621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: A stubborn RX580 on: February 14, 2021, 01:20:25 PM
I'm getting 28mh on a stubborn OCed RX580 with Micron memory inside, is there anyway around this without bios modding? Or what is the best active AMD miner out there can that boost my hashrate a bit more? 30mh is more than enough, I have 6 of these card and only once is not doing so well, it's MSI RX580 8gb micron memory, any help will be appreciated

Does it have a bios switch on it?  If it does shut down and switch it.  See if any better...if not save bios and mod it.

OK I guys I make it work OMG !
hahaha so what I did?

I dont know know but frenkly reseting CMS helped I think Smiley

I've had a 2 of my H110 BTC+ Motherboards show up without the default option being set to use the onboard graphics.

This required you to install a video card in the full PCI slot to even see the bios posting.

Why not just blank the cmos with the jumper pin...its in the manual...will set it back to onboard.

You can do that too however I like a challenge!  Tongue

🤣🤣🤣

Sometimes the biggest obstacle is me...not the problem....DOH!

I know the feeling.

623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Whats the best coin to mine GPU other than Eth on: February 13, 2021, 04:56:54 PM
so whats best and more proffitable altcoin to mine GPU other than eth in your opinion??

Depends on your hardware...see above.....what is best for my mix of gpus will not be whats best for you.  I tend to do a rig at a time because again what i have in one rig is not duplicated in the next...i built my farm over the last 5 years so lots of mixed gear.
624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Whats the best coin to mine GPU other than Eth on: February 13, 2021, 04:55:52 PM
The answer is still ETH, why would anyone want to mine other altcoins presently when ETH is the most profitable on every single GPUs out there? Doesn't make any sense to me, we mine coins to get our ROI back faster and it's a good time I believe

This is not actually true.  It may be for your hardware but. i have moved some of my gear to other more profitable coins.

For most cases ETH is the answer,  but not all.  Ive got several rigs earning 25% more then they would on eth.

Do what is best for you and your gear.
If you don't mind me asking what is the name of these altcoins you talking about? I'm guessing the altcoins are becoming more profitable because of present bullrun season, something like this happened in 2017 as well, I would like to maximize my daily mining profits if I can, please kindly reply

Whattomine.com and select the gpus you have and quantity...let it show all algos and click calculate.  The list is ordered by revenue or profit depending on how you set it...but will make it easy to see...realize this list will change often and depends on your hardware.
625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: how many GPUs will this board support for mining ? on: February 13, 2021, 04:53:18 PM
You can also try 1-4 plex adapter that goes in a slot and provides connection to 4 risers.  Again limited by chipset and pcie lanes but they work i have several different models in use..Cheapest easiet to try

https://www.amazon.com/YIYIYI-Expansion-Converter-Adatper-Bitcoin/dp/B08TWBDNPP/ref=sr_1_2?crid=QKC3S6X4DAOH&dchild=1&keywords=1+to+4+pcie+riser&qid=1613223604&sprefix=1-4+pcie%2Caps%2C191&sr=8-2
I don't know how they build this thing but are you sure using it in one PCIe slot won't do any damage? Drawing watts across over two GPUs in a single pcie slot don't sound safe to me

This uses riser....risers do not pass power through the usb cable...thats why risers are so good for mining...they remove the power strain through the bus (slots).

628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help needed to speed things up on: February 13, 2021, 01:38:00 PM
Can you explain why interent connection would care about windows or linux?

Im intrigued why you think that matters.

As for speed no idea what update would slow you down...but then again i wouldnt pick windows for a critical job like mining.

For 1660 super what are your oc settings?

how many cards? Try give 50-60gb

6 gpu in each rig.

how to increase?
 i have 16000 to 32000

i must type it in advanced settings?

1gb = 1024Mb
8Gb per card = 8192Mb vm space needed
8192Mb * 6 cards = 49125Mb vm space needed for the rig

Yes you need to enter it in the advanced settings

Man windows is quite resource demanding.

4gb ram / 16gb memstick / 13 gpus / linux.....

whats current hashrate for rx470 4G in epoch 394? on windows + linux

On linux im getting 28mhs... on 570-4gb in slot 0....using lolminers 1.22
13-14 on the rest in the rig.

I'm using Windows on 3 different gaming PCs with a 3070 (PM 5.5c), 5700XT (lolminer) and 1660Super (PM 5.5c).  No issues with stability, shares...nothing.  I'd post an image of my pool results, but I'm not sure how on this site:

633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best option? 2 little psu or one big on: February 12, 2021, 02:02:32 PM
Chart of cable connections and maximum wattages for connectors and chains off psu:

https://www.gpuminingresources.com/p/psu-cables.html

Stay within the wattage limits and no issue.

6 pin can supply 216w.   So if power draw on the connection is 216w or less then you can use 6 to 6+2pin adapter safely.

was running at 18.3MH/s on 1.22 but 1.23 only gave me 8.5mh/s. Auto settings doesn't work for this card. I had to add --4g-alloc-size 4078 parameter to get it back to 18+MH/s

Where did you see 1.23, I only see 1.22 here and on github page

goto the github
Click releaes and see there is 1.23 and 1.24 for linux only.
They are on official github and fix some specific issues with older cards.

Says 1.25 will be out in a little bit and big things coming.

1.24 qas released 3 hrs ago.  Evidently lol is spending the time writing code and nhasnt yet updated from pages.  But if the right site and dev.  Smiley.
635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: *Help guy's* on: February 12, 2021, 01:52:16 PM
Did you try the card by itself no other gpus in rig.  If it works alone then its not the gpu.
636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Massive difference in results on: February 12, 2021, 12:52:30 AM
Measure accepted shares.  You get paid for accepted shares.
637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: That extra two pin slot on 8pin GPUs on: February 10, 2021, 05:51:44 PM
Probably because output at 6-pin connector is made for 75W, and output at 8-pin conenctor is made for 150W, no matter how
wiring is done

https://www.gpuminingresources.com/p/psu-cables.html

Hmm so pcie 6pin only have a spider sense haha and the 8pin has two spider sense, thanks for sharing this mate very informative, I hope OP learn from this and don't try something stupid that can probably start a fire, let's respect how these things are built to be on safer side

Sir...we respect the laws of thermodynamics in this household!

Really amazing work! Got my 580 4G back to 28 Mhs.

How will this behave over time, how much hashrate is lost with each DAG size increase?

would like to know too.. how long until the dag size increases again until it won't work with 4GB card again?
No one knows. It all depends on Lollie for his/her magic lol.

The 4GB card on Riser is still losing hashrate every dag size increase. Card on x16 is also losing hashrate but I feel like it's doing slower than the one on riser.

Dag 393 = 27mh/s
Dag 400 = 21-22mh/s
Dag 405 = 14mh/s
Dag 415 = 5-6mh/s

I expect that by 405-415 most rigs will be off eth or at least the non long slot cards.  Because regular zombie is already around the 405 dag slowdown...so a little longer...which is still awesome...but SOON.
639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: egpu for mining on: February 10, 2021, 05:38:33 PM
Not worth buying unless someone sell for you at cheap price, egpu are costly from scratch, even one with a RX580 can be sold for 530$+ where as a discrete RX580 don't cost up to that at all, I can still get a RX580 8gb at 370$

Where are you seeing RX580's 8gb for $370....$529 is lowest i find for a new 580-8......that is in stock and can ship...no point in ones not in stock.

640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: These old cards still useful? on: February 10, 2021, 05:35:09 PM
I have loads of gtx970 and hd7970 here, is there any use for this cards or I should just torse the away ? I try selling but no one is buying, people don't use these cards anymore? I have put the cards on several stores and not even a hi from anyone

You have already answered your own question.
They are e-waste at best.
