yes the 220v or 240v will be more efficient..regardless of 50 or 60hz.  Most psu wont care about any of that.

542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New 10 KW Solar Mining Project on: March 10, 2021, 02:15:10 PM
Phase one complete, 10kw of solar panels arrived today.
Now the fun starts, mounting these things...
What's a good low cost DIY ground mount?

https://imgur.com/a/6iyz3N7
You don't have a roof? Solar panels are more effective on the roof top than mount grounds I believe, anyways you can build them yourself with woods and nails, if you aren't that good then hire a qualified person and explain what you plan to do, it's easy when you get a professional by yourside

As long as the panel is not obstructed by anything ground mounting just as effective.  The 20ft difference in height doesnt matter to the panel as long as eithe ris unobstructed.

See large solar farms where all panels are ground mounted.

People in densly populated areas have to roof mount because of the obstruction of the next dwelling.  But here i believe our user has plenty of room.

The problems from roof mounting are additional weight on roof.  Most roofs in the USA are going to be asphalt shingles which means anything mounting to them diminishes the shingles life expectency.  Plus you have to make sure the homes structure can handle the weight and windload.  Ground mounting is much easier if you have the space.  It also makes cleaning and any maintenance much easier and safer...especially if roof pitch is steep and/or two story home.

Now they are not generating much right now in the garage...terrible mounting location op....🤣🤣🤣

The RX580 thing is weird.
Do you have any other rig you can try 2 of the rx580s in?  just to prove if its card or rig related.

i have the exact same mobo and proc and 8gb ram running in a rig.  Its got 8 5700xts and 5 - rx570 in it working fine under mmpos.
I also have 13 nvidia running on same board chip in ethos os.
i dont run hiveOS so cant advise on that.

544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Linzhi.cn.com Review - Trusted Website I received my order. on: March 10, 2021, 01:50:13 PM
Ah look another Scamming Newb.

Linzhi.cn site today shows the web address for sale...no website.

If you bought off the site posted by the new user...enjoy being scammed...because phillpma pointed out it was a scam.  And of course he was correct.

Official site linzhi.io still up and still states no units for sale.

Easiest way would be to buy a Scrypt Asic miner.
546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Motherboard not detecting GPUs on: March 09, 2021, 03:01:46 AM
So you connect one it works.
Connect another one (gpu / riser / cable / edge card) confirm it works by itself.

Then if both work connect those twp sets and boot.
Make sure you have all the molex plugged into motherboard. 2 of them.
Make sure the first gpu is in the long slpt (hard to tell from the riser pic but believe you have one there).

Youve probably done all this, but figured id ask.

What cpu are you running in the board?
547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Phoenix miner is compromised on: March 08, 2021, 09:08:39 PM
use quickminer instead, it don't rely in 3d party software, but i don't know how to enable the pill with it

Why use software that is slower.  Remember it was NH that was distributing the malware...not PM.  They are blaming PM for thier incompetence.  The mining OS use PM and had no issue with malware...this is all on NH.

if you can enable the largement pill with it it's not slower

Ill note you have no rebuttal to the fact that NH was founded and run by criminals.....here are the news articles of some of the arrests and illegal dealings.

https://www.coindesk.com/former-nicehash-cto-arrested-in-germany-over-us-hacking-charges

https://www.infosecurity-magazine.com/news/nicehash-cofounder-arrested-in/

From wikipedia article on NH....

NiceHash's founder Matjaž Škorjanc is a creator of malware Mariposa botnet, which infected over 1 million computers with Butterfly (mariposa in Spanish) Bot. The goal of Butterfly Bot was to install itself on an uninfected PC, monitoring activity for passwords, bank credentials and credit cards. Slovenian police arrested Matjaž on charges of distributing the malware in 2010. Matjaž was found guilty and had served four years and ten months in a Slovenian prison. On June 5, 2019, US law enforcement opened a case in the operations of the Mariposa (Butterfly Bot, BFBOT) malware gang.[13] FBI has moved forward with new charges and arrest warrants against four suspects including Matjaž Škorjanc.[14]

Can post more...because its a fact the people behind NH are convicted criminals.

Just to be clear this is the co-founder of Nice Hash....

https://www.infosecurity-magazine.com/news/nicehash-cofounder-arrested-in/

More on this human trash:

Why anyone would do business with these criminals.
Why anyone would believe anything Nice Hash has to say.

That is who nice hash is...that is the official legal record...started and run by criminals.

PM has responded in the PM thread for miner.

I never pulled mine as i know the source...and 5.4c and 5.5c have been running for long times for me with no issue.  Plus the most a hacker could do to a rig was redirect it to his wallet....and that would trip all my monitoring.  Since i only have a thumbdrive and only mining on each rig...there is no system that cant be quickly replaced.  But im careful where i get my mining software and only from the devs official site.

It appears NH is the blame here...distributing malware.

551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How are 4gb cards still able to pull 24-27mhs from mining ETH today? on: March 08, 2021, 05:26:02 PM
Yes give it a few minutes and watch the screen will do a base line tune 4 parts then tune each gpu then fine tune.  Hash will go up and down and when it complete tuning to will pick the most efficient.

Make sure card is in the slot (not on riser) for max effect.  Should end up 25+mhs.

Thanks for all the help.
I’ve got 25+ on h110 and 22+ on socket 775

What a cheap good cheap mobo that you suggest?

Did you test rx560 too? Are they worth it?

Ps: I love mmpos so far, it’s very light and good os. I’m running it live from usb without any problems. I’ll soon switch to it

Ive tested using RX560 4gb = 13.60mhs  (corrected as it finished tuning)
Ive tested using RX550 4gb = 11.21mhs

Thats the smallest/olderst RX cards i still have.

552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Phoenix miner is compromised on: March 07, 2021, 09:01:21 PM
or perhaps nh grabbed one of the many malicous links supplied at 5.5d.

or perhaps the mega site PM uses had credentials compromised.

Either way seems like nh has been sending compromised miners to users.

I have zero issues with PM but then again i dont keep wallets on rigs either...

I will say PM has been under malware attack for a long time here.

Hello!

Please help me out.
I have been using PhoenixMiner 5.5C for a while on my personal computer.
I downloaded the miner from:
https://phoenixminer.org/  <- is this safe?

When i ran certutil this is what i got back:
11428c3bdf728860fd057c411a95b14e13f05dbc

Am i fucked guys?

Thanks,

 No that is not phoenixminer.

Says so at the bottom of the webpage:

Note, when downloading the PhoenixMiner, Windows may issue a warning, but if you used PhoenixMiner download link you can ignore this. Disclaimer: This isn't an official PhoenixMiners site. No binary files were affected. All rights belong to their respective owners.

555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: xmrigs pointed to Monero gui wallet for past week finally get all synced 0.00xmr on: March 07, 2021, 01:33:45 PM
You want a better advice? Stop using pools with high payout, find small XMR pool with low payout like minexmr pool or add better CPU to start mining XMR, the higher the hashrate the faster your payout will be

But even if payout is 0.01xmr ($2.07) it will take almost 2 months to get a payout.  The only reasonable answer is more hash or a less difficult co8n to mine.  Because right bow hes looking at $12-15 a year in XMR.

556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New RTX 3060 Work Around? on: March 06, 2021, 07:37:23 PM
But they win as long as demand and prices stay sky high....
557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: xmrigs pointed to Monero gui wallet for past week finally get all synced 0.00xmr on: March 06, 2021, 07:33:19 PM
So at 525 hash to reach payout of 0.1 XMR will take over 500 days.  per day is 0.000187 approximately.  so 0.1 / 0.000187 ~ 534

You may find it better to find a less popular/younger coin and mine and hold it.  As it is going to take a long time at your hash to get a payout.

Anyone know why Phoenixminer lowers the core clockrate on some GPUs (and not others of the same model on the same rig) after they start up and successfully hash at ~50 MH/s for a few minutes? I am starting all my RX 5700s at 1300/900 (core/memory) and they all start out at ~50 then for some reason PM lowers the clock rates on some which end up hashing at around 40 MH/s or less. I am setting GT value at startup so it's not auto-tuning. Any thoughts?

Huh

Have you tried letting it autotune?  ive noticed that sometimes the hardsetting of GT values results in lower hash on subsequent boots.  Since most of my rigs are stable i dont bother setting and get consistently high hashes.  53-54mhs without bios mod on 1350/920/775.  With bios mod about 56.7mhs per 5700xt...but i need to spend some time tuning them...57-60 should be achievable.
560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How are 4gb cards still able to pull 24-27mhs from mining ETH today? on: March 06, 2021, 12:33:28 AM
Actually Even mining boards with a single long slot work fine.  i have done this on H81 and even TB85.  1 4gb in gpu 0 slot mining eth.  The other gpus on another coin on risers.  Running the one card on eth pays more than running it on any other coin currently.  The other slower cards are better on other coins than the reduced speed due to dag on eth.

what linux os did you used? Did you be able to run eth + rvn on same machine? could you pelase explain more?

Yes eth for the 4gb cards direct in board (1 or 2) then the ones on risers go on rvn or whatever else is best.
For dual mining or triple mining or even quad mining i run mmpos (mmpos.eu)
For some dual mining i run ethos (which is very old but still works well on older cards
For two rigs they are just ubuntu current version.  Dual mining is as easy as using the screen command to have several screen to run from.  Google screen command in linux for syntax and usage.

I use the -devices= option in lolminer and teamredminer to select the cards for each miner regardless of linux version used.

Using the ctrl-a+d keystrokes you can switch back to main screen and the sub screen keeps running.  Use screen -list to see all sub screens...and screen -r miner0 or screen -r miner1 to go from main screen to miner0 or miner1....where miner0 = the screen - list # or name.
