501  Other / Off-topic / Re: how much you earn a month ? on: October 05, 2014, 12:08:47 PM
I'm self-employed so the figure can range anywhere between £800-£2000. Usually in the middle somewhere, but I can work when I want pretty much so it suits me.
502  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-10-4] Bitcointalk Staff Quietly Bans People for Speaking Out Against Them on: October 05, 2014, 12:06:50 PM
Haha, I tried to read this article and I got an error saying my IP was banned (I was using Tor).

OMG there's a conspiracy! They don't want you reading this!

Wait's in amusement for the response from the mods   (nvm always need to check in meta first before saying that lol ah good stuff)
But this is a bitcoin related press article so it seems we have some interesting debate incoming here.

BitcoinTalk staff wouldn’t need to moderate the forums any longer if they become decentralized, and their already existing trust from the community would only get stronger for it.

This proposal might be interesting in the future the idea of using blockchain technology to moderate, does seem like a possible application of bitcoin for next gen forum software kind of like voting with your money, or addressing the externality of being a troll and their nuisance cost by making them pay to well be tolerated (something of a forum feature  Grin) and someone somewhere will need to try it to prove it works. That said it's aside from the other stuff.

I don't think a forum like this would work very well. The people who moan at how this forum is run should try create one, though.
503  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: So what is a scammer exactly? on: October 05, 2014, 11:56:34 AM
It's not that broad. A scammer is someone who is suspected of or attempts to take money away from someone via deception or theft.

505  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's price continues downward trend, Is this good? on: September 30, 2014, 01:58:46 PM
Whether the price going up or down is good or not depends on your stance. If you want to buy in its good, but if you're wanting to sell or keep your coins as an investment it's certainly not.
506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it too late to make bitcoin illegal? on: September 30, 2014, 01:55:19 PM
Banning or making it illegal isn't going to stop people from using it. Drugs are illegal but because of that they've become an untaxed multi billion if not trillion industry.
507  Other / Off-topic / Re: bitcointalk on: September 28, 2014, 11:46:21 AM
Off topic is a place were you can post anything not related to bitcoin .

What has this got to do with anything? Seems a bit... off topic  Cheesy.
508  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Random 0.00001 BTC from Laxo Trade? on: September 28, 2014, 11:44:43 AM
Yep I received 0.00000001 btc randomly today. It came with a btc address as a Message ?.?

That's usually the point. They're advertising that message. These payments get people's attention and them to check out whatever they're trying to promote.
509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Few funny emails received recently, do people actualy fall for such scams? on: September 09, 2014, 12:59:39 PM
Yes, people do fall for them, but those ones are some of the laziest I've seen. More importantly, where did they get your email from?
510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Shouldn't We Put a Bounty on satoshin@gmx.com Hacker? on: September 09, 2014, 12:55:30 PM
Not sure why everyone cares so much about a throw away e-mail lol

Well something like this is bound to cause excitement and intrigue especially in these slow and unexciting bitcoin times.
511  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: September 09, 2014, 12:53:09 PM
It was too big before... it probably still is.  I don't think it'd make sense to cancel it completely, though.  You'd still want at least some exposure on here.

I'm guessing you got your payment now seeing as the feedback is gone? So has everyone got paid now? Hopefully that will be a big stress removed. I agree that it wouldnt be a good idea to cancel it completely, but the campaign may benefit from cutting a few more members, though.
512  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now might be a bad time for newbies to buy BTC on: September 09, 2014, 12:50:00 PM
Looking at charts and making such predictions is futile as it's all speculation. Nobody can predict what the price will be today tomorrow or two years from now.
513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal + Bitcoin: Welcome to the promised land! on: September 09, 2014, 12:47:30 PM
Wtf... those faces and that voice, makes it so hard to focus on what they're actually saying.

There will be a 100% chance paypal will still rape you with fees for using their built in bitcoin feature..

They're obviously going to take a fee just like any payment processor but regardless of their cut it's still huge news. Hopefully they'll charge a fee less than what they currently do for fiat payments.
514  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: September 09, 2014, 12:02:53 PM
Is this definitely the last run or has stunna not confirmed yet.
He is thinking about stopping but still no confirmation about this

He is thinking means, most probably he will do. Last time when he was thinking to cutting down campaign,
and he did it. But it was one of the best and longest running campaign in Bitcointalk forum.

Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Is he not allowed to think now? He's said plenty of things and then later changed his mind. It's completely pointless speculating in here based on one thing he said especially when you have zero control over it.
515  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can a newb buy bitcoins? on: September 09, 2014, 11:30:09 AM

localbitcoins -- are only good for face to face transactions?

You don't have to buy face to face, but what's wrong with that? You give them the cash and you get the coins. YOu can also buy from the Currency Exchnage here. Just use a trusted escrow.
516  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game | 0.91% Edge | PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: September 09, 2014, 10:34:22 AM

We could use a fix somehow on the chat spam level.  More mods would help.  We shouldn't have 1 mod on at a time and not even always a mod on.

They're currently looking for new mods. You can apply here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=770468.80
517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Shouldn't We Put a Bounty on satoshin@gmx.com Hacker? on: September 09, 2014, 10:31:40 AM
He probably doesn't have any info on Satoshi and if he does what does that have to do with us? He's just begging for donations. He could still release the info even if he got money anyway so it's pointless. Just let him have his five minutes of fun.

519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why would you start to accept bitcoin payments as a business owner? on: September 09, 2014, 10:18:43 AM
Imagine you are the boss of some kind of business that deals with physical objects everyday and why would you start to accept bitcoin payments?

What are you going to do with all that bitcoins that you've earned? Hold it? seriously?

There's many reasons why you should. It's cheaper than accepting creditcards and it's free promotion for your business for a start. If you don't want to hold the coins you can use a payment processor that gives you cash for them straight away so you're not risking anything.
520  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Explain me please on: September 09, 2014, 10:10:43 AM
It's not far off 500 USD now. As for why the price falls there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason as to why, but I guess it's basic supply and demand. Nobody could tell you what causes the ups and downs though other than that.
