541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CALL to all major exchanges, temporally waive trading fees, so we can recover on: February 25, 2014, 07:10:50 PM
And this helps how... Here are reasons how that hurts...

1: It stops exchanges from earning, increasing the losses to them, for operation.
2: It makes it easier for people to "take gains" from others, with no costs.
3: It allows more manipulation, using walls and fake-listings that you can just buy back yourself.

End result... No change... Only money and coins change hands, the same volume of money and coins still exists...

But wait... Those who just "earned" may all now "cash-out"... Thus, hurting the market, not helping it.

"Help" fail...
542  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: DONT LET MARK KARPÈLES LEAVE THE COUNTRY! on: February 25, 2014, 07:02:37 PM
All the events are nicely timed. The most likely scenario is that this is true.

When it looks too good to be true...

That is exactly the point... "all events are nicely timed"...
(Constructed, Planned, Executed, and Delivered)
They didn't "just happen", this is a structured event.

Next exchange in the path is BTCe...

(Funny that they avoided the largest volume exchange Huobi. Coincidence, sure... China comes into the market, other markets collapse, makes china look like a great deal to invest in, China wins.)

Quote
Don't worry mtgox is monitoring the situation
And I have no doubts that Gox is being monitored even more than they are monitoring. (Not sure about their ability to monitor, after failing to monitor the malleability issue. But I have no doubt they will find what/who they are looking for.)
543  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: DONT LET MARK KARPÈLES LEAVE THE COUNTRY! on: February 25, 2014, 06:47:30 PM
I don't know why some people are looking to get their money back from gox when they are nearly declaring bankrupty yet people still think they are going to get their money back....... Huh

Show me that declaration... The only one saying gox is bankrupt is some useless blog, and BTCe. I have photoshop and a calculator too.. I can make fake documents, and claim they are from a "reliable source"... Reliable source of shit.
544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if the US creates a competing currency? on: February 25, 2014, 06:40:29 PM
We already have one, it is called BTC

The Govt "uses" the Federal-Reserve... It Govt "is not" the Federal-Reserve... (Endorsement is not ownership. I think that is clear by the actions of the "bitcoin foundation", on Gox, and lack of actions on others.)

The Govt can drop the use of the Federal-Reserve, and use Euro or Yuan or BTC if it wanted to, and make that the only "legal tender".
545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GOX ALIVE: Bitcoins, The Movie... on: February 25, 2014, 06:35:55 PM
Come, on... nothing... Not one comment?

bitcoin is not mtgox.

That was just a side-note... Note removed, to avoid confusion...
546  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC-e statement solid! on: February 25, 2014, 04:58:13 PM
Funny, I see more complaints about BTCe users and potential users, who can't get money out, or BTC out, or had their "secure" accounts hacked...

Even more discomforting is the number of people who have money deposited, that never makes it into BTCe. (Though I am sure it did, it just never gets credited to the account. No wonder why they have so much of an abundance of money to pay the few withdraws that actually happen.)

Seems like a common thing with all exchanges. But than again, I have been here a long time, and know this. Seems a lot of noobs just go right to Gox, and just can't deal with the reality of how "exchanges" work.

No exchange has "proof" of holdings. For all you know, they were all hit by this. They just are not telling you, after seeing what happened to gox, being truthful about the situation.

Facts are still not being presented by anyone. (Care to guess why?)
547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GOX ALIVE: Bitcoins, The Movie... on: February 25, 2014, 04:50:01 PM
But I want comments on the movie, not gox being alive! lol

BTC has been falling since before this started with gox... It is just people cashing-out... Just like normal.

No input on what path the movie should take?
548  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC-e statement solid! on: February 25, 2014, 04:42:56 PM
Funny.. they seem to be directly stating that Gox is bankrupt... That is not even remotely true.

Can't wait to see them get hammered for stating that, without actual proof, that is just slander.

Seems ass to me...

Great, now I know a safe place to dump my coins! lol. Plan fail... They just threw themselves under the bus, and all the customers they have (have left). lol.

"Hey, we got money, feel free to come here and take it!"

Um, Proof, or you are just talking out your ass. They are the next unregulated exchange out the door. Quick send them your money and BTC! While they still have high prices!
549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GOX ALIVE: Bitcoins, The Movie... on: February 25, 2014, 04:36:32 PM
Come, on... nothing... Not one comment?
550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoins, The Movie... on: February 25, 2014, 04:21:59 PM
So when is the movie coming-out...

I am sure all of this drama and FUD will make for a great movie, or a reality show...

Anyone want to help me write the script?

Should it be serious, a comedy, a horror story, a documentary, pure speculation (in the spirit of BTC itself), or just pure FUD (as if all the FUD were actual truth, and real)?

I'll take donations to get started. Make it a fully public world-wide event... But charge for "Day-One" private access before public release... then sell to the rights for those who still watch movies in theaters. Living forever in torrents and YouTube, after that.

Pre-orders now accepted. xD (Seriously)
551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian Bitcoin Users Can Face Jail Time up to 15 years on: February 25, 2014, 04:16:30 PM
Russia=Stoneage

Stones hurt when they hit you!

Rest of world = Technology age

Technology does not hurt so much when it hits you!

Want to buy some technology? I have a bunch for sale... 50% off... All the technology you will ever want! Get some technology now, supply is limited!
552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian Bitcoin Users Can Face Jail Time up to 15 years on: February 25, 2014, 04:14:46 PM
Assuming you want to donate to 8 billion people

There are not 8 billion "users" in the world... Less than a few million... less than...
1 / 0.00000001 = 100,000,000

I should have some to spare... BTW, you don't "have" to pay fees. You can send them free of txfees. Takes forever though, but you can.
553  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-25] REUTERS - Mt Gox CEO says bitcoin exchange is at "turning point" on: February 25, 2014, 04:08:49 PM
This, and the "distancing from the association/foundation", just goes to show you that the "association/foundation", is actually nothing more than ad-space for anyone who pays the price.

They didn't actually "do anything", they don't actually "do anything", they don't actually even have "any power or knowledge"... They are just spectators taking money to slap a useless logo on your site.

Funny that the "association/foundation", distanced themselves, "after the fact".

Hope no-one sends those guys money for anything. Apparently they are a bunch of uninformed CEO's living off your dollar, while actually doing nothing for it. Even when something should have been done, they could not do anything, only run away. Great business plan, looks great for your image guys. Foundations are not supposed to move, unless there is an earthquake. Foundations usually support things, not the other way around. Foundations are usually solid structures for others to build off of, not just a place for your money to land, while you chase-off/evict your tenants.

Foundation fail...

If anyone wants to start a real foundation, let me know.
554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian Bitcoin Users Can Face Jail Time up to 15 years on: February 25, 2014, 03:44:16 PM
I am going to steal one BTC, and send every user in the world 0.00000001 BTC, turning every user into a criminal!

Then Bitcoins will fall!

So, let me get this right...

I am walking down the road, a thief comes and takes my wallet... Now I have just "participated in funding a thief", so I am to be arrested...

I am at a gas-station, behind the counter, that thief comes and buys a pack of cigs... Now I have just "participated in facilitated money laundering", so I am to be arrested...

I am walking down the street, a bum asks for some change, I give him change, he buys a gun and shoots someone... Now I have just "participated in facilitating criminal activity", so I am arrested, along with the guy who sold him the gun, along with the owner of the mall where the guy was shot since he provided the location, along with the guy who sold the bullets, along with the hospital for not arriving fast enough to stop the bleeding, along with the govt for providing the funds which were used for the purchase... Just throw everyone in jail!
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIRcoin - Professional Investment, No Fees, Rising Exchange Rate on: February 25, 2014, 08:52:56 AM

AQaCkRuRNxwEcMBnGBTy7Cha8eGjRXso1C

I didn't get it... send two more, and I'll see if I can locate some form of malleability. Tongue

Sent you a couple blocks-worth of coins, just for fun!
556  Economy / Economics / Re: [ECONOMICS 101] The "You Have Two Cows" Case study on: February 25, 2014, 08:27:34 AM
Anarchy rule
You have two cows
We kill you, kill the cows, eat steak, starve to death afterwords

Cannibal rule
You have two cows
We kill you, eat you, ignore the cows

Kids rule
You have two cows
We tip them at night

Confederate rule
You have two cows
We sell two cows for confederate bills, to the govt.
The northern federation changes money to the federal reserve note, sells us back our cows for double the price by giving us loans for federal reserve notes, taxes us, then refuses to credit our payment of confederate dollars they took, and then creates a war for failure to pay the loan.
Two cows and 100 slaves repossessed by the bank, money still forced to be paid, another loan given as credit.
Free slaves demand minimum-wage for milking cows, you go broke, declare bankruptcy, x-slaves go on unemployment, you collect social-security, kill cows, eat steak. Declare that the war is over. Join the federation.

Ebay:
You have two cows
You see a cow sell on ebay, at auction for $99,999,999.00...
You list your cow as an auction...
Your one cow listing sells with a final winning bid for $0.01, with free shipping, buyer complains it was never delivered, you send him the other cow, he complains to paypal saying you never sent any cows, paypal sides with him, and takes your $0.01 to give back to the guy... You still owe ebay fees of $0.35 for listing the cow.

You buy two more cows... Surely, you think... I will have better luck this time... Just have to sell one cow!

Fail... you got scammed by the same guy again, but seller-protection gives you both $0.01... You now owe only $0.34 for the last listing.

You buy two more cows...

(The guy who listed, and sold, was the guy buying your cows, now selling them back to you. His "winning bid" was never actually paid, because he won it. He just canceled the bid after you saw it and ordered 2 cows from his website.)

Uncle-sam charges you asset-value taxes for each cow sold, at taxes based off $99,999,999.00 per cow.

You declare bankruptcy. They take your house, car, internet, and bill you for the investigation and filing-fees for filing bankruptcy.

You turn into an Anarchist Cannibal and eat people. You now ignore the cows running free, all over.

Dream:
You have two cows.
They fly...
You fly...
You find a case of money, and hide it under your bed...
You start falling, just before you hit the ground, you wake-up...

You still look under the bed, just incase it wan't a dream...

Then you log-in to ebay, and see that a cow sold for $99,999,999.00 in an auction...

You buy two cows, the dream must have been a sign!

Windows:
You have two cows.
Next year those will be unsupported, but get updates so they produce less milk, to secure your desire to purchase 2 new V2.0 cows that produce the same milk at twice the cost.
Next year there is a security voulnerability found in V2.0 cow, which mysteriously made it produce less milk than the 2 original cows, so it is patched to V2.1 but still produces less than the previous 2 cows, but slightly more than the V2.0 cows, at an even greater expense.
Next year cows are obsolete, you must now use 1 goat, and it costs 4x the price, produces more than V2.1 cows, but not as much as the original 2 cows one did.
You find a way to make cheese, which is more rewarding, so a new patch is released, Goat V1.1, which halves your output again. Milk drinkers now suffer from lack of calcium in their diet, and gastro-intestinal issues from cheese. Microsoft blames Linux, Sues Apple for making a dedicated cheese app that makes 2x more cheese and 4x more milk.
New OS Bat-milk V4.5, followed by a patch for Cow V1, Cow V2.1, Goat V1.1, which makes them fail at loading the internet.
557  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why are BTC prices not moving ? on: February 25, 2014, 07:51:49 AM
All Aboard!!!

The one on the right is way hotter than left
I agree.. that guy is not hot at all!
558  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-06] Now official: using Bitcoins is completely illegal in Russia on: February 25, 2014, 07:41:59 AM
So Russians can't use paypal, USD, EUR, CC's, Crypto-coins, e-gold, WOW-gold, IMVU-credits, Lindens or facebook-coins...

Isn't BTCe operating out of Russia...

They said they can't be used as "currency replacement", not "assets".

Crypto-coins (despite the term "coins"), are not intended to replace currency. They depend on currency, like any other asset. I think they are trying to say that "they do not have to be accepted to pay debts", which is what a currency is for. "legal tender, which MUST be accepted for payments". As an asset, it is optionally acceptable for you to use. However, since it is not "legal tender" or "currency", you would still have to "make tax payments in currency", not "bitcoins". Just as you can't pay "Credit" as a tax payment. You have to pay the "currency they accept, or a currency acceptable substitute". For them, there is no substitute except the denomination they control. (Unlike in the USA, you can pay in EURO, however, it could still be refused. Bitcoins however, would never be accepted, at the moment, for government payment... except when they want to take them from you, to cash-in for themselves. Then, all of a sudden, it is OK to use them, for them.)

I am not translating Russian law, I am just assuming, as an American, that they did like every other place, and simply identified crypto-coins as "non-currency". To cover their asses, unless something changes, and they decide it is good to use it, even if only to keep Russian funds within their own country. Which is a task that banks can't seem to manage.
559  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gox is making a comeback... on: February 25, 2014, 07:17:04 AM
I don't know what you are talking about... Gox has held steady at $135/BTC for hours now... Can't be any more stable than that!
560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Due to gox there are circa 500K~1M less coins to buy. on: February 25, 2014, 06:19:58 AM
For as long as these thefts have been going on, there have been more bitcoins in circulation than there "should" have been. This artificially lowered the price.

Not sure if you are aware.. but more than half the total BTC has been mined... only about 1/100th of them are on the exchanges... There is plenty in the "wild", to go around. There is more than enough BTC floating around to wipe all exchanges down to $0.0000001/BTC if they wanted to. (It is easier when prices are high, becaue it takes a lot less BTC to bring it down faster.)

All exchanges have been dumped on, prior to this, and before this started...

Why would a thief dump on the exchange he stole from... He wouldn't... That is illogical, especially if he stole all the BTC.

Thus, this is all just more crap. lol
