1085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why no one has the balls to make a new SHA256 ? on: June 14, 2013, 04:21:03 AM
Because itll just get asic bombed. How the fuck is that lacking balls? Thats called foresight.

Bro can you just help me understand why someone who paid so much and waited so long for a asic miner

would turn to a new SHA coin when they have more of a chance of getting close to ROI, hashing BTC?

And the logic in pointing their asics to a new coin knowing it would destroy it and most probably leaving them with useless coins anyway?

Because HAZARD im sure im missing something that your not, can you help me out here by explaining this logic cause its not the first time ive seen you say it

Thanks in advance
That's the goal, to kill the coin. A 51% attack is trivial with an ASIC. Stalling the network is trivial with an ASIC. There's really no reason to use SHA256 because it opens the door for these type of attacks. And they have happened to other coins before (most recently, terracoin comes to mind).

Using SHA256 puts the all power in the hands of the technologically elite and privileged few. Why do it?

1092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why no one has the balls to make a new SHA256 ? on: June 13, 2013, 10:10:59 PM
Scrypt is technologically superior to SHA-256 as far as cryptos go. There's no reason to use SHA-256 anymore.

u really think thats true ? if it was BFL .. AVALON .. and many other upcoming companies, u think they would invest so much money if sha256 wasnt good no more ?
Bitcoin can't just pack up its shit and move over to a new encryption algorithm. That's just not possible. BFL/Avalon make sha256 ASICs solely because bitcoin is based on sha256.. and bitcoin happens to be where the money is.

I'm sure that went over your head though, you appear to be mentally challenged.

ROFL .. u sure proved your IQ ... welcome to my ignore list

1097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread **UPDATED** on: June 13, 2013, 09:15:43 PM
I did see a massive failure the other day, in which sites were reporting the payout as 0, and the pools appeared to have mostly stopped at that time as well.  I really want to see this develop into something more...but I'm not holding my breath.  Did anyone ever get a paper wallet site up?  That'd be a really nice step in the correct direction.  That and getting this on more than just BTER and cryptsy...if BTC-e grabbed on...we'd have something pretty nice...but again, breathing normally, as I don't see this happening soon.

Wasn't the original idea that you could someday swap BTB for physical gold?  If we can get someone with gold to offer it in exchange for BTB on a website...this would become a much more viable crypto.  Until then, we'll see, but my hopes are dwindling.  I might even be willing to run the website if someone has gold to back it, legitimately.

How many times have you told your friends, family, wife, girlfriend, kids, random people in the street, and anyone who you meet who you think may listen, about bitcoin? How many listened? How frustrated and foolish did this make you feel? Even though you were right all along!! And still they are not listening!!?
Bitbar is to the crypto-community, as bitcoin is to that person you told, when you first discovered Bitcoin.

I think the problem with the coin profitability sites is being fixed,  I read about this earlier and it seems that the Bitbar developer has registered to this forum, and is getting actively involved, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=152515.msg2425717#msg2425717

Don't get disheartened, innovation comes from the belief of the few, not the agreement of the masses.

Hahaha good jokes.

This coin is shit, and so are you. 2000 BTB instamine during first hour of launch. What a joke!
1098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best/Easiest Coin to mine. on: June 13, 2013, 08:43:07 PM
the best coin depends what your looking for

Fun: EZCoin
Profit: DGC (DigitalCoin)
Future Gamble: SBC (StableCoin)
Stability: LTC

easiest difficulty on a tradeable coin is FST (FastCoin)
accurate
1099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why no one has the balls to make a new SHA256 ? on: June 13, 2013, 08:20:30 PM
I have to agree with OP. I saw so many scrypt/scrypt-jane coins that it's worse than SHA256 coins.

+1 .. i see all these .. fakecoin ... dreamcoin ...memecoin ...
and what does that have to do with the algorithm chosen?

absolutely nothing.
