Patiently waiting for the latest copy of the Espers Wallet.

I know you and everyone else are, we have been diligently working on it and found a few different ways to improve things that would make the release all that much better. Stand by, we will get this done.

Can I still mine this?

Don't see why not. It's being mined by quite a few people and has ~3 years before 60% is mined out.

No, sorry let me elaborate.

PoW = 3 years from launch until mining via PoW stops which is @ 60% of total coin count.
PoR = Sometime within the PoW phase PoR will launch, it will take the coin the rest of the way (40% PoR)

together they will be 100% of the distrobution.

PoR will then act like PoS and generate blocks without the need for mining.

Btw status update on 0.8.0.5 - Overhauling the feature implementation somewhat, too many clunky looking "mini" programs, making it just 3 programs that help the client out. Should also correct much of the "client not launching" issues that some people experience.

Quick vote: Who here would like a seamless upgrade from the old Auto Updating client to the new one? Or would you all be okay with simply uninstalling the old client and installing the new one?

We ask this as the latter would make for a faster release, but old clients would no longer receive updates, which defeats the purpose regardless of their version.

Just let us know. This is a big jump in functionality so we wanted to feel the community out on this one.

I suggest not to waste your time on the Auto update, troubleshoot it etc... Smiley let us do some work Cheesy
Cheers

There is no need for an auto-updating client for now even though it's a nice feature. Suggesting the same as previous user, don't waste time on it.

Do we know how thins POR mining going to work?

We explained it before but it is QUITE a few pages back.

Pretty much it's very similiar to PoS however it doesn't rely on a difficulty or anything of that sort.
Blocks will be generated as long as there are two client connected to each other at a set interval (20 seconds as specs indicate)

PoR will then distribute to EVERY online client depending on connection count and be skewed by user's ballance that they hold in their client (to a point so as not to abuse the system and cause the same issues as PoS)

So the more connections the more coins you will receive, the more ballance you hold it will act as a "multiplier" in a way.
Connection cap will be set to what the nodes on the network see so you cannot abuse the system. Kinda make sense?
The goal is that PoR will run the chain without the need for miners and pay the TX fees and Fees that users put in from using the emailing system and other features.

-.- guys... that wasn't the question lol. The auto updater will still be in this update without question (you can turn it off via a checkbox)
The question was if the client should be able to seamlessly upgrade from the old 0.8.0.4 version as 0.8.0.5 is SIGNIFICANTLY overhauled and the auto-updater has turned into a full on client management system. Which we've already found a way to make the upgrade seamless so the question is kinda null and void.

Though your input is very useful as we like to know what the community thinks so we thank you very much for sharing your input.

@f1lia -

The updater is very carefully created and runs in such a way as to upgrade certain portions and to NEVER touch your dat file or any other key component that could break anything. The new system is also very user friendly and informative. No more guessing ever. It will make sure you just have a great experience and nothing else.

Sorry guys for taking so damn long on all of this, We are polishing it up. Just a lot of small things that will make a big difference when it's released.
Call us perfectionists. Not laggers. haha Cheesy

Don't see why not. It's being mined by quite a few people and has ~3 years before 60% is mined out.
3 years including future PoR mining?

-.- guys... that wasn't the question lol.

Kind of makes sense now. Would love to see it in action

It's not a staking wallet.. They are talking about POR. If you read 8 posts before yours you might understand more about it.

Problem?

In due time, one step at a time. Smiley
Here's the current rough outline of the timeline that we plan to accomplish:

v0.8.0.6 - Planned to include full feature ports to Mac and Linux
v0.8.0.7 - Will include the winning re-theme entries (finally)
v0.8.0.8 - Salvage wallet feature will be overhauled
v0.8.0.9 - To include a "input compactor" to FINALLY alleviate the "tx too large" issue once and for all
v0.8.1.0 - Sidechains/Chain Interfacing (yay) - also a pre-req to the emailing system
v0.8.1.1 - Introduction of the email system (yay)
v0.8.1.2 - Introduction of site-on-blockchain

Future updates will be aimed at improving the newly implemented features that are scheduled to be included by v0.8.1.2

Once the features are streamlined and running right we plan to implement  PoR by v0.8.5.0

by v0.9.0.0 we should finally enter "Beta" and exit the "Alpha" designation. Also at this point the client will feature a Light client which will not require users to sync the entire chain and clog up massive space on their hard drives, although as always we will offer a full version for any fans/community members wanting to run the entire chain to help network integrity.

"The question was if the client should be able to seamlessly upgrade from the old 0.8.0.4 version as 0.8.0.5 is SIGNIFICANTLY overhauled and the auto-updater has turned into a full on client management system.
