541  Economy / Speculation / Re: Halving, who's closest with actual Nrs TAKE A CHANCE on the LIST !!! on: March 31, 2020, 09:23:58 PM
During the 2018 Q4 price prediction game, I was closer to ~$250 from the predicted price and this time I hope I would be losing the game by a difference of ~$200-$250 if the price does stay stable for a day!  Roll Eyes We have been seeing roller-coaster rides for quite some time from February and if things favor on my side tomorrow we would be having a dump of $200. But either way, I am happy that I have predicted the price somehow accurately twice in a row and I do believe there would be a steep surge in prices in Q2 with halving event coming up in the month of May.

For the past halving events we never had a surge in prices and the belief of mine has somehow proven to be correct. The March 31 - night trading would have an answer for these speculations which have been put forth by me!  Shocked
542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can crypto gambling be provably fair to regulators? on: March 31, 2020, 09:06:18 PM
Casinos which are primarily based on accepting cryptos doesn't rely on the regulation and so does the users using them up. But rather the reputation of the site are considered to an extent. Some of them do have open source code which does prove that the casino is running a provably fair site and they aren't scamming the players.

If the outcome of a particular bet is to be known to the gambler or verifying of such an instance by running up a script, it would violate the gambler user agreement with the casino and vice versa. I rely on the trustworthy casinos like FJ, Cryptogames, Freebitco for my rolls and the probability of themselves scamming is of utmost null.

Regarding the black hole discussion, I created a topic last year and were discussing about the possibilities and speculation of surviving when one falls inside a black hole. Either way, the interstellar theories were just being thought up as movies but practically speaking we would be torn up into pieces even before we reach the Event Horizon part. But Cooper somehow managed to survive the fall and came up with the time travel shit.  Grin Grin

Kindly have a glance at this topic where even theymos has expressed his views : Interstellar and their theories of Black Hole

So what exactly happens when you fall inside a black hole and how they are projected to a person watching you millions of miles away from the Event Horizon? This is probably the place where it does seem to look like a time travel instinct, where the observer would see your body still being present in a pause mode nearby the Event Horizon but practically speaking you would have been observed inside and would have been dead few minutes/hour before.

So, when you are nearby the Event Horizon the physics which has been taught to you in your high school would seem foolish to you and your time would be faster than the observer time and a lot more. If you survive this 0-gravity free fall and manage to reach the singularity by jumping into a super massive black hole, then would you be able to discover new laws which will be completely against that of Einstein!

Also, do you believe the rumors that NASA is hiding the proofs of Aliens already visited to Earth?
Not sure about the alien speculation theories nor I do follow about them more seriously. But I am a believer of Alien Life in a far off galaxy which is millions of light years away from us.

please any suggestions are welcome.
Once you are done with Mastering Bitcoin, I would suggest you to read Programming Bitcoin by Jimmy Song which would be a perfect way to completely understand bitcoin from a raw codebase level.

In these adverse conditions of disaster spreading at a rapid rate, I hope the €10 you are providing through a game would be of some help to whoever wins it. Let the force be with everyone of us and try to save the world from the rising pandemic.

My prediction is that President Trump would be uttering the word ventilator(s) for 11 times.

Thank You jeremypwr and Bitcasino for the fun game.  Smiley

Ooops, I didn't see that someone else already picked 3.  If it's allowed I'll change it to 5.
5 is already picked up as well  Sad

I’ll go for five times please jeremypwr.
545  Other / Meta / Re: Policy on reporting spammy threats. on: March 30, 2020, 07:17:48 PM
I would be reporting to trash the whole topic at times, when it has been discussed too much in the general boards or when there is absolutely zero meaning portrayed by the following posts which is neither useful for building up the OP nor does provide any insight to the reader or when the whole topic has been deviated too much from the OP. In the latter cases, it would be quite difficult for both the reporter and the moderator to report and trash various posts (>20) and at such times it would be good to sweep the whole topic along with the various replies which has been posted below.

On rare circumstances, whenever I report a legit thread stating them to be moved to particular boards the whole lot gets trashed all of a sudden. Hence this should have been a decision coming from the moderator's end who has handled my report and they must have felt the topic isn't necessary for the forum as a whole. But, the topic served it's purpose and was indeed good to be present in other board but were trashed removing all the replies along with the topic.

Let us consider the same scenario from the perspective of a local board which doesn't have a moderator, here there are various topics which were created years back and are still being bumped by newbie accounts with low value pointless referral spams. This has been a practice for over 2+ year and with over 500 replies it is literally difficult to trash particular posts. Hence in this scenario we have no other go other than trashing the whole thread instead of particular spam posts which has exceeded more than 300 in numbers.
546  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: JAXX liberty on iphone question on: March 30, 2020, 03:49:09 PM
Not the 12 words, that i know. What i mean the encrypted wallet data in json format which is possinle to export.

Im interest to know where that file/data is stored.

I have never used jaxx wallet in iphone but AFAIK the wallet data isn't stored in the icloud backup. Since jaxx wallets allows user to have complete control over the keys, storing on a cloud backup server might expose the keys at some point of time. Hence the backup file (not completely sure) would be stored in a encrypted format in the form of .plist file which is quite useless and they would be available in the com.kryptokit.kryptokit app domain folder. I have heard people trying to break the .plist file using a sqlite but didn't come up with favorable outputs.

So, you should write the 12 words in a piece of paper as instructed by OmegaStarScream and store them in a secure place. If you tend to lose this backup phrase, I am very much sure you will have a very bad nightmare of losing all your funds stored in the wallet. Hence, there is only way of having a backup of your funds and i.e through writing up the 12 word phrase.

For reference from Jaxx Reddit mod :

Quote from: jaxx_andrei
Hi there, sorry to hear about your issue. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to restore your full wallet files via the iCloud backup because they don't get backed up there.

It's really good and refreshing to see users like you popping up now after the removal of ban. A major share of Indians among this forum in general were concentrated only on trading shitcoins, promoting scams through signatures, spreading hatred and bullying other forum members with nonsense shitposts, spamming to the hell to receive tokens in return and ofcourse scamming others to receive free bitcoin. This was one among the reasons we had a little bad reputation over the global boards and I would say this happens even when others come over the same situation. Well, these people have left the forum as a whole with only a little(not sure) roaming around here and there.

Try to be active like this for the upcoming years and I am sure you will be one among the promising posters in global boards. We are a vast country, we have the necessary knowledge to challenge the first world countries but the problem is that we aren't utilizing it to an extent and even if we are coming up with innovative thoughts our politicians are crushing us. Read as much as you can about crypto, read the stickies and if you are in need of any help either technically or related to forum reach out to us here by creating a topic in main Indian board and we would be helping you out. Once you spend a decent time in this forum, you would fall for this (as majority of us currently) and start contributing.

That's interesting. I used to learn about space and universe too in my childhood. I always believe it's an infyverse (meaning there are infinite number of universes)we live in. And yes I believe that Alien life exists.
NASA always say that an asteroid is gonna pass by Earth and it may destroy human life on Earth if hits us but the asteroid never hits us (except for the age of Dinosaurs)
Time is relatively moving slowly in a planet like Earth. That is one thing which is so sure to talk about and yes I do believe in multiverse concepts and we are only among a small fraction of life among the complexity of universes. There should be some form of life which is lightyears far away from us and I believe we don't have sufficient instruments to search for it. Do you believe in wormhole concepts? Otherwise blackhole is a perfect place in space where time is never a dimension and if we could survive the great fall we could indeed experience time travel. I am currently reading a theory on 5-dimension black hole existence which could challenge the 'Theory of Relativity'.
548  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I put money in my bitcoin wallet? on: March 25, 2020, 07:09:12 PM
If you are living in India you will need to download the app called Zebpay where you can buy bitcoins.
After the banking ban of 2018, Zebpay moved on its headquarters to Singapore and completely closed down its INR trading pairs. Thereafter, Zebpay was functioning more or less like a crypto wallet for months and later on created their crypto to crypto trading exchange. Recently after the removal of banking ban by the Supreme Court, Zebpay has announced that they would be relaunching their services in India with INR deposits and withdrawals. Apart from that, there are far better exchanges like WazirX which has joined hands with Binance for the announcement of its IEO and integrating of INR in Binance. After the removal of ban, unocoin (one of the popular Indian exchanges) has started accepting INR deposits and withdrawals.

For quite some time I have been sticking onto lbc trades which seems to be promising for me to an extent. I would trade with people quite often and practicing P2P trades are faster while we are in need of btc. So, if we are in a need to buy btc in India we could opt for WazirX, Unocoin, CoinDCX and LBC. I have created a topic which lists most of the exchanges where we can buy bitcoins through INR : Bitcoin Resources - Consolidate List (India Specific)
549  Local / Off-Topic (India) / Re: Utilizing Work from Home! on: March 24, 2020, 07:06:23 PM
A much needed topic which will bring in good discussions at the current situation we are experiencing. With the recent announcement of nationwide 21 day lockdown I hope there is much time to increase our knowledge at this stage. People who aren't doing the WFH activities can update their technical knowledge in various field like science, computer, space instead of wasting their precious time by just watching movies or TV Series.

I do work from home and most probably the travelling time is being saved to quite an extent due to this lockdown. I mostly work in USA and Canadian timings and this is one among the reason why I am much more active in forum at the time when India sleeps. Keeping things aside, I thought about some kind of fun activity which can help us in knowing more about ourselves. So let's have this topic as the 21 day lockdown activity topic and at the same time try to do something useful to the community. I do have few interesting ideas like

1. Each day let all of us post in this topic about the things which we have learnt something new that day, what is the current status of the virus in India (did it reduce or increase), did we do anything different from the normal on the particular day?

2. Apart from crypto, we could learn something new as well like right from my childhood I have been totally into gaining knowledge about space and publishing some journal papers about the same. Even now, I do this as a hobby and try to learn as much as I can about the outer universes. Similarly each one of us would be having a thirst of knowledge in a field which we are currently not into and let all of us learn about those through our posts.

3. Have a fun filled knowledge game which would bring out the best of our Indian forum users? I am not really sure how can this be put into practice but let us try to be innovative to have a connect among us.

With that being said, what are your thoughts on the same? Need opinions from everyone who are reading this post please? If anyone is interested let us start the same by tomorrow.  Cool
550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Things you shouldn't do when gambling at casino this time... on: March 23, 2020, 08:07:28 PM

Indeed true. But at times, they can be considered as an addictive disease which would further increase the interest among the gamblers to play more with their money. There are certain strategies which could be followed upon to win certain games, but some which are truly based on the luck will help you out even after losing several times. Some games are completely based on the luck but still if you are willing to lose or take the risk during the panic conditions they will end up in a negative way.

Rather the gambler should take a break from his gambling activities and should return back and use his strategies which they have learnt during the losses and should reimplement them in games which demand strategies to win. Responsibility is a factor which is striked off from a gambler's point of view. Many gamblers never have a thought of minimizing their losses and mostly never stand socially responsible as like. The only way to stop an addictive gambler is for him to completely lose all his earnings.
551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Multi-chain cryptocurrencies for greater censorship-resistance on: March 23, 2020, 06:47:38 PM
Most of its code is simply copy and paste from another cryptocurrency, without true innovation or development at all.
Pretty much this. The 2017-2018 cryptocurrency concept was more or less like a get rich quick scheme such that if a non-developer just copy pastes the code of bitcoin with very little changes like the total supply and the block emission rate it would soar up in price when they reach the trading market. Sadly, the developers run away with the ICO money leaving the coin behind. When the investors tend to do a little research, they start to dump the coin. This was how the ICO coins came to an end at the end of 2018. Later on people started researching about the team before they simply threw their money inside the rabbit hole. Either way, there was a very late response for these scams which were taking place all over the 2 years and all was the result of people losing their hard earned money.

This was the primary reason for the shift of people towards coins which are practically usable in real world like Monero and Ethereum. I am still not sure how many more years these altcoins (except few promising one) will survive before almost everything is being replaced by bitcoin. On the other hand, satoshi has previously spoke about merged mining concept in one of his earlier post. Though through the merged mining concept, the altcoin can just be joining hands with the major network but when the miner tends to solve both the network coins, the one with lower difficulty gets solved first leaving the major network behind. These would all be linked to one single merkle tree.

There was a discussion between theymos and nanotube in the creation of such a coin which might be using a merged mining concept but not sure if they came out successfully. But later at one point of time, namecoin came into existence based on the discussion between satoshi and other devs. I am not sure, if the announcement was from a alt account of theymos, nanotube but they came with a imaginary name of Vincent Durham Check this out yourself.

I think it would be possible for BitDNS to be a completely separate network and separate block chain, yet share CPU power with Bitcoin.  The only overlap is to make it so miners can search for proof-of-work for both networks simultaneously.

The networks wouldn't need any coordination.  Miners would subscribe to both networks in parallel.  They would scan SHA such that if they get a hit, they potentially solve both at once.  A solution may be for just one of the networks if one network has a lower difficulty.

I think an external miner could call getwork on both programs and combine the work.  Maybe call Bitcoin, get work from it, hand it to BitDNS getwork to combine into a combined work.

Instead of fragmentation, networks share and augment each other's total CPU power.  This would solve the problem that if there are multiple networks, they are a danger to each other if the available CPU power gangs up on one.  Instead, all networks in the world would share combined CPU power, increasing the total strength.  It would make it easier for small networks to get started by tapping into a ready base of miners.

Probably I should restart reading more history threads.  Roll Eyes
552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Corona virus (COVID19) Effect in Cryptocurrency Gambling on: March 23, 2020, 05:59:13 PM
but now the condition of coins in the exchange has begun to improve indeed sport gambling still cannot be fully used but with other gambling games we all can still get a lot of profit, at least these gamblers still leave a little balance to do gambling so that they still have the opportunity to make money even though the condition is not good.
There has been varying pump and dump trades not just in the crypto space but on the whole global  markets. Recently we have seen a huge decline in AUD/USD markets and CAD/USD markets as well. Not just these, but many of the traditional fiat has fallen against USD. Similarly stocks sees record lows this week and all these panic situations has been linked to the worsening of the current COVID 19 situation in USA and all over the world. I don't see an end for this until people stop roaming all over the country. Many of the gamblers have moved on to care for their own selves and we are currently experiencing this forum as a ghostly town at times.

If some of the investors are safe out there and they have ample money to invest in these hard situations there are higher chances they might be having good returns in the upcoming days. If the gamblers tend to play the game and win, they should probably leave with those money and stay safer at this condition. Again, if you are safer this is the perfect time to buy the dips and have good returns.
553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stack sats / HODL philosophy (noob question) on: March 23, 2020, 02:50:13 PM
Right at the beginning of knowing about bitcoin, a little over 2 years back I was keen on trading alts and increasing my bitcoin holdings. A known guy invested too much in alts (0.4 BTC) during the bull run and has lost almost 10x during the 2018 dump. At the current trading prices, his total holdings is worth just over 0.04 BTC. Right after this incident, I totally moved away from trading pump and dump alts and have been accumulating only bitcoin and popular alts as much as I can.

During the 2018 December dump, I invested some amount in Bitcoin and have kept aside those for relatively long term in my cold storage. Later on, just bought some little amounts during the dips and even now trade them with Ethereum, Monero and some popular alts. I have traded and cashed out the little amounts and all I risk now are the profits which were received from trading in various top 10 alts. The remaining btc of mine are held as physical crypto collectibles as if at one point of time bitcoin dumps strongly,  my collectibles would help me in accumulating even more bitcoins.  Smiley I would never touch the cold storage even how low the bitcoin goes or how higher the bitcoin goes over time. Rather I accumulate some top alts along with my beautiful collectibles.

Another question- When people preach HODL philosophy (obviously I know it means hold) is this the same "stack sats and chill"... or are the HODL'ers just those that invested big at some point in the past and are long-term holding a single position?
I was quite late to investing in bitcoin but I have ventured into most of the popular fields of bitcoin investment like HODLING a significant btc for longer term, trading alts and stacking some percentage of alts, investing in physical crypto collectibles and so on.

We have a winner for third raffle/lottery.

Taking no 9

Block #622600 : https://www.blockchain.com/btc/block/0000000000000000000f30acccc53ecb33486ad3d11eb821a13915bd60a71039

last character is 9

Congrats Rohan Kotkar. Will PM DarkStar_ for the payment.

Hope there isn't any change in your bitcoin address. Thanks to everyone for participating in the March lottery. A little heads up : As of now, ragavancoin, sureshnsnet, iram3130, Rohan Kotkar wouldn't be able to participate in April lottery/raffle as they have won previous month raffles.

See you all again in April raffle.
555  Local / India / Re: [GREAT INDIAN LOTTERY] #3 - Pick a lucky number to win 0.001 bitcoin on: March 22, 2020, 06:53:42 PM
And that was way really fast while comparing it to the last month raffle. With major cities under lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to a larger extent, I hope this raffle/lottery would have a special place in this year. Hope there isn't anymore bad threats coming to our planet this year (ah, calm down the asteroid 1998 OR2 is having a safe flyby through our earth and there wouldn't any destruction caused by the asteroid this year). An interesting fact is that when it has a flyby through the Earth at April 2079, it would be 6 times closer than what we are experiencing now.

Let us roll with Block #622600 and decide the winner. Good Luck to everyone who have participated.
556  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Physical Token - does it have a place to be? on: March 20, 2020, 08:28:18 PM
... but what would it take for it to become medium of exchange or commodity!?
For anything to be considered as an medium of exchange or commodity, the intermediate good (in this case casascius) should be accepted both by the sender and receiver for transfer of funds. This isn't really possible with casascius considering the higher prices of bitcoin but the idea behind creation of cheaper satori coins were these. Satoris can be used to pay for items in shops located in Japan. But sadly, they winded up the business and due to the rarity these coins ended up being collectibles.

Maybe the physical coins can be made simple to make (one particular standard - many different companies could do that), where in its initial state it is just an "empty" coin with no value on it.
After that, the next step is to create the label (imagine impossible to duplicate label) on it and link this label to particular Blockchain record (electronic token) that has certain value
This idea was tried and tested numerous number of times. This were the basis of creation of many self loaded blank coins. Generation of one's own hologram has been considered as a safer practice in physical bitcoin industry and they are being followed for quite a long time. But how exactly will you link the hologram without printing of private keys and loading them with bitcoins?

I don't see anything new being posted here as a proposal or am I missing something  Huh

Who ever gets the coin can verify the value at the same Blockchain Vending Machine or through some sort of Blockchain App.
So if this is being taken into consideration, the receiver of coin should trust a third party similar to the one I stated above and it defeats the real purpose of bitcoin.

Moving this whole topic to Collectibles section could generate much more serious discussions from physical bitcoin collectors.
557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CORONAVIRUS IMPACT ON SPORTS GAMBLING on: March 20, 2020, 07:02:44 PM
This thing is going to get a lot worse if the officials don't take measures. They need to lock the country down immediately.

Nobody should get of their homes unless it is an emergency. It will be a lot worse than what it already is otherwise.
Very true. With the deaths rising up in numbers and touching the peak today (i.e 325 in Spain and 627 in Italy) I believe there would be more panic in upcoming days in the areas which are least affected as well. With the current numbers I believe there would be severe measures undergone to prevent the spreading of virus to higher numbers and to people with lower immune power. I don't think it would be safer to play gambling right at the moment when you are in need of fiat for emergency purposes.

If people tend to play in physical casinos, there are higher chances the virus would spread to other individuals as well and it might cause further distress among everyone.

...snip...

The gamblers would probably move onto roulette, dice, blackjack and similar kind of games. If gamblers tend to continue the same during these adverse conditions, it's quite evident that they are risking their money for fun. Casinos have closed at some of the popular places to prevent public gathering.

559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some casino gambling tips. on: March 20, 2020, 04:21:05 PM
I do not recommend you guys to play casino gambling as of this current situation on which COVID-19 is still spreading around the world, but if the virus passed away you may use this tips if you are going to play in casino gambling.

The primary reason for the dump in the global markets be it precious metals, stock markets and bitcoin is due to the panic situation which is prevailing now due to the COVID-19 virus. Almost majority of the people are cashing out to fiat on the verge to safeguard themselves so that they won't be in a condition to depend on these markets if they are being affected by the virus. I don't think there is much traffic in online and physical casinos to be quite true but there are gamblers who are still gambling to have fun.

Limiting or completely getting out of gambling would be considered as a favorable way at the current worst scenario. At this moment, people do need fiat money and not everyone are willing to risk their money and so does the gamblers. Hence, until the situation of this globe gets back to normal it would be good to save your money for medical expenses or other worst case scenarios.

There are only quite a few countries still operating properly even during the virus outbreak and casinos are one among the places where there could be a public gathering in small numbers. Hence at this period gamblers prefer online casinos rather than physical gathering casinos. Both online and physical gambling do have their own merits and demerits but at this trend it isn't really advisable to play at offline casinos.

Hello, I need some help here , i think the forum made by old html, i don't know why there is no new styles it's blue - white only, lol.
The forum was created by satoshi himself and there was very few minor and important improvements after 2010. This is one of the superior and oldest crypto currency forums still active in the internet. This was the place which saw satoshi and Hal posting, was involved in the famous DPR case, had the reporting of overflow bitcoin incident, Announcement of Ethereum by Vitalik, Announcement of Monero and Litecoin and more importantly the only place on the internet where you can send a private message to Satoshi.  Cool This is probably the reason bitcointalk is always considered far more superior and does look antique while comparing to other so called crypto forums.

Keeping the historic aspects aside, there is a new forum software being developed and tested which might go live at some point of time in future. Forums like cryptotalk wouldn't allow you to gain your knowledge in bitcoin and the technology behind them, so why sticking onto a forum like that which wouldn't allow you to gain the knowledge and talk shit?

For my knowledge in crypto! Don't ask me! Very good
Criticising a forum created by Satoshi based on it's looks does show how supportive and inclined you are towards the yobit forum. Roam around here, hunt down historic topics, learn something and then do a comparison between the yobit forum and bitcointalk!
