61  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: bitcoin affecting altcoins on: November 14, 2023, 03:07:33 PM
Overtime i see that whenever there is a dip in the price of bitcoin, other altcoins tends to follow suit by also dropping in their prices and whenever there is an increase in the price of bitcoin, other coin as well increase in their value. Does it mean that other altcoins cannot be dependent on their own? Like must the activities of bitcoin affect the alternate coins at all time? I really want to understand why alternate coins like BNB, ETH, TWT, MATIC,  XRP,  LTC, DOT, ADA, SOL AVAX and so many other alternate cryptocurrencies are always affected whenever there is a change in the price of bitcoin like can't they be dependent on there own? as they are all cryptocurrencies despite the fact that bitcoin is more volatile than the rest of the cryptocurrencies.

This exact behaviour has been there for ages so its not a new thing to those who is in this atmosphere for a long time, bitcoin is not volatile as you think it is the only siade bitcoin wins is that it has volume than alts, looking around you will see alts that are volatile like crazy.

63  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Supreme Court Justices a Shame or Praise on: October 26, 2023, 10:22:06 PM

It is no longer news that The Supreme Court of Nigeria has set Monday 23rd October 2023 for the hearing of the presidential Election cases. The question is will the Supreme court uphold justice and can the common man in Nigeria still trust the Judicial system of Nigeria?

The judicial system of Nigeria has experience a lot of Judicial summersaulting where we have one constitution, similar cases but different judgement in different state.

While I still ponder on so many things the Supreme Court Justices that will hear the presidential election appeal Include;

1. Musa Dattijo Mohammed,

2. Uwani Musa Abba Aji,

3. Lawal M Garba,

4. Helen M. Ogunwumiju,

5. I.N. Saulawa,

6. Tijjani Abubakar

7. Emmanuel Agim.

The first Judge will retire on 27th October! will they deliver judgement on monday? and fix a date to give their written judgement?
We wait to See.

For the whole history of elections ehh na this one I see say e tigh Wrapper, me still dey imagine how this whole thing wan end because like this even as I been dey small pikin this kind story them never Yan me before. Make we just dey see sha.

65  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin gives hope. on: October 25, 2023, 02:57:04 AM
Some of us dun really experience wetin e mean to dey poor and hopeless, na why we nor dey carry bitcoin play because e dey give us hope say tomorrow go better. Before some of us wey come from really poor background  dey always reason how tomorrow go better because we know say our family dey depend on us and we nor get any serious inheritance wey dem leave for us, and our families even suffer to carry us pass school, money nor even dey for dem to give us to start business, life hard been hard well well and we nor get hope on how tomorrow go be because we know say e nor easy to just get investment wey fit give person money tomorrow for this our country wey things hard, and oportunity nor dey avaialable for everyone.

Bitcoin changed everything ooo, Bitcoin give us hope say tomorrow fit better, bitcoin give us opportunity to fit dey invest the small small money we dey get into bitcoin to fit make more tomorrow. Bitcoin give us hope for this our tight country.

Wetin you think? Without investment opportunity for bitcoins, how e for be?

Me i will just say ehh the whole cryptocurrency generation as we take start ni give hope pass brother, i come dey imagine say crypto no dey and we come fall for this TINIBU hand like this this country NAIJA for become state of emergency. i just dey so thankful and grateful for life say i dey witnessed this crypto generation.
66  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you still advised more buy and store? on: October 25, 2023, 02:51:45 AM
I was thinking new kind of plan to buy bitcoin every month from my salary immediately my company paids me but I still have other responsibilities to carry with family so am skeptical about it especially now that the price has no direction. If can afford storing every month in a long run I may realizes half of bitcoin unit and that's a big achievement to buy but to you is funny because you have enough of it. So advise me on what to do! Should I hold on because of the instabilities in price? Or I should buy and store? Over to you

With some lessons learnt in the past or will i say as we continued with the journey of crypto market, and the whole picture behind it, I won't advise any nope to buy any coin or asset to store, though individuals varies whenit comes to financial standard, but for a noob who is just coming into the crypto space with no ideas yet shouldn't take buy to store as a first step.
67  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is more profitable trading ETH/USD or ETH/BTC on: October 25, 2023, 02:47:18 AM
Can you give me insight, do you think trading via ETH/BTC is more profitable than ETH/USD? Please give me an advice.

For me i go with trading ETH/USD since one is a coin and the other is fiat, in which it is balance in a way if eth in general is dropping USD is stable, as for ETH/BTC is risky in the sense if eth is dropping and btc is dropping as well you will be in a very big mess.
68  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Ghana preparing to supply Nigeria electricity. on: October 24, 2023, 06:57:41 PM

I came across this update on one of the online dailies and it baffles me a lot. I remembered that Nigeria supplies Ghana electricity and I could remember vividly clear that there was a period Ghana celebrated one week constant electricity power supply  without interruption while depending on Nigeria as her supplier but the reverse is the case here in Nigeria. Ghana as a nation are developing their power sector rapidly while still depending on Nigeria and up to the point of possibly becoming a supplier to Nigeria as soon as they are done with the final stage of development of their power sector.

This information was disclosed while they were having a Summit at Lagos on Nigeria Energy Leadership Summit as graced by Mr. Hanson Monney, the Head of the Generation and Transmission Unit at the Ghanaian Ministry of Energy.
Quote
“So, we are working on all these things to make sure that the power system of Ghana continues to be as good as it is or even better, and then, maybe, we can be exporting more to our big brothers in Nigeria when the grid is finally settled,”

This has made me to have  a thought over this and I was wondering what is really the cause of our electricity gridlock and  epileptic power supply here in Nigeria. Finance I think is not the cause of our power shortage here in Nigeria as our government allocates huge fund to the power sector, Policies are made to help sustain power supply and also payment of electricity tariff which is not favorable to consumers as they complain lack of power supply and hence some do not bother complying with payment and if they do pay, they make part payment.

Quote
Monney stressed the significance of lowering electricity prices, particularly for enterprises, since high electricity bills are a major issue in Ghana. “We saw that in Ghana historically. These industries have been subsidizing the residential sector, and it should be the other way around. Industries should remain viable so that businesses can thrive,”

Would Nigeria be able to Implement such policies as Ghana did to sustain and encourage her citizens to pay their electricity tariff. What do you really think is the major cause of power failure here in Nigeria despite the huge funds going into the power sector coupled with the fact that Nigeria is rich in mineral deposit which could have helped well enough to cushion the lapses in our  power sector.

As i see this post i come dey reason all the talk them been dey tell us when we small for current affairs say na NAIJA dey give GHANA light, so e mean say all those times na brainwash or what because me no dey even understand this country on many things wey them never clear us.

70  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why we too de abuse moments of celebration? on: October 23, 2023, 08:06:53 PM
When we experience better thing, e de make sense to celebrate am but most time d manner most people de use celebrate am no de too make sense like that.

Because say your wife born pikin, you go Buy drinks, invite people and una go drink to serious highness come start to misbehave. Some go even fight and wound themselves In the process.

Some go write there final exams for school, all in the name of celebration de go over speed there cars come course accident and some of them go die in the process.

E get one valentine period for my community when boys carry there banies go party for the valentine celebration. before you know, dem don drink enter highness levels begin fight themselves with machetes and before that day finish, wetin start as celebration don turn full blown community war.

The instances plenty concerning how we de take abuse moments of celebration but I just wan yarn us say as we de in the spirit of celebration, make we no use am wonjor ourselves. It is not out of place to celebrate, especially when the event is a remarkable one in our lives but it's best we moderate it so our celebration doesn't turn out to sorrows in the end.

As the year de draw to a close, make we celebrate and in the same spirit, make we do am responsibly. I trowe salute give una.

This whole thing dey get one kind spirit wey dey back am up if you check very well and e no dey always be on clear eyes, like me too go dey just seat and dey reason am deep down, and some people with different mouth, ehh go be like, if things like that no happen the occasion or what ever them dey celebrate no dey legit. like ehh most such mood take place for it to be legit?
71  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotions dealing on: October 23, 2023, 08:00:14 PM
Emotions is a weapon used against traders causing them to move out of a trade untimely which may eventually cost them loss.

How to avoid emotions:
  • set up  a TP(take profit) and SL(stop loss) for your trades
  • Stay away from the particular trade
  • Get in some activity that will keep you busy
  • Do your hubby activities at that moment
  • set up hours interval to check your trade
  • watch tvs and Go for walk Smiley

Note:Some of these might not be applicable if you are into scalping.

This made me to remember a friend we both trade together yeah, but some where along the line the dude started doing different things like clearing his watch list saying he basically wanna be watching just GBPUSD AND GOLD, like this got me laughing like menhn what kind of sudden change is that. meanwhile me that goes looking at random pairs i turned out to see more trading opportunities in the market than him.

74  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading on your own vs social trading and copy trading on: October 21, 2023, 07:30:29 PM
I think that by trading on my own I am just overtrading...I am looking for options to get trading ideas/trading signals etc to analyze those ideas and select only the best ones.
What options does one have to view trading ideas/signals from other professional traders?

TRADING on your own doesnt mean you are O.V.E.R trading buddy, if you have gotten the skills and knowledge to trade is just for you to abide to some principles and discipline, And get to see the results as you progress on. so please dont let anyone buy you the IDEA that you are over trading as you trade alone.
75  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Na Book dey kill black man on: October 21, 2023, 07:06:17 PM

76  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Is Nigeria's movie industry only favouring the ladies? on: October 20, 2023, 05:18:28 PM
....our prayers are with Mr IBU in this trying time and we pray for quick recovery........
My people,  I know by now most of us for don watch or read waiten is happening in the Nigeria movie industry,  the two trending stories coming up from that industry in the last two week is that of the young 20+ actress who splashed millions of naira in buying a house for herself within few year/ month into the acting business.

Another one comes to be that of John Okafor who has been a comic actor for over 20 years,  his own na sickness,  one of his legs 🦵 may be amputated if not flown ✈️  abroad for urgent medical attention,  he has carried to the public with his personal account flying all around social media seeking for donations,  now goes how much he need,  just 7 million naira to fly out for medical treatment.

So this thing come made me the wonder say how can a very popular actor who have put smiles on people's face for over 20 year can afford to foot his travelling and treatment arrangement for such a small amount of 7 million, which will result in a public donation.

And a young girl who is bearly known for getting such an amount of money that runs into hundreds of millions within a short period to splash on such a home for herself,  and her case is one among many of her colleagues who have bought SUV cars worth millions in the same movies industry.

So the thing comes that makes me wonder what really happens, is why the ladies make amm for that industry and the men are poor or even below average,  because most of the deaths of actors that we have seen are mostly as a result of proper financial care at some point,   the thing comes to the look like say the more you look the less you see for Nigeria movie industry.

Me still dey wonder oh say all the 20 years na waste or what because I no understand again as him popular reach so ehh... As in him no get money again reach 7 million or is it that this movie industry na scam for the side of the gentleman then the ladies are the main ones who make it like me still dey think am oh to be frank.
77  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Some red flag to aviod in p2p transaction on: October 20, 2023, 05:50:11 AM

79  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Smart not Hardwork on: October 18, 2023, 06:18:51 PM
Many person has several patterns and ween to several areas at which favors them where else becomes the other way round for another.

Many believes hardwork drives one into light but it can be contradicting as hell cos in this present era it becomes more of being smart than hardwork.
Doing more of hard work than working smart will get you to a certain level of achievement where applying more knowledge and critical skills would amount to greater achievements

We all set goals and apply certain strategies to get there, can be of the same goal but different strategies. The smartest gets better result than the one who only believes in his ability, knowing is not enough but smartness in applying what is known is needed for better achievement.
In doing Bitcoin we should be smart enough to study the market and manage speculations
There are few factors that makes a person smart, considering:

  • Inquisitiveness : Having this mindset of wanting and willing to learn is one attribute to being smart, a smart person never sees things as common, always curious to learn. They say "Learning never ends", and  "No acquired Knowledge is a waste"
  • Sensitive to better ideas : There is, well a need to be sensitive. When in the midst of good speakers, paying good attention to the speaker so as to grab good ideas that can be relatably used, can be on a face to face level or through the media
  • Asking questions : After listening to good speakers, there must be something shady and not completely comprehended but the curiosity to ask question for a clear picture is also attributed to being smart, as they say "A problem known, is a problem solved"

I feel say this post ehh dey really talk about how i take start my life, people dey feel say na hard work dey carry person go far my brother SOFT AND SMART work ni be the koko i go still dey talk am over and over. make we use u for example, like this shey u dey bitcointalk dey do your thing normal tomorrow now u cash out from bounty campaigns you follow engaged shey na hard work be that or na smart work and soft one at that.
80  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: One of ways to identify scams on: October 18, 2023, 01:09:39 AM
The way scamming keeps growing is now alarming or it have always been alarming but much more now .

If you are on track with  Web scams unknowingly mostly investment and purchase, once it's getting  to the  point of add phrase, drop it its a scam so far  its not a noncustodial wallet setup or you have a choice to do a thorough checkup and research

This is a page from https://pinetstore.cc asking for phrase
Apart from this its  a  very young site asking for  phrase, well could be trusted but has pi netwok made an official  announcement?? I don't  think so. Can we say its a scam?? Smiley That's left to us Grin

Also if you check the value of pi required to purchase Item below  it's looks somehow fishy to entice users.

Believe it most scams gain trust through  short time honesty  approximately  deceit to gain more attention from audience  who eventually fall victim as it's crashes in a short period of time.

Other tips to verify a scam site
  • Do research  If there are ads of other scam site
  • Check reviews although it doesn't work sometimes as they pay off reviewers but still part of tips
  • Check the duration of existence for a particular site
  • Check the Trust level over the years
Among others i could mention, it's a good advice to learn more

Edits
Additional Tips
  • Verifying and background  check help for a site from a large forum talk like Bitcointalk.org
  • Using tools provided by some websites to track scam websites e.g
    Website - https://www.scamadviser.com/

You know one problem with most people is that they DONT READ IN BETWEEN THE LINES, and some are stubborn too to have listening ears. Scam in this generation is nothing to write home about because they come now in different styles and tricks, those too who are engaged in free airdrops giveaways fall a victim to these stuff most likely.
