541  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there a way ? on: February 20, 2018, 09:57:32 AM
I am about to change job and at the job where I am now they let me use the forum but where I will go they are not that user friendly in this regard.

Is there a way to make a webpage invisible through a keyboard command, I mean making it completely disappear from the screen and to use the same keboard command or combination to bring it back ?

Good luck with your new job. I am sure you will find a way to get around the problem. This might help: https://money.howstuffworks.com/hiding-computer-screen.htm Wink
542  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOW TO EARN FOR BEGINNERS ? NEWBIE HERE on: February 20, 2018, 09:51:09 AM

Hi newbie here. I just want to getting started . May I ask for some assistance? HOW TO EARN FOR NEWBIES  Hoping for good 2018 for me .
Thats All Thank you!

Education is key. Educate yourself pertaining to this space for a more enriching experience. E.g. learn how to get involved in ICOs in a safe manner, learn how to spot scam sites and scammers, learn how to spot first movers in trillion dollar markets, etc. There are plenty of bitcoin and crypto guides available to help you in this journey.
543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Newbie here ! Help me :) on: February 20, 2018, 09:44:24 AM
Any suggestion guys? What crypto wallet should i get first? Is it depends on what crypto that im going to get?

I want to get started . pls help. . Thank you !

Yes, it depends on the cryptos you would like to buy, but it is hard to go wrong with crypto hardware wallets such as Trezor and Ledger Nano S. These are not cheap, but bring peace of mind and convenience.
544  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it too late for the rest of us? on: February 20, 2018, 09:39:48 AM
Those of us who haven't purchased any crypto before, is it too late? Should we even bother trying? I have read the market was falling lately but it seems pretty pumped already. I wonder if there is any room to grow anymore.

Not to worry, there is still plenty of room left for growth. We are pretty much still at the beginning. What you want to do is to look for good projects that aim for trillion dollar markets. E.g. Debitum Network is aiming for one to fill the $2.6 trillion SME credit gap in developing countries. This while projects such as Veritaseum is aiming to enable peer-to-peer capital markets. Trillion dollar markets = huge opportunity.

546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Dogecoin have a future? on: February 13, 2018, 07:52:41 AM
I have never owned a single Dogecoin, but I cannot see why it will fail all of a sudden. It has a strong network effect among other things going for it. To the moon! Grin

P.S. The only failure will be Jackson Palmer - the creator of Dogecoin and his half-assed comments - aimed against Dogecoin and cryptos in general. Talking about a douchebag!
547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Rewards: Sell immediately or HODL? on: February 13, 2018, 06:58:44 AM
I've been doing bounty campaigns only since December 2017.  Not long, in the scheme of things.  But one thing that truly surprised me during the last couple of months is the number of bounty hunters who look to sell their tokens ASAP.  At first, I didn't understand why, but I think I'm beginning to.

For me, I'm doing these bounty campaigns for a bit of fun and to give my mind a bit work to do, creatively speaking.  So my mindset for any bounty tokens is just to HODL and allow the devs to implement their roadmap and take the project through to completion.  I think this will give the best realisation of value on the tokens.  Sure, some may fail and they will likely end up worthless, but since I only invested time, not money, into receiving them, I'm not really worried.

So with that mindset, I struggled to understand why so many people were eager to offload their bounties at the earliest opportunity.

But over the weekend, I sat down and did some calculations on the accumulated bounty rewards I'm expecting to receive.  Each bounty by itself was a modest return, but when combined in totality, it was a sizeable amount.  And that's when it struck me...

Lots of people who live in less fortunate parts of the world, particularly in areas with high unemployment, probably NEED to sell their bounty rewards to put food on the table and pay their bills.

But I really don't know if my assumptions are correct.  So, my question to you is...

Do you sell your Bounty Rewards straight away or HODL?  Any insight into your reasons would be appreciated.

## If this post has been thought provoking for you, I'd really appreciate a bit of Merit in return ##

I normally do a combination of both - because there are bills that need to be paid, but for most part I just HODL since I only get involved in the bounty programs of cryptos that stand to dominate in their niche and/or market segment.
548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Problem on: February 13, 2018, 06:54:20 AM
The problem we now face as a revolution is the fact that people are in the game to make quick money, not to make a difference to the way we interact with money... The market would be more stable if everyones investment stayed for a minimum of 10 years

This is why it is of immense importance that we educate ourselves and help to educate others when it comes to these matters. We have to hack at the root of the traditional banking system.
549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto has gone to shit on: February 12, 2018, 09:36:11 PM
you are absolutely right, there should be a controlling ICO scam, unlike now. too many people are hurt by the scam ICO.

To get the authorities, namely governments and those who control governments, involved will be a huge mistake. The original aim with cryptos was never to be babysitted, especially not by governments and their bankster buddies. Cryptos should be the primary vehicles of a non-violent revolution that in turn enables peer-to-peer trustless (bankless) transactions within peer-to-peer economies driven by decentralized blockchains. A revolution that aims to free people from the shackles of centralized banking and corrupt governments – the primary enablers of wars, pain, poverty and chaos.

Make no mistake: What they cannot outright ban, they will regulate out of existence or to the ultimate benefit of a select few. The same ones who are hell-bent to make our lives a living hell here on earth.

Ask yourself: Where were the authorities when millions of people lost money in all of the fiat-based Ponzi schemes out there, including the Federal Reserve system - a legalized system of theft, murder and usury - with its half-assed dollar? Why are cryptos so attractive in the first place - is it because the authorities get to babysit? I think not.

The solution is to embrace truly decentralized cryptocurrencies - and most importantly, to educate ourselves and to take personal responsiblity for our actions.

Scams everywhere now. Greedy ICOS that for some reason need 20 million dollars for a small project, Ridiculous.  Greed everywhere, thousands of coins that serve no purpose.  This is so far removed from satoshi's vision.  Premine bullshit  scams like onion.  Projects that have no reason to be on a fucking blockchain except to cash in money on the hype.  We need another fucking crash to clear out these shitcoins and scams, and you greedy mfer ICO devs are the cause of this bullshit.

Yes, a lot of it has gone to shit. That is the bad news. The good news is that a shake up is in progress. However, I would not place the blame squarely on ICO devs. It takes two to tango.
551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need an Investment advice on: February 12, 2018, 09:05:30 PM
I say first of all stay away from ICO's. I tried them and most I my gains come after they release the coins and everyone dumps the first batch. Also remember to diversify. That way you can minimize losses.

Or to get in during ICOs, especially pre-sales, and be a good HODLER. Grin
552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: MyCrypto or MyEtherWallet on: February 12, 2018, 08:58:55 PM
MEW
MyCrypto made a really bad move by hijacking MEW twitter's handle
Even better, use MEW + Metamask
Such an awesome extension

It rubs me the wrong way as well. A fresh start would have been better. I am sure MyCrypto would have attracted many twitter followers in no time. Now it seems they're trying to piggy back off a crypto household name in an underhanded manner. Frankly, it is not the best way to build and/or expand confidence in either MyCrypto or MEW. I don't know what they were thinking. Why didn't MEW made an announcement or two on their twitter page only to say that healthy competition in the form of MyCrypto has now entered the market? Why hand over MEW's twitter handle? Or did the partner really hijacked it?

P.S. Part of me is hoping that a viable, reliable competitor to both MyCrypto and MEW will surface soon. Assuming such has not already surfaced.

I want a long term investment what s the best choice for now?
And thank you for ur help

Buying into a basket of top cryptos that get frequently rebalanced - akin to an index fund - should go a long way over the long-term. There are companies that specialize in this sort of thing (e.g. Triaconta).

P.S. Don't see the above as investment advice. I am just sharing my point of view based on my personal experience in this space. You should consult with a professional to determine what may be best for your individual needs.
554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need an Investment advice on: February 12, 2018, 08:26:36 PM
I have 0.50 ethers and want to invest half in BTA ICO (if that begins) as I am waiting since last year but don't know if they have a plan to launch it. Therefor I don't know if they launch or not or maybe sooner so I don't want to spend those ethers but need your advice regarding where to spend half of other ethers? Please only suggest me some good ICOs just like Maker token for long term (an year)

I don't know what your overall tolerance for risk is, but if you only have a small amount of ETH to buy tokens and are scared of losing it all, then seriously consider to buy into a basket of cryptos (such as CombiCoin managed by Triaconta). If not and you're ready to outright gamble, you want to make sure that you get into the best ICO possible (or a post ico token that is undervalued). This involves a lot of reading and research - and probably the most important part - doing your own due diligence.

P.S. Don't see the above as investment advice. I am just sharing my point of view based on my personal experience in this space. You should consult with a professional to determine what may be best for your individual needs.
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can MyEtherWallet be hacked? on: February 12, 2018, 08:05:18 PM
In addition, remember that your tokens and private keys are not kept on MEW. MEW is just a means to access the Ethereum blockchain easily and securely.
556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can MyEtherWallet be hacked? on: February 12, 2018, 08:03:07 PM
Hi guys!
I’ll tell you what I think.
I'm feeling anxious about MEW security.
If we change some characters of Mew prative key, we will get to anather wallet.
Exampe:
Prative key wallet 1: a1e57f1422ae77c1c51f1626d6cbd6ad376f184976a0e83b430ed7e8c66e998d

Prative key wallet 2: a1e57f1422de77c1c51f1623d6cbd6ad376f184976a0e83b430ed7e8c66e998d

After i change characters on wallet 1 a = d & 6 = 3, i get wallet 2.

Question is, can MEW be hacked easily? This can be dangerous for investors.
And why MyEtherWallet not connect to 2FA? This is a good measure to protect our wallet.
Guys, What do you think about this?

If you're scared, always interact with MEW via the likes of MetaMask or hardware wallets such as Trezor or Ledger.
557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange or Wallet? on: February 12, 2018, 07:54:53 PM
I have a question.

What is better? To keep your coins on some Exchange site or to open wallets for each coin?

I would like to hear some advice.  What are pros & cons of each option?

Thanks

Always store or save your tokens in wallets where you have 100% control over the private keys. Only use exchanges for trading - not saving or storage. The reason being: Exchanges control the private keys and/or access to your tokens when you keep your tokens in their wallets. As proven with Mt. Gox, Cryptsy and the likes, it is best not to fully trust them.

In addition, hardware wallets such as Trezor and Ledger - bought from official sellers - go a long way when it comes to full ownership, convenience and security. Such wallets also make it easy to store multiple tokens in multiple wallets in a secure and convenient manner.
558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you ❤️ crypto??? on: February 12, 2018, 07:10:49 PM
I love it, because it is an opportunity to support the "...Crypto Revolution – a non-violent revolution that is enabling peer-to-peer trustless (bankless) transactions within peer-to-peer economies driven by decentralized blockchains. A revolution that aims to free people from the shackles of centralized banking and corrupt governments – the primary enablers of wars, pain, poverty and chaos."
559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which crypto exchange do you find the most trustworthy and why? on: February 12, 2018, 06:46:58 PM
Considering how many times a scandal is anchored to an exchange, what criteria do you look at to figure out where best to play the market?

Would make this a poll but I feel like the answers would be too unique and individual.

Thanks in advance to everyone who takes the time to reply.

For most part, I trust all of them equally: Long enough to get my trades done and my tokens off their exchanges.
560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell all alts for Bitcoin while it's down? on: February 09, 2018, 02:37:29 PM
I know everything is down right now.. especially Bitcoin.. Should we sell our alts for Btc and rebuy when it rises again or is it much for muchness?

You want to buy red and sell green. In this instance, I would just HODL. That being said, it is always good to have a diversified portfolio. In other words, only sell if you feel a strong need to rebalance your portfolio - regardless of where the market is.
