Having survived numerous lockdowns and self-isolations over the last couple of years and now not being able to travel or work anymore having shunned the vaccine, I can sympathize with him. If not vaccinated against covid, I would be unable to board my private jet, train or yacht. As much of the "free" world has discovered recently, freedom has a way of routing one out and embracing them wherever they may reside. So glad I live in the free world. Unfortunately, Bitcoin and a Binance card doesn't fix this. I guess I should be thankful that I can still travel to those parts of my country which are accessible by car.
I guess it depends how the lockdowns are worded but typically they apply to commercial/public transportation. If I had a plane at the local airport, there would be nothing preventing me from flying any time. I'd imagine yachts would be similar. International travel would be different but the rich also get special consideration there from what I have heard.

Did that really happen or is CB sick?
It seems to happen frequently and I've commented on it before. It's the data returned by the exchange and that's all I can really say about it. I had an issue with an exchange once where it kept returning the same data for minutes in a row but this does seem to be varying with each data set. Which is to say ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Stand with Ukraine and buy some Bitcoin. (Baby needs a new pair of shoes)

Well, that was short but sweet. My god, even the bitcoin roller coaster guy has become infested with that NFT bullshit.

Bitcoin's too volatile y'all...

Here is a quote by C. S. Lewis Probably the best way to go I guess
"If we are all going to be destroyed by an atomic bomb, let that bomb when it comes find us doing sensible and human things—praying, working, teaching, reading, listening to music, bathing the children, playing tennis, chatting to our friends over a pint and a game of darts—not huddled together like frightened sheep and thinking about bombs. They may break our bodies (a microbe can do that) but they need not dominate our minds."
Ironic that it was something akin to a microbe that cause what he was concerned about. (I know, wrong thread).

What we need is fusion energy, the sooner the better.
I'm still hoping for orbital solar but people keep crying about death rays and such.

Frankly, I'm quite surprised that the EU "POW-ban" was voted against.
It becomes a lot more clear when you just assume that they're all utterly corrupt. Not that I think the petulant teen is right but those politicians know which side their bread is buttered.
|
|

that PoW ban seemed to me to be the same as trying to ban the mining and trading of physical gold because its so energy intensive and (generally) destructive to the environment.
It's probably hard to write such legislation that is internally consistent , doesn't run afoul of limitations on their power or wouldn't set bad precedent/affect stuff they've got their grubby fingers in and want to continue. That's even without those who already have some socked away in case they need to make a quick getaway.

It is kind of funny that it does nothing for more than a year, then boom-bam...late 2014-Oct 2015 was the exact same behavior and even a tighter range. Anybody remember that $225-275 stuff? lol
I remember quite a lot of tinkerbell pictures.

This should get interesting. When I got involved with this crazy train, most people knew a showdown with governments was on the cards eventually.

As long as you use a really strong BIP39 passphrase and keep a backup on the seed GPG encrypted on an archival CD or a couple USB drives or the like... Maybe not the worst ever.
Then encrypt the whole shebang and maybe engage in some steganography because if they find you have Bitcoin, they might come knocking. Though for some of us, that ship has sailed, of course.

It's my opinion that POS for Bitcoin would be an inevitable road to government hegemony and even more murder and violence from the same. No thanks.

Hello guys. I don't know if it has already been mentioned, but I think it's interesting, for people who store paper/hard wallets in bank vaults :
Anyone who thought this was a good idea hasn't been paying attention.

It's entirely possible to change Bitcoin from POW to POS. All you need is a law. The electrons in the algorithms rearrange themselves as soon as the bill is approved or the law is published - depending on the quantum level of electron compliance. The so-called "electron scare" factor. Scared electrons are reliable electrons and all that stuff. Actually, given the level of understanding they are showing, it could be worth a shot to try and explain them that Bitcoin is already proof of stake! Those who stake the most hash power get to pick the transactions in the next block. Right?

It idles a little bit rough when it's cold, not much but enought to annoy me. I'm also just curious to see if I can get better mileage. I will change the plugs first and see if it makes any difference, I will drive at least to fill ups and see what mileage I get, and then I'll change the wires as well and do the same procedure. The plugs should arrive at the end of the month, I might even make a video out of the changing.
There are definitely other things I would check first. Fuel delivery, distributor cap, compression probably the first among them.

(as long as we don't become significantly dumber as a species).
You may want to sit down. I have some disturbing news.
wohaa didn't noticed since when our CB into NFTs? or may be not but that's kinda cute... I'm sure this bored ape never be bore again until he wears this BTC cap Just for reference, ChartBuddy does not endorse nonsense schemes based around mass hysteria.

I kind of get it but I also do not. If you are the survivor of a post-nuclear world, then what are the actual chances you get to meet another survivor? In that kind of world, not even seeds, banknotes or coffee is helpful anymore.
I suggest coffee still is, while admittedly more enjoyable in good company. But whatever, I see your point. Indeed, coffee will be highly valued as it doesn't grow here and supply chains/routes will be devastated.

Good to see you again. Sounds like a trick question. Most of us won't get nuked to death but will rather die slowly after we run out of neighbors to eat, so at that point 1 BTC might well be worth a trillion USD but will buy only one pack of smokes. Also carving blocks on cave walls will be a real bitch.
OK, so, quick question. Let's say in the apocalypse, you have to kill some neighbors but your food situation is still looking good enough that cannibalism is still a strong taboo. Do you go ahead and prepare the meat for future eventualities anyway? Asking for a friend.

I am not sure (need to check, but probably someone here knows already), but I seem to recall that CH4 has a worse greenhouse profile than even CO2?
EDIT Hasty posting. Sorry. @xhomerx10 does indeed know and promptly explained.
So it seems the issue is incomplete combustion which could presumably be solved by appropriate flame technology at the place of combustion. Again, good that the gas is being used for something useful (and it turns the upgrade into a profit item rather than a cost item) but it's not using it for mining that makes any impact on CO2 or so-called "CO2 equivalent" emissions.
