Is there anything from the architect yet? He closed his twitter down

In my universe his twitter account is active. What I'd like to know is which crypto technology are you using to communicate between quantum realities?

I understand peoples' grief over the current situation. Regardless of Edgar's silence, I still have faith that this is his "baby" and he will do whatever it takes to make this succeed. It seems as though a lot of people need to have their hands held requesting updates daily. However this is a long-term project as made clear from the get-go. Would you rather him be tied to his computer answering questions constantly? Or would you rather him actually work on the project at large?

Truth is, no "CEO's" at this point deserve to be updated daily on the progress being made. We don't have the title yet, we are simply early investors at this point.

Actually this is not true. If a manager can't handle his investors, he will suffer first. I'm sure your Edgar doesn't want people to dump, the coin may not get up again. If he is OK with this, something is wrong.

Man I'd love a personal Edgar.

My apologies for being so vague.

I suggest to start a coin burning program for the coin in order to get trust back. There are some example where coin had success after such a program.

What did you guys cut the number of coins to? 1 billion or less, maybe 500 million, is good if you want the coins to hold value.

There is no trust lost. Everything these developers have done is transparent and documented.

Whats the current state with this coin ?

Not much... dev trolling on the CEO channel, ignoring all requests...

Also, there is a rumor going around saying that the dev lost most of the crowdfund on leverage trading @ Okcoin. That's why there isn't any funding left to continue this project.

There's a rumor going around on BCT that accounts with zero activity are generally sock puppet accounts designed to sway the outcome of events.

Well, take it however you want it. He lost the fundings for this project by leverage trading on Okcoin; hence the push for Portugal 2020 was crucial. Just think about it.

Proof of loss???

Proof of lies. There is no Moby. All CEOs were fed with constant lies and fake news.

failed. next time bring your A game.

Hi

The "crew" is in Colorado this week working on extending relationships and observing the holiday.  Rest assurd there are always plans in place!  Relationships with partners, contributors, growers, and dispensaries are always on-going and are an important process.  Building trust and maintaining future relations will bring more to the coin in the long run.  That is what the Cannabis Coin team and community is all about.

As we further our relationships with future merchants there will be official announcements on acceptance.  The strain development process continues and the team meets almost daily to discuss plans and work ideas in progress.  The Cannabis Coin community has brought up many great ideas and we love em!  There will be more upcoming updates.

YES WE CANN

Happy 4th of July!

Hi...

What dispensaries accept Cannabiscoins?  Please post name and location if that's ok...  I am plannng to do a little CANN giveaway to people who are near the dispensaries that accept CANN.  Smiley

edit:  Of course, I will tell them that there's a limit per person, per day and that supply might not be there.  So I'd advise them to call ahead or somethng..

I want to say Herbal Wellness Center in Arizona accepts CANN for D9's Canndy strain, something like 3 grams per day per person or something like that. I think it's like a coupon right now. You have to buy some other stuff to qualify, like 10 bucks worth of goods(?) something like that.

Whoa! I think that is dead wrong.

As far as I know there has never been a purchase requirement at all. I wouldn't vouch for the 3 grams either although that could be something new with an increase in supplies. It was the case that Arizona mmj card holders could exchange 1 Cann for 1 gram daily with no purchase requirement whatsoever. You will need to check.

Edit: see usage posts by synapse_showsumctrl here and here.

You could be right. Either way, they do accept CANN for a limited supply of CANNDY.

good news! POST Beta for test release is right around the corner. Our lead developer has compiled and generated the first genesis block and Merkle tree with the full feature set. So next steps are ironing out a few more details then Beta Test release to the community.

I hope lots of people are interested in kicking the tires and helping out with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regression_testing  Smiley

That's great news! My netbook is eager to hash out some POST mining. Smiley

I haven't been following too closely in this thread - but has anyone suggested a change to POS from POW?
Mining rewards halving to a quite low amount will PROBABLY mean miners leaving the network, to the detriment of the coin?
A POS reward of 2 - 3% would encourage many to stake, there is enough of a distribution to ensure network health.

Just a thought - and sorry if this has already been brought up, too much to read through  Smiley

Freaking weird, I just had the same thought as I was syncing my CANN Qt back up after 6 weeks.  Devs, definitely something to consider.  Go green.

You could even implement something like Turbo Stake (on a smaller scale) which will encourage network growth and security.

Hi Guys Smiley

Maintaining sufficient hash rate for network security is a topic covered frequently, of course. Naturally the mechanics of how to do so is also discussed.

Mining reward is composed of two elements, transaction fees and direct subsidy, which halves every 100K blocks.

Currently transaction fees are insufficient incentive to keep miners hashing away, keeping the block chain moving and secure. Miners are therefore dependent on subsidy and/or expectation of future value.

What has happened to CannabisCoin's exchange rate since the last halving? As we can see below exchange price has risen by about fifty percent, so not enough to offset the halving subsidy (yet).

What could change that?

Obviously it is early days yet for the Yes We CANN movement and unsubsidized transaction fees are unlikely to be sufficient mining incentive for some time - that would need a lot of CANNdy sales daily.

Price rise then. Is it likely that the exchange price will rise, especially in view of possible test crop releases from the various grow sites? That does seem likely, meaning that mining reward will likely rise justifying miners' faith in future value as incentive for stockpiling current rewards and encouraging more mining effort.

What of the alternatives such as Proof of Stake (PoS) rather than Proof of Work (PoW)?

There are positives and negatives to any method. After a year of distribution the rate of new coin minting is about to fall to roughly the equivalent of 1% annual inflation, halving every seven weeks or so thereafter.

Reducing the rate of inflation reduces the dilution rate of current holders' stake. If we were now to turn around and increase the inflation rate again to the 2-3% suggested for PoS we'd be diluting the value of the assets of those who have already acquired their CANN stake. You realize that is definitely an unpopular thing to do as it disadvantages early supporters who mined and/or made their purchases with the expectation of declining rate of coin supply inflation.

On the other hand we have some room to maneuver since part of the intended target of 100,000,000 total coin supply has been "burned" (removed from the block chain) so tweaking the subsidy rate to add say, 8,000,000 coins over the next five years or so would still technically be within described parameters when CannabisCoin switched to the X11 algorithm a year ago.

There are other options besides PoS. We could simply fix the subsidy rate rather than allowing it to continue halving. At what annual inflation rate should that be done though? I hesitate to ask who has crystal balls but some future knowledge would be helpful. We could also change to multi-algorithm and allow ASICs to keep the hash rate high. At what exchange rate and at what volume of transactions does mining subsidy become completely unnecessary? How strongly will the market react to releases of CANNdy into the supply chain? Should we wait to see how the market reacts before tampering with the block chain at all?

Making certain that any changes are fair to all is a challenging task.

Is there a single "best" option? That's highly unlikely but rest assured block chain health is monitored and possible actions periodically discussed. I can tell you that PoS is not presently a favored option and that any change will be the result of very careful consideration. Any change must advantage everyone generally and no one particularly.

Honestly, there's no need to tamper with the algo. If CANN is properly adopted by industry, there will be a price rise sufficient to keep warehouses full of GPU's churning away. It worked that way for Bitcoin, and it can work that way for CANN. I for one would rent a warehouse and build rigs for a living if cann coin would support it. Winners get the hashing power, and there's no reason other cannabis coins won't succeed and also grab market share. It's not exactly a race. Each coin caters to a sector, so whenever it happens, the hashing will rise to the needs of the network.

Dear All,

Had a couple of good meetings with some solar manufacturers this past week at the InterSolar in Munich, Germany http://www.intersolar.de/en/home.html

These companies could eventually be accepting SLR for payment for their products. Datalogger companies are interested in monitoring the amount of SLR produced from household installations.

Specialised solar Magazines are still dubious of the BitCoin Business Model (?) but are now aware of the existence of SLR...

Keep in mind : 6.000.000 households already have solar panels on their roof across the world : This is our target market.

Regs,

SunnyBoy

That's fantastic news!

Yeah what that guy said.

Imagine distributors, growers and retail shops putting cash into CANN in order to work around federal laws that prohibit fund deposits into banks from marijuana sales. Using this token to move product around. This is larger than someone walking in and just using CANN to purchase medicine. It's a solution to a very real problem.

Update on POSv and other things.

Here is the status, the founders board has paid 50% of a development fee to the team behind Cannacoin for the POSv project.  The amount was paid and accepted in BTC.  To date we haven't had a status update for 3 weeks. So we ask the following from the community.

1. If you know how to reach the cannacoin lead devs, please ask them about the status of the Solarcoin POSv dev project or funds. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=740903.0  The cannacoin site seems to have gotten quiet, this might be due to other projects they are involved with.

2. If you know a trustworthy developer who can get SolarCoin to POSv please introduce them to me. This provides us with a rapid plan B.  The project involves the following

1. migrating the current coin code base to POSv
2. maintaining the transaction messaging TX message capability.
3. Do this using the current SLR blockchain. We mistakenly went down a rabbit hole with a migrate to a new block-chain solution, which is too risky.
4. Deliver a compiled MacOS, Win and Linux compilable code as well as leave the source up in the repository https://github.com/solarcoin/solarcoin

On other fronts the foundation has engaged a marketing specialist who focuses on growing communities to identifying the cost and methodology for getting to 50k users.

The individual has built campaigns at the regional and national level working with govts, banks and brands over 30 years.

the target of 50k SLR users creating just half the economic utility of BTC (market cap/# of BTC users) is likely to be interesting.

A very high level security specialist with 20 yrs experience is working on a budget and timeline for the following projects:

1. securing the generator/ genesis pool,
2. building a website backend that can enable a skinnable wallet: think easy mobile and web affiliates.
3. toolset and architecture for general affiliate security model

so that is what is going on.

Nick

Are you sure you weren't scammed? I don't see much advantage going with PoSv. Ethereum launches soon, as will Sidechains for Bitcoin. Eris exists now and is in testing: https://erisindustries.com/

What advantage does PoSv have? It's hard to update it because it's hard coded most likely in C++ so what benefit do you have if you'll have to update it in a few years anyway?

Using Eris you can make your entire foundation a decentralized organization or DCO. You could also automate certain aspects with smart contracts which in the long term will make the process run more smoothly.

Development has been handed over to Vericoin. Both posv and post are being considered.

Etherium like technologies are also being considered for future development. The thread has this history.
