Well done. Interesting choice of cabling! they do look a bit to hard for testing boards? Cant you easily rip the connections with these?

The documentation for the chips is going to take two more weeks  Tongue
Right, so without documentation, they can sell 1TH chips for all they care, without documentation how can they expect orders?
Will they send sample chips upon order placed? I believe this is the only way for board developers to be able to test their boards..
I have my doubts about this whole setup.. it just feels like, a SETUP!
Will follow though.

My idea of creating boards with Snap in sockets for chips is not a good idea?
This way we wont need to send our chips to burnin, and we can easily mount the chips ourselves..
I imagine heating could be a problem as they are creating space from the board if the cooling is mounted underneath the boards.

I have i question about this image

It shows that the AVALON chips are at the top of the board and radiator is on the bottom. It is correct or a mistake or am I missing something?

The chips put the heat at the bottom. They are designed this way. The pcb itself is a bad heat transporter so in the pcb are vias included that transport the heat through the pcb. Then on the other side the heatsink takes the heat and is cooling the chip.
Learned in BKKCoins-Thread... Smiley

Makes perfect sense to me. Imagine replacing one faulty chip, with all that sticky paste to get rid of.
This way, they are all easy accessible.
One thing i thought of, why dont you have these snapmounts put on the boards? that way we can all mount the chips with our thumbs in each socket. Or will it induce cooling problems raising the chip from the board?

Batch 6 around the corner? Grin

No need. First counter of 5000 chips, are down to when he places the order (to shorten the queue for us), then there will be a new counter that closes batch 5.

I have suggested to indicate 5000 chips available until order of batch 5. that later updates into 5000 chips remaining until closing of batch 5.

Letīs see if it changes..

and that being said, im sure he will do even up to a batch 100 if orders keep coming in at this pace.

May I suggest an update to the first page in terms of chips available?

Current:
Chips available: 576

Suggested 1:
Chips available to order: 576 (Chips available after order on Batch 5: 5000)

Suggested 2: (when order is placed)
Chips Available: 5000 (First batch of 5000 chips ordered and paid for)

Makes sense?

I see where you're going. For suggestion 2, each batch is 10,000 chips. The second half is being pre-ordered to help with the shipping date.

Suggested 1, would turn into suggested 2, upon order. thats how i wrote it..

if chips is what you want, look for avalon group buys, there's a few already shipped here on the forum.
They have at least delivered in the past, and seems to be trusted. (around 300mhash per chip, and 16 chips per board).

None have shipped, as of last week all monies were still sitting in Bitsyncom's chip buying wallet = ~ 760,000 Avalon chips at Bitsyncom's pricing.

aha. thanks. but BFL selling chips at this stage, potentially providing more difficulty ahead of people ordering products a year ago is horrible.
I doubt they will send a single chip. And do they really do their own?
