561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk - February 2024 in Saudi Arabia on: November 20, 2023, 04:10:03 AM
Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk fight is finally confirmed for February 17, 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia!
I think this is enough time for both guys to heal and prepare well for this fight.
You can now watch full Press Conference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOxmNEFwK-8

Odds are not bad at all on both fighters now in Sportsbet for early betting:

https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/boxing/international/international-matchups/fury-tyson-v-usyk-oleksandr-6554faff0a6c950001760aff

The odds don't look bad at all. Francis Ngannou seems to have tarnished the image of Tyson Fury quite a bit so the odds have been heavily affected. It is not my place to belittle Tyson Fury, but if Ngannou is knocking him down as a cage fighter and there are rumors that he lost, which in my opinion, I can say that Ngannou won this match or at worst it should have ended in a draw.

This odds is better before Fury fought Francis Ngannou I believe. A 1.53 odds seems quite attractive, considering Fury is still the best in the heavyweight division (IMO), despite Usyk's recent achievements. In my opinion, as long as Fury avoids a knockout, he's likely to win on points. He's taller and skilled at landing effective jabs.

It will be very difficult for Tyson Fury against Oleksandr Usyk because his mobility is not even found in many light heavyweight boxers, he is very fast for his weight and with this speed he can control Tyson Fury.

I guess we'll find out. We have different speculations, but only the outcome will determine who is correct here.
562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 20, 2023, 03:14:51 AM
The big loser is Kawhi in all this. He went to form a superteam in LA because he thought they’d win a lot of regular season games and help him maintain his highest winning percentage of all time legacy. Now that legacy is toast and he’s got to be extremely depressed about it. I think he’ll be asking for a trade soon if they don’t start winning a lot in the regular season.

I don't get it. Why would he join the Clippers after winning with the Raptors? In my opinion, it doesn't make sense. I think the main reason is that he doesn't want to stay in Toronto and prefers being in LA. It's good that PG also signed at that time, so they formed a strong team. Leonard has already proven himself by winning championships with the Spurs and Toronto. I don't think he's just chasing championships; he's choosing to play where he's happy.

I found a lot of "opportunities" here on the forum, and the knowledge I've gained has been a big help in achieving my goal, especially when it comes to investing. Back in the day, making money was too easy, especially with bounties and I know lots of us here have enjoyed that moment in the past. That's one of the many aspect that helped me set aside some savings for investment. Without the knowledge I've picked up here, I wouldn't be able to navigate the opportunities I come across.

So, big thanks to the forum! This is my first time posting a thank you here.
564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 19, 2023, 11:36:42 AM
^^ No, Broner will still have to deal with Howard. His name just pop up because Oscar Dela Hoya mentions AB that he could be the potential next fight for Ryan Garcia. But Garcia has his own fight with a very tough Duarte so we will have to see first that fight and how's Garcia under a new trainer and Broner too, if he can get pass Howard in his fight.

So nothing is concrete here, but as we have said, if Ryan wanted to become a world champion, stop chasing fighters like Duarte or Broner. There are a lot of great 140 lbs right now. If he wants then get some fighters in the top 5, as stepping stone to see if he still has that left hook power at this weight class and maybe talk later about the champion in Regis or Devin Haney.

Broner may not be the ideal match for Ryan Garcia; he's been on the decline, and Garcia needs to face top contenders to boost his ranking. Despite one loss, Garcia's career isn't done; he's likely to come back stronger. A win against Duarte would set him on the right path. The key is to keep challenging top contenders, gradually building his resume until he gets into the championship match up again.

How about Ryan Garcia vs Shakur? I think this is a good fight to watch,  boring vs non, and if Ryan would beat Shakur, he'll become the new champion, or if Shakur does not want to risk his belt, they can have a non title fight, is it possible?
565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Estimate halving time with block time and a calculator on: November 19, 2023, 03:45:26 AM
How does this halving significantly affect the market? Even though I kept track of the halving date, I don't think it's necessary since, based on trends, the bull run usually happens after the halving. So, this halving schedule is just a reminder that we should gradually accumulate Bitcoin to ensure we don't miss out on the bull run.

I just look at this one from Binance

566  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance bitcoin wallet maintenance on: November 19, 2023, 02:46:25 AM
Why is it that if Binance announces maintenance checks and withdrawals will not be allowed for only 30 minutes the fud from social media begins and much of this fud is also being shared in this forum. 30 minutes is clearly not enough to stop a bankrun hehehehe. If this 30 minutes becomes 24 hours then everyone should begin the fud. This is becoming very boring, I reckon. Also, if Binance wanted to stop a bankrun it will freeze all withdrawals in all types of cryptocoins.

Folks are just going overboard. Binance didn't give a timeframe for the maintenance, and maybe that's why people started freaking out. Binance isn't exactly known for frequent maintenance announcements, and with the market already on the upswing, it makes sense why some folks are spreading FUD and others are hitting the panic button.
567  Economy / Economics / Re: Imaginary Future on: November 18, 2023, 03:20:30 PM
Do you ever feel like that being after saving or investing for future you forget to live in the present? You don't buy the things you want to or don't go after experiences you want because you'd rather save/invest for future instead.

I don't make investment and savings my top priorities; they come after meeting my needs and fulfilling my wants. While I don't lead a lavish life, I do indulge in some desires, leaving room to invest and save. In reality, these two aspects (investment and savings) should go hand in hand. You can't effectively invest without first learning the importance of saving.

Life is short, my friend. We shouldn't deny ourselves the things that bring us joy, whether it's experiences, purchases, or enjoying good food. Satisfaction in the present should be a priority before thinking about long-term investments for the future.
568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: November 18, 2023, 01:44:25 PM
Exciting matchup ahead – Dallas vs. Bucks. The home team is a -2 favorite, and I'm thinking of placing a small bet on it. I've got the home team at -2 because I believe Irving and Giannis have figured out how to make their tandem effective.

I'll tail you on this one, as I also think the Bucks will come out on top, thanks to the home court advantage. The crucial factor is that both Lillard and Giannis will be playing. We're in for a matchup between Lillard and Irving, and when it comes to Luka and Giannis, I'm not sure if there's anyone who can effectively halt or reduce their production, especially considering Giannis's aggressive play when driving to the basket.

Good luck to us. Yeah, I like the tandem of Giannis and Irving because when both are playing, I believe they only have few losses, and the Bucks are 5-1 at home which you can really tell their home court advantage is going to be a big factor if they'll win here. And as to covering the spread, I think -2 isn't too high to cover in just in case this game will end up a very close contest.

Also, considering a second bet on the Warriors Money Line! No Curry and Green, I'm fading the public.

Good luck, let me just watch this game and not betting as the Warriors hasn't been winning recently.

I thought you would like to be part of the public?  Grin

To make it bettors here stay away on the Warriors, I woud like to remind then that they are in 5 losing streak already, 1 on the road and 4 straight losses at home.

570  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever Thought of Giving Back to the Community? on: November 15, 2023, 10:29:50 PM
I would do that, but I won't be letting them know where my money was coming from. Although not everyone is willing to share, it really just depends on the personality of a person. As for me, I love to share with people who are in need, and I'm hoping that way I would also be blessed by winning consistently in gambling. If that were to happen to me, then I guess money wouldn't be a problem anymore, as we can become rich in gambling if we keep winning, and we can also continue sharing at the same time. Winning consistently is not for everyone, though, but if it were to really happen to me, I would stand by my promise to help.
571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How discipline are you in managing your bankroll? on: November 15, 2023, 10:04:31 PM
Recently, I've had some issues with bankroll management. Although I've been gambling for years, sometimes I feel the urge to get more action because I'm not satisfied with my winnings. It's as if there's no tomorrow, and seizing the moment seems like the best option. However, whenever I become undisciplined, it usually doesn't end well. My realization is that no matter how good you are at choosing the right bets, without discipline in bankroll management, you'll still end up losing.

Could you please share some of your honest experiences here and how you became a disciplined gambler, particularly in managing your bankroll? What factors do you consider to be satisfied and to stick with the game plan all the time?

If you are winning and you are not happy it means that you are winning which is great in itself as I have been losing consistently from quite a long time now.Since this is happening quite a lot I manage the balance now by placing small bets in sport by copying other people bets and I don't touch slot machines or other games that can drown your money in a very short amount of time.
No, I would never bet a small amount if I don't feel the thrill. I think it's useless to do that because what we're looking for when we gamble is to win and be thrilled all the time. So, betting without feeling something when the game concludes would defeat the purpose of gambling. The reason I'm dissatisfied sometimes is because of small wins, and that leads me to continue chasing wins until I lose my discipline and forgot to use a conservative approach in bankroll management.

I know managing the bankroll is super difficult if you feel the urge to continue playing but if you let yourself loose on it only problems will be on your way,so better to stop one moment and reflect cold headed. For me the strategy of entertaining myself by copying other people bets works great.
There's no fun in copying bets from other people, in my opinion. My goal is to win consistently based on my own effort, and I know that copying bets does not lead to consistent winning since we can't compel a tipster to share his bets all the time. In gambling, the only person we can rely on is ourselves.

sometimes when it feels like the team you are rooting is not going to make it, it pays to just cash out to salvage what little you can get back. even in the 4th round afaik the bookie will still allow us to cash out.  the best part of doing the live betting is for this purpose i think.

the availability of that cash-out button made me feel safer. but anticipating that our team will win in the end also burst the thrills in us that's why it's tempting to just hold on to the hopes. i have this kind of situation where i was about to click that button but kept watching the game until it was too late to cash out.

I can't stand that cash-out feature, honestly. I wish they never came up with it. We thought it would be a game-changer, but it just turns us into losing our confidence. I mean, we gamble because we're not afraid to take a risk, right? So why not ride out the game and see where it takes us? This cash-out thing can really tempt us to bail, and there are times when luck is on our side, we could've hit the jackpot, but nope, we second-guess ourselves, hit cash out, and bam, missed out on the big win.

for the time i have been betting, i waited til the game was over even when the team i bet for was losing. its not a healthy strategy. one situation that will help is when an NBA match scores 58 - 94, that's really hard to swallow. even if luck gives my team 10 turnovers in the last quarter, they can't win.

if you can do something to minimize your loss especially when luck is not on your side. it's the kind of option you would want to do as part of your plan.
the bookmakers added this option though so you might as well use it. but in the last ew minutes of the last quarter or in the last rounds of boxing, the bookmakers cancel this cashout option.

The cash-out feature isn't really there to help us cut losses; it's more like the sportsbook has the upper hand with their calculations. To keep it straightforward, just go with the flow and hope for that win in the end, in my opinion. Trying to play the cash-out game becomes a stress-fest, especially if you're handling a bunch of bets regularly. Monitoring all those games just to hit the cash-out button at the right moment feels more like a trading session than good old-fashioned gambling and that takes away the thrill.

The best way to avoid the temptation of pressing the cash-out button is to stay away from the device until the game is over. Y

That cannot be possible for me because I also like to do some live betting occasionally. Don't worry about me; that cash-out button does not bother me at all. I've matured in gambling already, and I know how to focus on things. As I mentioned before, I don't find that cash-out button interesting as it kills the thrill in gambling.

If you are a gambler, you don't retreat.  Smiley

Ty Lue doesn't seem to have that and he's willing to give him more authority on the court,

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10097062-lue-james-harden-doing-too-much-to-try-to-fit-in-with-clippers-since-76ers-trade
Quote
"He's doing too much to try to fit in," Lue said, per Tomer Azarly of Clutch Points. "We had a meeting yesterday and we said he needs to be James Harden… we have to allow him to be himself… We're going to play through James."

Lue also said that he told the team that "James needs to be James" and that they will increase his time with the ball in his hands, per Mark Medina of Fox Sports.

It looks like Harden will be the system again.

So what would happen to PG being PG, Kawhi being Kawhi, and WB being WB?

If they'll allow James Harden to dictate the team based on his style, that will make his teammates less productive because his style is he'll be the one doing more on the scoring and the ball would be on his hands most of the time. I think the solution here is still sticking with the system they build before James harden but the crucial thing coach Lue has to realizet that he can't play this big 4 altogether.
It needs to be a Clippers team and not just Harden, the thing is that they are trying to revolve around James and he's the newcomer and I don't think that will fit in. That's totally an offensive arsenal but I don't think it will work out to the very end, they are good when he's not there but right now it looks like a noob team. Let Harden play off the bench instead.

They almost beat the Nuggets on the road; unfortunately, they still fell short as they lost by 3 points. At least there's already good development, unlike in the past games where they have been losing by huge margins. In this game, PG was the top scorer with 35, followed by Harden with 21, while Kawhi only got 15. But that's okay; at least they are getting closer now. Eventually, they'll start winning games, so let that patience stay a bit.

Another game also is the Warriors vs Timberwolves, it will be a rematch and if the Warriors will lose again, it will be their 3 losing streak at home.

As much as I'm a devoted Warriors fan, I have to face the reality of their recent struggles. Two significant losses, first to the Cavaliers and then the Timberwolves, make it questionable to support them again. For this game, I'll likely watch without placing a bet. Alternatively, I might consider the over 220.5, hoping the Warriors will rediscover their rhythm.

Backing the Warriors again might feel like throwing money away*just kidding.

Honestly, I'm a fan, but I can't ignore their last two games' performance. The Warriors are usually unstoppable at home, but in those recent games, they just couldn't bring their A-game. The Cavaliers match had some excitement with a big run in the 3rd quarter, but then things melted down in the last quarter. Against the Timberwolves, it was a different story as they got dominated in the 3rd quarter and couldn't bounce back in the 4th.

What percentage of bitcoin investors are gamblers ?  Where will this figure be if we consider worldwide users ? I think it will be somewhere between 10-20% ? Also, it is possible that most of gamblers are still not bitcoin investors ? I see  less chances of the later happening.

There's no available data on this as centralized gambling platforms don't provide such information. To estimate the answer, we rely on a simple formula. First, we need to determine the total number of Bitcoin investors. However, this is challenging as Bitcoin transactions are inherently anonymous. While we can access data on the number of generated Bitcoin wallets, it doesn't necessarily reflect the number of investors, as one could create wallets and abandon them or create multiple wallets to diversify their investments.
580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is King on: November 14, 2023, 11:08:33 AM
Bitcoin is the primary coin, while the others are referred to as altcoins, standing for alternative coins. If Bitcoin will collapse, it could have a significant impact on the entire crypto market and probably the rest of the market will die. Although some individuals claim that their coin will replace Bitcoin in the future, history has shown that this hasn't materialized. It's easier said than done.

While it's acceptable to invest in altcoins, it's essential to ensure that a significant portion of your investment is in Bitcoin.

Trusting the original is a prudent approach.
