521  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S2 upgrade kit? EDIT: New info 3/11 on: May 07, 2015, 08:18:23 PM
I think the Bitcoin price will be pushed, maybe, under 180\160 euro?? So the whales
can Upgrade their S2's as cheap as possible.
Most idiotic theory one can imagine, what's your IQ dude? Can you calculate 2+2?
It's quite possible to see it in that range.  What's idiotic is your theory why it couldn't.  People (companies mainly) can't afford to hold it at it's current value forcing them to sell which in turn can force the price down.  When it climbed in late 2003 we bought and held.  There was very few ways of spending it, plus the difficulty was ripe for the new asics.  It will rise again.  Take comfort while it's still low to buy in.

A new hope for Capitalism wasn't what the blockchain was intended for I'm sure.  Large corporations profitting from the middle class.  Oh well, too bad there wasn't something implemented in the structure to deny this.

Please remember, none of these items are pre-order.  Our sales team and the Marketing team will make the announcement when it is ready.  we are just the techs assisting you guys with the need.

so you're saying you totally overstepped your boundaries 2 months ago while hyping the upgrade to us?

What do you think an upgrade will do? Magically make an S2 profitable? Even 2 months ago it wouldn't have.

I get people want to push Bitmain to follow up on their promises but somehow I just don't see any value in an upgrade now nor 2 moths ago. You pay more to mine how much more?

If it comes let me know the price given the current strategy Bitmain prices for miners are in predatory territory and highly doubt anyone will be happy about the price of an S2 upgrade kit anyhow and then there will be a whole host of people complaining about that if it ever ships. The only reason to put this upgrade out is for Bitmain to turn a profit on the kit. That profit maybe be fair but it certainly doesn't make an S2 profitable to a miner.

What are you really fighting for? Or are you just taking the piss out of Bitmain? If you are ok keep going don't let me stop you.
Yes.  Actually it could be profitable.  With the supposed specs currently it would be the most efficient miner.  Just have to buy the new boards.  Who knows when next gen chips will be out but the kit is almost here without the need of buying a whole new miner.

Ok I use to easily shh into my s4. I use putty shh in then type user and go on to type in my password. I know I'm typing it right but it keeps saying access denied.  Huh

I also have a p2pool public node running http://www.p2pool.org/
Can anyone confirm its up Northeastern USA
Dont have to mine if you dont want to just want to confirm that its up
url=http://10.0.0.251:9332
worker= YourBitcoinAddress/+#  #=difficulty
password=any
Keep track of stats here northeastnode.ddns.net
Open port 8080 on your router...  sometimes its port 80 , it depends on your ddns.net config settings.  Test by yourself from your cell just shut off wifi first.
Edit:  Be careful if this is your home computer and not a web server.

Solar is so last year.... Dilithium is the future.  This way we will "live long and prosper". Grin

Nice find!  That's more informative then these last pages of Huh?.  Speculative, yes, but has me a lil excited to see the prices in 1 month.

Okay here we go I will not and can not develop a miner from that kit.  I am fine with that.

Now for developers, here is the only: question do they want to spend 400 to make a design without knowing chip prices?

That is up to them. Does it encourage a lot of developers no it does not, but how many groups can take the kit and make a miner from it 20?

I have been on this site for years.  As I see it  right now   maybe 20 to 30  could take the kit and make something of it.

Should they pay 400 that is up to those that know they can build something from it.  They also need belive that they will get more chip when they need them at a fair price.

I am still waiting for a plug n play on this  and it still looks to be too little too late.
Seems a reasonable expense for those qualified to do so especially if they receive them a month before Sfards first product ships.

They're great rigs too bad they stopped being cost efficient to run a couple months ago.  Bitmain,  that's why we're hounding you.  These upgrade kits could be great for S2 owners but time is important..... as always.

Nail in the coffin!  The only proof you can come up with is an invoice from your only 2 customers?  How about a picture of your actual stock miners.

Doesn't make you feel to welcomed, could be a sign of the new joint ownership merge.  Unpleasant it is, yes unpleasant.

Actual ASIC Hashing PCB production as an upgrade kit is not that simple.  It is a lot more complicated and extensive man power is required.

Bullshit.  You expect us to believe there's more overhead in one component of a system than the system as a whole?  Quit making excuses (lying), be honest with us.  You've done nothing but kick the can down the road for months.
2nd that!  What Bitmain means is it's hard and they need more manpower to take apart their existing S2 miners in the farm to test the boards.

Gridseeds were gimmicky but sold like hotcakes and they're scrypt machines were solid but pricey.

Well May is almost here.  So mid May or end of May?  Does make a huge difference to us.  Dogie can you chime in?  Tech support still says wait for announcement.
539  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF3301 Specifications Revealed [Updated 14/4/15] on: April 28, 2015, 04:11:54 PM
Companies call it testing for a couple weeks.... ie product may have dust on it.  Who knows maybe they're recouping some cost before they sell it dirt cheap to us.  One can hope.

Also, AJRGale, for us the only difference between "planning" and "doing" is the availability of resources to go from "we have a working prototype" to "we have the money to mass-produce". I'm gonna build the TypeZero. I may not get chips from Bitmain or enough money to run a production batch, but I'm gonna get it all the way to working prototype anyway because it's worth doing. The stick miner is a test/dev milestone turned into an actual product because enough people want it. The Amita is a test/dev milestone that'll be a product if enough people want it. But the only reason this project thread exists is because I made up my mind to build the TypeZero and I'm doing it.

The idea of this USB miner isn't just to have fun, but to have a powerful and flexible tool for n00bs to learn the basics with and not have to sink big money on big machines and PSU hardware. And even then there aren't a lot of miners that allow you to play with under- and over-clocking and volt-modding from the get-go. Being the most efficient miner available, and the most powerful stick miner yet made, is only a side-effect from Bitmain having a pretty good chip.
And don't forget about the flashy led thingys we all like to look at.  Is that still in the plan?
