Just 1 day left before BTC and ETH price prediction ends. I think ETH will stay in the same range for next few days.
I am placing my bets on ETH for $1501 - $1750. I am not sure about BTC price though and I think it's more easier to predict ETH price.
Although the odds are not that great for this range but 1.5x is decent IMO.

I just checked the odds for the bitcoin price and they are not bad! I doubt that we will pass the 30,000$ mark, so the price will probably keep hovering in the range of 27,501$ and 30,000$ and the odd for that is 1.7 which is quite high. However, your bet for the prediction on the ETH price is also a good one and there is some value even if the odd is only 1.53. The price for ETH has been hovering in that range for a while now.

Thank guys, just made my bet on the same odds as we were discussing. However, there are a few concerning factors for me. The last 7 days' change for the bitcoin is super 10.91% which means Bitcoin is rallying hard upwards and it is just 200 bucks away from breaking the stated price range. Secondly, its 24-hour volume is also a staggering 17% as compared to yesterday's 24 hours. That is definitely the reason why we still have the odds very high.

I have still bet on the same 27-30K slot because this is the risk worth taking. Nothing just trying the bet with 1.8k satoshi. The middle window is just surprising and stands below 27K. There is no way it will fall below within the next 32 hours. That's the timer we are left with at the time of writing this assumption. Thats why risky bet earns you the most if they go through correctly.

As we speak, the current price of bitcoin is already above $30k breaking the more common choice of the betting range.
The price of ETH is still within $1501 - $1750 and I hope it remains in the range until the end of the month  Grin
562  Local / India / Re: Why Indians are not Adopting BTC over Gold? on: October 22, 2023, 03:19:47 PM
16% of Indian citizens own crypto ? I guess the number was lower than 10%. According to previous years reports I guess less than 5% global population owns crypto.

I doubt that even 5% is unrealistic based on comparing the Indian population. If 5% is true then we should have 210 million crypto users from India and if that is true then why the biggest crypto Indian community is filled with numbers less than 20. Cheesy

Actually, 16% of people aged 25 to 44 years old. That means it's not 16% of the total population. This was already mentioned in the survey as well. This is an average percentage. Of course, a survey company cannot do this survey with every person living in India because we know it's a huge country.

Most Crypto users are young people.

Sorry that's my miss. So we can see that the number of people owning crypto is still very low. The current regulatory status contributes a lot to this low number.
Hence Gold obviously becomes a major potential asset for all Indians and this is why Indians are not adopting BTC over Gold.

564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 22, 2023, 03:02:42 PM
Let's discuss the unique challenges of responsible gambling in the world of cryptocurrencies.

Crypto gambling can be fun, but it's important to keep our financial boundaries intact.

Share your tips and thoughts on staying responsible in this digital realm.

Imho, what's even more important than setting a reasonable budget is your attitude towards gambling. If you treat it seriously, as a job, you are far more likely to fail. Treating gambling as a hobby, just for fun, helps a lot.

You have a point. Many people often raise the question that people who say they gamble for fun are probably lying but the truth is that people who gamble for fun doesn't take gambling seriously.
It's more of an entertainment and this the major reason why setting a limit to such an entertainment it utmost necessary.
People who fail to understand this simple fact are the ones who fail in gambling and keep losing money they want to save.
Well, those who say that gambling couldn't be taken as fun are liars because I'm a practical example of this. My reason is primarily based on the fact that I can't be rich with gambling, at least not as a thing I can hope on for riches, and if my little betting actually makes me rich when luck shines upon me, then I will accept it as my fate. This is why I never take gambling as what is so important to earn my living or a significant amount of money for me, but rather as something to kill boredom when beer, movies and other hubbies couldn't be seen as the best alternative at that time.

Really, gambling is fun, it all depends on how we take it, but it is burdensome to those who primarily engage in it simply for the money they want from it. Changing that mindset will change the whole perspective and with even a little amount, you can enjoy your gambling while you lose at times and win at times.

Yeah right. I said the same thing that gambling is just a form of an entertainment and should be enjoyed rather than stress over it.
People do the opposite and fall for greed and end up losing money and get stressed. So the biggest tip on staying responsible would be take gambling as an entertainment and not as an income method.
565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think gambling is inbuilt, kids don't learn it anywhere, they do it! on: October 21, 2023, 08:02:46 AM
The Australian Government once said about abolishing gambling ads as a means of reducing gambling activities amongst underage people. But, I think they'll be no successful way of stopping young people from gambling. As it's in them. Most articles here also say things like gambling addiction being hereditary. That means gambling can be hereditary as well. Because I just watched from a distant two kids below 10 years, staking bets, after a long argument about who the artiste of a specific song is. They later staked close to 40 cents each, for the person who gets the answer right. Then they went ahead to verify. And I lost sight of them. I thought about, how come or who thought these kids about betting money during a long argument. I was able to memorize, back when I was a kid. We easily said, how much would you bet if it turns out I'm saying the truth; during an argument. It made me understand that, despite during those days we had no phones or access to the internet, gambling is somehow embedded to the brain of humans. Then, as a child, we weren't exposed to gambling. I could only remember of lotto, as a kid. But we still said things like "let's bet it"

It's good that the Australian Government thought of it and I think it's right to ban gambling ads. I know it might not create a major impact but it will surely reduce the gambling activities slightly.
The % might be relevantly less but it's worth it considering it is saving few people from losing money and getting addicted to gambling.
566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Much do you Value your Privacy in Gambling? on: October 21, 2023, 07:51:32 AM

So, for some days now, I've had this thought of "how much some people really value their privacy in gambling", like as a gambler, you signed up on a new casino and immediately, you are allowed to deposit and play without going through a KYC verification process like we do on some casinos immediately after registration.
You start playing and luckily, you won a significant amount of money.

I know the word "significant" can mean different values for different gamblers, so let's use figures i personally think are significant and capable of changing lives.

So, let's assume you luckily won anything as from $70,000 and above with a total bet below $100, and to withdraw this money, or even part of it, the casino requires you to pass all levels of verification in their system, which means that you will have to provide them all your personally information down to the most private of them all, and this casino is relatively new and you are not sure about their reputation.

Will you go ahead and provide them all they require from you for account verification, so they can process your withdrawal request, or will you willingly forfeit such amount of money back to the casino on the account that your private information is more expensive than that amount of money you have own from them?

I love to read your thoughts on this.

If we consider an amount like $70,000 then I would definitely give it a shot. It's a pretty good amount and as far as KYC is concerned then trying your luck for such an amount isn't a bad idea.
Also, the reputation of the site matters as well. If I see negative reviews and scam accusations about the site then I would think before providing the KYC but if it as good reputation then I will go for it.

It's 4 times less probable to roll 10000 than 9999, so, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't appear for like next 20 years, but I know that it can happen today too. Smiley
I still remember the heart stopping moment of when I rolled 10000 one fine morning 16th of October 2016 and was staring at my device for a few minutes and pinching myself that it was not a dream.

Before this there was a huge distrust among the community that 10k for 200$ prize was actually never possible and my post was criticized a lot too but I tried my best to clear the distrust and wetsuit created the giveaway of the ones who report 20-200$ wins would get 5$ rewards on their account from then on.

Here is the link to my thread where I declared my big win: Got 200$ from Freebitcoin today morning, call that a BIG WIN

I still roll whenever I have time hoping to see another one soon Smiley

Wow, I didn't knew you actually hit the number 10000. I thought nobody has hit the number yet but thanks for posting again.
0.31 BTC back then might have been less but today it is around $9300 which is a pretty good amount to win.
Tell me you didn't sell it  Tongue What did you do with the win if you may share ?

569  Local / India / Re: How do you convert your BTC and cryptos to INR on: October 21, 2023, 07:11:49 AM
Stop converting your Bitcoins to INR, if you don't understand the value of Bitcoin then you are a shit asking such a question. Bitcoin is more valuable than INR, if it wasn't then you would have been hiding behind a cave. You came here for what to know what?. Being a low rank member you should encourage a point for adopting Bitcoin, whereas you are talking how to get the most from Bitcoin for INR.

Everyone has the right to speak whatever they want. You shouldn't verbally abuse anyone for sharing information and OP is just sharing what he knows.
Besides that, one shouldn't keep holding an asset forever because if you don't take profits or use your coins for something then your coins are as good as zero.
The point is that if your bitcoins stay in your wallet for like forever then they are of zero value.

Encouraging bitcoin adoption is a good thing as you say it yourself but when you come to think of it, you will have to use your bitcoins for making payments and exchange to other assets.
So exploring options to do it isn't a bad idea but holding bitcoins forever is.
570  Local / India / Re: Oct 1 | Tax on online gaming & casinos set to 28% on: October 20, 2023, 03:16:45 PM
The major problem is that these ads are also displayed on TVs where even the kids watch it and get attracted to it.
Government should ban such ads to be displayed on TVs.
Advertisements of Condoms with sultry scenes done by famous actresses are also there, these are usually the gulity pleasures of many kids and were once ours too when internet access was not so common. Same with gambling based ads, in my opinion.

What is needed is awareness to be able to resist such types of temptations and follow what is needed for our betterment. Because money is so easy to spend these days, it must be saved before being spent. A lot of stuff comes in to discussion here and I think kids should be a part of that and taught the amount of hard work that goes in to earn each paisa.

But don't you think that getting addicted towards gambling does more harm then porn ?
Showing condom ads the most that can happen is that a kid can get addicted to porn but if he gets addicted to gambling then he might start stealing money as well and end up in huge losses.
That is my major concern with showing gambling ads on TV.

2) Their way of stopping impersonation fraud is to limit transaction value to $100, one can still get scammed for $100, how is that a solution?

Well, at least they are trying to limit the losses. I like this approach though. I know it's not a full proof solution but it's better to lose $100 than $1000.

Their 10 minute timer also keeps replenishing itself forever, what's the point of it then?

That's a red flag for me. There's no point if the trade remains active forever. May be it's a bug from their end.

There are no google reviews which makes it even harder to trust.
572  Local / India / Re: Oct 1 | Tax on online gaming & casinos set to 28% on: October 19, 2023, 03:16:57 PM
Few state governments banned dream11 and similar apps and others have some restrictions so it differs from one state to another and the regulations related to internet activities are not strong in our country that is why these apps are still making money.
The government can keep banning them and more such avenues to circumvent the official ban on gambling will come up and be made popular among the youth of India. If you feel they are bad, advice those who are addicted to it to quit using them, help them but dont force them, because it is an addiction after all.

Such cat and mouse games between the government and different app makers always exist, you just have to watch them have fun. Grin
I see this thing differently, most of the users of these fantasy sports are youngsters who may not be aware of what it actually it is so it is important for the company to brand them in the right way but they are promoting themselves as some kind of skill game which makes crores of people to bet on these apps every day, especially at IPL and World cup matches and all of them were bring into the concept of fantasy sport by deceiving.

Advice is to create awareness and also regulate the fantasy sports under gambling which will make them more regulated and help the minors to stay away from gambling because mostly these people come from the middle class.

You are right. Even I don't like the way these apps promote their platforms. They show as if people can earn easy money using their platform.
But the hidden truth is that people actually get attracted towards gambling using such platforms.
The major problem is that these ads are also displayed on TVs where even the kids watch it and get attracted to it.
Government should ban such ads to be displayed on TVs.
573  Local / India / Re: Why Indians are not Adopting BTC over Gold? on: October 19, 2023, 03:10:37 PM
Lol! What a question! No asset can beat Gold in India. Gold is not just an investment, it's an emotion. Also it is linked with Hindu religion in many ways. So Bitcoin or any other investment can never beat gold in India ever.

I personally purchase digital gold on every Thursday. Because in my religion, Thursday is considered auspicious. Bitcoin has no chance in breathing gold no matter how attractive the return looks like.

You purchase gold every Thursday ? You must be filthy rich then  Grin Is it sovereign gold bonds or anything else ?

Bitcoin has still a long way to go in India. People know about Bitcoin but the percentage is not huge. According to Times of India, 83% Indians aware of cryptocurrencies but only 16% own it. The recent survey results say 20% own it. It's impressive that four percent increase in two years. Crypto users age from 25 to 44 old men. Only men have participated in this survey.

Now back to the point. Indians still adopt gold because it's a part of the tradition. It's physical. Gold price is kind of stable and price increases over time and most of the time you can sell it for profit in the future. Compared to this, Bitcoin is volatile and not physical. It can give you profit in the long run but you might need urgent money during the bear market. So, you will be forced to sell at a loss.

Still, we should stay positive. Increasing 4% in two years is a huge change, my friend. You will notice some big changes five or ten years later.

16% of Indian citizens own crypto ? I guess the number was lower than 10%. According to previous years reports I guess less than 5% global population owns crypto.
So we can imagine how early we are and what will happen when the number goes above 10%.
Indian citizens contribute a lot to the global crypto population and I think the number will keep increasing.

As for the gold vs bitcoin comparison, I think bitcoin is better than gold obviously but it's better to diversify our wealth into both of these.
Gold is no doubt a popular choice of investment in India and that's the reason why majority of the people prefer buying gold than bitcoin.

When did Utopia launch the Android app ? I wonder how how Utopia is available on playstore since it is a P2P platform. Is google allowing P2P apps ?

Why should Google have trouble with p2p apps? Where did you hear it does not allow them? Regarding launch date I'm quite dumbfounded cause you could see it on play store itself.

I didn't hear it anywhere @libert19 I was just guessing it but it's my fault. I remember installing Tor browser on my phone as well so I should have figured it out.

577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports bets or in-house games, which is best for the weekend. on: October 18, 2023, 02:47:02 PM
Hey, fellow gamblers so I have some free time for the coming weekend and I want to spend it with family and also enjoy some games,  I want maximum entertainment and fun to ease me off the stress.

My challenge is, I have limited funds to spend on gambling for the weekend so I have to be very accurate and certain about what I will be spending my money on this weekend, and I am confused about which of the games to go for.

weekends are for football matches, where I can watch the games,  make analyses and stake my bets along that line,  which have always been the usual rutin for all.

Also in house games are also very exciting and entertaining since I will be in control of the games and their potential outcomes keeping in mind the possibility of the house edge,  so this brought me to this confusing position between which of the both to choose from and so I will like to get individual opinions on the best games for the weekend.

Sport bets vs in-house games which is most enjoyable and has a higher tendency of bringing much winning compared to it possibility of losing?

If it's in the weekend and you have people accompanying you then I think sports bets would be more exciting.
Betting on matches in the weekend will be great and it will be fun watching those matches especially football.
I would say, once the sports bets are over you can also include few in-house games as well just to increase the thrill and fun.
578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do your parents know about your gambling habit ? on: October 18, 2023, 02:43:41 PM
Most of the grown up people do not live with parents. At such, the parents are not aware about the interests and habits of individuals. Do you parents know that you gamble ? What was their first reaction towards your gambling habit ?

You are right. Many youngsters do not live with their parents and do what they like. For me though, it was not the case because most of the Indian youngsters live with their family.
Even after getting married they still live with their parents and so my parents know most of the things I do except gambling.
But my brother knows about it and he's okay with it because I am not addicted to it. He knows I play for fun and I am sure my parents won't have an obligation too.
As long as we are in control and don't cross our limits I think nobody will be bothered.
579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: October 17, 2023, 02:39:08 PM
I want to pose a question that I believe is quite expensive for many of us here, and it's a dilemma most of us can relate to. We all know that gambling is a game where we put our luck to the test. However, there's a crucial moment in every gambler's journey. the moment when you hit that big win. Do you cash out and savor your victory, or do you continue playing in hopes of even bigger winnings?

I've often wondered how many of us can truly stop playing when we are ahead. It's a challenge because the allure of winning more can be irresistible. I've witnessed situations where a friend deposited money into a casino, faced losses, and just when he was on the brink of frustration, he struck a significant win. Did he stop playing? No, he left his winnings in the casino, only to lose it all again.
So, I ask you all, what would you do when you finally make that big win? Would you cash out immediately to enjoy your winnings, or would you keep playing in the hopes of an even more substantial prize? Shocked

Oh man I just stop playing and take the money and run away from my system as soon as I win that game.
I know that keeping on playing will end up losing the money I have just won.
So it's better to take profits while you can and enjoy the win.
580  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: October 17, 2023, 01:06:27 PM
At one of the local gambling shop I visited during the weekend I happened to listen to a conversation between two bald looking gamblers at the shop talking about one of their gambling colleague who had won a big amount of money amounting to a million in the local currency and due to that win this colleague of theirs' has been avoiding them since e won that money. From their conversation it was obvious that they were a circle of close three friends that gamble together.

After all I finished with my bet headed home and was asking myself what could the colleague act that way avoiding his close friends they all gambling together and just because luck shines on him first he decides to create a distance and class. I couldn't actually annex a good reason why anyone should do that.

I can think of only 3 reasons why that colleague would behave in this way.

    1. He wants to stay low because he doesn't want many people to know about his winning. We know that lots of money brings unwanted attention and may be that's why he is keeping distance from everyone until he figures out what to do with this money.

    2. He would be thinking that his colleagues would ask him for money and he doesn't want to give them any.

    3. He might be busy enjoying his reward elsewhere.

Funny enough, I see some reasons in your line of thought. But if it was his friend that won that money and not him, i believe he would be complaining of the Same thing if his friend is giving him this same attitude he currently dishing out. Money some times brings out some hidden characters in people, and the guy has shown to be that kind of person to his friends. There is nothing wrong in giving his friends some amount of money to share within themselves, at least to cheer them up for their friendship over the years, doing that wouldn't make him go broke.
Staying away from his friends, wouldn't increase the money, if he doesn't invest it, the money will still finish and when it finishes will he still be able to see those his abandoned friends as people that he can mingle with again..No.

Sometimes I wonder why some people allow money to control their thinking. Who knows if tomorrow one of those his friends will win a bigger amount of money than what he won, and would also treat him the way he treated them. I don't see any reason why we are to stay far from our friends when we are somebody but embrace them when we are nobody.

Once you do leave and abandon those friends then it would really be final and there's no turning back but if you are lucky then there are really friends who are really that willing or ready to forgive you but of course this is something that cant be known until it would happen. Come to think that there's no such thing about permanent on this world and we do know on how relevant on having a friend is but its not shocking that for the sake of money then anyone could really changed up an instant and this is something not really that good to look at on which you are really that making yourself getting that controlled with the love of money or simply being greedy on which you are really that prepared or willing to surrender anything for the sake of it on which it isnt really that a good quality of a certain person.

Good thing if you do able to make those amounts to be able to make it big or something that could sustain you but we know that it wont really be that easy specially on investment or whatever business you would be making. Once you do able to fail then you would really be coming back into those basic things on which meeting up with friends and hanging out again? It wont really be that the same ever
again after you have abandoned them. This is why its never been that ideal on taking up such action specially when it comes to relationship because money cant really be able to
exchange or replace that loyalty and friendship.

That is true. Managing expenses and investments is not everyone's cup of tea. In fact, many people are bad at managing their wealth and end up bring broke even after having a huge amount of money.
We have already seen people who had won a huge amount of money in lotteries still ended up being poor. So such people lose their wealth as well as their relationships with their closed ones just because they changed when they got money.
Nothing lasts forever and I have even written it as my personal text in my profile. People should be aware of this fact and stay humble with everyone.
