281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: United state 🇺🇸 take the lead in global Bitcoin adoption 2021 on: September 21, 2021, 04:00:10 PM
First of all the number of bitcoin ATMs is not a metric to measure bitcoin adoption with. How much they are used and by how many people is, and that's not something you can measure.

Secondly the number of bitcoin ATMs should be measured per population not the raw count. A country with 10 million population having a 1000 ATMs has a lot more per population than a country with 300 million having the same 1000 ATMs for example.

And finally it is too late for US to take the lead, there are at least 6 other countries that are so far ahead of US in terms of bitcoin adoption.
Even measuring their usage would not be accurate because there will be cultural differences. In poorer countries you see people being more suspicious of fiat atms because they are often tampered with but western countries are living primarily on credit cards. Then western countries are going to have more atm installations because they can afford them if you have checked the price of installing and operating these atms they are not cheap.  What are the countries that you think are ahead of the US?

It is quite unfair to compare United States to these poor countries, but statistically speaking, it is true that the US holds majority of the adoption this year, I guess that is how knowledgeable everyone is about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, but with the continuous trend of Bitcoin, more and more countries and their citizens are likely to invest in Bitcoin as well, BUT, you can't really compare a powerhouse country like US to other countries, esp. to those countries who aren't even on par with US.
282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Do Young Investors Prefer Cryptocurrencies? on: September 21, 2021, 03:26:45 PM
It is also because it has been proven by a lot of investors these past years that it is more effective to invest in cryptocurrency, not because it is the hype right now, I remember a lot of people were claiming that Bitcoin was all hype and will die soon, how closed their minds were that they didn't even realize how essential Bitcoin will be, and looking at Bitcoin and ETH right now, the 2 powerhouse cryptocurrencies are continuously growing, more investors are interested in investing in crypto, and there will be more investors as Bitcoin continues to grow.
283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto statue unvailing in Graphisoft Park (Hungary) on: September 21, 2021, 06:10:08 AM
Perhaps it is possible to have a mirror that reflects the faces of people to symbolize that we are all Satoshi.

It doesn't even necessarily need to be a mirror; because obviously mirrors are a lot more frail. They could simply just made the face part a flat shiny sheet of metal(the material they used seems shiny enough), so people could actually see their faces in an un-distorted manner. (because the face's curves, bumps, and crevices are obviously going to heavily distort the reflection).

I'm honestly a bit too unnecessarily annoyed by this because I really think having a clear flat reflection is the right way to pull this off lol.

Maybe because Satoshi's real face is distorted? So that's why when we look at it, it reflects our face on a distorted way? 🤣 lmao, jokes aside though, I think the idea of these artists are actually cool, defining that we're all Satoshi and that the hoodie gives meaning as anonymity, that no matter how hard we try to find Satoshi, we'll just end up finding the wrong person (like Craig Wright 😂), this statue is a huge influence on the Bitcoin community, great work and huge props to the artists as well.
284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is telling people you're into stocks "cool" but crypto is a big secret? on: September 21, 2021, 05:46:40 AM
Ever noticed how people would boast or proudly proclaim (or at least used to) that they invest and trade stocks, but they don't feel the same way about crypto, as if it's a secret never to be shared? Why is that?

For real? I don't think it goes the same in my community, my friends and I are completely vocal when it comes to crypto trading, we actually help each other and to the point where we wanted to share it to a larger audience (like uploading a tutorial in YouTube), I also don't see a reason why it should be kept as a secret but for personal reasons I guess, also, it depends on the country I guess, but crypto trading is much cooler than forex trading, in my opinion.
285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will Paraguay be the next to make Bitcoin ‘official currency’ on: September 21, 2021, 04:10:59 AM
with the adoption by the country of El Salvador of the adoption of bitcoin nationally in their country this is very positive for the survival of bitcoin, such as the discourse on the topic that there will be a second country where Paraguay is also seriously interested in bitcoin being adopted in that country, if this really happens it will have a very positive impact on bitcoin, bitcoin is currently in dire need of recognition from sovereign countries
Not to really be that hateful or in doubt but they should at least look up on what do happens with El salvador when it comes on making Bitcoin as their main currency rather than on hurrying up on making decisions.
I dont really have any doubts with bitcoin to be on countries main or official currency because decentralization doesnt really works for a centralized type of government which means there would really be
lots of adjustments that would really be done from being heavily centralized to decentralized which is something that they would consider it out.

Correct because their economy will be at stake if they will rush those adoption. The best they can do for now is they should see first what the effect it cause to El Salvador for much longer time so that they can evaluate clearly if Bitcoin is really good to be adopted and treated as a legal tender on their country. I can't deny that there are heavy adjust toward what you mention as well as we can't deny how unpredictable the market especially by now we can see a huge trial for BTC to retain its current level.

Honestly, Paraguay is a country that is more suitable to actually make Bitcoin as a legal tender, economy-wise, I think Paraguay won't have any kind of struggle if they were to adopt Bitcoin, but legalizing it at this point is much more practical than making it as a legal tender.
286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador bought more BTCs on: September 20, 2021, 04:36:50 PM
A long bearish period could actually appear, in my opinion, what he did is such a bad move considering El Salvador's current state and how neutral their citizens are about BTC, now I don't know if this is a demand coming from their citizens or the government alone, but buying more bitcoins at this point is what I think redundant, but since I have no data to back my statement up, feel free to correct me on this one.
287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With all your assets, Investing in Bitcoin is really a madness or beneficial ? on: September 20, 2021, 02:21:53 PM
No one expected Bitcoin to peak like that last year, It's not a good idea to invest all your money at once to Bitcoin, the problem is, the price hasn't made a full dump, no one can actually give you a clear assurance if the price is going down or going up, if you do want to play it safe and gain profit, start by investing a little with all your assets, keep track of the market at all times and make decisions, the risks/problems are still present even if you want to play it safe of course.
288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dollar supporters destroy Bitcoin ATM in El Salvador on: September 20, 2021, 03:06:41 AM
It was most likely arranged by banks, who are paid advocates of the US dollar.Because banks can't do anything about bitcoin right now, they're trying various methods to get rid of it, but it's not going to work. Cryptocurrencies are already popular, and at least half of the people who use banks use bitcoin in some manner, and watching that figure increase is their greatest concern.

I don't know if what you're saying is true since you didn't cite any source, I doubt that banks are the only reason why this could possibly happen, although, it may be true, but to destroy government property? I think at this point it's those citizens who just really hate Bitcoin and how the world is transforming digitally, those who are close-minded and probably those who hate the changes made by the government.

But I guess a single ATM machine won't hurt anything, and that man is definitely paid to do that, even a hater won't do that unless he/she is paid to do so.
289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legalization. In Ukraine and now Laos on: September 19, 2021, 06:28:07 PM
The more adoption that is done by several countries that support bitcoin, the more popular the use of bitcoin will be. but even so the pros and cons will continue to occur. as happened recently in el salvador about the refusal of several groups of people who do not agree with the legalization of bitcoin to protest and burn one of the Bitcoin ATM machines.
Now Laos will also adopt bitcoin, we'll see what happens. Bitcoin is growing in popularity.

Big difference here is Laos is just legalizing Bitcoin, allowing its citizen to freely use Bitcoin, mine, trade, but not totally rely on Bitcoin just like what El Salvador did, making it as their legal tender, which is not the case for Laos.

Also, 7 million citizens in Laos, that's not a small number at all but my concern here is how big Bitcoin is in Laos, if it ain't that big there, then the impact is probably not that great, although it's actually for their citizens to actually move without the fear of being arrested, since they can do activities without fear nor hatred.
290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Statue in Hungary on: September 19, 2021, 05:14:46 PM
I love the idea of the sculptors to make it as bronze and reflect on whoever looks at it, technically, we can all claim ourselves as "Satoshi", quite true, technically, we all hold an amout of BTC, but I'm pretty sure that it doesn't only stick to one definition, also, I wonder how big this statue is?
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK customers can now buy Bitcoin through Paypal on: September 19, 2021, 04:05:10 PM
It’s a great development, though Paypal in the UK still doesn’t allow its users to withdraw crypto out to their own personal crypto wallets. While this may allow more and more people to get a taste of crypto trading, letting them withdraw is another experience that people should have. I know that it’s already in the works, and that might mean yet another push for cryptocurrencies since Paypal needs to acquire crypto in order to fund user accounts for crypto withdrawals to be possible.

If Paypal has implemented the method of buying Bitcoin from the platform itself, I'm quite sure that the amount of demand given to them from their users is quite a lot, therefore, I really do think that they'll be acquiring crypto soon, also, with Bitcoin on their platform, such as other wallets, I'm pretty sure that they'll include other cryptocurrencies as well.
292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin suitable to become legal tender? on: September 19, 2021, 04:01:15 PM
To those countries who are trying to follow El Salvador and them making Bitcoin as a legal tender, I'm pretty sure that these countries would make such better decisions because of the errors of El Salvador, with such an early stage, I was also expecting that there would be issues such as the lack of knowledge around Bitcoin, it can't be easy for someone new to crypto to just simply get the hang of it right away. On the other hand, I think Bitcoin as a legal tender is no problem really, it's just that we can't expect that the citizens would switch right away, good keypoints OP, but for me, in this early stage, we can just wait and observe more on how the government of El Salvador manage this.
293  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID advanced the world into the future on: September 15, 2021, 10:09:51 PM
The epidemic has a relatively large impact on Bitcoin. At least, that's what I think. During the epidemic, many people lost their jobs. Because they couldn't make ends meet, they sold the bitcoin they had bought for a long time to make ends meet. Some people bought bitcoin and when bitcoin fell, they did not have enough funds to continue to cover their positions and sell bitcoin.
It is a pandemic because it has affected the world and spread worldwide. Many laid off their jobs and we thought that it will have a significant negative effect on bitcoin.
But it's the other way that surprised us that bitcoin reached its newest ATH during this pandemic.

May look great, but economy-wise, it really isn't, I don't think it actually advanced, I honestly think that Bitcoin could hit its ATH anytime this year, pandemic or not, people will stoon start investing and even companies would start to embrace Bitcoin, it is what it is and it is bound to happen in the future, we just really peaked because of the amount of people who actually lost their jobs because of the pandemic, can't say I'm entirely happy because it did ruin a lot of lives, happy for BTC to reach its ATH but never happy on what's happening with the world today.
294  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid-19 vaccination becoming a criteria to live in the world on: September 15, 2021, 10:01:00 PM
The Delta variant is not to be joked with, you can see how fast it infects someone, well, based on my experience, I just recently caught COVID 2 weeks ago, the transmission was quite fast and because of it, my whole family had to be quarantined, really one of the hardest times for me. The vaccines released were used to be heavily doubted (well at least in my country), not only because of its side effects but because people used to think of COVID is the same as a normal flu or cold, but this Delta Variant stormed in and targeted more people around their families. I have no vaccine injected in me yet since I just recently tested POSITIVE for COVID, one of my biggest regrets is not taking it early as I can to at least prevent this from happening.

Vaccines are essential and needed, it may have temporary side effects but I swear, it's better than getting infected and having the potential to actually face death and I'm even considered to be healthy since I'm not obese nor malnourish, just a non-vaccinated guy, and what more if the virus continues to mutate? it's actually scary but for someone without a vaccine, it is definitely much more lethal, our economy will only continue to plummet if the government themselves are taking this opportunity to actually make profit from all of the medical equipment that the citizens need and by raising the price to a ridiculous amount, not entirely putting the blame on the government but they have been ruining everything since this pandemic began, and yes, I am talking about Philippines.
295  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we say the creation of Bitcoin is an Internet of value? on: September 15, 2021, 05:00:23 PM
The creation of Bitcoin opened up doors for more opportunities, and I got to say OP, you have quite a handful of remarkable topics around the forum, you're doing a great job, anyways, Bitcoin is indeed an Internet of Value because it has given us options to earn, trade, sell currency digitally, and since Bitcoin and Internet is interconnected with each other, it will evolve just as how Technology evolves.
296  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador Bitcoin payment option on: September 15, 2021, 07:28:09 AM

For us, the volatility is not a new thing. We have been dealing with cryptocurrency for many years, and we know that it can be volatile. But that is not the case with ordinary people who just started using BTC. When BTC goes down by 10% or 15% in a single day, these people get in to panic mode. And I don't know how to deal with this issue. Hopefully everything will be settled down in the next 5-6 months and the Salvadorans will realize that BTC is superior to USD in the long run. But they need to accept the short-term fluctuations first.

I do hope that the citizens would be educated about Bitcoin right away, so that they won't panic when the price dumps, making Bitcoin as a legal tender is actually a lot of work, knowing that the citizens are not that familiar with it, well, at least some of them, but still, they have to be informed right away on how the price actually works, I'm pretty they've started implementing education about Bitcoin, Blockchain and how volatile this currency is compared to fiat.
297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your first bitcoins came from.. (faucets aside) on: September 15, 2021, 07:24:25 AM
From a logo I designed for a tech store, one of the earliest logos I made, they told me to buy a hardware wallet or just register for a digital wallet, I was aware of Bitcoin that time, the only thing is I don't know how mining and trading works that time, but I did made a logo for this small hardware tech company, after a few revamps, they were finally satisfied and when satisfaction is gained, the reward is given  Grin , I received $30 for that design in Bitcoin, stupid of me to withdraw it without holding, I was literally a newbie in Bitcoin that time, so I wasn't totally aware of the word hodling that time.
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why did you miss Bitcoin? on: September 15, 2021, 07:10:12 AM
If time goes back 10 years and give you another chance, will you really take out your real money and buy it when Bitcoin is still considered air?

If I only knew Bitcoin 10 years ago, I would have probably invested, only if I had a mindset of an adult that time of course, but since we were so young that time, well at least for me  Grin , I think it's impossible that we'd focus on Bitcoin instead of our academics and enjoying our childhood, but if I was only this aware on how big Bitcoin will be in the future, I seriously would have bought and tried to buy when BTC used to be very cheap, it sucks to have regrets but at least we're making progress now, it's never too late to start investing.
299  Economy / Economics / Re: @Deloitte: "The fiat currency will be gone in 5 to 10 years". on: September 15, 2021, 05:31:00 AM
It is true, we are slowly transitioning from fiat to digital, no more paper money, most of us right now are switching to digital money, although it may seem like the world is turning digitally, fiat will still be around, seems unlikely for fiat to disappear in just 10 years, as long as people are still heavily using it and is still a legal tender, fiat won't disappear in such a short period of time.
300  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador Bitcoin payment option on: September 15, 2021, 02:48:58 AM
it's a good thing El Salvador is taking it slowly, not everyone can quickly adapt to Bitcoin and just understand it so quickly, also, I guess they made an option/choice to the sellers to receive fiat or BTC as payment since we all know how volatile Bitcoin is, probably those who are knowledgeable would likely to receive the payments as fiat just so they can play it safe and not worry about the price dipping.
