Put me back on ignore please and stop inciting panic where calm heads are called for.
shhhh… truth hurts. question: if you've been told that BitFunder is closing AND you've previously been asked to push your shares to AMC-TENDER… than why haven't you?

After yesterday's announcement, if you're still on BF, please consider getting everything out today for gods sake.
Some one tell this muppet to stop with the fud ffs. muppet? you've gotta be kidding me… it's hardly fear, uncertainty and doom, the fucking exchange is closing. Or do you not even know that? At this point, if you're still on BF you're a tool - no ifs, ands or fuds about it.

Question: Ken! What should I do!!?
Answer: follow directions.
Getting BTC and then knowing about and buying these shares is not a simple thing to do. It baffles me that one is able to aquire bitcoins, then get in these sites and aquire shares, but can't quite figure out what to do now when it's been perfectly outlined for weeks.
|
|
|
no BTCT no bitfunder and NO HAVELOCK.
just be patient, day traders.
|
|
|
On the plus side, this means my share transfer will have to go ahead without my assistance given my inability to log in to bitfunder.com.
Ken, I would suggest retaining dividend payments until this debacle is sorted. As a long term (since IPO) shareholder of AMC I couldn't care less about day traders and speculators and the situation they are in. If I can't sell my shares for a month or two it makes no difference to me.
I'm relatively lucky that I only have 1btc in my account so the weexhcange.co nonsense isn't going to send me broke. I feel for anyone with significant funds in their accounts.
I don't recall anyone being in danger of losing funds. Lighten up on the FUD.

Important Notice (November 4, 2013) Please be advised that BitFunder is ceasing operations. In connection with BitFunder’s shut-down, please note the following points, which supplement the points outlined in BitFunder’s October 8, and October 11, 2013 notices: * As of November 14, 2013, no BitFunder user will be able to enter into any new positions or sell positions on the BitFunder website.
* BitFunder users are encouraged to transfer their shares from the BitFunder site to the respective issuer(s) no later than December 1, 2013.
* As of December 2, BitFunder will initiate a transfer from the BitFunder site to the respective issuer(s) of any remaining shares held by BitFunder users, and will provide the issuer(s) with the public bitcoin address associated with the user account. After transfer, each user will need to work with the issuer(s) with respect to the future treatment of the shares.
* On December 2, 2013, bitcoin balances in the accounts of all users will be transferred to their WeExchange accounts.
* As of the date of this notice, BitFunder is not assessing any new fees against any BitFunder user.
* Notwithstanding the shut-down, the site will remain available for viewing and users will be able to request records from BitFunder until at least December 15, 2013.
BitFunder appreciates your understanding in these matters.
I will be making a detailed post explaining more later on. I know this will be hard for some of you, but please try to hold off on the conspiracy theories until then.
Thank You, Ukyo
not a surprise.

https://www.havelockinvestments.com/20131101-announcement.phpFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 1, 2013 - Havelock Investments (HavelockInvestments.com), a leading Bitcoin Denominated Investment Fund, announced today that it has executed a definitive agreement to be acquired by The Panama Fund, S.A, a fully licensed and registered Panamanian Investment Company. The acquisitions creates the world's first, fully licensed, Bitcoin Denominated Fund Exchange, where companies from around the world will be able to raise capital directly, through the exclusive use of Bitcoins. With this acquisition HavelockInvestments.com will be able to maintain its current Funds, as well as expand its operations, while attracting new opportunities in the rapidly expanding Bitcoin Marketplace. The original HavelockInvestments.com team will remain in place and will play a key role in the future growth of the company. Please tell me Ken is now considering using Havelock! boy oh, I'm kinda torn.... I'd like to have access to other options, but I'm sick of transferring stuff allover the place. PLUS - I like where Colored Coins are heading: DECENTRALIZE everything. EDIT: just took a peek around Havelock, the interface is carp crap.

The only thing is, I just realised if you wanted to reinvest the divs into more shares that may not be possible on BF? mmmmm
EDIT-
looks like that would be OK for Verified users:
On December 2, 2013, all bitcoin balances in the accounts of users that BitFunder knows to be U.S. persons and users that did not obtain "Verified" status by December 1 will be transferred to their linked WeExchange accounts.
EDIT2-
And obviously from today you can't trade unverified (haven't tried yet) so the above is a side issue really. If you don't want to re-invest, your divs will be moveable/automatically moved to WeExchange - I'm guessing every week by Ukyo? Seems a lot of work for him. Surely he might have to block divs for non-verified users to stop btc building up in their account? Either that or ignore the divs?
I thought you're in the UK? trading and DRIP shouldn't be a problem if you get yourself verified.

I'm holding for the divs so am not concerned with being able to trade so was keeping them in BF until there is a clear alternative. Sound OK?
excellent choice Really? I'm not sure if you are being serious. You mean holding for the divs? No really, as far as I know divs can go either to BF accounts or to public bitcoin addresses (i.e. direct shares)... We'll know Wednesday

Is there a described mechanism for transferring shares from BitFunder to Crypto-Stocks?
Sell on BitFunder, buy on Crypto-Stocks. But the consensus is good luck finding a seller on C-S if you are after any kind of volume. Everyone is so gun shy around bitcoin in general and securities in particular... I'd venture to speculate that there's going to be a long wait period before we see any decent implementation of a decentralized (colored coins, etc.) exchange, with enough community trust, to be up and running at full volume... TL;DR: direct shares and no daytrading for awhile.

doesn't seem like that's going to happen.

Thank you, exactly what I needed. Gratitude = BTC tip sent.
awe thanks, much appreciated

I've read the thread and I've Googled the term "signing", and there is no clear explanation of how to sign anything from a bitcoin wallet, or which wallets let you do it.
Help a non-computer engineering brother out, please
Also, when the time comes, Ken will most likely provide brief instructions on what he requires from you to sign and verify a message using your bitcoin address. It's not computer science, don't worry.

Can someone do something bad with the data?
Of course not, please pm me your Drivers License, Passport, and a Utility Bill. Theres nothing malicious I can do with that data. I don't have a passport, but tell me, what can be done with a name and an address? "they'll" come over and eat your brains...
