Follow the instructions here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

PM that information to either Theymos/Cyrus.
5962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Recover Bitcoin Address from Passphrase on: December 17, 2017, 03:54:55 PM
Unless, you can recover the wallet.dat, then the password is useless and you've lost your Bitcoin. You could potentially recover the wallet.dat using a few recovery programs, but since it's been a long time and you've been writing to the hard drive since it's very unlikely that you'll find anything salvageable.

Of course, that's assuming by "passphrase" you mean the password, and not the private key. If you have the private key you can recover the address which contains the Bitcoin.
5963  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Help lost my elctrum wallet details (6 digit password) Please help on: December 17, 2017, 12:50:30 PM
I have sets of numbers that i normally use. i have tried them all and none of the work. :-)

If that's the case, then you've likely made a typo and it should be relatively easy to find it. Obviously, this is based on how accurate the information you have on the wallet. But, if you have used a combination of digits for passwords before you'll be able to either look for a typo or identify patterns that you use in your passwords.

I would suggest trying out btcrecover, but if you can't get that to work then you should contact: https://walletrecoveryservices.com/
5964  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Help lost my elctrum wallet details (6 digit password) Please help on: December 17, 2017, 12:46:42 PM
Do you know any of  the password at all? 6 digits isn't too bad. If the password only consists of digits and not letters/special characters, then it might be possible to brute force it. But, if you know that parts of the password then it will shorten the time to guess the password.

You can use the program btcrecover, Electrum wallets are supported. It has a tutorial which you can follow step by step to try and get the password:

5965  Other / Meta / Re: My account has been banned. Why? Please, help on: December 17, 2017, 11:09:04 AM
I'm really sorry. I've never posted my address and I've never posted when the comment was not requested. I've learned. I'll think one thousand of times before posting and you have your reason. But honestly I'd feel bad if it's a permanent ban, I don't think to deserve it. I always followed all the community rules, never had double accounts or spammed and so on. My apologies.

You have spammed. Here's just a few examples:

A very super job!

The list goes on, most of your posts consist of these types of messages. These types of message do not contribute to the discussion or provide any relevant information. It's purely spam and hundreds of accounts a day are doing the same.
5966  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Passcode doesn't work, yet I'm 100% its correct on: December 16, 2017, 11:32:41 PM
If both wallets had the same password and they've both started to reject the password at the same time
Not the same password for both, but the same structure for both. The chances of mistyping both are extremely low considering how careful I was.

What is the possibility the .dat file is merely corrupt and no password will be accepted?

I guess it could be possible. Normally when dealing with corrupted wallets, the command --salvagewallet cant be used, but this requires the wallet to be unlocked to be used. Pywallet may be able to discover if the wallet is corrupted or not, but I doubt it due to not having access to the wallet contents. It's more plausible that it's an issue with the password rather than the wallet being corrupted.

Maybe when entering the password you had NUM lock on, or a different input keyboard, German for example. This begs the question of; Since you have entered the password for the first time, have you logged in since to the wallet?

If both wallets had the same password and they've both started to reject the password at the same time, then it's almost certain that you have either mistyped the password or your using a different password for the wallet than you did when you created/encrypted it.

You can use btcrecover to try and recover your password, it's an open source project which is suitable for cracking passwords when you know the majority of it. It's got built in functions for typos.
5968  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can you guys recommend a legit acceleration service? on: December 16, 2017, 04:32:29 PM
Thank you guys so much, antpools' looks pretty promising, viaBTC is congested way too often these days

All of these services are congested. Too many people are either trying to get away with fees completely and get free services to accelerate it or are making a mistake inputting their fee. I imagine all of these services will eventually convert to pay only, or offer to do a limited amount each day.

There's also loads of people exploiting these free websites over in the service section in order to gain trust or Bitcoin.
5969  Economy / Gambling / Re: Looking for serious investors! on: December 15, 2017, 02:48:34 PM
I understand it is pretty vague... but I am unable to give the details to just anyone. The idea is new and i don’t want someone with the resources to just come along and steal it.

I understand your concerns, but if you are willing to give up the information in a personal message then those people will just message you. You aren't going to find any investors who will invest blindly into your project. If it is an original idea, then after you have released it there will be dozens of different copies out within a few weeks, which one is more successful depends on who does it better and not the original person who came up with the idea.

Please state what sort of investment you are expecting from each member, and what their other duties will be.
5970  Other / Meta / Re: Member Account Hacked on: December 15, 2017, 12:17:43 PM
In 2014 I used NXT and NEM-wallet, but I cann't use it for proof because I don't use it for a long time and don't keep it.

The date Nov. 2017 is proof because you can see that password changed today for slimboard account and today I locked it.

Send the information over to theymos/cyrus and they'll have to decide whether the information you have presented will be sufficient enough to recover the account. Follow this post here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

Be patient though, as recovering accounts doesn't seem to be a high priority and they are currently backlogged. It could take several months to get a response or a matter of days. Depends on the case.

Take a look at his website and follow his instructions exactly if you want to get prioritized and not thrown at the bottom of the list. He's issued a statement that he's currently overloaded due to all the requests he's receiving due to the recent price surge.
5972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Please HELP with a stuck transaction on: December 15, 2017, 09:48:32 AM
It's now been confirmed. If in the future you find yourself in this position you can accelerate it yourself on ViaBTC: https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/

It's free. (I believe there's a minimum fee that needs to be sent for them to accelerate it)
5973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help me recover bitcoin wallet, payment 10BTC on: December 15, 2017, 09:38:37 AM
You can always install btcrecover and attempt to find the password yourself. It's a free open source project. It all depends on how accurate you are with your information, and how much you know of the password.

If you believe there's only a typo or you are missing a few characters then it should be somewhat solvable using different techniques on btcrecover. If you don't know the password and have no idea what it could be then it's going to be close to impossible if the password isn't weak.

You can test directly against the wallet.dat file that you have, or if anyone else helps you then you can extract the mkey and give them that to avoid them having access to your wallet if they guess the password.

btcrecover: https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover
It's just that the purse is seven years old and I've forgotten everything, so I'm looking for a professional who can help.

Well, it you used a weak password then it may be possible to brute force it. But, if you haven't then you've likely lost access. You should put yourself in the situation when you first made the wallet to see if this reminds you of anything.

You could contact a few people who can attempt to crack it for you, and provide them with other passwords which you have used in the past to identify the patterns you use and go from there.

5975  Economy / Reputation / Re: Alt accounts potentially bumping ICOs on: December 14, 2017, 08:41:29 AM
Way more - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2474348.0

Edit - they might be farming, but I am 100 percent sure that they are bumping icos.

The 3 accounts that I linked have been banned. I reported a lot of their reports and received a message that they have now been banned and they were indeed connected. I'll continue looking out for other accounts.

I've read that thread you posted before, and was half debating whether to post my evidence in there but felt I had enough to say to justify it's own thread. I'll take a closer look on the users that you've posted though.

Locking this thread as the offenders have been dealt with.
5976  Economy / Reputation / Alt accounts potentially bumping ICOs on: December 14, 2017, 01:13:10 AM
So I've just stumbled upon three users which I would like to take a closer look at and have some of the communities feedback on. I'm under the assumption that all of these accounts are connected, and have been found to be communicating in the same topics and quoting each other. I want to take a closer look at the accounts to see if they are bumping ICOs or farming their accounts up.

I believe I've pretty much confirmed they are having artificial conversations with themselves to rank up their accounts. They regularly post in the same thread one after another saying roughly the same thing which makes me believe they are farming their accounts rather than bumping the threads intentionally.

Users in question:
2970566: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=332257 | Date registered: May 17, 2014, 01:52:09 PM
ghuang168: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=332127 | Date registered: May 17, 2014, 07:06:04 AM
jimhuang: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=329016 | Date registered: May 11, 2014, 04:52:59 AM

Let's not discuss their posts, as I will be reporting quite a lot of them. But, look at "2970566" & "ghuang168" specifically and the first user in question quotes the second. Further down in the post history he quotes the same user again in a different thread.

Then we see "jimhuang" quoting "2970566" in his post history too.

Here's an archive of their post history (first page) as a lot of those messages will be deleted:
2970566: https://archive.is/eebJc
ghuang168: https://archive.is/Gn21V
jimhuang: https://archive.is/m0GGJ

I'm pretty confident that all these accounts are linked, as they have a very similar post history and the only reason I noticed this is that they all posted in the same thread one after another and have very similar posts and the exact same activity. Two of them have the exact same date registered and the other member is only a couple days after. All three accounts have a post gap from 2014>2017 too.

Because of the consecutive posts that they posted I originally thought these users may of been bumping the thread intentionally, but upon further inspection they may not be doing this as the sole purpose, but farming their accounts up. But, at the same time they are still bumping these threads up.

Now, I'll submit this to the alt tracking page who someone else can if they want, but I'll take a look at whether they are bumping ICOs or if they are just farming their accounts up. They are in the same campaign, but haven't posted the same address when applying.

I wanted to put this information up now, to archive the posts because a lot of those posts they have made are against the rules and will be deleted shortly. (plus I'll be heading off shortly)

I'll bite. Jot me down.
5978  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Can't login to Blockchain.info on: December 12, 2017, 04:19:19 PM
It's next to impossible to brute force the seed as the seed list that blockchain.info pulls from is huge, and requires 12 words. I'm not saying it is impossible, but it might as well be. I would suggest using btcrecover and trying the combination of the numbers you thought were the password and any typos which could of been made.

I very much doubt that the app update caused any issues with the wallet. If you suspect this you can contact them via their support. But, it's likely that you've just mistyped the password or have forgotten it. Let us know how you get on with btcrecover and whether your search has been exhausted or not. Depending on the length of the password, it might not take very long to find it if it's just numbers.

In the future, always keep a backup of both the seed and the private keys.
5979  Other / Meta / Re: What are we going to do about the Shitposters? on: December 10, 2017, 11:15:05 AM
Question for Mods: does Bitcointalk keep track of the number of deleted posts per user? Otherwise it will be impossible to remember who is a repeat offender.

Even if they don't they only have to look at the post history of the account. Spammers would of made several of the type of posts that's been reported and they can make their decision based on that. Especially, over at the altcoin section, these "good luck" posts and misspelled replies like "good projet" are posted several times by the same user.

I count more than a 1000 successive Autobans, and a total of 6156 on that page. I assume it's a bot banning them, but I'm curious to know how this works.
Judging by Badbears response here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=985030.0
I don't think all of them are automatic bans.
5980  Other / Meta / Re: What are we going to do about the Shitposters? on: December 10, 2017, 01:50:08 AM
If they continue they'll get banned even if it takes a few reports.

In my experience this simply isn't true. There are users I have reported for literally years and still they keep on breaking the rules.

I guess it depends on what they are being reported for. But, if they are being reported for spam for example then mentioned in the report field that they have made several of these kinds of posts in various different threads. The moderator dealing with the report can then verify this for themselves which may result in a ban if they agree that the user isn't learning and just continues to spam.

I've included this message for a few people whilst reporting and normally watch the modlog for their user ID.
