5701  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin has just surpassed $ 4,000 and continues to grow rapidly in the near fut on: August 13, 2017, 09:29:50 AM
Bitcoin has just surpassed $ 4,000 and continues to grow rapidly in the near future.

Last August 9, the price went down to around $3300 and right now the price of each bitcoin is around $4200. It is very surprising to see that in a matter of 3-4 days, the price increased up to 30%. All of my friends and family members are going crazy due to their investments, yielding profit in less than a week. I speculated that bitcoin prices will reach $4000 by the end of the year but I underestimated its volatility and potential. Now, I have a feeling that by the end of the year prices of bitcoin would reach around $5000-$5500. Due to this, there really no need to withdraw coins and convert it to fiat.
5702  Economy / Services / Re: [ICO] Enigma Catalyst - Build Your Crypto Hedge Fund | Signature campaign [OPEN] on: August 13, 2017, 02:59:44 AM
Why is my starting post is 348??? I've made 24 posts since August 9, 2017. And August 9 is included for the third week? Currently I have 261 posts. So my posts from August 9 - 11 is null? Why? Those dates were included on the third week.
Hello,
Payment of second week may be delayed, you can still continue posting for third week, but do not worry for 2nd week payment, funds are ready, last delay is 14 August.
You posted that we can continue posting for the third week. You posted it last August 8 so technically posts starting from August 8 to the 15th of August is included for the third week.

Please fix my current start post and reply to this post or to my pm. Thank you.
Same problem here i posted 19 out of 25 posts of week 3 yet he says that it starts today , even though he said you can post for week 3 on his 8 august post .
He's technically saying that we should forget about posts from 8 august to today and start the 25 posts from today and this is a problem of managment not ours , we agreed to campaign terms and you can't change them whenever you want .
The 5 days delay was merely accepted but this new term is too much for us to accept .
We need clarification to this issue asap please .
it will be difficult for us to rush the 25 post when the cutoff time is Monday at 23:59. Pls correct your spreadsheet campaign manager.

Sir Woshib, I made exactly 25 posts from the 2nd week of spread sheet which is 193+25 = 218 last Tuesday. I do not get it on why my starting post count for the 3rd week is 233, where it should have been 218. Please correct the spreadsheet and like what they said, it is very difficult to rush posts as we are abiding the rules of the campaign. Thank you sir.
5703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What did you buy for money won? on: August 12, 2017, 02:56:43 PM
if i'm won i will buy my dream house and spend the in bussiness i buy also the coins as investment and the rest i will keep in my wallet as a saving for the future of the family, that's my plan if someday i won in gambling.

This is a good use for the money that you have won. Securing yourself to have your own dream house is one of the greatest achievement a person has. Everyone has a dream to buy their own house and with the help of gambling you can buy it easily but only if you had won. Investing the money you had won into a business is a good idea.

It is a good thing indeed. However, when will you win that much? People that win enough money to buy a house bet enough money to buy a house.
If you want to win $1,000,000 you need $1,000,000 to bet with or even more. The chances of winning a big amount of money that would allow you
to buy a house must be really low.

Who knows on when we are going to win that much? Just to be sure that there will be the right time for everyone to win such amount of money. We just have to know that when that time comes you have the idea on how you will spend that money wisely so that it won't be wasted and will just go for nothing.

There is nothing wrong with dreaming big but the problem lies on the implementation of THAT dream. If you want to own a house, like others said you will need a very big capital for gambling it and always remember that the chances of you winning aren't 100 percent. Another thing, risking and betting your money in general might not be the best idea since there is always that sword of damocles hanging over your head.

Instead of gambling, you may also want to consider investing your money today due to the constant increase on the prices of bitcoin. There are a lot of alternatives present for you to achieve your dream and I am very sure that gambling may not be the best move. But in the end, it is your money and decision. Do what you prefer and I wish you good luck.
5704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally Bitcoin is in the schools for students to explore on: August 12, 2017, 08:08:42 AM
I dont think the bitcoin is important for the education, but i think the blockchain its a important technology to be studied in the schools.
Am wondering, can you really separate Bitcoin from the blockchain technology especially when it comes to educating young ones about cryptocurrency? Not possible I must say! So then it is exciting to note that while some countries are busy looking for ways and excuses to ban Bitcoin, progressive and forward looking countries like Australia are throwing their weight behind laying solid foundation for the next generation.

It is quite insightful and a recommendable thing to do and which is exactly how and why some countries will continue to prosper and having dominance in world affairs while the retrogressive ones helplessly lament of inequality. I have a feeling other countries will be towing this line sooner than later.

Discussing about blockchain in schools while separating bitcoin from the topic totally defeats its purpose in a way that students will not fully grasp the practicality and use of it. Discussing bitcoin among schools opens new opportunities for them to learn and discover new ways and techniques to fully improve the system. With their understanding and knowledge of the blockchain, they may soon contribute into fully developing and improving bitcoin, as well as other cryptocurrencies as global medium of exchange. I really do not recommend not teaching these students about bitcoin due to its scope, explaining the value of money and other alternate ways of earning profit.

5706  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the world really needs virtual currencies on: August 11, 2017, 04:28:51 PM
I came across an article this morning that, to me, really shows why the world needs a virtual currency. I'm from England, and there's a saying here that goes: "When America sneezes, the rest of the world catches a cold." The article discusses the history of the Asian Financial Crisis, and how we may be heading toward something similar.

It amazes me that we have a currency that can potentially protect us (working people) from global financial crises. This is unique and incredible time in history!  Grin

https://www.rt.com/op-edge/398890-financial-crisis-asia-curency/

There are a lot of reasons on why the world needs virtual currencies present and here are some examples:

1. The convenience of buying online across other countries make the transaction safer and reliable;
2. There are a lot of people who earn money through the internet and are converted virtually. This makes their process easier;
3. Having virtual currency increases your capacity to buy online products due to some of them being marketed through the internet; and
4. This makes your identity unknown (either advantage or disadvantage).

Bitcoin's existence on the world opens windows of opportunities for people who are willing to work online and having extra income for their needs. Also, some of our monthly obligations like electric bills, internet fees, etc. are already accepting virtual currency as an alternative in payment due to its rising reputation over the years. Without having any virtual currency, there might be an unstable economy due to having lack of liquidity on the market.
5707  Other / Off-topic / Re: What wallets do you use? on: August 11, 2017, 01:42:49 PM
I only used coins.ph. as what i know its the only  trusted btc wallet  here in philippines.

I second that motion. Coins.ph is truly a fantastic bitcoin wallet provide as it provides different varieties and options for you to cash out your coins. Also like you said, it is the most trusted and used wallet here in the Philippines and almost all of my friends utilize it. Another thing, coins.ph lets you transfer your bitcoins directly to trusted banks without fees. It also has a function of letting you withdraw your money through an ATM card-less. Though the downside is, someone has control of your coins even if it is trusted, we may never know that someday they might scam us.
5708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Is Your Bitcoin Dream? on: August 11, 2017, 05:32:56 AM
Okay, I am just making that headline short and sweet. What I mean is: What is one big dream that you want to realized out of your Bitcoin income? No matter how small or big it is, please share it with us here.

As for me, I have a big dream of having my own 10-hectare farm somewhere here in my locality and I want to stuff that area with all the fruits I can find here and with my main products which are cacao and coffee.

I guess I have this special connection with the soil and the land that is giving us the food and sustenance daily. And who knows maybe years from now I can be able to issue tokens out of that farm...something like AgriTokens or AgriCoins.

Please share your dreams!

I only have a simple dream: all the earnings that I get from campaign signatures will be my first step into building my own house in the future. Right now, I am a college student, getting ready for law-school and I am planning on being active in this forum in the next 5+ years. I guess by that time, the price of bitcoins maybe would be around $4000-$5000 and all of my earnings would be my downpayment. This will not only help my family in terms of minimizing their expenses but also teaches me on how to value money more. Bitcoin truly is a blessing especially for me since I can participate two worlds at the same time.
5709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: can gambling give you lessons in life? on: August 10, 2017, 05:39:15 PM
Of course, It can give you a great punch to your face when you gamble all of your pay checks.. then bust. When you say gambling there's always a risk in it. I learned a lot in gambling.. there's a time I loss all of my earnings/savings in gambling that's why i dont wana play again....
yes that is what people claim , they have learned to not become greedy .

but the reality there is a lot of people still doing that repeatedly , continuously. an addiction will never easy to be erased. the real lesson will come to you when you are completely broke already , how to stop it before happened? i don't know , better to looking for the answer from a professional.

Whom ever you ask the answer should be almost same. Because in gambling there is no partiality it will treat everyone in the same way. The only difference b/w experienced gambler and newbie. Expereince player knows how to handle the situation, but the newbie doesn't know this and loses money. Apart from this, we will not learn any new things in gambling.

I don't think so. You learn from the mistakes yo've done in the past. Gambling is one thing that cam teach you that. A cocky newbie can be humbled if he loses a big amount. And that would make him better in the future.
This is one of the lessons on which a particular gambler would able to learn later on specially when he already suffer big loses in playing gambling he would able to realize later on about his mistakes which in next time games he would really able to know the things to do not to commit the same mistake again not only on gambling field to apply those learnings but also in real life situation too.

You can learn a very expensive lesson about freed if you gamble too much. Also money management and commitment. There so many life lessons we learn from different things everyday but gambling can be an extremely expensive one to learn. It's a lesson we don't want to have to learn because it is so hard and costs so much. But people tend to sometimes make the same mistakes over and over again at times.

Exactly as you said. Gambling itself may not teach you any lessons but the after effects of it. The reason on why one stops gambling is due to their realization that they need to mature in order to sustain themselves. I know a lot of people that went broke due to being addicted to gambling but their lives were turned around once they stopped their addiction and instead focused on what is really important to them- which is keeping their job and essentially supporting their families. Once the individual does not stop their addiction to gambling, that will slowly kill their chances of being successful in the future because no one gets rich due to gambling.
5710  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do we actually cash out of BTC? on: August 10, 2017, 04:19:07 PM
Or any alt-coins?  Meaning, turn our BTC into USD.

Well fortunately for me, my bitcoin wallet offers various options on whether to transfer my BTCs to credited banks in the Philippines and I also have the option to withdraw my bitcoins as fiat in a card-less ATM. There are still many options for me to choose from and varies per wallet. Though the downside is, some transactions have fees but the convenience it provides makes everything worth-it. Another thing, you can view your bitcoin as virtual currency since you can pay your electric bills, or monthly obligations with it, saving your fiat currencies.
5711  Economy / Speculation / Re: How MUCH will the FINAL BTC be WORTH? on: August 10, 2017, 11:20:05 AM
What is the final price for bitcoin, I'm sure, no one can say, not even Satoshi Nakamoto. It will constantly change depending on demand and supply in the market. And how will the crypto currency market behave is difficult to say. While such a market is developing, demand is growing and the exchange rate is also high.
Definitely, its very hard to say exactly what would be the price of finally mined bitcoin. Its price may be in millions also making a bitcoin holder a multimillionaire. But i think it would take a hundred more years for last bitcoin to be mined and by that time,we would not be there to witness its price.

When I saw this thread, I was supposed to say something but all of you covered it already. In short, NO ONE KNOWS! That is the reality that people need to understand because that is the nature of bitcoin, being decentralized! Investors take that as an opportunity to invest because its price tomorrow might be higher than today.

Again, no one really knows the final price of bitcoin but by looking at the price chatt, we can conclude that there is an increase on bitcoin's price overtime. Also considering the advancement of technology, this may affect more the factors in determining its price.
5712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it worth using bitcoins anymore for gambling ? on: August 09, 2017, 04:08:45 PM
It depends, if you use bitcoin only for buying products and services then using bitcoin to gamble is a great option, but if you are an investor that is looking to improve his profits then the best thing you can do is too no longer use your bitcoin to gamble.
the point of this topic actually discussing about how high the value bitcoin , how the volatile price effecting your winning value . current and the future value , as when you have 1 bitcoin worth $1,000 make it double to 2 bitcoin but the price gets dropped half which means $500 per 1 bitcoin so your 2 bitcoin now have $1,000 value. it's feel like useless and wasting time indeed when the drops happened. just luckily the price recently keep increasing.

In my opinion it is not worth it to gamble out your bitcoins because of the reasons that you just stated. The price of bitcoin tomorrow might be higher compared today. But either fiat or bitcoin, it is better to gamble your cash due to its constant price and easier access compared to bitcoin. Lastly, gambling out your bitcoins will only result to a negative impact on your part since fiat is easier to get compared to bitcoin.
5713  Economy / Economics / Re: Cashless society on: August 09, 2017, 02:46:16 AM
Have you ever wondered how would the world's economy be like in the future as a cashless society?

Perhaps, with the increased traction of blockchain acceptance nowadays, could lead to the creation of digital fiat currencies powered by blockchains that are managed by governments themselves. With this in mind, there would be no need for physical cash, as digital fiat currencies would provide many advantages such as quick settlement, global payments, full transparency, implants use on citizens to make payments, and more.

If this becomes a reality, which I'm sure that it will, it would radically transform our lives for the better and reduce criminal activity as a result of the full transparency and auditability that a digital fiat currency would have thanks to the power of the blockchain technology.

Also, it makes me wonder if cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin would exist by that time, or will they co-exist with digital fiat currencies.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this.  Wink
We are moving towards that direction but I do not think it is ever going to be achieved, there are too many impediments, many people like me do not like the idea of a completely cashless society, also that movement is lead to try to control you more effectively but now that bitcoin has appeared that system of control is going to be a lost less effective.

It might works on some big country like USA, Korea and Japan but i'm not sure for other countries. Cashless society is our future and we can't deny it, especially our technology is always upgrade and our life will follow it, maybe our next generation will start using cashless society.

Exactly! Half of the world's population are in poverty and due to bitcoin's nature being available in the internet, I doubt that they will have constant access at this point in time. We are advancing into a technological age wherein developed and some developing countries are innovating methods to develop infrastructure that will soon benefit their economy. The problem is, the rich nowadays are becoming richer and poor are becoming poorer. This leads to an imbalance that would result to chaos in poor countries due to their priorities, focusing first on their livelihood and not the internet.
5714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why we still gambling while we always lose? on: August 08, 2017, 05:36:00 PM
People who gamble are(generally) those who have no problem in fulfilling their basic needs.
People gamble as a recreation.
But when gambling leads to addiction, it becomes a social disease.
Gambling is like a cigarette. First you take it at your will and if you do it in an uncontrolled way, it will take you.

Yes it is some kind of sickness and I cant get it out of myself. I dont really care about it because Im not really thinking about getting profit anymore. Im just thinking about getting some fun when I play and Im good with it. I have fun and I only spend a small amount so I dont think that it really control me

All thoughts are not to be said right, because sometimes we turn every thought of what was to become our beliefs, so it's better you do an analysis of your mind and also looking for someone who can be trusted to tell the truth do you believe is true or not. because gambling is definitely bringing someone getting a disease (addiction). It all can not avoid gambling because it is definitely going to give it, even though you make a plan

any kind plan could be just useless when you have no discipline in it.

stick to that one no matter what and you might won't get addicted to keep playing even you are always lost. that time are only when you have completely get addicted , prevent it by decreasing to spend your time in gambling and do other things to distract it.

The reason on why people still gamble even though they know that the odds are against them is due to the hope that they are clinging for. Due to this, they unconsciously bet their earnings until everything is all exhausted. Once a person gets addicted to something, they develop an attitude of clinginess and excitement regardless if its is beneficial or harmful to them. To be able to cure themselves, they first need to understand their priorities as individuals and the things that they should be focusing on.
5715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: August 07, 2017, 02:26:29 PM
Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?
That can totally happen. Nothing is last forever. But I don't think that's an end too soon for bitcoin.

Like you said, it can totally happen but the chances of it are very slim. Bitcoin now reigns as the number one cryptocurrency despite the growing number of competitors in the market due to its high price and usage. Another thing, millions of people are already investing into bitcoin and its popularity has already been noticed around the world. Some countries even ban the usage of bitcoins due to its nature being decentralized, thus making it difficult to regulate. Well, no one knows what will happen in the future but I really doubt that bitcoin will be replaced soon.
5716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much risk in bitcoin investement ? on: August 07, 2017, 02:42:24 AM
I just wanted to know that, what amount of risk is there in investing in bitcoins.
Right now i am planning to buy btc approx 3-4 btc and just hold them as i guess the price of bitcoin will increase in future and i will get some good profit. But i want to know what is the risk involved. Can bitcoin price decrease and is this right time to buy the bitcoin.
There is a time when bitcoin's price decreases and again there comes a time when bitcoin's price increases. You will have to wait when bitcoin prices fall, you will not be loss if you buy bitcoin on low price

Well it is risky but not risky enough compared to gambling. Check this chart out: https://www.coindesk.com/price/ - Under that, you can see the history of bitcoin prices and it is worth note taking that the prices actually increase overtime. Compare it to last January 2017, the prices were only around $1000 and right now it has reached up to $3200. In my opinion, the prices could reach up to $4000 by the end of the year but you need to take the risk on investing.
5717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can cryptocurrency make real money disappear? on: August 06, 2017, 05:57:05 PM
What are the chances of living in a world with no actual money ?  Shocked

Nope, not possible. Even if fiat was impossibly removed from the country, another type of currency will rise which would be similar to fiat and value. The thing is, cryptocurrencies cannot replace fiat due to its nature being available online and half of the world's population does not have any access to the internet. This would then lead to financial crisis and imbalance among other developing counties since they are mandated to provide internet access across the country, which is not their priority. Bitcoins and other cryptocurrency may give an opportunity to these people to earn online but replacing it with fiat is absurd.
5718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to quit Gambling for good? on: August 06, 2017, 05:28:35 PM
Stop play gambling is not easy. Many people are stressed out by gambling. Motivation from the nearest person is the most useful. Calms down and regrets all actions

Being addicted to gambling may be hard for someone to change but like you said, if the person is motivated and determined enough to stop then it would not be possible. I know a lot of people who were once a gambling addict but they change their ways when they realized the situation that they were in, and the priorities that they must accomplish. For as long as you really want to quit something, just take your time and do it slowly but surely. If you force yourself to quit it, chances are that you are most likely to fail rather than to succeed quitting.
5719  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin had a stable price, would it still be as popular? on: August 06, 2017, 01:35:09 PM
Do you think if BTC had a stable price which could only be altered by $0.01-0.10 it would still be as popular and as used?
I don't think it will be popular more than were it is now with volatility. It value is what bring about this volatility and it's volatile nature is what brings about it being popular. For me I came to know about bitcoin when I read an online blog about how bitcoin has returned thousand of dollars to the early investors.

I have to agree with you even though I have my reservations about it. Bitcoin would still be popular regardless of its constant price among students/people who are looking for an alternative way on earning money. One example here would be the signature campaigns since they pay fixed or per post. I take the volatility of the prices of bitcoin as a bonus in my pay. The government of each country also might intervene and accept it as an alternative medium of exchange if the price is constant and regulation would be easier for them. But the downside of this, this would not attract investors who are taking advantage of its price being volatile.

5720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin is the new era of currency? on: August 06, 2017, 11:57:10 AM
Since bitcoin is trending now world wide because you can easily earn this and it exchange in real cash. Is bitcoin the new value of currency in the internet? Is he the new money? Can we use it in buying foods and etc in the future?

Unless government accept bitcoin it will never be the new era currency.  It should be recognized and valued by government all over the world to gain its place at new era currency.  It maybe the trend but being the trend doesnt mean it is the next  big thing without any recognition of different country all over the world.

Yes and the popularity of bitcoins is limited at a moment and not many people knows about it or using it so when when its usage will give tough competition to fiat at that time we can consider it as a new era of currency.

Bitcoin may be the new era of currency but what hinders it from growing and spreading is its nature, being available only on the internet. Since most of the population around the world is in poverty, the government of each country must first address their economic needs in order to them to have access to such luxury. One example here is the continent of Africa (not to offend anyone) which has countries who do not have any access to the internet. The government must embrace its responsibility for their advancement and growth.

Nevertheless in other developed and developing countries, bitcoin's popularity is steadily increasing and growing through the years and its existence is being widespread to other networks, thus resulting to new investors and earners. Bitcoin is truly the new era of currency and the future it brings may be the push that everyone is looking for.
