New wallet code just released is a sure sign of a coin that is quite alive and headed for a bright future.  Just a few BTC worth of ESP needs to be bough from the walls and this will encourage more people to jump in the ESP pool, as they see price going up...

Indeed, we would have already comitted the changes to the GitHub however there's literally just a couple more things to take care of client side to interact correctly with the rest of the system. (Again this is currently a modular system)

Standalone client could be released even now, as it will auto-disable the features which rely on the full install, but that's no fun.
Actually aiming and so far achieving a smart client. Slowly but surely, after 0807 Espers will really start to shine.

Nice to see novaechange back open with the espers base market going.

Very much so, will have to cautiously throw some walls back up in there.

Thanks for the update! 2 Questions come to my mind:

1) Is the miner in the new update is the version made by Wolf0 that will bring higher hashrate? (GPU)

2) About e-mail messaging that will cost ESP in the future, where the ESP spended will go? To all miner, POR, burned, or other?

TIA and keep up the good work.

Here we go Smiley

1. No it's not wolf's miner yet. It's currently the available sgminer just implemented into the client somewhat and controlled by it. Wolf's is expected in either 0806 or 0807 and will be a much better implementation.

2. The ESP that is charged per email based on character count, attachment count and size and a couple other things will for now be paid to miners as the intent is to dump the charge back into the network as a tx fee would. When PoR is implemented and also begins paying from tx fees it will split the emailing fees been miners and users running PoR. So in short it pays the fees back out to the community. A perpetual cycle to keep the system running smoothly.

Very good questions thank you!

3. Mining functions for CPU + GPU now built into the client, they are not up to par where we'd like them but they function and due to this update already being HORRIBLY delayed we will be launching it with the limitations. (no drop down select for GPU model yet).
(...)
Today I'm personally stuck at my day job for most of the day, afterwords we will run some final tests (not releasing anything buggy) and then we will finally release this long overdue client.
(...)
From now on we will be settings dates of completion and striving to meet them. You can expect a 2 week wait for 0.8.0.6 after the 0.8.0.5 is released soon.
in those two weeks we will polish everything up from the 0.8.0.5 stepping stone and finally be where we want to be.

Seriously guys, I am very thankful for your high ambitions but you have to understand what this means. There is always a trade-off between meeting the schedule, code quality and features. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_management_triangle

We all know that developing good software is hard. Also we are not your clients, we are just investors. This is your project. Please top apologizing for not meeting your own schedule all the time, or for not being able to work on it 24/7. We (at least I do) want you to make a high quality piece of software that kicks ass, and to take whatever time you need for that. Schedule is nice-to-have, but the project itself is way more important. If you see that you are not meeting the schedule, just update it. Get a bit more agile. It really just has informational purposes for the rest of us.

I'll take your post to heart. I personally like treating this like a serious venture. Hence the annoyance at delays.

In the future we'll be more agile as you say

@Everyone -

Last night we tested the new v0.8.0.5 and it flawlessly upgraded from the old 0.8.0.3 and 0.8.0.4 clients which had featured the original and primitive updater.

Currently for the new 0.8.0.5 here is the rundown of what to expect:

1. Selectable auto updates (toggle on or off)
2. manual update check
3. Downgrade feature implemented (please note 0.8.0.5 is the base version for this new system as such once 0.8.0.6 releases you will be able to downgrade to 0.8.0.5)
3. Mining functions for CPU + GPU now built into the client, they are not up to par where we'd like them but they function and due to this update already being HORRIBLY delayed we will be launching it with the limitations. (no drop down select for GPU model yet).
4. Bug reporting will be fully activated in 0.8.0.6.

In otherwords this update will be a major stepping stone. 0.8.0.6 will follow this release closely with the full functionalities of mining and bug reporting along with a port to other OS systems as promised.

The new system also removes three (3) of the old system's programs and consolidates them into a nice 3 program package that are in addition to the Qt client.
This makes for a much cleaner system and should now alleviate those weird "client not launching" on some user's systems.

Sorry for not posting all yesterday I personally was very busy working on this project. Today I'm personally stuck at my day job for most of the day, afterwords we will run some final tests (not releasing anything buggy) and then we will finally release this long overdue client.

From now on we will be settings dates of completion and striving to meet them. You can expect a 2 week wait for 0.8.0.6 after the 0.8.0.5 is released soon.
in those two weeks we will polish everything up from the 0.8.0.5 stepping stone and finally be where we want to be.
Then another two weeks and 0.8.0.7 will be ready with the new themes and selectable client system.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Sorry I have not had a chance to read through all the posts, however from what we did see there has been a lot of tolerance and support and we thank you very much for this. You guys are awesome thank you.

Seems to stabilize around 6-7 litoshi. I think this is a good sign. Of course it will go higher Cheesy But for now, i think it is positive Smiley

Just wait, the new update releases tonight!

Are you doing this on purpose? I had a big smile typing this and you come around and add this on top? My face just split in two from my wide smile. Wink

No. Lol not on purpose, I wish we had this released weeks ago.

Someone will answer the question when will the second distribution?

It will start today.

We will announce it along with the release of the new wallet today.

Hello there!
I remember you (or someone here) said the Nvidia in wallet miner is coming a few weeks later?
Is that true? No Nvidia compatibility with this update?
Sorry if this was asked before, couldn't find it.

Best regards!

We are working with the infamous Wolf0 to bring the best of both worlds to the community.

@Everyone -

Your support is amazing, thank you!!!

In due time, one step at a time. Smiley
Here's the current rough outline of the timeline that we plan to accomplish:

v0.8.0.6 - Planned to include full feature ports to Mac and Linux
v0.8.0.7 - Will include the winning re-theme entries (finally)
v0.8.0.8 - Salvage wallet feature will be overhauled
v0.8.0.9 - To include a "input compactor" to FINALLY alleviate the "tx too large" issue once and for all
v0.8.1.0 - Sidechains/Chain Interfacing (yay) - also a pre-req to the emailing system
v0.8.1.1 - Introduction of the email system (yay)
v0.8.1.2 - Introduction of site-on-blockchain

Future updates will be aimed at improving the newly implemented features that are scheduled to be included by v0.8.1.2

Once the features are streamlined and running right we plan to implement  PoR by v0.8.5.0

by v0.9.0.0 we should finally enter "Beta" and exit the "Alpha" designation. Also at this point the client will feature a Light client which will not require users to sync the entire chain and clog up massive space on their hard drives, although as always we will offer a full version for any fans/community members wanting to run the entire chain to help network integrity.

Here some more information for what is planned.
Maybe could the add to the first page?

THanks for reposting this, we'll go ahead and add it to the first page.

Btw goal is to launch 0.8.0.5 today. Wish us luck.

It would help the coin, if you could set a launch date and stick to it, even if the set date is 2 months from now.
I know the devs are working hard for the release, but the popular perception in crypto space is driven by set deadlines and targets - just my 2 cents

Correct and sadly this update has missed multiple set deadlines.
After this release we'll set realistic dates and make sure to meet them.

@Everyone -

Thank you SO DAMN MUCH FOR YOUR PATIENCE, we noticed many people backing us up and supporting us despite this horrible delay.

We assure you the update is very close to release.

when the miner nvidia will be ready?

Many things are in the works, please bear with us. We will deliver the NVIDIA miner asap.

nice future updates.

Thank you, nothing has taken this long for us to release... but you'll definitely enjoy whats coming.

Currently we have reworked the client control system six ways from Sunday majorly based from community feedback to deliver what users would come to expect.
The mining page still needs to work to act the part.

Problem?

Kind of makes sense now. Would love to see it in action

I support this, this is a nice feature.

Thank you very much for your input! Smiley

@f1lia -

The updater is very carefully created and runs in such a way as to upgrade certain portions and to NEVER touch your dat file or any other key component that could break anything. The new system is also very user friendly and informative. No more guessing ever. It will make sure you just have a great experience and nothing else.

Sorry guys for taking so damn long on all of this, We are polishing it up. Just a lot of small things that will make a big difference when it's released.
Call us perfectionists. Not laggers. haha Cheesy

Don't see why not. It's being mined by quite a few people and has ~3 years before 60% is mined out.
3 years including future PoR mining?
Do we know how thins POR mining going to work?

We explained it before but it is QUITE a few pages back.

Pretty much it's very similiar to PoS however it doesn't rely on a difficulty or anything of that sort.
Blocks will be generated as long as there are two client connected to each other at a set interval (20 seconds as specs indicate)

PoR will then distribute to EVERY online client depending on connection count and be skewed by user's ballance that they hold in their client (to a point so as not to abuse the system and cause the same issues as PoS)

So the more connections the more coins you will receive, the more ballance you hold it will act as a "multiplier" in a way.
Connection cap will be set to what the nodes on the network see so you cannot abuse the system. Kinda make sense?
The goal is that PoR will run the chain without the need for miners and pay the TX fees and Fees that users put in from using the emailing system and other features.

Quick vote: Who here would like a seamless upgrade from the old Auto Updating client to the new one? Or would you all be okay with simply uninstalling the old client and installing the new one?

We ask this as the latter would make for a faster release, but old clients would no longer receive updates, which defeats the purpose regardless of their version.

Just let us know. This is a big jump in functionality so we wanted to feel the community out on this one.

I suggest not to waste your time on the Auto update, troubleshoot it etc... Smiley let us do some work Cheesy
Cheers

There is no need for an auto-updating client for now even though it's a nice feature. Suggesting the same as previous user, don't waste time on it.

-.- guys... that wasn't the question lol. The auto updater will still be in this update without question (you can turn it off via a checkbox)
The question was if the client should be able to seamlessly upgrade from the old 0.8.0.4 version as 0.8.0.5 is SIGNIFICANTLY overhauled and the auto-updater has turned into a full on client management system. Which we've already found a way to make the upgrade seamless so the question is kinda null and void.

Though your input is very useful as we like to know what the community thinks so we thank you very much for sharing your input.

No, sorry let me elaborate.

PoW = 3 years from launch until mining via PoW stops which is @ 60% of total coin count.
PoR = Sometime within the PoW phase PoR will launch, it will take the coin the rest of the way (40% PoR)

together they will be 100% of the distrobution.

PoR will then act like PoS and generate blocks without the need for mining.

Btw status update on 0.8.0.5 - Overhauling the feature implementation somewhat, too many clunky looking "mini" programs, making it just 3 programs that help the client out. Should also correct much of the "client not launching" issues that some people experience.

Patiently waiting for the latest copy of the Espers Wallet.

I know you and everyone else are, we have been diligently working on it and found a few different ways to improve things that would make the release all that much better. Stand by, we will get this done.

Can I still mine this?

Don't see why not. It's being mined by quite a few people and has ~3 years before 60% is mined out.

I don't mind using the installer version to use all features.
Does the installer allow you to choose installation path? I like to have all my wallets in the same place

Currently the installer still chooses the path for you which is: "C:\Users\YOURUSERPROFILE\AppData\Roaming\CryptoCoderz\ESP-Client"
Though you bring up a VERY good point and we will make sure that 0.8.0.6 allows you to select the path and adapts from there.
Sadly we couldn't think of everything this time around.

Anyone capable of running cryptocoin wallets should have no problem managing manual installation of them.

Auto-update is a nice "show-off" feature but IMO ultimately pointless.

I myself at least prefer manual upgrades

Yes, my opinion too.

I agree with your opinion on this topic! Keep on developing new features, that's not a big deal now for me!

Awesome then it makes life a lot easier for us.

However, any comment on using an installer?
We know some people will have reservations and we're just getting a feel for everything

any good mac miner for this?

Personally, not that I know of besides the built in CPU miner which is no longer very viable.

Maybe the installer version can be easier used by people that are new to crypto´s?
This is the one with the auto-update etc.?

So, just install and everthing is fine? : )

Yup all you'd need to do is (if you already have the auto-updater version currently installed from 0.8.0.4 you'd uninstall it and install the new one) install the new client via the full or online installer that will be released soon and you're good to go.
Initially the client will be set to auto-update which you can turn off by simply accessing the client control system tab and deselecting it as an option.
