561  Economy / Speculation / Re: SELL Bitcoin? Massive Resistance Rejected! on: October 18, 2017, 02:40:24 AM
Resistance to overtake 6K looks quite strong for now.
Lets not forget about the incoming hard fork, many believe the recent rise was partly due to the fork, with the belief that it will be a success, together with the possibility to get free coins (Bitcoin Gold).
Things should get clearer in 1 week from now. But I would not get too impatient to get past 6K, price is due to stabilize between 5K and 5k8 for a little while IMO Wink.
All the best.
562  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Bitcoin hard fork create free money? on: October 17, 2017, 04:03:30 PM
I was reading such theories lately, this is equivalent to gambling for me, honestly no idea how the fork is going to affect the price.
I am not sure anyone here can give predictions. I would be glad to hear them anyway  Wink
Or perhaps some people know Bitcoin Gold will be a huge asset in the future?
563  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Altcoin party 2017 has just began! on: October 17, 2017, 03:16:56 PM
Hi, XLM is an alias name for STR. Poloniex calls it STR, Bittrex calls it XLM. They are the same just like BCH and BCC for Bitcoin Cash, and XBT or BTC for Bitcoin.

I just bought STR now. Amazing it went up 5x today. Aside from STR, DGB, XLM , XRP , BTS, SC are also going up. I also spare a good amount of BTC to average down just incase my current position may went down. Up next the secondary coins. May I know your crypto bags?
Hi mate.
STR stands for StarCoin? Whats the saying on STR? People loved to mine the coin back then... All the fancy different reward and tokens. I heard it was a nice idea. Being revived or I got it wrong and you meant Stellar?
Cheers.
Is that XLM, "" ??
I saw it this morning and it was being pumped.
congratulations for those who hold it. need more coins to pump.
Hi bitcub,
Thanks for the clarification.
I am reading plenty of discussions since yesterday about Stellar. Hopefully it is not too late to join the boat, even though I don't like to take too quick discussions.
Will monitor it for sure.

Good luck all. Smiley
564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: WHAT IS THE BEST ICO??? on: October 17, 2017, 02:47:10 PM
Hi alkhie,

Different people different opinions, but a few names you should check include: PlayKey, Centra, HydroMiner.

All the best. Smiley
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: calling kordsa and others on: October 17, 2017, 01:22:25 PM
Hi,
The price has reduced quite a lot since your post. Lost over 50% in a week, but now almost +100% since October 10.
Looks like the trend is rising again, but more opinions would be welcome, as it is very hard to find an entry point on such a volatile coin without valuable info.
Anyone else maybe?

566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: raylblock on: October 17, 2017, 01:07:26 PM
Hi Lucacrebbe,
I do not think "having no fee" is a sufficient condition (at all) for any altcoin to grow.
As ChiNgadOr advised, the best thing to do is to "do your homework", get the more information you can about XRB and decide if it is worth investing or not.
No quick decision makes a good investment (or this is just luck  Tongue).
Wish you the best!
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: are there's any chance for eth to reach 0,14 btc ? on: October 17, 2017, 12:55:00 PM

I think it is possible when the Bitcoin upgrade to 2X is failed.

Indeed, in that case the demand for ETH would be boosted, but I cannot see any legit reason to affirm that the incoming hard fork will be a fail.
Care to explain, perhaps? Smiley
568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: are there's any chance for eth to reach 0,14 btc ? on: October 17, 2017, 12:20:37 PM
Hi wellsontheja,

Before investing, you should get all the information available (especially on this website). I guess you did this already before buying Smiley
About your question, no one can tell for sure, but if you are looking at the long term, I would say there is a strong chance for it to happen. Short term, I have no idea.

What could make ETH very strong in the future (IMO) is if BTC loses step by step his "anonymous" qualities, when more and more regulations are implemented.
In such a scenario, I can perfectly imagine an increasing demand for ETH.

Good luck, whatever happens Smiley
569  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Some Arbitrage Trading Tips Guys on: October 17, 2017, 12:06:02 PM
Hi. you should be able to find some softwares (bots) to send you alerts.
I once tried in the sports betting industry and this is very hard to do. Of course you need to be very quick at placing your trades, and the competition is very fierce. The speed of your internet connection can make the difference.
You should try to get some information on bots that can help you to do arbing, such as Blackbird, Gekko, or Bitcoin dealer.

Please keep us informed about your results Wink
570  Economy / Marketplace / Re: 1 Year in Cryptocurrency still no luck earning bitcoin. Need some real advice. on: October 17, 2017, 11:38:33 AM
Hello iamteody,
there are several ways:
-Mining, but since I know nothing about it, I cannot advice on this
-Gambling: this I cannot recommend, unless you know about sports betting, but it takes experience. Of course avoid casinos at all cost, unless you are a good poker player
-Affiliation: you can subscribe to affiliate programs and earn slowly by advertising via your affiliate URL (it can be any services related to Bitcoin)
-Signature campaigns: you need to be an active member on this forum, and you will be able to apply for signature campaigns. Earning will depend on your rank (Jr Member, Member, Full Member, Sr Member etc).
To be active, you need to post 14 posts in every period of 14 days, and your activity should go like this: 14 - 28 - 42 - 56 - etc.

Monitor this page to apply for signature campaigns > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

Wish you the best.  Wink
571  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could Bitcoin hit 10.000 in 2018? on: October 17, 2017, 11:04:40 AM
Reading charts takes skills and is useless anyway without the corner stones which are big news impacting the price, for the best, or the worst,: (like countries making Bitcoin illegal).
So in short, it would take a big news, like a big country making Bitcoin illegal, to stop its progress.
I am optimistic about Bitcoin and plan to hold for at least 5 more years, but we can't make predictions about the price at the end of 2018.
I will just say that, IMO, if no major country ban Bitcoin, the growth will continue and 10,000 sounds like a realistic target.
572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lumens exploding.... on: October 17, 2017, 10:57:03 AM
The IBM news was obviously a big push for the price to go up quickly. congrats to those who benefited from it.

This is another perfect example to show that reading charts is useless if you can't get the valuable information on time. A good reminder anyway. Smiley
573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Being Manipulated on: October 17, 2017, 10:43:11 AM
I think enterprevic means that the Chinese themselves took profit from this, this has happened millions of times with stocks. Your post will make sense if you know that in the near future China will lift the restriction on ICOs, but in the present situation I am not sure any manipulation occurred to be honest.
574  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Wondering about Taxes and legal stuff in USA on: October 17, 2017, 10:21:28 AM
I do wonder how exactly can they implement taxes, I mean which %? How?

Let's take an example:

1/ I own a bank card issued in a country which is not USA, I used this bank card to buy 1 BTC for the price of $5500
2/ Tomorrow, the price of Bitcoin falls to $3500, I panick and sell my whole BTC
3/ the government has no idea that I lost money, and could imagine that I bought this bitcoin two years ago and made a nice profit
4/ so why should I pay a tax when I lost money? Will the government ask me for a proof of my BTC purchase?
This raises questions. In such as scenario, I can't see how this is different to investing in stocks.
575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long bitcoin will survive ? on: October 17, 2017, 10:09:23 AM
Bitcoin wont die, because it is now conquering the world and many rich people and large company are agreeing and wanted bitcoin, too many investors and too many users. I dont see any reason and fact that bitcoin will die and will disappear, look at the bitcoin value today it is increasing and becoming large even many countries wanted to banned bitcoin, So bitcoin will survive forever.
Agree. As long as investors believe in Bitcoin and invest, Bitcoin has a bright future. And the biggest it gets, the less likely it is to be banned by democratic countries. US, Japan, South Korea are all Bitcoin friendly and that is a good sign for the growth of Bitcoin.

Still, I can't picture the everyday Joe to use it, but many big transactions (to buy house, cars) will be done in Bitcoin in the future. Look for year 2020 IMO to become the peak of Bitcoin when many will feel it is "normal" to hold some Bitcoins.
I wish I bought some back in 2012...  Smiley

577  Economy / Economics / Re: Signaling Growing Bitcoin Acceptance, Colombia Gets Second Cryptocurrency Conf on: October 17, 2017, 05:32:46 AM
That's awesome to hear. Another country embracing Bitcoin, surely not the last Smiley
I read that approximately 200 million south american are expected to join into cryptos activities in the next 10 years!

579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: affected by bitcoin Copy paste viruses on: October 17, 2017, 04:31:37 AM
Thanks for posting.
I hope lots of people read this so that we can all take the necessary caution everytime we make a transaction.
Do you have Kaspersky by any chance? I doubt the virus can get in while you use their secure browsing procedure.

This kind of topic should be pinned IMO.
580  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why so many currencies? on: October 17, 2017, 04:21:05 AM
There must be a thousand cryptos right now. Answer is: because anyone can make one. It also mean loads of them are scams.
If you invest, I recommend to stick to the 50 biggest ones.
