Any coin can be hardforked to add extra coins. What is your point? How many times do I have to tell you this?
You can barely string together an english sentence, let alone understand the technicalities of bitcoin code.

It's a non issue. I could just as easily craft a client update that will create 50 billion coins and make them spendable only by me. This type of attack is possible on ANY coin.
Hey you can't help there being critics. I actually mine this coin and have quite a few, it's just that the users have to literally put all their trust in Artos that he won't do anything abusive such as making the coins spendable again or abusing the coin mixing service somehow. All coins require trust in the developer. I wouldn't have invested in this coin if there was even the slightest chance of the genesis block causing issues down the line. All this FUD is stupid and uninformed.

The technical ignorance on this forum is astounding.
Tell you what, if you're so scared of the premine being spendable, I've set up a giant buy wall at .00000444 on cryptsy. Please, dump into me. I'll take all the coins off your hands.

His statement still stands true though, if the code were to be changed again, then the 1.25 million coins would become just as easily spendable as it was before.
The fact that the coins are there is totally irrelevant. I could make a client for any coin that would give me a billion coins to spend. It's as simple as inserting a rogue transaction into the transaction database, and having everybody accept this as the new client. The type of attack this clown is worried about is possible irregardless of the genesis block. The only true way to destroy the coins would be to destroy the wallet it's in forever with zero copies, documented in a Youtube video for proof.
That's not how bitcoin works.

They're not spendable. You're an uninformed idiot. I say this as someone who is intimately familiar with the bitcoin protocol.
Take your FUD elsewhere.
If wallet is updated for processing block genesis coinbase tx, they would be spendable. This is said above, dork. Please, note to artos this bug. PREMINED 1.25 Billions could be SPENDEABLE !!!!Your ignorance is impressive. You clearly don't know the first thing about coins or coin creation, so why are you here commentating? Start off by learning the difference between million and billion.

FUD. Coins aren't spendable.

LOL it is unspeandable if the current binary shipped is built from the source in github ... but could not be.
False. The people finding the blocks (aka pools) are running software created from the git. No blocks involving the genesis transaction could ever make it into the block chain because of this. But it's clear you do not have any knowledge of the bitcoin protocol, nor show any desire to learn, so the effort is wasted on you. Lol this is his pain. But artos could fork the chain by means of an updade for making the coinbase tx spendable ... LOL. Great plan !! ... but it has been caught ! ! Any chain could be hardforked to poof a large amount of coins into existence. What is your point?

I'll give it about 6 months before he triumphantly returns with the launch of microcash and makes this recent haul look like chump change.
Certainly is no shortage of idiots with money in the cryptoworld.

Hey, idiot. If you bothered to read the post you would know that THE GENESIS BLOCK IS UNSPENDABLE. It's a bug/oversight within bitcoin that has existed since the very first version of it. The bit of code that was added allowed it to be spent. With it removed, it's back to being unspendable. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Genesis_blockYes, reading is hard, I know.

There's a lot of misconception about that. The actual notice is not nearly as bad as some are making it out to be. It legalizes buying/selling bitcoin in China for everyone except banks under the condition that it's not presented as official Chinese currency, and imposes some AML/KYC stuff to prevent money laundering. Banks have no business investing people's money into bitcoin anyway. It's too risky.
I personally think it's a good thing. The state controlled media has been pumping the hell out of bitcoin for the past month now. If anything, this is a step towards legitimizing it.

Anywhere from $2-$5 is well within the realm of possibility. It's only been a week and we've already touched $0.70

Here's the final logo. Just a clean, updated version of the original. Should please everybody. Perfect.

Coins are a dime a dozen. There's no reason to revive a coin that had so many problems associated with it. Goldcoin is one of the most notorious. You're either full of shit, or dumb as bricks. Take your pick. Censorship doesn't help your cause either.
