581  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Timeline ng Pag Hack ng mga BTC Exchanges on: June 08, 2020, 03:01:08 AM
Mt. Gox is the worst hacking event happened in cryptocurrency. Grabe, almost $640 M ang nawala. Mabuti at hindi ko pa natutuklasan ang cryptocurrency that day kundi baka nawalan din ako ng pera. Hehe.

Gusto ko lang idagdag ang etherdelta, link wala kasi ito sa list mula doon sa link na nasa itaas. Ito yung kauna-unahang exchange hack event na nasaksihan ko sa cryptocurrency.

Quote from: Shimmiry

Afaik, some exchanges are hacked because of inside job.

582  Economy / Economics / Re: Where and How to Spend Your Bitcoins? on: June 07, 2020, 11:41:34 PM
A lot of people in recent days have started to look into digital currency, but here is the question — where and how can you possibly spend your bitcoins and altcoins?BTC

In this moment, I don't want to spend my bitcoin and altcoins because I didn't yet earning profits. I just want them to store on my metamask and electrum. The current condition of cryptocurrency is not for buying goods, I see it as an investment for the future. We all know that someday, our society will turn into digital currency. And we are lucky enough because we are still the pioneer of cryptocurrency.

But I am think when I take profits to buy my own car soon using bitcoin. Because a lot of online sellers are accepting cryptocurrency right now.
583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [DISCUSSION] How to overcome a big loss in gambling? on: June 07, 2020, 11:16:33 PM
I do think one should take a break from Gambling if they have suffered any huge loss.

If you suffered a loss that could mean :

1. Either the site you were using wasn't 100% transparent and real .
One should always check their spam records . Not every site is going to give you equal probability of winning.

2. You are not calculating your own money and risks properly. One should take into account what they earn , what they should save and what they should use for Gambling.
-I always use the 50% rule .
50% of what you earn you should save , rest 50% you should actually use for your daily activities , 10% of that you can use in Gambling.

See Gambling is like this age old tradition which is not something which should be abused . In moderation it does have many benefits. I have seen people win *100 times their investments. Just be careful and choose your gambling investment sites carefully and research .
_________________________________________________________

I do think some things that can benefit you in this case might be :

1. Check if the rules of the site are fair .
2. Save up ! So that you can have a stable bank account .
3. Learn from the experience of others and yourself too .
4. Do not use all of your money in just one bet , split it up so that you can minimize the loss .
5. Mentally prepare yourself for everything
Thanks for suggestion!
When you are never winning for your entire game, definitely the gambling site that you are playing is not genuine. I believe that every gambling site has their own calculated algorithm in order for the players not to win for every game. That's why a lot of players are losing than winning in gambling.

We need to be cautious in playing. We are risking our money here without assuming of ROI.
If you are continuously losing the game, stop playing. Because it might not a problem of your strategy but it is a way of a gambling site to deceit players.

Not all gambling site are transparent, that's why we have to conduct a research before depositing our money.

We should also consider that cryptocurrency trading is not for everyone.
We all know that trading is extremely risky, crypto, or non-crypto and it takes time and needs time especially if you are a daily trader or whatever.
Also, the more we chase our losses, the more possibilities that we will also lose again.

I know some of the crypto traders in our local that already stopped to trade because they already lost a lot. Well, I don't think if they already gave up? Maybe they are just taking a break.

People who have spare money or ready to take some sort of risk and have the skills to trade or have knowledge about the crypto and the coins in which they are trading then accordingly they can trade and check it out if in few trades how does it go. Also one vital thing is that have a stop loss in place as it is required initially.

Skills need to be learn here in order to maximize our profits. Yes, we all know that trading is risky business, heck, we heard so many members you have lost tons of money, it is really hard to be a trader here and not loss along the way. Crypto market is one of a kind, others even compare it to gambling because of the risk.

To the OP, it might be a good idea to just take it slow and look at your trading strategy and improve it. Chasing you lose might bring more pain in the end.
Due to the high volatility of cryptocurrency and bitcoin, it is really a risky to trade without any knowledge and experience. In fact, even you have those criteria, you can't guarantee that you will take profits in this market. But then, it is advisable for those starters to read and watch tutorials in trading.

Another is that, we must trade the money that is excess in our monthly budget. If we cannot sustain our daily lives, probably we will sell our hodl coins even it is not yet gaining profits.
586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "NEW NORMAL" Betting on: June 06, 2020, 10:58:28 PM
Snip..
Though real sports still hang, esports are taking their steps forward. This is the exact moment for other people to appreciate also esports because I have seen a lot of tournament in esports and only few wants to watch the game. And when it comes to gambling, there are many bettors in sports like boxing and basketball than esports.

But then, I also want to watch a new season for my favourite sports yet COVID-19 still threatening the whole world. And probably, even I am too fanatic of basketball in my country I wouldn't risk myself in watching the game. Maybe, I will bet only.
587  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [REVIEW] @BTTSuperNotifier_bot and why should we use it! on: June 06, 2020, 08:11:59 AM
You can also try to use simultaneously these other bots:

[TelegramBot] Merit watcher and Mention Notification Bot by giammangiato and [TELEGRAM BOT] Merit, Trust List, etc. [INFORMATION] by Greatarkansas

Since they are all helpful for us. Why not we support them all?

In terms of feature and its usage, I can say that these bots are the most helpful bots in my telegram. Whenever I want to look for merited users, my merits and users who replied to my comments will become easily because of their innovation. Giving 10 stars is not enough for these creators. I would give them even in hundred stars because they ease my work in viewing threads and counting my merits (though I have a small amount of merits).

Since I am fan of innovation, I tried these 3 bots and always look for it in my telegram.

588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: June 05, 2020, 11:55:11 PM

Personally, i don't missed him playing in the PBA because i am not a fan of his antics  Grin. On the other, i pity him and it's about time to let him play again after more than a year of ban. With all he have done during the pandemic, gut tells me he is good to go in the PBA once more. At 32 years old, he is still on his peak, he can still run the floor with ease, thanks to his genetics lol.

Just for fun, maybe we can bet just a small amount of BTC here for a simple question.

Would Abueva will be able to play on the first game of Phoenix when the PBA resumes?

YES = amount of btc
NO  = amount of btc

Or anyone got a better idea, this is just for fun  Smiley.

I am always waiting for Calvin to return in PBA and Gilas. He is really an energetic player. If he enters the court, he changes the game offensively and defensively. But because of his  quick-tempered, he was suspended in PBA. Well, that is the appropriate punishment for every players who does not abide the rules.

What happened to Abueva should be a warning for other players specially for those who always in brawl.

Since we will make a mini-betting.

1. I suggest to have atleast 2 weeks to bet so that there is no more speculation. In addition, we don't know if on the last week of this month PBA will officially announce it. So I suggest that we have to make a duration time in betting.

2. We should have an escrow service or addresses so that those who bet for no or yes can send it right now until the duration period.

I just observe that there is zero bet for "no" haha. It's too hard to bet no when there are many bet in "yes". So we may adjust the winning rate for 60/40?

60- yes
40- no

If you bet 400 pesos in "no" you can win 600 pesos if you are correct. And if you bet 600 pesos for "yes" you will win 400. So that we balance the game? What do you think?

We may depend the rate based upon the update or number of bettors.

Set the game sir bisdak, I will bet 10dollars for "yes"

590  Economy / Speculation / Re: Continue to Hold your bitcoin on: June 05, 2020, 09:24:52 PM
Holding bitcoin for a long term is good. The fact that bitcoin doesn't exceed yet its ATH, you can still hold bitcoin. However, it may take a year or more. It is also risky to hold bitcoin because it is volatile. It may goes up and down rapidly as well. If you are really supporter of bitcoin then I think it is better tl buy and hold it right now.

Another one, buying bitcoin depends upon our entry point. Imagine those people who bought at 19K dollars, even they hold it till now they won't even get their 25% of their capital. That's why technical analysis is important.
591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [DISCUSSION] How to overcome a big loss in gambling? on: June 05, 2020, 09:02:34 PM
Gambling is not only based on luck, but some gambling games do also have strategies to win the game. Even it's a simple strategy like bluffing or counting the probabilities, it can turn the table that will change the current situation of that round. So at some part, analysis to make improvement is a good thing, to review your recent match and avoid those things that make you aggressive and lose the game. Having analyzation on your matches will make you realize what're the dos and don'ts in the game. Even in dice, you can predict the outcome by analyzing the flow of the algorithm, the number of bets, and players because sometimes your mind always take those as a basis to define your next bet.
There is so called "bluffing" in poker. Most of dominated players do that and I think that is one of the best example that we use also our strategy in gambling. Yes, you have to be lucky but strategy in playing is require.

Don't just depend upon our lucky because if you play without a strategy is just giving your money in casino for free. So I agree with this opinion.
592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: PI Network! A huge trap[Warning!] on: June 05, 2020, 12:52:38 PM
do you think this team from Standford University with MBA, PhD degree are ruining their reputation just to build a shitty scam app?
You have no idea, someone with low educational level will create random scam websites, but if they are graduated from standford we expect them to be more creative for their purpose. Educating in university won't change the personality. There are highly educated and also some illiterate scammers, they both have their own ways.

The reason why I said this can be a malware in the first place is the application asking user to execute it every 24 hours. This is exactly what a malware need because the process will be killed usually by random defenders/OS and needs to be executed again. Also, stealers usually stay quiet in your phone and just collect the information, what they need? to be execute periodically to upload the collected information.
After all I said even if it's not malware, we understood they are making income by ads secretly without of saying anything about it.
I downloaded this app when it was launched. Upon looking at your thread, I am convinced that it is scam. Yet, I don't want to accuse them without their launch in exchange. Who knows? Even the impossible mission in going to the moon was did by humans. But this is a good thread so that other users may warn in case all allegations are true.
593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies by market cap with obvious scam blocking filters on: June 05, 2020, 12:28:04 PM
How come you removed Ethereum and kept bitcoin cash?

BCH is an obvious scam and even have a CEO. BCH scam thousands of people around the telling with their fake "true bitcoin"propaganda.

BCH is a scam. It is the same as going in front of walmart , openning a store like "walmart cash" and claiming they are the real walmart. Why BCH didn't make their own currency? Because nobody would use it? lol

while Ethereum is doing all effort to create something new and never attempted before.
The main reason why BCH forked the bitcoin is to modify the transaction in bitcoin like fees and its network. Saying it is a scam is not good. Though it was involved from controversy. I think we should not utter words easily to BCH. If BCH is scam then I think it was dead already.

When it comes in ethereum, I want to say that it is really good altcoin. In fact, one of the best altcoin for me is ethereum. It has development and it still kicking in the market even bitcoin loses its trend.
594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble to escape your problem? on: June 05, 2020, 10:13:08 AM

I do not relate my problems with gambling. I play gambling only to get the entertainment and fun. I never play gambling with a hope to get money which will help reduce my financial problems. I know this will not be going to happen and i will be disappointed if i have so much hope from the gambling.

Actually when I escape my problem by playing casino, I do not win. Why? Because I feel iritated and out of discipline. I easily bet any amount without any strategy.

That is why when I am gamble my money, I usually in a good mood because I enjoy playing. However, if I lose in gambling I upset at the end of the game. And this is the reason why I get problem again.

Gusto ko lang sana malaman bro kung ano naging karanasan mo sa trading? Did you use all of the above strategies and is it profitable?

I'm also into trading but i'm a holding type of guy, buy low sell high at mabisa naman na paraan though hindi nga lang kalakihan profit at kailangan talaga ang pasensya kasi nandyan lang ang crypto mo sa exchange the whole time pero at least it's always going north in terms of BTC.

But because I want to earn. Kaya inaral at inaaral ko ang trading.

Though hindi ako ganun pa kabeterano sa trading, I am sharing this as a guide para sa baguhan at gusto din matuto.

Naisip ko na yan dati bro. Kaso risky yan masyado. Do you have cut-loss method? Applicable yan for long term as in long period of time. Kaya maganda ang TA kasi malalaman mo yung entry and exit point mo. But overall, ang ganyang strategy ay mabisa din.

Snip

Salamat po sa guide.
596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is good for environment on: June 04, 2020, 09:45:07 PM
The fact that GPU/CPU has a wattage of 600-1200 watts that consumes a lot of electricity, then what more in an ASIC mining rig?

Based on what I read, ASIC mining rigs have a power consumption of 1000-6000 watts so obviously, it's not an eco-friendly thing. Some countries that use combustion byproducts are not really good for the environment and especially for the health of the people. Most of the source of electricity has an environmental impact on our air, water, and land, which greatly affect many things.
I am quitely unfamiliar with bitcoin mining, though I know the basics of it and I am thinking that alternative energy is good in electric consumption of miners. In addition, it is really a eco-friendly because renewable energy can sustain bitcoin mining consumption as well as our electric energy will not be depleted.

But upon your comment, I think it depends upon the rigs that we will use in mining bitcoin. And if they are really high consumable rigs then it consumes a lot of electricity which in the end, our nature as well as humanity will harm.

I have seen an article before, it talked about what happens if we convert in solar energy. Though it is good in bitcoin mining because it is free and renewable, it may affect also the plants since the sunlight that may absorb by plants will be absorbed also by solar panels. Therefore, solar panels can seize the energy that plants may absorb.
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop blaming bounty hunters on: June 04, 2020, 12:17:13 PM
Obviously, bullshit projects often offer large budgets to attract participants and promote their projects. The price of the token will then drop several times or even they will never distribute it

They won't even bother to recover the price back to normal when it dumped by their holders. some legit coins like the top coins in the market are making non-stop development to make their investors stay with their project and to attract some investors to invest in them because they saw the activeness and the updates of that project. especially if they collaborated with some big companies and advertisements on some known sites.
This is the main factor that we must consider in investing ICO or IEO. If the project that we will lend our money is deserving or not. A lot of projects are blaming bounty hunters for greediness in selling their coins in market. But if their project works and develops, does bounty hunters will sell at a lower price?
A lot of project exist becomes shit. And this is the reason why I left bounty campaigns.

My preference in gambling are slot and sports betting. But in sports, I am betting only in basketball and boxing. I am not really fan of football. When it comes to card gaming, I prefer to play blackjack and poker. I am really addicted in poker and that is my largest loss in gambling. But when I am tired, I play slots or hi-lo.

We have our own taste but we have our own goal in playing. That is to win and entertain.

Also I have learnt that it's important that you respect your seniors here (senior as in the more established members) because they have years of experience here. Forum is no one's monopoly, but they have earnt surely trust and credibility for that respect!
Respect is not expected on an online forum, and definitely not on bitcointalk. Respect is more suited in homes or schools or in more real life situations. I understand your point, but respect isn't the word to use, you can admire users who have achieved higher ranks than you and also seek help from them, but I'll not say respect, that's the reason some users use the word "sir" which I personally consider absurd.

Respect can be used everywhere even in online social platforms. Admiring someone is just believing because of his insights, intelligence and behaviour. But if you respect someone, though it argues your opinion. You will acknowledge him. If you respect someone, you are open to his suggestion. If you admire someone, you are open because his suggestion suits in you.

How does saying sir is absurd? It is a formal way of communicating. Our industry has a lot of professional people at the same time, anonymous. Therefore, it is good if you talk with a please just like putting sir in front of his pseudonym. Besides, that three letters can set the mood of your discussion.

Respect our senior, that's why I respect your opinion sir. And I believe that in order for us to have consensus in this forum, we should respect everybody's opinion.

For OP, i agree with you. We have just to focus in learning rather than wasting our time in drama's. But then, we need also to look in that thread in order for us to be aware of what is happening in this forum.
