I have already posted the DAP party program before they changed their name (from 1913.) so here's the more relevant one from 1918. when they changed their name to the today-known NSDAP (National Socialist Workers Party)
https://www.docdroid.net/1vMbN4A/national-socialist-workers-party.pdf

Quote
Transfer of all capitalist large-scale enterprises, in which private management is injurious to the common good, into the possession of the state, province (völkisch self-governing bodies), and municipality. Consideration shall be given to in particular to: the entire transportation system, natural resources, water power, insurance companies, and the advertising industry. Profit-sharing among all employees in state, provincial, and municipal enterprises.

Quote
Expropriation of large estates and entails for the purpose of establishing small- and medium-sized peasant farmsteads. A prohibition on the buying-up of land for luxury purposes (hunting and the like). Establishment of the state’s right of first refusal on every sale of property and land [Grund und Boden]. Nationalization of property-selling [Grundbesitzverkaufes].

Quote
We reject, however, all forms of unearned income, such as ground rents and interest, as well as usurious profits extorted from the misery of one’s fellow man. Against them we stridently advocate the value of productive labor.

Quote
The private economy can never be wholly or violently abolished, yet all forms of social property should exist alongside it and be increasingly expanded. We advocate unconditionally for the transfer of all capitalist large-scale enterprises, which constitute private monopolies, into the possession of the state, province (völkisch self-governing bodies), or municipality.
In the purposeful conversion of all other enterprises into cooperative property through steadily increasing the profit-sharing of all those who work in them, both physically and intellectually, we see the guiding principles for future progress.
Quote
Reorganization of the entire taxation system with the aim of promoting labor, rendering unearned incomes and profiteering in land, trade, and stock-market impossible above all. Abolition of unjust indirect taxes and introduction of a heavily graduated income tax. Scheduling of the highest possible taxation rates for retirement income and the lowest conceivable rates for earned income. High taxation of all fallow land; introduction of capital gains taxes; increase in inheritance tax and stock-market tax; introduction of luxury taxes and taxation of all hitherto tax-free property. Calculation of taxation rates according to number of children.

Quote
Fixation of minimum wage rates and salaries for each occupation and municipality through consensus with the trade unions. Introduction of a cost-of-living supplement [Teuerungszuschlägen] and family allowance. Adoption of legal regulations according to which public authorities and municipal self-governing bodies can prevent the engagement of racially-foreign workers.

Quote
Definitive regulation of working-hours on the basis of the eight-hour day as the maximum working time, with the establishment of shorter working-hours for hazardous industries; Reich-wide workers’ legislation.
Quote
A ban on nightwork in all industries, insofar as this is not unfeasible due to technical reasons. A complete ban on nightwork for women and young workers.
General implementation of a 36-hour weekly rest period; free Saturday afternoons and the legal establishment of statutory leave entitlements for all employees.

Nah, they were only called the "National Socialist German Workers' Party", they weren't socialists just like every other failed attempt at socialism wasn't socialist.
I would actually argue that Nation Socialism was economically more successful than internationalsocialism.
It's most likely because of this quote

Not completely eliminating the private market enabled the nationalsocialist country to not only avoid starvation but run an economy that's able to engage in warfare with half of Europe, well, for a period time.

So the name is enough of a proof right?

So Democratic Republic of China or the  Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) are actually democracies and not dictatorships?

Wahou, I didn't know it was so easy!

Nazis were fascists, hence they were in favor of gathering all powers under one man. That's not socialism. That's dictatorship.

And about the socialist policies in there program, they were never applied so... Unless of course a foodstamp program is a socialist policy for you. But that means all the countries in the world were socialist countries at this period :/

Like I said...

Nah, they were only called the "National Socialist German Workers' Party", they weren't socialists just like every other failed attempt at socialism wasn't socialist.

This is so predictable I had to get it out of the way first thing.

Yeah it's predictable that when you say something stupid someone will call it out as stupid Smiley

Saying that Nazis were socialists because they had socialist in their name is as stupid as calling north korea a democracy for the same reason.

It's not because they had in in their name, it's because it's the truth.
I'm posting chronologically, so you'll get even more info later into the thread.

What's your offer?
Considering that you're talking about future of your country, amount should be much higher, like 1 BTC. Or at least should be equal to typical monthly income.

P.S. I'm not eligible to participate in this since I don't have voting rights there.

You can participate if you really want to

Here are the party principles of the Deutsche Arbeiter Partei or the German Workers Party from 1913.
Adolf Hitler will later join the party
https://www.docdroid.net/4qIxCKf/party.pdf

Quote
Transfer of capitalist large-scale enterprises, in which private property is injurious to the common good, into the possession of the Reich or municipality, particularly nationalization of the mining industry and the railways.

Quote
The faceless exploitation of the workers by emergent capitalism at the beginning of the 19th century led to bloody riots, which brought the workers no practical results.

Quote
Fixation of minimum wage rates for each occupation and region; enactment of statutory legislation with which public authorities and self-governing bodies can prevent the enlistment of racially-foreign workers to pressure wages.

Quote
General implementation of a 36-hour weekly rest period; free Saturday afternoons for female workers and the legal establishment of statutory leave entitlements for all employees in the sense of the Commercial Clerks Act.

-----
Yet another "nazis were socialists" thread. Oh, come on, this is ridiculous.

They didn't anything to nationalize private enterprises. Just for example, military industry was private owned. Heavy machinery was private owned. Hell, even the oil and mining industry were in a private sector.

Even more, they were doing opposite policy including privatization of public enterprises. If this is a socialist policy then Margaret Thatcher was a socialist as well.

If socialism means complete nationalization of private enterprise, what's the difference between socialism and communism?

Quote
Just like their racism, which was merely a tool to rob the jews who were quite wealthy then.
Just like the kulaks.

I would like to have an eye drop that makes me go blind in day light temporarily so I can forget about the rest of the world and sleep lol. Who needs night vision when it is the time to sleep without someone debating the importance of saving such time. But kudos to the scientists though, now they can work day and night!

That already exists and you don't have to drop it in your eye.
It's called a blindfold.

Probably meant for the military to see while operating in the middle of the dark rain forest. Bringing some infrared devices will not be needed anymore but just a tiny container of it inside their pockets. If it comes from fish down below then it came from nature that flash lights won't hurt the eyes. This is very useful for the authorities really, they could improve it too to last more tan 50minutes.

I was responding to the one that makes you blind by target.

A historical note from Jet Cash

The reason that so many pirates wore eye patches during the day, was to preserve night vision in one eye. Shielding it from sunlight strengthens night vision, and this was valuable to them, as a lot of their action was nocturnal.

What the, my life has been a lie  Shocked
I thought they wore them because it was a scar.

I agree we can't observe the total emissions, it's important to view it per capita.
We can't expect countries with a billion people to have the same emissions as countries with a 100 million.
Still, however, I don't see how this temperature rise correlates with any human activity.
The ice mass was significanlty lesser thousands of years ago then it is now.
510  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump has declared war on water saving toilets and it’s hilarious (15 times) :) on: December 08, 2019, 07:57:30 PM
Why would there be regulations on toilets?
He's using it as an excuse to deregulate and free the market.
Love it.

IIRC regulations on toilets and water heaters were the work of Al Gore when he was VP to Clinton.

The results of those regulations are mixed. A fair number of the new "low Flo" toilets did not work properly.

Some are worthless, other designs seem excellent.

Why would the goverment need to regulate toilets?

This against basic humans rights but govs did not care.....
Though this does infringe on the privacy of everybody, it's being done for something good and that's for the security and safety of the people. With the database created with these scans it would be easy to arrest criminals and maybe stop potential terrorist attacks,  would be great if it was implemented everywhere.

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

I think giving someone power to listen to everything everyone says - ever outweighs the benefit of having a terrorist database.

I didn't say she's getting paid. I just said her not taking the awards doesn't mean she's not getting paid.
I mean, how the hell does a 16-year old child get to lecture the leaders of the United nations?
It's only to push someones agenda.
A child is the best to plead to emotions, but certainly she can't possess any knowledge on the subject.

Living on the oceans... starting to colonize planets... to sustain 8 billion people? Are you mad? Will you still think same when the population reaches 20 billion?

I would rather prefer the way of Thanos than feeding billions of unnecessary mouths. He definitely makes more sense.

That's if I had to choose between these options.

The one which makes the most sense is teaching people to make kids not more than they could afford to feed but like I said, we already failed there.

Agent Smith was also right. Human are like virus. We won't be able stop till we kill our host. THE EARTH.

That's what's going to happen not because we can't handle people here but because it's good for the survival chances of our species.
Space colonization is going to improve the lives of human beings in unimaginable ways, it's going to be 1492 no.2
Asteroids contain more resources of some mineral than we have on the entire planet.

And about the population, we just said with 7 billion people, each person the planet has 8000 m2 of space for himself.
We could easily sustain 70 billion and by the time the planet reaches even 10 billion, we'll already be colonizing planets (see SpaceX).
The Earths population will take thousands of years before it become a 'sustainibilty' problem and by that time it won't be a problem because of techonologial improvement.

CO2 is the cure for the problem. More CO2 in the atmosphere produces more plants, because it is plant food. We need more food to survive. However...

In World First, Scientists Reprogram Bacteria to Exist Solely By Consuming CO2 From the Air

This means that the bacteria were able to build all of their biomass from air. This feat, which involved nearly a decade of rational design, genetic engineering and a sped-up version of evolution in the lab, point to an exciting new means of developing carbon-neutral fuels.

The research, which was conducted in the laboratory of Professor Ron Milo of the Weizmann Institute of Science, was reported this week in Cell.

The study began by identifying crucial genes for the process of carbon fixation—the way plants take carbon from CO2 for the purpose of turning it into such biological molecules as protein and DNA. After adding and rewiring the needed genes, the researchers found that many of the "parts" for the machinery that were already present in the bacterial genome could be used as is.

Cool

Problem solved.  Now we just have to keep the bacteria in check...

This is extremely dangerous.
What if they overproduce and eat too much CO2 causing a mass extinction?
Plants need CO2 to survive.
No CO2= no O2

water vapour is not just about the cloud layer. its also the ground level evaporation that takes heat with it

EG
put a puddle of oil on the ground  and beside it a puddle of water.  the water takes the heat away from the ground much faster

rain forests are called such because the ecological effects have more of a water impact than a carbon impact

climate change is about water cycle and carbon sulphur and other toxins is the lung/life health of animals and plants
its why in a smoggy city vs a country field even though carbon has alot higher result in the city, the temperature is not to the same degree higher. however people can breathe easier in the country than the city

anyways
until greta and major population actually get to a point and come up with solutions people like greta are just finger pointing while getting rich on sponsored tours and paid guest speakers. which isnt actually going to solve the issue

Do you actually follow current events or do you just like to argue so much that you don't need facts?  It's quite clear that Greta hasn't taken money from anyone.  She has refused prize monies that came with awards and is donating the proceeds from her book to charity as well.  This young lady is principled...

Her words: "I am not part of any organization. I sometimes support and cooperate with several NGOs that work with the climate and environment. But I am absolutely independent and I only represent myself. And I do what I do completely for free, I have not received any money or any promise of future payments in any form at all. And nor has anyone linked to me or my family done so.
And of course it will stay this way. I have not met one single climate activist who is fighting for the climate for money. That idea is completely absurd.
Furthermore I only travel with permission from my school and my parents pay for tickets and accommodations.
"

 ...and she's genuine.

Doesn't mean she's not getting paid.

The entire earths population can fit in the Grand Canyon.

There was a good video I saw on YouTube, you can watch it here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_iNRGac_uM

It's called 'What if Everyone lived in just one city'.

At the density of Singapore, the entire world population would fit in the state of Texas&Oklahoma.

but thats cramming people in one location. without calculating the extra space needed for electric, food and clean water production(your example is just the housing)

no one denies people can be densly crammed into small area's. but the myth wasnt the people. it was the land neded for food/energy and water production, plus workspace and product manufacturing.

however people needing a single story house for 4 and land for agriculture is possible without issues
then if you layer people ontop of each other because its possible to grow plants multilayered(stackd ontop of each other) reduces the square metres needed

Singapore doesn't produce food&electricity?

Not so much food.  Around 90% of their food must be imported.

If the entire world population can fit into basically Texas, you could use a couple more states for the food etc. It would be impossible to use up all 50 states.

Besides, there are entire oceans which can sustain people. If overpopulation was actually a problem we would start living on the oceans or make land from them as the Netherlands does.

Antarctica would be an option as well.
By the time that would happen we would also start colonizing other planets (Tesla is supposed to start a colony on Mars in 10 years).
