They provide decent way to present ideas in easily digested way. But I don't think they will change people who wouldn't be convinced by good arguments...

Some people aren't nice. And even more follow these non-nice people...

And you will die.
544  Other / Meta / Re: Troll directory on: May 10, 2013, 06:25:48 PM
And what do I need to do to get ON this list?  Huh
Troll in such way that upkeeper of list thinks you are a troll?
545  Economy / Economics / Re: Relativity on: May 10, 2013, 04:10:24 PM
And it will be rather hard untill volatility goes down... I think that really is one of the bigger hurdles.
546  Other / Meta / Re: [NOT CONFIRMED] Bitcointalk users info leaked? on: May 10, 2013, 04:06:48 PM
I do get some spam for LTC pool, hasn't noticed much else...
547  Economy / Economics / Re: FED refuses to return back Germany gold after an failed audit on: May 10, 2013, 04:05:27 PM
Does anyone else here read all this and think 'why are we still using gold?'. It seems so primitive and outdated...

What we need is some sort of digital version  Tongue

I wonder same about religions... Must be someway related...

Gold has some value, for some special applications, but other than that...
548  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Terrorism on: May 10, 2013, 04:00:28 PM
So that maybe helps in one area. But what about organizations like Al Qaeda who rely on donors and fund raising as well as all the other types of threats mentioned?

Ask yourself why they are getting the funding. Why do people voluntarily support groups like Al Qaeda and the IRA?

(Hint: One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.)

They are free market organizations providing services that people want? Namely fighting against even bigger terrorist groups, the governments?
549  Other / Politics & Society / Re: To liberals, if everything were paid for would you still demand taxes? on: May 10, 2013, 11:30:11 AM
Do you know what would happen?  Government spending would go through the roof!

The only thing limiting at the moment is that slight guilt when taxes go up too much to be acceptable - the moment that weight is off the bean counters shoulders - they is going to party! Wink

They would tell everyone that the money was going to last for 30 years, but I bet it will all be gone within 5! Smiley

I hope some of them will get idea of nice new roads, high speed intercontinental railways and maybe even crazier junk like launch loops...
550  Other / Politics & Society / Re: To liberals, if everything were paid for would you still demand taxes? on: May 10, 2013, 10:45:21 AM
Not in spesific USA, but in general:
I would be. If same or similar service level was provided.

Though taxes would be back if that fortune wasn't invested... But I'm ok with that too.

Taxes aren't needed if there is some other way for government or community to provide they services.

Still, it would be rather destructive if some cases weren't considered to be outside this like retirement funds. But that really depends on system used in country...
551  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Senate passes internet sales tax bill on: May 09, 2013, 12:22:16 AM
For a country struggling to grow the number of jobs well this is just asinine.

Along with other things, makes you wonder what they're really trying to do..

I mean, before this new tax, if I was in charge and said to my team of *peoplewhoscreweveryoneelseover* "what can we do next to further destroy peoples jobs and small businesses and get people more in debt slavery?"

I'm sure there'd be a few people yelling "TAX THE INTERWEBZ!"

So.. whats next

A couple more nice wars? Get's that military complex really going, maybe to some legistlation in support too.
552  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Senate passes internet sales tax bill on: May 08, 2013, 07:49:49 PM
Federations...

Still, EU also have this in some ways. For certain amount of bussiness to certain country they have to pay VAT...

553  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The War on Health on: May 06, 2013, 04:24:49 PM
Shows pretty much how broken USA's system is. Still I could have done without much of that altmedicine nonsense...
554  Other / Politics & Society / Re: This is the thread where you discuss free market, americans and libertarianism on: May 05, 2013, 01:24:11 PM

Not at all, an open source method and decentralization are clearly superior. But the way An-Cap is envisioned now, I'm afraid will lead to corporate abuse, religious dominance, and force the poor into collectivization or become corporate slaves. Or worse degenerate into a gangland. Anyhow individual freedom is lost. And this is the beauty of open source, one can improve. But this can be done only by abandoning dogma, and truly addressing problems.
So far all political ideologies are extremely buggy (some more than others).

Just as communists were naive that the proletariat will do no wrong (or if they do, their peers will correct them), capitalists seem to believe that in a free market corporations will do no wrong (or if they do they will be corrected by the free market). Things don't work as on paper in real life.

Some what what I think now. I just don't trust in my fellow man at all... And for that reason I prefer to have a state...

So you trust your fellow men when they form a state with a monopoly on violence?

Yes because there is lot more of us...

I try to simplify our side:
Robots good, improved efficiency good.

Mining not solution for capital.
557  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Let the Machines do the Work (The end of Slavery) on: May 04, 2013, 01:10:34 AM
Like a modern Athens.

So who would be our slaves?
558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Island/City and More on: May 04, 2013, 01:10:03 AM
You really need to give up your fixation on geographic separation. It's not possible here on this planet that they've conquered every last square inch of in the first place. But secondly, It would be a more desirable solution by far to wake everyone up and thereby conquer THIS land for anarchy.

The seastead idea was cool for about 20 minutes when I first heard about it - now it seems pretty dumb. There is no getting around the fact that if you want a truly voluntary society - you're gonna have to deal with the GLOBAL network of masonic, psychopathic, statist maniacs that insist on treating us like cattle. Oh yeah, and a lot of the bitcoin 'leaders' some of you want to follow? - they're in the same club!

So here's a REAL strategy:

1. Create an alternate currency (done)

2. Slowly, ANONYMOUSLY, start moving into a specific area, preferably one that is suffering the most from the economic downturn and isn't receiving a lot of federal funds (relatively anyway).

Basically the same as The Free State Project, but in a more remote area.

Actually statist aren't that bad. It's those psycopaths who want everything for themselves... And I mean everything, not just something like socialist... Think about those old good kings and feudal lords... And once they have bigger army, there isn't much going against them...

Or maybe I'm just too pessimist...

So now I'm curious: can empathy be taught, or must someone be equipped with it from day one?  Is it an emotion, or a principle?  Must we choose to be empathetic, or do we not have a choice but to be empathetic/unempathetic?

I think that there is certain minority of people who are evil, then there is large majority who are neutral, don't care or are easily led. And then we have small small minority who are truly  good.

And usually this evil minority gains most power and can use  the majority and as such everyone loses.

I think renouncing state might not be so good idea. Unless you really want to spend rest of you life in one location.

Amount of places you get in without passport is limited, and for western world probably zero. Still, it is interesting question just where they would deport you in such case...
