I am using an older release of Electrum (2.7.x) for my cold storage. This one is only used for signing the outgoing transactions.
Knowing updating a system without network connections can be a pain, shall I update this one or not ?

Hello, I am looking for someone to help me to build a better design of my Bitcoin site: Seekoin.com, a Bitcoin and Blockchain search engine. As people said in this topic, the design really sucks so I would like to have something much more professional and attractive. The new design should not prevent my visitors to add SeeKoin to their Internet browser as a new homepage like what is doing right now Google or Bing (unlike now). The work will consist in the following main tasks: - Review the main page
- Review the SERPS page (Enter "bitcoin" or "bitcoin price" for an example of the SERP pages. Don't forget images, PDF and Onion URL)
- Review generic pages (Faucet, FAQ, contact, etc.)
- Adapt Seekoin logo to your design (optional)
Please send me your portfolio or any website pages you already designed: my decision will be based upon what I really like and revelant to a search engine site. Can I suggest about the design?, I am browsing in a large screen and it appears that the content is only half the screen and its aligned left. How about centering it? That is not bad at all.Are you willing to open source the code on github ? It does lack fancy designs and stuff.We can do a lot more than just static searches.Not trying to be next google but it could be one source of all the information regarding bitcoins.
Not yet sure coz I want to preserve the ranking algo for obvious reasons (as mentionned before). Meanwhile I could find an interest to improve the output especially in term of design, caching as well maybe. What is your idea ? |

Damn,I almost forget about this project.A bump after a long time dev.Have you made any significant changes as suggested in the above posts ? This definitely deserves much exposure then it has now.Mind revealing how many users/searches you are getting on daily basis ?
You shouldn't Not so many visitors, I guess because SeeKoin doesn't have much content. By the way, there are some people starting dropping links to the search engine. So, I usually get 20 up to 60 visitors a day. |

Great project dude! Apart from search engine I see a directory of faucets which may be beneficial for many faucet users. Also start having some ad space so that you can get some return for your efforts.
I like the homepage, it's fast and simple. However, the alignment is little wrong but I think with time, it will be corrected. I wish you all the success with this project. Also please let us know how do people submit their crypto related website to your search engine?

Quelques nouvelles de SeeKoin, suite à plusieurs mises à jour importantes:
- Ajout des PDF: le moteur de recherche est maintenant capable d'indexer les fichiers PDF à condition que leur contenu concerne du Bitcoin ou de la Crypto.
- Ajout des URL onion: de temps en temps, Bobo, le crawler de Seekoin tombe sur des pages Onion en provenance de Tor. Le crawler est maintenant capable de les indexer. Mais ne vous attendez pas à en voir beaucoup: ce type d'URL est particulièrement difficile à indexer et en plus, bien souvent les crawlers se font jeter (A savoir pourquoi :-)
- Ajout de SeeKoin Knowledge Graph: affiche plus d'infos sur la crypto que vous recherchez. Ceci est la mise à jour la plus importante que j'ai codée. Vous pouvez désormais afficher les infos temps-réel sur la crypto: prix, volume, difficulté, hash. Toutes ces informations que vous cherchez régulièrement et que vous devez aller trouver sur une multitude de sites, elles sont disponibles d'un seul tenant. Tapez par exemple "bitcoin", "bitcoin price", "ethereum price", "litecoin", etc. Afin de vous faire une idée plus précise.
- Ajout des graphes de prix (Je pense en ajouter encore plus dans le futur). Mais il faut d'abord que je puisse correctement les parser :-)
- Ajout de la crypto-terminologie de sorte que le moteur de recherche devienne une sorte de "Seekeepedia". Tapez par exemple "wallet" "ipo" "dao" "fork", etc.
Bientôt:
- Une nouvelle interface pour remplacer celle codée par le pire designer jamais vu sur cette terre: moi.
- Amélioration des SERP afin qu'elles soient plus pertinentes
- Ajout de nouveaux graphes (volume)
- Plus de crypto-monnaies
- Plus de terminologie (Du boulot ...)
- Un système de cache pour rendre le site encore plus rapide
- Bascule vers du SSL (http S://seekoin.com). Edit: inutile d'essayer pour le moment; cela ne marche pas.
Bien entendu, je suis toujours à l'écoute de vos critiques et commentaires afin de rendre le site toujours plus performant.

Hello, I just completed some upgrades of the search engine based on your comments; allow me to describe them: - Added PDF indexing. SeeKoin can now index them as long as they are crypto/blockchain related. - Added Onion URL: Bitcoin pages are often connected to Tor. So, I choose to index them as well. But don't expect to have lots of them: onion URL are obviously difficult to find and many times not so-friendly with crawlers, dunno why - Added SeeKoin Knowledge Graph: display more details related to the crypto you are looking for. So this was the main upgrade I coded: you can now retrieve many real-time data like rate, volume, difficulty, hashrate, and so on. All that precious information you're looking for, day by day. Type "bitcoin" or "bitcoin price", "ethereum price", to see what I mean. - Added chart prices for the main crypto (plan to add more and more in the future). Let me first parse them. - Added lots of crypto terminology so that SeeKoin will become a sort of SeekeePedia. Check for instance "wallet" "ipo" "dao" "fork", etc. Coming soon: - A new user interface to replace the ugly one coded by the worst designer of the world: myself - Improvement of the SERP to make them more relevant - Add other charts (volume) - More cryptocurrencies - More terminology (A long way ...) - A caching system to speed up the site - Shift the site to SSL Of course, I will always listen to your expectations and comments to make the site better and better. Trading is unpredictable job for sure, but money management is not. Just my 2 cents.
but i think trading is predictable job but only for those people who ave good experience in trading, they know the good and bad time in trading and most of the time they really give a good prediction about bitcoin, which proof as correct. Even very skilled traders won't reach a 70% rate of successful prediction which can heavily damage your capital especially if you don't know when to cut your looses. |

Forex, because of the followings:
- Except Bitcoin, crypto don't have enough liquidity, this means in many cases, you won't be able to trade at your right price.
- Volatily, coz if you can earn 100% in few days, this means you will loose as well. Also remember many altcoins are even not worth penny stocks.

Belle histoire en effet, mais qui relève du comte de fée pur nous autres français.
En effet, en France, voici ce qui se passerait :
- premier problème : rappatrier plus de 700.000 € sur un compte bancaire en €. Vous avez le fisc sur le dos et vous allez réintégrer cet argent à vos revenus de l'année en cours. Taux d'imposition, probablement de l'ordre de 40% (je n'ai pas pris le temps de vérifier)
- deuxième problème : finalement, votre bel appartement dans les beaux quartiers, dès la première année vous allez payer des charges de copropriété, ahurissantes et ensuite vous allez payer taxe foncière et taxe d'habitation. Vous êtes dans un beau quartier, donc dans des taux d'impositions maximums et vous venez de payer un max d'impôt sur le revenu, donc toujours un taux maximal pour tout ce qui est basé sur votre revenu.
Bref, le bel appartement dans le beau quartier, vous n'avez pas les moyens d'en payer les charges et vous le revendez avec pertes etprécipitation... pour vous retrouver dans une banliieue lugubre quand ce n'est pas dangereuse.
Vive la France qui égorge ses citoyens pour le confort de quelques-uns (et n'oubliez pas d'y penser avant de voter pour ceux qui veulent vous faire croire qu'il faut augmenter la T.V.A., la durée de travail et l'âge de départ à la retraite). Les seules choses qui augmentent sont en réalité la précarité, le nombre de chomeurs et le nombre de repas servis aux restos du coeur.
Moi, j'ai vérifié: rapatrier autant d'argent, c'est déclencher à coup sûr Tracfin, avec à la clé un joli contrôle fiscal. Vous savez bien, Monsieur, qu'en ce moment, nous devons tous être mobilisés pour lutter contre le terrorisme. Sinon, le Bitcoin ce sera du BNC et au vue du montant, ce sera "votre activité principale". Donc, vous serez imposé sur la plus-value à hauteur de 54%, sur lesquels il faudra ajouter 12,3% de prélèvements sociaux. Ce qui vous amène à quasiment 70% de prélèvements ! Ce qu'il y a de surprenant, c'est qu'il y a encore des gens qui estiment normal de tels montants qui ne sont plus en rien de la solidarité mais bien du pillage en règle. |
