241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the NFT hype? on: October 04, 2021, 08:36:25 PM
I swear, my Discord is popping off with DM's from different developers wanting me to try their NFT game out, you can see that the hype is definitely there, though I am quite sure that few NFT projects will die due to the amount of new projects being released everyday, the NFT hype may die soon, but in my country, there is this NFT game that is extremely essential to us, because of it, somehow, some people were able to escape poverty, not entirely but it was really a big help, I can say that it can actually help the economy since the government is actually now taking taxes out of this NFT game.

242  Other / Off-topic / Re: Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram Down on: October 04, 2021, 06:37:55 PM
Could have posted this on another board, Bitcoin isn't involved, but I do think this could be a possible data breach, therefore, Facebook Co. had to shut their servers down immediately, although this is just my own guess towards the situation.
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it true that NFT is the best investment in the future? on: October 04, 2021, 03:42:03 PM
NFT is a very promising investment in the future, if you see the interest of artists and popular figures starting to think about investment patterns here, it is very likely that NFT in the future is a promising investment, plus athletes are starting to target investment here .
It takes special preparation to be part of NFT's investment, considering the positive potential that will happen is something we are waiting for, with NFT's outreach services for fans of Artists, Athletes and Big Figures, it is very possible for NFT to be part of the investments. NFT.

What do you think???
Just like what happen to DeFi, NFT is the trend of the crypto market and its getting lots of hypes and popularity even to those people who really don't know cryptocurrencies. I can say that for these year its really best to invest in NFT but if you will do it long-term I don't think its good idea knowing that every year plenty of innovations are happening within the cryptoworld so you must learn to adopt on it.

I don't think it'll only live up with the hype, NFT's covered even people who don't actually use crypto not even have knowledge around other cryptocurrencies besides Bitcoin and ETH.

It won't be considered as long-term if something better comes up against NFT, but since NFT has covered almost all of the people, the hype will still remain as long as everything goes well, the prices seem to be volatile but that's just normal, as long as it contains value and it continues to pump and not only dump, then it's indeed a worthy investment.
244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Robbery on: October 04, 2021, 11:51:17 AM
Security is also man basic needs on earth because it’s very devastating and most times deadly when someone steals our valuables. The reason I suggest for a confirmation code for every transaction is simply because bitcoin and most crypto are decentralized making it almost impossible to recover lost coins. There should be a confirmation code sent to our email or phone number during transaction in crypto wallets to originally prove the transaction is being performed by the real owner of the wallet, once  the confirmation code is received via gmail or any other means and has been copied in the appropriate place. This action will automatically confirm the transaction in the wallet.

I don't know if a feature like that exists, though in Coinbase, if you make a transaction/payment, they have a feature that requires your biometrics/pin before finalizing the transaction and sending it through Blockchain, but if they stole your phone along with your credentials, there's really no possible way on controlling the transaction, you can either try to retrieve your account but I am quite sure that your bitcoins will be gone by the time you retrieved it, also, you can't track the transaction and the receiver, of course, we have the power of being anonmyous, and the power of having as many addresses as we want.

I have had reports of people complaining of their lost wallets. some where asked to provide the pass codes of their wallets forcefully at gun point. In my locality now this is the modern age robbery. People are much aware about bitcoin and are using this means to steal from innocent bitcoin enthusiasts. My friend was a victim couple of days ago as she was robbed of her valuables and the robbers went further to ask for her blockchain password which she fearfully provided and immediately her bitcoin was wiped away from her wallet. This is so scary and threatening to bitcoin enthusiasts.

I feel bad for those who worked hard for their bitcoins and for your friends, those robbers probably gathered info on people who holds BTC around your area, the downside of being socially open and open about being a crypto enthusiast, sometimes it's better to be in a lowkey state, some people will really take advantage, well, if that's the case on why he got robbed, and if it's not, then that's just really unfortunate.
245  Other / Archival / Re: Why do most (if not all) casinos ban users’ accounts if have more than one? on: October 04, 2021, 09:56:31 AM
Well, I think not all of them [I saw casinos that allow multiple accounts]--in this case, you must open to them is if you are allowed to create another account. Perhaps the possible reason is prone to abuse, running two accounts in one casino is everywhere restricted and that is always on their TOS. However, in scam accusation has a different story, but usually, cases are users did not read the TOS and without knowing them they already prohibit the law which is very risky, the most punishments is blocking your account. If you deactivated one and then create another one, there is no problem but I think always read the TOS will not put you in danger and it is best if you have one account.

Having more than one account is really prone to abuse.
This is the major reason why most casinos are not allowing such practice.
For those scam allegations, most of them haven't read the ToS of the site before creating their other accounts.
So it is not the fault of the site, but the player himself.
And if you are a gambler, what do you think is your main reason of creating another account?
Though some just want to separate their activities but a lot are after for some referral bonus  or other things that the site deemed as abuse.

This topic should be moved to gambling discussion board - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=228.0.

The reason of separating activities is too weird already, why not put it all on one account? as having multiple accounts is already suspicious and the reason mostly behind making multiple accounts is to abuse the system, the freebies, the referral bonuses, if Casinos let users get away with this then that's just poor management and security overall, unfair and abusive, even if it's not the Casino's fault and the player not reading the ToS, the toll would still be on the Casino itself because they've let users spam and abuse this kind of system.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be more effective in the future on: October 03, 2021, 08:06:58 PM
In India cryptocurrency is not legal as well as not illegal. There is no any official permission for use of Bitcoin or any other coin but still many crypto exchanges are running currently in India also getting advertisements on TV, YouTube & many more places. Here government also believe there is future of cryptocurrency. As we know bitcoin started trading from around 0.0008$ to 0.08$ and now it's approx 50,000 $$. But there is also risk side of getting loss for those who don't have some knowledge of trading and those who don't have patience. Keeping in view of these all things government is talking time for making it fully legal. We believe a very good future of Bitcoin & many of the Indian started doing trading in cryptocurrency.

Also as long as the internet is live in this world then many more users, organization, industries, etc will involve and enter to the crypto bitcoin market. I personally believe Bitcoin will reach a greater heights in the future and a real holder can understand this.

I am not Indian nor living in India but I think India is quite neutral to this, technically, rolling out crypto advertisements is already a form of legality, so technically speaking, Bitcoin is indeed legal there, CoinSwitch operates as a digital exchange used by a lot of Indian citizens, if digital exchanges there can operate freely, then the government is indeed allowing crypto activities but never supports them.

Technology continues to advance, and so does our innovation to the environment, right now, technology continues to surge through several advancements, and so does cryptocurrency along with Bitcoin, technology will never go back and only goes forward, so does with our internet, so I doubt the internet will disappear unless the country's government decides to ban the access to internet.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cripto and Sports on: October 03, 2021, 04:44:33 PM
We know how some fans can actually go crazy over this and follow the footsteps of their idols, this is good exposure for crypto, if big names like Messi, Osaka, decided to earn in Bitcoin, then a huge amount of their fanbase will also decide to invest in Bitcoin, that's how powerful they are.

I do also have a question about team tokens and how are they valuable? how do they work? will fans get any value from it? or is it just something exclusive that fans can get, something to brag about?
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iranian Bitcoin Mining Ban Lifted after four Months on: October 03, 2021, 04:10:36 PM
Iran made ban on bitcoin mining after gathering information of mining farms around the country. According to the data it is clear that more than 90% miners were using illegal electricity and without proper licensing. Only 5-10% were doing it in a legal way with proper licensing from the respective authorities. This illegal usage of electricity resulted on the deficit of day to day needs around the country. Now the government might've made required changes and lifted the ban.

In the span of 4 months, the Government of Iran might've probably made several changes, due to shortage of electricity, they had to implement the ban even on those miners who are legally operating, but since the ban is now lifted, I think that everything will be back to normal and these illegal miners cannot operate anymore.
249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 6000 coinbase clients hacked on: October 03, 2021, 05:38:35 AM
Some points before people starts panicking:

The hack took place between March and May 20 of this year

The hackers needed to know the email addresses, passwords and phone numbers linked to the affected Coinbase accounts, and have access to personal emails

Although obviously Coinbase said that there's no evidence that the users' data comes from them, it looks too much like it. Either somebody from inside has sold users' data to a malicious 3rd party, either Coinbase user database was hacked and they didn't notice. Of course, from there to actually accessing users' e-mails there's still some work to do.

The warning, however, is the same as always: don't keep at centralized exchanges too much money and for too long. Not your keys, not your coins.

I heavily use Coinbase, since their user interface and features are actually great, although I still have worries of having my account getting hacked, I'm actually glad that my Coinbase account did not get breached. It could either be a breach under Coinbase's DB and since they were able to breach through their 2FA feature, anyway, I think I'll consider switching wallets or at least not let my holdings stay here for a long period of time.

250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Twitter can make impact in the BTC world? on: October 02, 2021, 06:54:45 PM
Twitter has a huge impact, influencers like Elon uses the platform in a way that he even brought Doge to life, so I can say that Bitcoin can be impacted through this social media platform "Twitter", also, Jack Dorsey himself supports Bitcoin by using Bitcoin currency as tipping/donation feature that they will be adding soon which is actually great, but that's not actually the main point on Bitcoin's impact, it's more about the community and followers, because of Twitter, we have reached more people curious and eager to know more about Bitcoin, and because of this, the community continues to grow.
251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador 🇸🇻 Mines First Bitcoin With Volcanic Energy 🌋 on: October 02, 2021, 12:18:55 PM
Bukele's transparency towards his project for El Salvador is actually a great trait that he has, sharing it to the world and the country's success on being the first country to ever utilize Bitcoin.

I do have one question in mind though, is there any negative effect on using geothermal energy for mining? I know that geothermal energy is natural energy and that it is definitely way better than electricity, though, is there anything negative that could possibly happen overtime? is it hard to maintain? any environmental issue for volcanic geothermal energy? Just really curious, though I did my research, I do wanna know your responses over this.
252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: YOUR FAVORITE GAMBLING? on: October 02, 2021, 11:11:21 AM
Yes, the simplicity and mechanics of the game isn't hard to understand and everyone has a chance to win on it. Whether you're a beginner or an expert in gambling.
The chance has always been the same.
That is why dice will still exist until now, even in the crypto gambling site. We see many crypto gambling sites have this dice game but with different interfaces to attract more gamblers to enjoy their game and trying to win. Even if they lose some money, they will come back to play again. Every person who plays dice will have their chance to win, but they should know that they also have an opportunity to lose their money and the worst is they lose all of the money without realizing it.
And will keep on existing because of how easy it is and it's very open to everyone for which doesn't choose yours status, a newbie or not. The reason for why someone keeps on coming back is because of how catchy the game is. Despite being very simple, it's catchy and thrilling which creates an idea if you're lucky or not.

Basic games can be called the beginner-friendly gambling game, but this kind of game if we play too much this gives us more enlightenment about getting complicated like what are the possible odds to win this game which is might get riskier to make a decision unlike you didn't totally understand how it works. Even the dice game all you need is to predict the outcome if it's even or odd but of course this becomes more complicated with the use of stats and probability of the outcome of the dice, if you are playing with a dice throw there's a chance you can manipulate the throw but if you are playing dice with the use of randomizer I guess its too hard to win against on it.

Those games are intended to people who are new to gambling or just really do not want to exert time and effort studying a card game or simply a game that takes time to learn. Rock, Paper, and Scissors is also a good example, I've visited several casinos online and have seen games like the dice game and rock, paper, scissors, with just a different user design, and I do agree that these are essential in a casino, one of the reasons on how to maintain your casino is to set up easy-to-learn games like these.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT is an interesting space on: October 01, 2021, 03:23:15 PM
Discord is probably one of the reason on how NFT projects were able to promote their games easily, I've been testing out several NFT games that looks promising, some has potential, some will probably die after the hype, the reason why I brought up Discord is because you can actually collect gamers from different servers and DM them to test out your own project, now of course not everyone will interact but gamers like me will definitely do it, fact checking is important as well to avoid getting hacked or scammed, only trust DMs from people who seems to be trustworthy enough. Discord is a great platform and could be one of the keys why some NFT games are booming right now, a huge community is important.
254  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Convenient way to monitor BTC? on: October 01, 2021, 01:37:16 PM
This is actually nice, as a web developer myself, I can see how much work you've placed in here.

The features are actually great, you can tweak it from real-time (1ms) or add a delay to it, an all-around monitoring website intended for traders.

Although it is packed with good features, how are you going to maintain this? I know I'm not in the place to ask this but how are you going to provide profit from this website? or you developed this for free? Just concerned because I know how long it takes to develop something like this.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto misinformation is turning into an issue for people new to the game. on: October 01, 2021, 01:29:13 PM
I have seen topics and posts around with incredible amounts of misinformation. Mostly posted by newbies as their first or second post. Most people that have been in the crypto game for a while knows to take most "news" about crypto with a grain of salt. But some people that are newer to it might fall victim to fake information or fake investment "guides" that tell you to invest in some token that is, to an experienced person, obviously a pump and dump or scam coin. A friend of mine who is semi-new to this called me a couple weeks ago frantic, telling me that he had seen a prediction about some random token and told me that he might invest in it if the returns were real. He asked me if he should go for it, and I told him that he looked alot like a scam project. Its a good thing that he didnt put capital into it, because within a week of him seeing this article on the token, the website for it was gone. This is an example of how easily people that are new to this get tricked into losing their capital. Theres really nothing anyone can do about it, but I think the easiest way the prevent scams and slow them down is to educate people that are new to this.

Lack of information is the common enemy when something new is being introduced to people, and since cryptocurrency is on the rise, some people lack the knowledge to actually determine what could be a scam and what could be legitimate, if your friend didn't confont you he would have actually lost his money.

Fact checking is something that we actually do not do whenever we invest (this is common to newbies who lack information or literacy when it comes to identifying what is real and what is not), especially when we get blinded by the project's fake promises, and then *poof* the site is gone, everything disappeared, and also the money you invested.
256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 30, 2021, 04:36:35 PM
I'm a fan of Jalen also because he represents our country, so I will support him although I did not follow his NCAA journey. This is his time to shine as the rockets does not have enough superstar talents, now, so I'm rooting for him to have the best season of his career, and counting to win the ROY as well.

Jalen did not go to the NCAA btw, he joined the G League (Ignite), if he did join the NCAA though he would be solid there, he could've redeemed that 1st pick, but speaking of experience and training, the G League is a good choice for him entering already as a pro and earning more than the players in NCAA.

Exactly, there's no record of NCAA here https://www.basketball-reference.com/gleague/players/g/greenja02d.html.
His stats with the G league is very impressive, so this young man could bring improvement to the team.

By the way, what's the status of his injury, he was injured during the summer league, so hopefully, he is okay now so he can play with the preseason.
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/jalen-green-injury-rockets-rookie-expected-to-miss-rest-of-summer-league-due-to-sore-hamstring-per-report/

Ah no worries about his summer league injury, it was just a sore hamstring injury but he was immediately pulled out for the rest of the summer league since the summer league isn't quite a big of a deal to players like him, the summer league is quite intended more for those players who were undrafted.

LiAngelo Ball is a potential player who may be recruited, I don't know what team though but he has the skill and potential to just like his brothers.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why NFTs projects are not making wave-like ICOs on: September 30, 2021, 04:28:08 PM
I read over the news about John Cena NFT only selling 30 tokens in its public sale an event that prompted the star wrestler to withdraw his support for the project and putting it on gold, and from my personal experience, Ill the NFTs tokens I bought have not yielded any profits all stock in the sale stage for over 4 months now, unlike the ICO era in 2017 where investors making 800x profits just within one month of investment. What seems to have gone wrong in the NFT market within this short period of its existence?

I don't have any information on what went wrong with John Cena's NFT but you can't assume that NFT's are all hype because it is trending right now, a lot of people actually gained profit from playing NFT games, and I'm assuming majority of us here are aware on how impactful gaming is right and its industry? Here in my.country, NFT games are almost everywhere, Discord is the platform used by a lot of NFT projects, while some of them may fail, but several NFT projects actually were successful, Axie Infinity is a good example for this one.

I am quite sure that NFT projects in the future will continue to evolve, it may even be a possibility that gaming and cryptocurrency may be a good partner for a successful project.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador to mine bitcoin using Volcanic energy on: September 30, 2021, 02:50:57 PM
He has been teasing volcano mining for a while now. Right?

But yea, another method of mining in a natural way that puts up another middle finger to those people who think Bitcoin wastes too much energy. Not to mention that it's pretty badass as well!

Great innovation actually, not only that it can save energy, but using natural resource such as volcanic energy, now that's amazing, I think this will be efficient, and "Volcanode" is a cool name, I don't know much about the president of El Salvador, but this is not only a good leap towards the future for their country, but to future countries who are planning to adopt Bitcoin and make it as their legal tender.

Comments on Twitter were kind of salty ngl, I don't know why but probably just haters on the president's decision to make Bitcoin as their legal tender.
259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL- Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: September 30, 2021, 12:52:44 PM
Navi winning the Blast series was not surprising.
It seems they have worked out their in-team issues and are a cohesive group with those adjustments.

Next is the Intel Extreme masters which just got started with the big name teams taking on some of the smaller teams in 1 map play today.
Odds are nearly an even 1.01x.

There was a major update to cs go about a week ago which made changes to dust2.
You can read on the changes here:
https://www.sportskeeda.com/esports/news-cs-go-operation-riptide-update-patch-notes-dust-2-map-changes-new-skins-missions-gameplay-additions
There hasn't been one since 2016 made on any of the maps that I can recall.

Boombl4 was really confident in that Blast series, as their IGL, his impact in the game is really huge, and let's not forget about S1mple just really being the goat in that major, he deserved that, the whole NaVi to be honest.

Valve really needs to make updates and fixes, with Riot's Valorant slowly taking over EU, I really think they need to step it up, or else more and more pros are going to switch, I really love CS:GO but they really need to start doing more, fixing more maps, or doing promotions by releasing a new operation, their last operation was the broken fang and they made a lot that time, I guess they need to be more active just like how Riot is doing, I know that CSGO has been out for almost 10 years and have made heaps of changes, but if they continue to be this passive, they'll lose more players, this is just my own opinion though and how CS is going on in my area.
