Thank you for your reasoned response, Jared.
Am I right to surmise that the $250,000 investment is split proportionally between DigiPay LLC and DigiTrade International Ltd?
Did your research at last, did you? Should've done it in the first place.

Note: Too many sharks need to be spoon fed info.

How about you produce your credentials, 'Mr Investor'? How have you invested your chump change so far?

In other words, you lied. Smiley

This forum has many examples of private investments being rubbished by members like you. I say again, I'm not providing you with anything.
 Cheesy

Oh, be quiet, liar.

Adults are talking, child. Go lie and troll elsewhere please.
LOL. Keep talking big, 'Mr Investor'. Let us know when you've placed your 3.233453 LTC buy so we may marvel at your investment strategy.
See, you've been caught lying. But instead of apologizing or running away to hide, you try to create a new argument over something new that I've never implied. You're acting like a seven-year old.
You are NOT an investor. Get over it. If you want to add value, then look into creating a service, or helping out with one, and put yourself out there like other devs do.

Don't feel like a big man because you know how to trade on a few websites. We've all been doing that for some time now. Do your research and stop trying to act like you know better than anyone else.
Why are you lying again? Why are you acting like a spoilt brat? When have I ever said I was an investor of DigiByte?
Yes, I've embarrassed you, but you were asking for it by lying.
Why are you you disrupting this thread now? We've just established a dialogue with Digibyte, but you are burying his response with your inane comments. I am very interested to hear him respond to my question, but your lies and idiocy are ruining this.
My friend, you are deluded. All that happened was that the information that most of us had read before posting had to be reposted for your benefit.
I'm not your friend, judging by your malicious behavior towards me. Stop engaging me.

@Digibyte, waiting for your confirmation.
Please read your posts again. I think you were the one being malicious. There are too many people like you on this forum who think a barrage of insults is an acceptable sign off to any argument. For future reference, just calm down on the insults, put your point across, and you might get different reaction. Try it, you might like it.

And, if you don't engage me I won't engage you. Your choice.

Mastercoin was $52 on that chart and is now $2.65  Shocked
Auroracoin has gone from $22.22 to $0.02 - 2 cents (I'm not even working that loss in % out).

He ignored that I only had 0.03BTC to lend. He ignored the interest free repayment I am offering. (Strictly do not accept interest payments of any kind). That's before I started vetting him for the loan.
Can interest on such minimal loans cause destruction, unemployment and all that you mentioned + you have a high risk of getting into a loss by giving out interest free loans. You are like gambling your money in search for tips.
Some people don't like usury http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usury
I don't like it either, but it's the basis for most modern lending. OP might be taking a risk, but it may be based on his principles.

You sure we're not riding this crazy horse straight to hell? All the smart money may have already been made, taken, and banked.

Blockchain, and blockchain technologies, may be the way the industry/community is heading. History might regard bitcoin and other altcoins as an early by-product left at the roadside when blockchain technology matured (losing many people and institutions millions in the process).

This forum may be the last death throes of bitcoin/alts as the currency side of the technology gets dumped for the true advancements possible from blockchain technology.

Just a thought. A FUD thought.

There is no way to go to hell. A currency is made to be used. It is not an investment.
As long as you see Bitcoin in the eyes of dollars, euroes.. you're looking at it in a very limited and wrong way.
Not at all. I'm not looking at it in any way in relation to dollar/euro etc. I don't see how my post gave that impression.

What if bitcoin is just a side attraction we've all gotten distracted by on the way to the true technological advancement - The Blockchain

I'm not comparing anything or seeing it in the eyes of investment return. Bitcoin may be a massive distraction (because people want to be rich - whether in fiat or crypto terms) that's blinded people to the advancements possible with blockchain technology.

Isn't your topic title actually contradicting you when you've already switched your position your first post about whether you'll debate anything and everything? You either have total free speech or not at all you can't pick and choose what is acceptable to talk about otherwise it isn't free speech.

Yeah. I contradicted myself.

Nah, I didn't.

*facepalm* Cheesy

lol. Smiley

Anyway, I am picking the topic.

I say God doesn't exist.

@Digibyte, you had about two weeks to prove me wrong and demonstrate the investment is real. The fact that you have kept deathly silent and are just depending on a dishonest moron to defend you says a lot of your values.

EyesWideOpen,

Thank you for taking your time to research, question & discern the truth behind our investment. We all know the crypto world has been rife with scams, liars and other nefarious bad actors.

Please understand that after a couple years of dealing with these message boards & bad actors we have grown tired of following every post or message that distracts us from our end goal and long term vision for the future success of DigiByte. It appears we have not followed this particular thread as closely as we should have as we have been busy working & getting things done.

In short the investment was made by a single private angel investor (not TofuGear) to create two privately held companies that will be building usable infrastructure around the DigiByte network. However, this also means part of the investment is being used to strengthen the open source protocol & to further develop DigiByte. No DigiBytes were sold so there was no "ICO" "IPO" or what ever its being called these days.

Private investments occur all the time without disclosure in the global business world. Due to NDA's with other companies we are working with as well as our investor we are not able to disclose more at this time. Also, it makes no sense for us to reveal strategic details & plans before we are fully ready to implement and deploy them.

Quote
For all we know, you could even be one of the anonymous people behind this coin. At the very lest, we know you are a bagholder by your ridiculously spirited defense of this 'investment'.

We have never hidden anything about DigiByte or where it came from or who has worked on it. I myself, Jared Tate, the creator of DigiByte have been publicly known since the beginning of DigiByte. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn here: https://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=324950755&trk=nav_responsive_tab_profile_pic

Also, check out our presentation from the New York convention last April: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkWVD8MJlS0

The two companies we have created are: DigiPay LLC of Delaware & Digitrade International of Hong Kong and have been registered with the State of Delaware and the Hong Kong government accordingly. Each are freely accessible by searching each jurisdictions records.

If you have more questions about the integrity of DigiByte please stop by here and read the full, unedited history of DigiByte for yourself to draw your own conclusions: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=408268.0

In summary if you have not read the original press release that was properly vetted by Coindesk and others, let me re-post it:

Quote
The DigiByte Team is pleased to announce the opening of two new companies and offices representing their full suite of products & services: DigiPay LLC of Santa Monica, California and DigiTrade International Limited of Hong Kong. With a private investment made for USD $250,000, the DigiByte Team now has the financial backing to build software and services around the DigiByte core protocol and bring DigiByte further into the digital and real world markets.

Through a strategic partnership with Tofugear Limited of Hong Kong, the DigiByte Team has now expanded to developing solutions in a global operation, to meet the ever-changing demands of the consumer.  In collaboration with Tofugear Limited’s strategic retail, wholesale and technical development partnerships, the DigiByte core protocol is currently being developed into a range of solutions that will revolutionize the consumer’s daily life.

DigiByte (DGB) is a rapidly growing worldwide professional decentralized payment network.  The DigiByte Development team holds offices in USA and Hong Kong, with community developers spanned globally.  DigiByte allow you to move money more securely over the internet similar to PayPal and Western Union, but with many improvements, including lightning fast transactions with minimal or no fees.  Users send and receive DigiBytes to or from any DigiByte address in the world in a matter of seconds, with no required sign up, registration, or hidden fees.

Please feel free to checkout the Tofugear website here: http://www.tofugear.com/
Their company registration is also on file with the Hong Kong government.

We know who we are, we know what we are working toward and we have been honest and transparent about that for over 11 months now. It makes no sense for us to work full time on this project for a year, make public appearances at several digital currency events, partner with a real world company only to "fake" an announcement.

Thanks again for asking questions and we encourage everyone to do their own research and make their decisions accordingly. We have several irons in the fire & a lot of development work going on. We have some very exciting things in store!

At the end of the day we believe whole heartedly in the potential crypto currencies offer to everyone on the planet. We are working hard each & every day to help bring this potential into the real world. We are all in this together and as such we would like to offer a warm & friendly welcome to everyone who reads this to come join the DigiByte community! We are in this for the long haul!

Cheers! -Jared

One should mine to support the security of the blockchain.  If you are here only for greed please see yourself out.
I agree with you in principle but it costs money to mine. The returns on the energy investment individuals are making is not encouraging.

people didn't mine gold because they wanted a gold-based economy. they did it because gold had value to whoever found it.

right now, a lot of bitcoin miners are mining paycoin at 3-8x the daily income. (down to about 2.5x now). Ive mined more in the last 2 days then I was able to by mining BTC for almost 7 days otherwise. Combined with multiple negative changes in the difficulty recently, I KNOW that my investment in mining hardware is well on the way to a positive return.

I put 3x SP31 units online a little over a week ago, and estimated that they would be profitable if:
a) bitcoin price stays >$300 and difficulty adjustments average <3.5% for the next year
b) bitcoin price gradually increases to >$600 and difficulty adjustments average <5% for the next year
c) bitcoin price gradually increases to >$1000 and difficulty adjustments average <7.5% for the next year

because of the last drop, the coming expected drop, and the paycoin profits, my return in any of the above scenarios is already about 6% higher.
Glad to hear it. Some miners have had to make tough decisions over the last few months.
594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Passing savings to consumers on: December 18, 2014, 01:29:50 PM
Up like a rocket, down like a feather. That's consumer prices. I like it when the govt forces them to reduce prices. They will NEVER do it voluntarily (they are always forced by govt or market pressures).

Here in the UK, the water board went to the govt with a planned rate increase. The govt told them to get lost and FORCED them to reduce their prices. They have no ethics. They have bank accounts and their own expenses they want to cover. Ethics are collateral damage.

I'm not sure if we should but is it normal to score a hole in one with my baseball bat while playing soccer?
Depends, was that before or after the other player took your bishop with his bike?
Wait, what... are we now all going to Sturgis?

Perhaps she was going to St. Ives, but was out of sacks?
Why would she go to St.Ives?
Did she want a bacon sandwich?
Or was she selling chicken for bitcoins?
Or had she just dumped her bitcoins for ChickenCoins?
Did you not see the two poor quacks also taken for the ride of their lives?
Does Mark Karpeles bake a mean apple pie or what?
why should i care, who is mark karplese anyway Huh
Forget that shit, because we have some real serious issues to deal with, like wtf is going on with the new Star Wars movie?!

Which of these two questions should we ignore first?
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE A DECISION???
Well, does that new Star Wars movie have any hapless ducks in it?

Why do 'fat chance' and 'slim chance' mean the same thing?

Doesn't 'fat chance' mean 'no chance', and 'slim chance' mean 'possible'?

Your reply to my post was unbelievably nasty, inhuman and heartless. I want nothing to do with you. Please refrain from commenting on any of my posts or communicating with me in any way. Thank you.

What?

I hope you're of the female gender cause your feelers get hurt a bit too easily.

You made a mistake, you're young, don't give up on Crypto like a sissy and you'll recover and make a lot more back when Bitcoin jumps over $10,000 this next year.

Cheers!

It's not going to jump to $10000. Sorry. But dream if you want to. All I have left now is a KNC Titan which is shit. Part of it breaks on a weekly basis, and KNC are so strapped for cash that they can't RMA their broken hardware. This is my major loss. I just realised that my billion mooncoins are actually only worth a few hundred bucks at the moment.

I actually think crypto is pretty doomed, except perhaps for bitcoin. There are too many alts, too much greed. I got into crypto because I was greedy, and now I'm paying the price. My total losses (mainly by buying a KNC Titan) are in the region of $15000. I've made nothing back.

So I'm sure there are some people out there who get rich in crypto. But be careful how you dream. It's gambling. And if you dream of bitcoin being worth a fortune then great, but it might not. It might be worth a few dollars next year if people decide its not actually that secure, and there are other payment mechanisms which can do the same thing better. It may well go the way of Beenz. I'm just saying.

Anyway. Once my KNC Titan either dies or is unable to pay its electricity bills I'm leaving crypto for good. I've had enough. And I don't have faith in it being secure after today.

Vlad I'm sorry to snap at you but you need to develop a bit of class and sensitivity. Only a complete dick says what you said earlier. I'm not saying you are one, but maybe you just don't think when you write stuff on forums. Try and put yourself in other people's mindsets when you say something. I'm almost certainly older than you, and I've learned not to write all sorts of crap online. I used to do it (not as badly as you just did) but I used to email people in a dickish way because when you write stuff online it doesn't seem the same as talking face to face.

I'm just saying, be careful because you might really hurt someone who is already upset and hurting. And what's the point of that?

I hope your $10000 dream comes true. But personally I think I have more chance of winning Miss teen USA than bitcoin being worth $10000 next year.

Goodnight all.

I totally understand how you feel. Quit crypto if you feel you must (I've considered it myself - it's f**king brutal sometimes), but don't throw anything away. Don't be that guy searching a dump for a usb or hard drive in 5 years time.

Also, I hear Cryptsy is looking into this. You might get a result of some sort.
