501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NVC killed BTC-E and Coinotron? on: February 14, 2013, 04:16:12 PM
You can still trade your NovaCoin at http://exchange.zapto.org/
502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dont be surprised if you lose money investing in NVC on: February 14, 2013, 09:34:38 AM
I've got to say that this move by BTC-e has spooked me a little. To the extent that I have pulled out the 8,000LTC I had sitting on their site to another wallet.

I did mine some NVC to dump them for LTC while the difficulty was low. I'm not going to mine NVC to keep it any time soon.
503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC-E questionable practices on: February 13, 2013, 05:04:57 PM
The upside of NVC is that the LTC difficulty is going to drop. Two days and counting till the adjust.

Let's hope that BTC-e release a new coin every month so the quicker users can capitalise on the gold rush Smiley
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How does NovaCoin have 2700BTC in buy orders?!?! and LTC only 470BTC? on: February 13, 2013, 05:01:03 PM
There is a 2000BTC buy order at 0.2 which I expect would be removed if the exchange gets near it.
505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MicroCash - New CryptoCurrency on: February 13, 2013, 11:53:40 AM
Keep the faith.

Also SC is seeing some volume on Vircurex.

I would love to see MicroCash launch Smiley
506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Greedi and Coblee and Litecoin on: February 13, 2013, 10:59:05 AM
Who is/are the developers that currently represent litecoin development?

Right now, it's just me and laSeek.

Are there any plans to update the code to BitCoin 0.7 and beyond?

Yes, stay tuned.

That is excellent news. Thank you for letting us know.

There is no way to introduce a coin without Smoothie having a public melt down Smiley
509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Announce] Fairbrix relaunched! on: February 12, 2013, 04:38:27 PM
Perhaps Fairbrix and BBQCoin are an omen that MicroCash will launch.

Thanks for the binaries xorxor.
511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin IMMUNE to Bitcoin ASICs on: January 31, 2013, 12:55:32 PM
I've got a 60GH ordered. I only just upgraded my order in December from a little single so I guess I'm at the back of the queue. My original order was at the beginning of October and was for a Jalepeno.
512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin IMMUNE to Bitcoin ASICs on: January 31, 2013, 10:18:22 AM
Good to see Avalon get their kit out there. Waiting on BFL now to get me my Single Smiley
513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Looking for a guide to 51% attacks on: January 30, 2013, 10:30:46 AM
So I'm wondering if there are any good guides to running a 51% attack on BitCoin?

Might seem a bit daft and implausible for Bitcoin but I could use this guide to inform myself of the possible threats to Bitcoin and I can re-purpose it to test alt-coins. There are some alt-coins with very low hashrate, I'd be interested to see if I could take over an alt-coin for a small while.

You would ignore any blocks mined by the rest of the network and mine on your own until your chain is longer than the rest of the network which given you control 51% of the network hashrate is statistically inevitable. You would then spend some coins somewhere, wait for however many confirmations your recipient requires and receive your irreversible goods. You can now broadcast your longer chain and in one of the blocks include a transaction that spends the coins elsewhere so the original recipient never gets to claim them.

Okay. I get this. Mine with 51% but do not broadcast the block chain. Spend old coins on the network and then broadcast my chain without those coins being spent.

I'll now go find a suitable atl-coin testnet to try this out. Thanks for the help.

If someone does find a comprehensive guide for doing such dastardly deeds please do post a reference to it here.

515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crazy_rabbit says TRC will avoid LTC's "mistakes" on: January 28, 2013, 02:48:49 PM
I would not personally put my time or money into Terracoin at this point in time but I do believe that Crazy Rabbit does raise some good points about LTC that we should be concerned about.

In fact I'd say that if you are reading this and are not worried at all, about Litecoin's future, then perhaps you should ask yourself if you have become a member of the Litecoin cult.
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Terracoins Price skyrockets on: January 26, 2013, 08:19:43 AM
I managed to sell all my TRC last time the price was pumped up to 0.2LTC per TRC. Shortly after I sold my TRC the pump ended and the price went down at some points to a tenth of what I sold the coins at.

In short, it's great if you manage to ride the wave but the price is not sustainable.
517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Win 10 BTC: Guess the price on February 1st (no entry fee) on: January 25, 2013, 12:42:57 PM
$11.50
518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC Price will drop below 0.003 BTC before January 27 2013 (BTC-e price) on: January 25, 2013, 10:57:41 AM
With the rapid drop in BTC/USD it seems unlikely that the price of a LTC will drop below 0.003BTC before the 27th.

Every time I gamble I lose. Probably a good thing.
519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FreiCoin (FRC) discussion (was FreiCoin (FRC) for TRC, PPC, LTC or BTC) on: January 25, 2013, 10:02:58 AM
I am in the middle of a complete rework of my personal network (Including the mining rigs). I will turn my miners (about 3.5 G/Hs) to the Freicoin network as soon as everything is done.

That would be great. We only saw 7 blocks solved in the last 24 hours. At this rate it is going to take 64 days till the difficulty adjusts. Then I guess we can expect a rush again.
520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC Price will drop below 0.003 BTC before January 27 2013 (BTC-e price) on: January 24, 2013, 02:32:54 PM
There are now 453BTC worth of buy orders between now and 0.003BTC per LTC but the bets are still stacked higher on the agree side.
