To Its 1.2 Million... on: March 25, 2020, 12:32:31 AM
Also, why is there a need to treat this similar to a religion? The bank did not join anything. The bank only enabled trading for their customers. We will never see the bank rally like religious fanatics hehehe.

Good news for bitcoin, however.
5480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum in 5 years on: March 24, 2020, 03:41:18 AM
honestly it's hard to predict the next 5 years, friends, it will be easier if in the next 1 year, Ethereum 2.0 should be launched soon, because that's what the community and investors have been waiting for, somehow, whether the price will go up or down, what is certain is the development Ethereum 2.0 will be a beautiful start for the next few years

From the time the OP started this thread, was actually almost 3 years ago come this June. So we are talking about 2 years from now based from the OP's timeline. With the current pandemic that we are experiencing, I don't have idea what will happen to Eth 2.0, but I am sure that the eth development team is working hard on this project. They will not release something that is not useful to many crypto users. So I guess, for the next couple of years, eth is still here and finding ways on how to serve crypto users. Definitely not dead as they have good foundation. Hopefully, Vitalik will launch another groundbreaking concept by that time.

Where is the good foundation, however? Vitalik and his developers created an unscalable platform. That is not a good foundation for the platform that they hyped as the world computer.

I also predict that Vitalik might make the coronavirus as the excuse to delay Eth 2.0 hehehe.
