I am not a techie at all and I am wanting to know if this is open source.

Do the people that have downloaded it know that there are no malware or trojans in it that could cause harm.

I'm sure there isn't I just wouldn't know how to check. Smiley
582  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 1oz Bronze Bitcoins for Sale (75% copper) on: August 21, 2013, 01:02:00 PM

583  Bitcoin / Project Development / Bitcoin Shop Website Builder on: August 21, 2013, 12:45:00 PM
Hi

I have got a friend building a website for me now but am looking at other options too.

Are there any website packages where you get a template and can modify it as you need?

I would need to accept Bitcoin as well as card payments. I am not sure about bank transfers and paypal seems loaded with potential problems.

I will be selling Bitcoins in digital and physical form.

I will also be selling different Bitcoin related merchandise.

Any help on this will be appreciated. Thanks
584  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Instawallet claim process on: August 21, 2013, 07:39:47 AM
Ok, a response is a good start.

Firstly and above all, actually declaring how many BTC I received is pretty unprofessional. I can't believe for a second that you actually thought i wouldn't mind about that. Angry Please edit your post. (If a mod can do it that would be great)

Secondly, I have tried emailing, and PMing you and your team. It's not just you so don't get all defensive about it it's just that you popped up on here. I actually received an email from Richard Caetano on the 13th August, (you, Davout & Grandval were all copied in), stating that this wallet had been confirmed as emptied out by the hacker. I replied immediately, (and then again after a week or so when i received no response), but still no reply. I did consider ringing you but thought that might be a little inappropriate.

Now you are suggesting that you have no proof I deposited the money. How about all the same proof that i used to prove all the other wallets that I held with you were mine. Nothing was different with any of them. If i proved that the others were mine (which i did as you returned the funds), then i proved that was mine also. Now if you have agreed that the hacker cleared my wallet it's all very simple.

My suggestion is that if there are funds left over from the payout process, (which i am sure there are based on the fact that I am sure I am not the only one who lost a URL during their time using instawallet), you should repay me. Asking me for more cryptographic proof now is a blatantly obvious way of trying to make it impossible for me to get what is rightfully mine.

Please enjoy your 'vacation' but if you or your team feel like responding that would be ideal

UPDATE

The fifth payout batch was sent today. Tx ID is

'ab6bcf2f9cb4019fae464a9c5adc741403deb163faae93c12272979ea99dca6a'.

Next payout date is Friday, August 30.

Hi Pierre

Just wondered how you can post that on here without responding to the previous messages and questions aimed at you?

I (and many others) have asked a direct question to you and your team, to not answer it and just ignore it is a little rude.  Undecided

What's the current stance on these in the UK?

Wow. Someone is pissed. Smiley

In all seriousness though i bought early to get a nice low number and it seems that i could have been a little lower too. Sad No issue i suppose but you never know with these things

Really enjoyed seeing that. A bit rough around the edges sure, but it shows how easy BTC is to accept for certain businesses. Great stuff
589  Bitcoin / Meetups / Beers and bitcoins at the Pembury Tavern, London. Monday 19th August on: August 18, 2013, 10:28:42 AM
Just wondered if anyone from here is going. It's been organised through meetup.com but not seen it on here.

I'm not the organiser or involved at all but interested to meet up with some forum faces. Smiley
590  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Instawallet claim process on: August 16, 2013, 09:42:46 AM
I have now received confirmation that the last wallet I am yet to receive was one of the wallets emptied by the hacker/hackers before the site went offline.

I have tried to reply to the email twice now to see what can be done about this but have had no response.

The way i see it is if there are any funds left over from lost/forgotten wallets these should go towards cases like mine. Is this something you are considering?

Thanks
591  Economy / Collectibles / Re: CASASCIUS PHYSICAL BITCOIN - In Stock Now! (pic) on: August 14, 2013, 10:47:27 PM
Maybe a n00b question, but I received 2 x 1BTC coins today from a respectable dealer and when I type the firstbits on blockchain.org, I get:
Quote
Firstbits not found
How is that possible? With my 3 previous coins from Casascius (same dealer) I didn't had that problem. Just type in the code on the back and you can verify the BTC ammount...

Any help?

The code on the back is not always the first bits.

Try searching for the code on here.

Ordered 1 coin. Might order more when you come back with your postage costs. Smiley

I presume this will be automatic when you add a UK option but i had to make up a zip code as a UK postal code wasn't valid. I put it after the State.

Look forward to receiving it. Smiley

Websites not loading for me. Sad

Hmmm... How about now?

Works fine now. Smiley

There doesn't seem to be an option for postage to the UK.  Undecided

Also, would you do a discount for large orders?

I'm up for making as many connections as possible so I will try to make it.

Have you not considered somewhere a little more central in London though. Might make it easier for most people.

Whatever happens I'm interested and will look at those dates. Good luck.

I will update on that. Smiley
598  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Motley Fool: Stay away from Bitcoin on: August 13, 2013, 08:33:39 AM
Motley Fool has terrible advice and articles. Plus they want people to stay focused on the stocks they make money off, not bitcoins.

Also, the number 1 and number 2 stocks in their million dollar portfolio (Starbucks and LinkedIn) have absolutely crushed it so far in 2013 with combined returns of about 40 or 50%.

That being said they are a stocks service based on buying and holding long term and bitcoin is way outside of their comfort range. I doubt they know much at all but I am sure there are a couple of them that have bought a small amount out of interest and I imagine more than a few are keeping a close eye on things.

I would say bitcoin has absoulutely crushed it in 2013 with a gain of about 785%.   Wink

Bitcoin crushes everything. Wink
599  Economy / Services / Re: ***FREE*** 7 character or under Vanity Address (split key) on: August 12, 2013, 12:47:42 PM
I got your part if the private key and tries to use bitaddress to put it back with mine but not sure whether I should use add or multiply. I used add and the address doesn't seek to have been made valid.

Should I go with multiply or start over?
