521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XMY] Myriad 0.11.3.1 | Upgrade | 1st Multi-Algo | New algo (yescrypt) on: April 23, 2017, 10:08:07 PM

hmm random guy? Let's find out the name of that guy...ah found it! "Bryce Weiner" correct?
Let's see whether he is that random in the cryptocurrency world..

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=847777.0

A couple of years ago Bryce Weiner said some company hired him to do a talk about a Myriad airdrop in Brazil, which never happened. Before or since then, Bryce had nothing to do with Myriad.

Here is a good article where you can see for yourself about the fairness of altcoin mining schedules: https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20170112060242/http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=a_massive_investigation_of_instamines_and_fastmines_for_the_top_alt_coins

As you can see, Myriad was fairly launched, and this is actually very rare. Less than 10% of altcoins are fairly launched. You can also confirm this yourself using a block explorer, of course.

Also note that the original dev, 8bitcoder, is still around after 3 years and posts regularly on /r/myriadcoin ...

Nice article MyriadAngel. Myriad got a very nice mention, especially considering how poorly most did. It's a shame the author didn't continue with the work. He was an ordinary investor basically sharing his research if I remember correctly. Shame it wasn't picked up on by the BCT community either - the original thread would have been the place to do it.  Wink  But, it's called lack of time. That's the problem we all have. A bit outdated, but very good nonetheless. Mandatory reading in my opinion. Ah, and here's the thread too: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=587086.0

Success has its drawbacks.

Mining is producing 1/4 to 1/2 what it was yielding before.

I'm Sad for me but  Smiley for DGB.    Cool

https://i.imgur.com/6RVJvfw.jpg

BTW, the stop loss on the 15 minute chart "extension" is 87 SAT. Crypto has a strong tendency to break these "red line" levels, technically breaking the trade, and then continuing after shaking people out (we see lots more of 76.4 level stuff in crypto - more indicative of speculative and emotional markets than stable markets). It's very common. With as healthy as I see DGB, I wouldn't be banking on too much of that on the longer term time frames - so don't hold your breath - but on the 15 minute, perhaps the odds are much better that those stops at 87 SAT get "run" . . . and that would be exactly what would take price down into 82 SAT where you'll get filled on the 2 hour time frame (longer term).  Grin

Have fun learning, and good investing to you (because, when it's all said and done, I'm not suggesting you become traders, just that you become better long term investors by improving your entry points).

Very interesting the chart you analyzing above. i would to see you next speculations on coming up..chart

At the top of this page the most recent and there were one or two more comments in between.

The setup is the same. Pennant inside a measured move uptrend with 82 being the 50% where bulls take long positions (and it looks like they're lining up in that area).

If the trend breaks, then it'll be the full half way back (last chart of the original post).

Poloniex take an action which has to be an reaction!!!

Please leave polo as I did and little bit force them.

Step1 Turn your all coins into XMG,

I bought XMG in polo with my all BTC and other altcoins.

Step2 Witdraw as XMG to other marketplaces.

So at the total I withdrawed 2 times more what I send to poloniex in XMG in 2 years.
If all community do this in this way, Poloniex will be in need to buy XMG from other sources what will be painfull for them.

It seems like we are at the point that talking with them is pointless so let the XMG talks Wink

Interesting idea. You got me thinking. Just make sure you keep their withdrawal limits factored in so you can get it all off before April 2.

And what will they do with everything that isn't withdrawn? Pocket it?

525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★DigiByte|极特币★★[DGB]✔ DigiSync v6.14.2 - DigiSpeed - Segwit -DiguSign on: April 22, 2017, 10:09:14 PM

Looks like everyone's on holiday. I know nothing about the Chrome extension other than I think it was depreciated, but I'm not sure. Wait until Monday office hours or send them an email, tweet, message in a bottle.  Cheesy

Mining groestl? Are we to assume you have the hardward and software correctly configured? (If not, it would be better to consult about that in their corresponding places). Have you tried https://www.miners-pool.eu/pools/digibyte%20-%20groestl ? If not, give them a try if only to baseline.

Current 1 hour Price Chart looks very bullish. That much I do know.  Wink

I would definitely be an MYR buyer if the dev showed up and told what is being worked on.

"Dev" is 24/7 online, keeping up all his clones.
Not sure if Myriad "dev" created more account names at bitcointalk or cloned coins.....

Untrue FUD.

FUD? Sure  Wink

Go ahead and show your evidence.  Otherwise, speculation and FUD.

Already did, better do your own research.
I can give you a hint to begin with: Check the other known sockpuppets accounts of 8bitcoder, and the coins related to those accounts
For example: Quark, Zeta, Joulecoin etc..

That's a serious accusation. You need to substantiate.
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★DigiByte|极特币★★[DGB]✔ DigiSync v6.14.2 - DigiSpeed - Segwit -DiguSign on: April 22, 2017, 02:30:47 PM

Hey everyone,

I see you're all asking good questions. Some of the information is out there already, but I'm sorry I don't have the time to help out just now . . .

. . . with SegWit and all the particulars regarding this release, generalizations are not recommended . . .

Keep asking, doing your research, and posting the links back to the answers you find (those who have time . . . maybe next weekend I'll have more), and hopefully we'll get some Dev responses too. Definitive answers are always welcomed.  Smiley

Edit: I'm wondering, those of you who are on Telegram, is there any activity there? Does anyone know about the status of https://digiexplorer.info/ ? Ect.

Edit: Since writing that, it occurred to me that the contact form message on the website could be used for important questions http://digibyte.co/contact or even the Dev email directly dev@digibyte.co
528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★DigiByte|极特币★★[DGB]✔ DigiSync v6.14.2 - DigiSpeed - Segwit -DiguSign on: April 22, 2017, 02:23:04 PM

Hmm, well I don't agree with the reward change after 48 days either, or other subsequent changes. But I suppose DigiByte needs a way to fund its projects such as DiguSign and segwit upgrade... Every project can choose its own methods. I think Myriad has done pretty well with community-funded development so far. Good luck.

You're right again.

I wasn't trying to be precise - 48 hours - 48 days - then the great flood. It was metaphorical. DigiByte doesn't have a "halving period" like most others . . .

. . . was 0.5% reduction every 10,080 blocks . . . now production decreases 1% every month.

I don't try to be exact, that's the Devs' jobs . . . I'm not a dev and was just sharing "general" truths in a generalized way . . . without splitting hairs . . . and I think we got the general idea . . . but thanks anyway . . . not always a bad idea to bring all the little details to the surface . . . perhaps something I should have done to begin with . . . good job.

But again, just so everyone knows, I don't pretend to be the definitive expert on anything here. Just trying to help out where and when I can.

Of course, all these details are all on page 1. Wink

Cheers,
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★DigiByte|极特币★★[DGB]✔ DigiSync v6.14.2 - DigiSpeed - Segwit -DiguSign on: April 22, 2017, 11:48:48 AM

And the subsidy of DigiByte mined in the first 48 hours was the same scheduled for the first 48 days, as it were (i.e. no pre-mine, no instamine, just the exact same reward as what everybody continued to get until the first reward reduction).

My friend, the blockchain tells a different tale.

You're right. Sorry about that. It was so insignificant and transparent that I completely forgot about it (since it pales in comparison with what we normally think of when talking about a pre-mine or instamine).

Shouldn't this site state that Segwit is active now? https://segwit.digiexplorer.info/
No, Segwit is now Locked In and it will now take a week of being Locked In before we go Active.

Jumbley,

Could you forward this. I've forgotten who the contact is . . . and with it not being possible to securely enter the site, I have no way of finding out.

TIA

The issue is a lapsed certificate, it's not really a security issue. The owner of the site, Eric, is aware of this but isn't going to do anything about it as far as I know. the site is reference only really and should not cause a problem to anyone but I wouldn't pass any personal information over it all the same.

Okay.  (Wonder why he just doesn't disable https if it's just reference only? No big. Just thinking out loud. Doesn't really matter. Was looking for the Rich List which probably isn't up anyway. We need to get a third party explorer for DGB . . .)

Thanks.

Received a reply from Poloniex.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately from time to time however, we must make a call whether to keep a market or to remove it. I am afraid that there is not a single metric that we use but rather several factors that weigh in to this final decision. As much as we would like to keep the markets that we chose to list, it is inevitable that some will have to be removed at some point. I am afraid MAGI is one of these on this occasion.

Interesting article in regards to Polo and potential manipulation...

https://coinidol.com/suspicion-of-insider-trading-at-poloniex/

Glad to see it. Let's see if we can bring a little law and order to crypto!

Thanks for posting.

@8bitcoder, It wouldn't be a bad idea to pop in once in a while, especially when it's important. Wink

In bittrex Whales probably notice segwit because the volume is growing. So, today, segwit comes in?

100 SAT is a big psychological barrier. Will it turn into first big support? Have fun watching it.

More importantly, have fun celebrating SegWit!   Cool   Grin   Cool   Grin   Cool   Grin   Wink   It's locked-in. Will go active in 7 days.

Congratulations to the Lead Dev and Founder of DigiByte, Jared Tate.

You know, although you are much younger than I am, I still look up to you! You are an example for everyone to follow!

Thanks for always surprising us so much by always outdoing yourself!

And equally emphatic congratulations to the entire DigiByte team
       - everybody who directly contributed to this release -
on a job extremely well done!

The term “project” is loosely thrown about in crypto as though simply using the word makes something a project. That’s obviously not the case with DigiByte. Without the slightest doubt, DigiByte is one of the few that really meets the definition of “project”, and when we add “widely distributed” and “secure” to the mix, I think we can safely say that DigiByte is part of a group that can be counted with the fingers of one hand.

Great work DigiByte!

Congratulations! We have SegWit Locked-In!

https://segwit.digiexplorer.info/

I believe we are the 1st to achieve SegWit SoftFork LockIn?

We are showing the crypto and Bitcoin community that it is possible.

Thanks to our Multi Algo POW we were able to achieve a whopping 93.82% consensus.

Ok so I have a few questions about Digibyte....

1.) How many digibyte do you need to run a masternode?

2.) What were the two previous names of this coin before you settled on Digibyte?

3.) What % of Digibyte was mined within 48 hours of release?

Thanks.

Did you make a mistake with the thread you were posting to? None of those questions are applicable to DigiByte. There are no masternodes. There were no previous names. And the subsidy of DigiByte mined in the first 48 hours was the same scheduled for the first 48 days, as it were (i.e. no pre-mine, no instamine, just the exact same reward as what everybody continued to get until the first reward reduction).

Short answers:

1.) Not applicable
2.) Not applicable
3.) Not applicable

Could digibyte hit 1$ after segwit?

Long story short NO Smiley

Buy who knows, everything is possible. Market cap is low for some whales...

Let's go for 0.10 first Smiley

It's going to huge to be one of the first to implement segwit. However, the real win will come once the devs start taking advantage of the code. It's nice to see the coin statement as to what segwit can bring forward with this coin - as this will bring the long term significant growth. If the devs stay active the sky is the limit - can you see DGB as a major market player in the smart contracts space?  I can!  Anything is possible for the first implementers of segwit Smiley

I know devs have said watch for rapid updates in the first months following segwit, but do we know what the major developments will be?  Have they released a roadmap?  If not, they should, as soon as Segwit is fully activated Wink

Perhaps smart contracts with DiguSign will be the first? I'm just guessing, and I'm sure that your guess, or anyone else's guess, is just as good, since I'm sure that whatever it is. it will just be the first in a long line of developments.

423 high quality, knowledgeable, active and committed contributors https://github.com/digibyte/digibyte/graphs/contributors

Just imagine what this group of contributors actively involved in DigiByte development will be able to do! I'm confident that the development and transformation of DigiByte over the next few months will leave us with our heads spinning.

I'm confident that we'll be looking back asking ourselves, "who would have thought? We'll be saying "Wow!"

People will be saying: "Now this is what crypto was meant to be!"
