I would definitely be interested.
I was only able to get the deal on one room after all. You're welcome to crash on the floor; I'll be there Fri, Sat, and Sun night.

The size of the vehicle I rent could change if several bitcoiners need a ride. As of right now, I'm planning on getting the most fuel efficient I can find.

I'll be going. Accommodations yet to be determined but I'm working on a good deal that I may be able to share with a bitcoiner or two for a few bitcents.

This topic is primarily for my benefit but anyone looking for travelling companions is welcome to use it.
I'm thinking about driving to San Jose from San Antonio leaving May 15th or 16th and returning May 20th. I'll be renting a vehicle for the trip. It's a 24 hour drive and having another driver (or more) to switch off with would make the trip much easier. Anyone in the San Antonio or Austin area willing to split the costs and driving time with me?

For what it's worth, you write eloquently, pulling the reading into what you have to offer oppose to others claiming to have the next-best-thing, then expressing it as how a 10-year-old would write. Bravo!
Futurama Fry: Not sure if that was a compliment or insult. That's my reaction to pretty much everything Phinnaeus writes.

Hi!
Please correct me if I am wrong but from what I see, bitcoin allows 100% protection for the merchant but 0% protection for the customer. So, if we would send 780bitcoins to purchase avalon IC we just need to pray that they will deliver. If they will not deliver it's just tough.
Is this correct?
Bitcoin doesn't "protect" anyone. All it does is remove the central authority that allows someone to decide that a transaction should be reversed. There is no single person or entity with the power to undo a confirmed transaction.

dts, even considering that possibility will now give me nightmares for the rest of my days. I'll refrain from quoting your post in the hopes you will delete it but I'm afraid the damage has been done and I will never be able to un-think that terrible thought.

These are cool shirts. I plan to buy one sometime in the future, so I'll definitely keep your site in mind. Do you think you could ever do custom shirts? I've always wanted to buy a shirt with Bitcoins and put the block number and/or my wallet address on the shirt so that anyone who sees it could look up when I bought the shirt on the block chain You could always use a QR code of the transaction ID url at blockchain.info or blockexplorer.com

Nice! If no one finds your first cache before Friday, I might just make a trip from San Antonio to look for it. First feedback, hooray! This is all stored in a centralized wallet, you are correct. I thought the centralized wallet would allow me to abstract the bitcoin concept and make it more user friendly for people who are new to bitcoin. Also, for the speed and ease of use of the game I wanted any scannable QR code in the world to be convertible into a cache and not require users to print out QR codes and leave them places. That way most of the work is already done by people who have placed QR codes around for their own purposes. I think that is what you were getting at with your feedback.
I think this is the same problem I ran into with CryptoBill.com. From what I can tell, your idea is easier to use (as long as you have the app) but still relies on a significant number of bitcoin enthusiasts willing to give away bitcents. There is also the trust issue but I don't think it's a deal breaker - deposits shouldn't be significant and theft would be counterproductive.

Sorry, I usually don't skim through threads and post running on so little sleep. I understand why the attempted transaction can still be cancelled.

What are you all talking about? Transactions are irreversible, remember?

I received the same email at a gmail address created for a Bitcoinduit profile here. I was only offered $10. If you search for members by email address using a wild card, you get a list of every profile with a public email address.

10/10 trolling I think it's an interesting approach to the inconveniences associated with trading precious metals. Probably needed some community vetting before publicly soliciting a programmer, however.

This seems like a service tailor made for bitcoiners. I've often been concerned that something might happen to me before I've fully explained to my wife how to retrieve the bitcoins we have in various wallets and scattered around the internet. I probably wouldn't detail all the information in an email, but I might let her know what to look for so that she knows when she's accounted for them all. If I want to re-schedule an email, would I need to cancel it first, or could the time be edited after I've set it up? (BTW, I've added you're site to The Bitcoin List under the Data Storage category.)
