61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Tax holding back bitcoin from going to the Moon on: November 23, 2021, 01:58:27 AM
It doesn't, but personally it holds someone's holding back, if you'll cash out your holdings, there's a fee in order to compensate for tax whenever you cashout or make a transaction, it's annoying and I hate how some of these exchanges use up a high cashout fee, personally, it holds us back but Bitcoin can still go to the moon, regardless of tax.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Bitcoin City on: November 23, 2021, 12:03:06 AM
This is another history for bitcoin that only El Salvador has the guts to do it.
Yes, they are making a BIG history that they're the first country that adopted Bitcoin and becomes a trade zone.  They're now part of the Bitcoin history that should people know and I think there are few countries that had to follow their steps.

El Salvador trying to improve their economy and even it is a risk to invest in Bitcoin their president and the government already studied this.  Because they are trying to be independent towards using dollars and the country of US as well.  However, many countries were now on eyes with them, it might be followed to them if the result is good which I doubted it is.

I don't think all countries are interested in declaring Bitcoin as their own legal tender, it is either the governments have no interest or they just don't want people to gain too much freedom over a currency or perhaps they aren't ready for this kind of setup just yet. Indeed a historical figure claimed as the first Bitcoin city and country, El Salvador will just be one of the many countries in the future to declare Bitcoin as a legal tender.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if governments make Bitcoin centralized? on: November 22, 2021, 11:57:03 PM
It will bring huge impact in the price of bitcoin. It will became trusted a by many of the governments. The price of bitcoin is not purely on adopted altcoin. Can the centralization will bring new people to the investments of crypto tradings. If more people get into investments, the price of bitcoin will increase automatically and gives you more profit.

What will you do your profit if you don't have any control of it? do you know what decentralized actually is? Decentralized system means no one has control of your funds except you. If govt able to freeze your coin and seize your profit and take unnecessary tax then what you will do with your profit? Investors will never trust such kind of centralized system.
It doesn't mean that once we are in a centralized market we don't have control of our funds, it has been said that the government will take control of the price where they can pump and dump if they want. The only advantage of being in a decentralized state is that the market moves freely but because of the whale's participation, we are no longer that fully decentralized status, price can still be manipulated by them.
But in terms of security, it is too weak than being back-up by the government.

True, decentralized or centralized it may still be controlled, and currently, the government may not have the authority to centralize Bitcoin but it is definitely backed by whales, therefore, regardless whether if it is centralized or decentralized, the market and Bitcoin is still owned by the whales, I'd still go for a decentralized system but you can never rely on a single currency, the market is as huge as the ocean.

You have got experience, so you must understand how to avoid it now. I guess you didn't analyze deeply the coins at that time. Just followed the hype, and fear missing the chance to buy. Is it true?

As first timers and without prior knowledge, mistakes are bound to happen, even if you have suffered from missing out or missing the opportunity to buy/sell at the right moment, it's alright since there's always room for adjustments and lessons to learn from it.

I think these dirty style plays from LeBron are going to become more and more common as his aging lowers his play level to be below some of the young guys in the league. I don’t he’s going to have an easy time adjusting to him not being the most dominant player on the court.

Guys, LeBron has only been ejected 2 times only, all the other dirty plays he did were either mild or he simply got away, I'm not a LeBron fan but he's not a dirty player
You are missing the point Dupee. He wasn't a dirty player when he was younger since he can dominate the game with his skills and superior athleticism. He may as well resort to using tricks and some dirty plays to outmaneuver his opponents as his body deteriorates due to age. He won't be able to outrun or outjump younger guys now.

Well, he's 36, he is past his prime but I'm pretty sure with the situation that elevated yesterday or perhaps the other day, the situation wasn't really that relevant to what you were saying, it's not a trick nor a dirty play, Isaiah Stewart is not a key player for Detroit, only averages on what is expected for a rookie/sophomore so I don't see the need for LeBron to actually get rid of this kid in the game, I am assuming that it's more of a frustration rather than a dirty play, you can see how irritated LeBron was when he elbowed Stewart, therefore, LeBron won't resort to that kind of violence as he didn't mean it and was a heat of the moment for both, I still feel bad for Stewart though.

I don’t he’s going to have an easy time adjusting to him not being the most dominant player on the court. When I start seeing stuff like that, it makes me think he should start considering retirement before he cheapens his legacy.
I agree if these dirty games from him keep on going on. He should've settled and retired and that's better for his reputation. I hope that he goes better with his next games.
Because if not and this continues, there's something wrong with it. It's just surprising to see that someone like him goes on rage and it's very unusual watching him being like that.

Guys, LeBron has only been ejected 2 times only, all the other dirty plays he did were either mild or he simply got away, I'm not a LeBron fan but he's not a dirty player, call him more of a flopper when the NBA were stupid enough to make those calls, but I really think he deserved to be ejected. may it be because of the heat of the game but you can see how irritated he was when he elbow punched Isaiah Stewart, the Lake show got the win anyways and I got my bet just right thanks to Russ.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to avoid all scams? on: November 21, 2021, 10:22:23 PM
Fact checking and using sources such as forums can be a powerful tool in order to avoid getting scammed, but it is inevitable for someone not to encounter any scams at all since it can be on any platform that you use, investing in projects otherwise requires further fact checking and might as well see their whitepaper and other proof provided.
68  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's Recent Drop Below $60K Is Not Worrisome, Analyst Says on: November 21, 2021, 08:29:41 PM
Unfortunate for me and some who were looking forward to withdraw this December but again we've experienced quite the growth these past few months and I guess all we have to do for now is wait until the bearish season is over, people shouldn't be too worried about this, esp. for the long-term holders, now for someone like me, I guess I'll have to convert some of it and try to settle investing on other coins for short-term profit.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are NFTs overhyped? on: November 21, 2021, 03:10:03 PM
In general, yes, NFTs are overhyped, but when you talk about specific token, some of them are and some of them are underrated, some value of tokens tend to die and some are growing, NFT's are everywhere and expect that majority of these tokens that are being sold is pretty much hype, when investing on NFT, find a token that really seems to be promising as these tokens cost really expensive.
70  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 21, 2021, 12:29:21 PM
Yes, the Lakers' chemistry sucks until now.

I was thinking that when Lebron was back they'll play a better game, but it's very unfortunate that they just allow the Boston Celtics to dominate them. A 22 point loss is a big loss that showed how weak their team is now and as they keep losing, the frustration will just go high.

The next game of the Lakers is against the Pistons, I hope they'll win against a weaker team.

There might be no hope for the Lakers this season, they have played a good start against the Boston Celtics but couldn't hold on until the late quarters.
They are very poor both offensively and defensively. Majority of the Laker is negative in terms of +/-. AD, WB, and the big men were struggling from the start of the season.
The only notable and worthy of addition in the Lakers this season base on the current performance is Carmelo.

Most probably, the Lakers are aching to trade some of their pieces lol.

They need to strengthen their rotation, I guess. They have lots of superstars but they are not blending very well, or the chemistry is not evident. If they are going to trade, then I believe it will be Westbrook and it's been rumored online now that Westbrook will be traded for Kyrie Irving.

That is if Kyrie has decided to take his vaccine shot, apparently, rumors have spread that Kyrie refuses to take the vaccine shot because of his own beliefs and such more on about his personal reasons on why he refuses, therefore, if Kyrie refuses to take the vaccine and participate with the following guidelines, then the Kyrie-Russ trade isn't possible, do a little fact checking first because it may be rumored online but I really think that Kyrie would refuse to join back with LeBron because if we'll look back he moved to Boston for the same reason, but after that Boston trade, Kyrie's career went downhill, he made a comeback for the Nets but was pretty much inconsistent considering the injuries he went through, he had a depressive season last year missing out multiple games and currently missing more games this season because he refused to cooperate.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 41% of people globally say they trust Bitcoin over local currencies on: November 20, 2021, 09:11:07 PM
Statistics says it all, although it may not seem like half of the respondents really know anything about Bitcoin but the fact that 41% chose Bitcoin over local currencies is quite an outstanding number, I honestly was expecting lower than 41% but this is actually more than what I was thinking about. By the time comes, conducting another interview/survey in the next 5 years and we'll see a big difference in numbers from what it is by now and what it is in the future, I am assuming that more people will definitely rely on Bitcoin rather than fiat.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great 6-part Bitcoin documentary from 2021📺📽 on: November 20, 2021, 08:51:05 PM
I've been trying to find a documentary that will actually cover the whole Bitcoin and history of it in general because I've seen a lot of content creators trying on YouTube but failing to cover some important keypoints, this is definitely helpful but the downside is its availability, I guess switching onto another platform would be nice, since it's free to watch, why not just upload the video on YouTube? I would like to watch this 6-part documentary and see for myself what others has to say about it here on this thread.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My plans for the next bear market on: November 20, 2021, 08:30:39 PM
Majority here are confident that USDT will be safe heaven for long term holding, i have a different opinion regarding this. I would convert my profit in fiat currency and there are multiple exchanges that allow you to store the coins in fiat and i would choose those and i do not trust holding USDT and knowing its history and the troubles it will face legally, i would advice everyone to stay away from them.

Go ahead and convert it into another stablecoin than USDT then, the bear market isn't gonna stay for long and recovery is definitely there after the bear market, either convert all of your current holdings or just simply hold it until the next bull season, that doesn't seem to be hard and to be honest it contains less risk than the other options mentioned by the OP and the other replies above.
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hillary Clinton: Nation states should pay attention to the rise of crypto on: November 20, 2021, 05:32:05 PM
Clinton had probably seen the growth of other countries through the adoption of Bitcoin and see this as an opportunity for them to start giving Bitcoin more attention in order to remain the powerhouse currency, it's obvious how strong Bitcoin and how it can actually help the economy for USD to be better than before.

What do you think? Will he get another MVP award this season?
This is one of the best season of Curry and his performance is superb, not only that, the impact to the team is always good as the Warriors are currently sitting at the top now, so no doubt that Curry could win another MVP award as long as he keeps himself healthy this season.
It's now Curry - 1st, Durant - 2nd, Giannis - 3rd, Jokic - 4th, Doncic - 5th.
A big change from what was expected before the season starts where Luka Doncic was on the top. But I am still waiting for the Luka Magic. He is still there and may need to just step up his game a little bit when he comes back from his ankle injury. Average of triple-double with his points at 20-30 per game. Although, if he really wants to win the Season MVP race, he will need more than that. Because Curry is trying to lengthen the gap between them with his monster games.
Luka is quite less productive now because KP is doing better this season. He is sharing the ball with his fellow star player on the team and that's why they are also winning. I like that way as it's very important in the playoffs that both of them have a good chemistry since the team relies on them to win.

Luka KP reminds of Jason Kidd and Dirk Nowitzki dynasty, If Porzingis proceeds to be this productive through the whole season then Luka won't have to put up huge numbers just to win, it's not technically making Luka less productive but having help from his team would really be great.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need a movie about Bitcoin on: November 19, 2021, 06:32:23 PM
Generally speaking, only Bitcoin lovers would pay to see this, I don't mean to offend or attack anyone but a full movie all about Bitcoin is going to be boring, it's not suitable for all ages and I really think that Bitcoin alone is too general and that Bitcoin alone is not enough to make for a movie, a documentary or a series I guess would at least be better and entertaining since we all know that Bitcoin is evolving along with Technology and the market itself.

I know there are movies, series, docu-series out there but these movies really did not make much of an impact didn't they? Probably in the future.

Cavs seems to have a fighting chance against the Nets or is it just the Nets are having another bad day?
That third quarter was when the Cavs almost got near the lead and I saw Harden being really bad at his position as point.
You can see obvious dimes that was always intercepted by the guy defending him. I think Coach Nash should change some of his strategies.
Harden should not always handle the ball whenever he is on the floor. Mix it up to lessen the turnovers. Make him shoot more.

Cavs would have had a better chance with mobley under center as well.  The 7 foot kid is going to be a star in the league, he has a good feel for the game. Nets were too much for them without mobley.

And knicks what a terrible couple of games.  6 games in a row they came out in the third quarter and got outscored.  How can they not come out of half fired up, the energy just isn't there.  Their second team with obi, q and drose has been much better than the starting crew.  This needs to shake up this team.
I didn't noticed that Mobley was not there. Yeah, maybe if he had been there it would be a different ending.
Just checked it.
Quote
Mobley (elbow) has been diagnosed with a sprained right elbow and is expected to miss 2-to-4 weeks, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
He had a good game against the the Celtics with 4 blocks and lead the team with points. I think he overexerted himself during that game that's why he is out. The Cavaliers roster is in a bad position. Upon looking at the injury reports most of their offensive player are listed to be out.
Markkanen, Allen, Sexton, and Mobley. I don't think Garland can shoulder all that weight without those big names.

I believe the Cavs still put up on a show even with their starters out, Garland put on quite a show as he delivered along with Rubio, Wade and Love, they were doing great but weren't consistent enough to go on par with the Warriors as Curry exploded in the 4th, I really think if Curry didn't gave out back-to-back 3pointers on that 4th, the game will be a pretty close match, they defended him well but Steve Kerr's offensive plan is just really something out of this world right now.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about buying a Fandom token and holding it? on: November 19, 2021, 09:10:06 AM
I think the main purpose of buying these fandom tokens is to hold it, we're never sure if it will have value and will be placed on an exchange, it is called a fandom token in the first place, it's more of a collectible rather than to sell it.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will MEME coin rule the world? on: November 19, 2021, 06:38:28 AM
Is this a genuine question or are you actually paid to endorse King Mufasa? I know that we all have our favorite coins and King Mufasa as a meme isn't really going to blow like Shiba or Dogecoin, Mufasa in general isn't even a meme, it's a character on a movie called "The Lion King", so regardless if you'll read the white paper or their website, as a memecoin it definitely won't be here for long.

As for your question, I don't think it suits the topic title and the content of your topic, memecoins cannot rule the market because it's not stable and as reliable as the other coins in the market.
80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 18, 2021, 10:25:07 AM
After Golden State put on a show last night I’m looking forward to some more quality NBA basketball tonight. The Lakers are playing the Bucks on ESPN, so it’ll be one to watch. Looks like still no LeBron after missing 7 games as he is still listed day to day and no update on Nunn’s situation. Should be an easy win for the Bucks, but we’ll see…

The Lakers are a hot mess so I wouldn't bet on them winning. Westbrook is inefficient and everyone else is way past their prime since all the young talent got traded. Not a great look for them.

I think they have the talent to win, they just aren't be utilized well.  Howard should be starting and getting more minutes.  Monk shouldn't be taking shots down the stretch.  Westbrook needs to be allowed to do what he does and needs something to do when he isn't doing what he does...  Once LeBron and Nunn come back there had better be some changes or else the coach will be long gone...

Yeah, another loss by the Lakers, they don't shoot so bad but unfortunately, they cannot stop Giannis who scored 47 points this game.
This is the Bucks that won the championship last season, they have Middleton back already so it's really a tough challenge for the Lakers to beat them on
their home.

Same with the Nets.  Their coach is not utilizing their guys correctly at all.  Aldridge didn't even play the first half last night against the Warriors when they needed him to make a size mismatch.  Terrible coaching.
Coach Nash he made a mistake on that game but overall Nets are still good because they are rank number 2 in the East already, next to Wizards.

I don't think Steve Nash made a mistake though, he really had to sit KD and Harden down in the 4th because they just really waved the white flag at that point seeing Curry on fire and the fact that they can't really do anything else at that point, I guess Steve Nash did this to prepare for the next game, and they won today against the Cavs.
