5201  Other / Meta / Re: Re: 10th anniversary art contest on: November 17, 2019, 03:31:06 AM
Thank you for your opinion sir, I posted it because there are no specific rules for posting an old artwork. What we cannot do is steal other's artwork and posted it to the contest. <...>

To my mind, new artworks should be in priority, otherwise the contest will turn into an exhibition of old ideas, without the need to create something fresh.
Also you had raised an interesting question, whether the painting 'Crypto guy' that you posted can be rightfully considered yours.
Despite the fact that you are the author, but after you sold it to TECSHARE, then now it belongs to him practically.
I understand your opinion sir, and I respect it. Smiley

I am local artist here in Philippines and attended several auction and seminars about art. Yes, the painting will be still mine as long as it is existed. The physical painting will be for TECSHARE, he can sell it for any amount and I don't have control for that, but when he is going to sell it, the credits will be in my name. It will be considered mine as long as it is existed, but I will have no rights for any activity that painting will be involved with. That is actually a good question sir  Smiley Thank you.  Cheesy

BTW,  I am making a new one for the contest.  Cheesy
I hope this will be finished today.  Cheesy Cheesy

5202  Other / Meta / Re: Re: 10th anniversary art contest on: November 17, 2019, 01:16:22 AM
In my opinion, users should warn from the very beginning when they publishing their old paintings, that have been done before the contest, because it certainly places other participants in unequal positions.

Otherwise some talented cryptocurrency artist may show old works and win without making any effort during the current competition.

For example, one member received 165 merit at this moment for the picture which has been painted and sold in 2018.

Thank you for your opinion sir, I posted it because there are no specific rules for posting an old artwork. What we cannot do is steal other's artwork and posted it to the contest. I understand what your point is, but just like what Theymos said:

No, it's just for fun, not for any particular purpose, so there's no strict criteria.

Let's just enjoy the contest, let's just have some fun! If there's a rule for being unable to post an old artwork, I will not do it. and besides I am making a new one, so I hope you are gonna like this one  Cheesy
BTW, thank you for mentioning that sir! so now I have a chance to explain myself for doing that  Smiley

Those who publish their old work may deliberately not explain if the work has been published. Because they think they will definitely get more appreciation. Meanwhile, for works that are actually just made a little, they get an appreciation. The jury must be more selective in determining who deserves to be a winner.

There's no need to explain that in the thread because there's no rule stopping us from doing that. I don't post it for appreciation I posted it for the contest. If you appreciate my artwork, I would be pleased! But if not, it's just fine, I cannot force people to like my artwork we have different kind of taste with regards to an artwork.

I understand if you didn't like my painting, we have a different perspective in terms of appreciating an art. Still, I gave my 100% to that, and I hope you can understand that. Just because it's old artwork, it doesn't mean I don't put effort into it.
5203  Economy / Economics / Re: Any ideas of what we lack in crypto world? on: November 16, 2019, 03:04:12 PM
Instant transactions and no fees at all. Those two are prominent features that need to be implemented to bitcoin. Bitcoin(crypto) is not applicable for a canned transaction because it takes too much of your time, and the fee will be too large for a micro-transaction. For me, those are the 2 features that need to be upgraded.

Majorly what is lacking is mass adoption. We still have countries setting up regulations against cryptocurrency, Some persons are still skeptical about the genuineness of crypto. While some sectors like Financial sectors, Oil and gas, Agricultural sectors etc are beginning to adopt the use of blockchain in their services. Others are still skeptical. I sited mass adoption because until we can easily exchange Bitcoin or other altcoins for goods and services, only then will other things fall into place.
Mass adoption plays very important role in the success of digital currencies. The major reason behind this is not that people find it difficult to believe in crypto coins but that most of the people are still unaware of their existence. Obviously, we cannot explore what we have not even heard about. Anyway, things are getting better as digital assets are gaining fame gradually. It wont take long before bitcoin and altcoins will serve the purpose of currency.

Crypto is too advance for mass adoption, Imagine not all of us are technology literate. And not all of us have devices and money to avail the internet data for daily use. Those basic needs to use crypto are what stopping an average person from using it in their daily lives. The price is too unstable to serve it as a "normal" currency. Personally, I consider it a form of investment like stocks in the stock market. But who knows what if, in the future. Someone is going to create a coin that will satisfy all of the features that we are looking for. But for now, I think that will not be the bitcoin or any other altcoins.
5204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with Fiat or Crypto? on: November 16, 2019, 12:32:58 PM
I don't have enough time to go outside and gamble in casinos there, so I prefer playing online and of course, using crypto for betting. I am just playing for myself, and I want no hassle when playing, so I prefer gambling at home. Because when I go on the real-world casino's the noise is too much so I can't really enjoy my game. And the other reason is if I win nobody can know, same if I lose, I just enjoy the privacy when playing on online gambling.

But if I will be going out with my friends, I will pick the real-world casinos, because that would be a lot of fun instead of all of us playing at a computer, haha. In conclusion, when I will be alone, I like it online(crypto), but when I am with my friends, I love going to physical casinos(fiat).
5205  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Scams are a global issue on: November 16, 2019, 03:24:01 AM
Crypto or fiat scams are global issues, every type of currency has scamming matters, and I think crypto will not be exempted from those issues. ICO's project is needed to be regulated because on what I see on the bounty section, there's a lot of scam project. And a lot of them are requiring KYC, so every participant should be careful when participating in those.

Indeed, if the turnover of cryptocurrency in your country is not regulated legally, then in fact all the risks of its use fall on your shoulders. This is a big problem because scammers can get access to your cryptocurrencies and the police will not deal with this incident. It is necessary to strictly comply with all the rules on the use of cryptocurrencies and not to contact questionable people.

So the participants and the users are the ones that should be cautious about those projects or scammers.
5206  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did you start trading? on: November 16, 2019, 02:29:12 AM
I am added to a group chat of traders and started to trade. I didn't watch any videos or tutorial. I just tried it with a small amount of money and started trading. I started trading at C-Cex. That's not a big exchange and does have a lot of shitcoins, but that's where they introduced me. After that, I am learning over time, and I transfer to the big exchange like poloniex and binance.

I just start watching videos and reading tips, when I put a big amount of money in every trade that I will make. After that, I begin doing leverage trading at Bitmex, and until now, I am doing different kinds of trading. Not every day is a win, but I enjoy doing trades, and until now, I am still learning.

5208  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Be careful with margin trading. (story) on: November 14, 2019, 07:57:33 AM
I realize margin trading is very high risk, only traders who can't be separated from their computers can do it. because in my opinion opening a margin trading should not be left alone let alone careless it will be worse. only do margin trading if the mind is calm and not in high emotion, so trading will be better. even if one predicts it will determine the stop loss faster.
Margin trading is like gambling when you don't know what you are doing, Just make a trade when you are sure about something, or you read the news that will really affect the price of the coin that you are going to trade. Regarding the emotion, you need to know when to stop and when to just go with your profit, because just one big dump will liquidate your funds. And the most important part is don't go all in, in margin trading.
5209  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of banking industry in blockchain on: November 14, 2019, 06:16:07 AM
I don't think it's gonna happen, because the purpose of the bank is security if someone accesses your account it can be detected quickly, and the transaction is reversible so that if someone scam you, you can get your money back. Those main features of a bank are not available on the blockchain, so for me, it's not gonna happen.

For blockchain, the primary purpose of it is decentralization! If the bank implements it in their system, then the "decentralization" will not gonna happen, because the bank will be the middle man again. Blockchain is just fine with the peer to peer transaction, and I think it's all good
5210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Much Money You Need To Win To Stop gambling, Is This Possible. on: November 14, 2019, 04:52:16 AM
I think this is impossible, because that big gain, usually gets sweet to a man, and only makes his playing worse, and always keeps in mind where he got the money from, and thus puts him back into the stakes. I even think that the opposite helps a man to stop playing, the more he loses gambling, he finds it impossible to win, and so he stops gambling, and whoever takes the big money will again turn to play, for enjoyment, fun, interest
This is what I was thinking also. If I win a large amount of money, I will not stop gambling, but I will just play for entertainment and not for profit so I can enjoy my winnings. But it's almost impossible for me because whenever I win a small amount of money, I will stop betting. And bet again after a few days or even weeks. I am not addicted to gambling, but I will never quit betting because it's part of my life.
5211  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] Get paid 0.0015 BTC to review SwapMixer.com anonymous BTC to LTC swaps on: November 13, 2019, 02:59:41 PM
They are still not paying the three of us. I am also waiting for them to log in.

Have you tried sending the OP a private message?  Who are the other two participants that haven't been paid?

This thread was a mess from the get go.  The OP was multi-posting and had a few posts deleted.  There was no particular order or coherent policy for selecting participants.
GreatArkansas and me. I don't know the name of the other participant, but OP posted:

For the remaining 3, if did complete the steps or we missed you, please private message us.

So, I guess we are three that didn't get the other half of the payment.

Yes, I send him a private message, but there's no reply. I contacted GreatArkansas, same with him, there's no reply.

Any updates on this campaign?
I still didn't received the half of my reward. I am late a little bit for sending a personal message to the SwapMixer account. But I already sent a PM few days ago and I already leave a review about the SwapMixer on their announcement thread.

The SwapMixer's account last active was October 30, 2019. I am still waiting for them.
They are still not paying the three of us. I am also waiting for them to log in.
5213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin isn't just an investment, it is the future on: November 12, 2019, 03:55:45 PM
Bitcoin is not really an invesment, it is designed for us to have instant transaction with low fee. It is designed so that we can have free transactions without anyone knowing who we are. But due to its rising prices and volotile prices, it has become something like the Invesment.

So now that many people have invested in bitcoin and have never seen its true use, it is possible that there are new coins that are better than bitcoin in real use like XRP.
Actually, the bitcoin transaction is slow, and the fee is a little bit higher. Compared to some real-life currency, that has no fee at all doing microtransaction and personal transactions. Like it or hate it, bitcoin is a type of investment just like any other typical investment. But the twist here is. Bitcoin is upgraded and the best to all of the types of investment because bitcoin volatility gives traders a lot of profit. Imagine in stock, it takes years to achieve a 10% increase in price. Still, in bitcoin and any other cryptocurrency, it only takes hours or days to achieve that. Bitcoin is the future regarding the investment perspective. Yet, it's not a suitable medium of exchange. Maybe there's a future coin/crypto that will be created. That will cover all the essentials to become the best cryptocurrency. And as the best medium of exchange that will be suitable for all of us. but for now, I think that will not be Bitcoin
5214  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin is not that good as currency? on: November 12, 2019, 02:37:04 PM
To my opinion first and the main problem is volatility. To be used as a currency Bitcoin should be stable and also centralized, monitored by central financial institution that would impose necessary regulation. No country could benefit from unstable and unreliable currency. The second obstacle is limited number of coins.
However, people use Bitcoin as a currency but it can't be officialy recgonized as such.
Yes bitcoin is not stable and also not good to using it as a currency because not yet recognize to all country. And bitcoin price are going ups and down so it hard to use it as a currency. Because no one can know when the price goes up and down it cause a big problem especially to those have company accepting bitcoin.
For me, bitcoin will never really be a standard currency like any fiat currency. Because it's more like an investment coin. For example, stocks, It has a limited supply and also has pumps and dumps, same with bitcoin. Again "For me," Blockchain is like an upgraded stock market in which every coin have good volatility and has a fast pumping and dumping of it. For stocks, it takes years to get a 10% pump; however, in bitcoin, it only takes days or even an hour.

5216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and tax in your countries on: November 11, 2019, 03:49:18 PM
~

I never knew you can pay Bitcoin in Lazada. I never really shopped there a lot but I am checking it out when it comes to buying an item that I can't find near my area.
I also used PayMaya back in the day when I really need some temporary virtual debit card so that I can buy online without going through much paperworks just to approve my request of getting a debit/credit card.
Well anyways, if I can recall it correctly, those taxes put up into VAT or Value-Added Tax.
I wanted to clear things out about lazada.
They don't accept bitcoin as payment. And I don't hear any news or updates that they started accepting bitcoin as payment.

There's no bitcoin payment in Lazada, but what I think Wintersoldier meant to say is shopee, since they are almost the same. That's what I guess, haha. Shopee is the biggest online shopping app that is accepting bitcoin here in the Philippines (That's what I know, please correct me if I am wrong).

Here in our country Philippines, There's no tax for the user of the bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. But for the establishments and businesses that are using bitcoin as a mode of payment, they have to pay their taxes accumulated with bitcoin, same on the local exchanges of cryptocurrency here.
5217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Addiction at its Worst! on: November 11, 2019, 07:23:47 AM
Gambling addiction is very similar with drug addiction, both have psychological effects once an individual becomes stressed out due to massive loss of funds.

No kind of addiction is good, But I think it's better to be addicted to gambling instead of drugs. At least you are not doing anything against the law, and beside's you are not damaging your health, The only thing that can be damaged is your money! lol
But yeah, any kind of addiction is wrong, but as long as you are not damaging your health or doing something that is against the law, I think you are all good. It's on your self if you want to stop or to do it in moderation.

The worst thing I have done in gambling so far, is to hide my total monthly income to my wife so I could set aside some funds to gamble in sports betting  Grin. Is this a sign of addiction? ? Lol

Mine is after I receive my salary, I go gambling and bet it all in just one bet. The ending is I just lost my 1 month of salary. And after that, I keep on controlling myself when I am betting on something, That bet was a nightmare lol.
5218  Other / Archival / Re: Is KYC benefit to crypto people or not on: November 11, 2019, 06:49:54 AM
Yes, and our information is really valuable to some businesses. Bitmex was also recently condemned for issuing KYC by users to sell to other businesses.
So now providing KYC is really dangerous and we shouldn't do it for a few dollars. Think of the far future and the higher goals.
Trading websites require KYC to maintain their website because that is required by the law. I think our identity is safe on a bigger and legitimate exchange, just like what you said, which is Bitmex. What I don't like is ICO and bounties that are requiring KYC. First of all, they are not proving themselves if they are legitimate or not. And for the user, there's no guarantee that their personal information is safe from those ICO and newly startup crypto business.
5219  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to start trading with 2 BTC? What is the first step? on: November 11, 2019, 05:48:12 AM
First, don't go all-in with your 2BTC, Try Binance with 0.01btc, be familiarize with the trading, and how trading works. After that, when you know to yourself that you can trade now with much bigger capital then increase it little by little, don't treat it as gambling that if you are losing, you are going to go all in. This strategy works for me, and I hope this is going to work with you too.

Remember that do it after you watch or read some basics in trading! Don't go trade empty-handed with knowledge. I am just suggesting this strategy because, for me, the experience is the best teacher in terms of trading, but yeah, read or watch some video first.
5220  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy now Bitcoin today on: November 10, 2019, 05:14:38 PM
I will suggest you that if you are willing to invest in bitcoin then you should wait for some time as we can witness dump situation anytime before the prices go high. The prices can go down to $7000 in that time and it is oppurtunity for investors as prices will cross $15k next year and you will be having huge profits. So study the market before investing your funds.
No need to wait, based on what you said, it is considered a long term investment, Holding it until it hits 15k to 20k will be a good trade. I highly suggest that start investing now and when there's another dump just buy more. Still, I think there will be no more dump that is going to happen. Because, based on the chart history of bitcoin, every December to January, the price will hit the ATH or will simply pump. Don't think anything, and start investing now.
