Hello,

Yesterday evening I sent some UNO to Bittrex. I used the deposit address they supplied: ug7iuGuwGVZsqDrdADSnsz3XrKKr26Ff5D

As of now, about 20 hours later, is still hasn't shown in pending deposits. Strangely, when I check that address on the blockchain explorer, it seems to be a very old, unused address, last transaction being 2014. This is the only address available for deposit into Bittrex.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this or can enlighten me as to where those coins may be. Btw, I am using the latest wallet.

Thanks a bunch.
Hi Maurice. Was you blockchain sync complete when you created the transaction, does it show up in the Transactions/Ledger tab of the wallet? If so what details does it give you when you double click (transaction ID, # of confirmations etc.)
Thanks learminer,

The sync was NOT complete when I sent them. They did show in the wallet though, and I've sent coins during syncing many times, I just make sure it's synced to the point of my last transaction. When I click on the transaction details, it just shows me the deposit address and says unconfirmed.
How many active connections do you have? If the transaction shows no ID it appears it has not even been submitted to the network.

I mentioned two pages back how there's a lot of low hanging fruit in the Bittrex orderbooks. Guess someone finally saw them and couldn't resist. Cheesy

I haven't used one but I'm interested, I would really like a hardware wallet for my UNO.

Bittrex was updated yesterday. Lots of analysis features for the charts & a fancy home page, I guess they're based in Seattle?
Do the new charts work properly for you? I can't switch between time scales, only the default 30m works. The charting tools look nice, but are worthless unless I can adjust the charts as I like and data won't load when scrolling or zooming. At least the new Javascript seems to be more optimized, my browser slows down much less frequently now.

Their new site version is a work in progress so it'll probably be working soon, but you might join their slack
http://slack.bittrex.com
and give them feedback about issues to make sure they know about them and fix them.

Well it was in beta for a while but sure, bugs happen. They were able to fix it pretty quickly though, all seems well now.

KeepKey: compatible with altcoin wallets (so the manufacturer claims) Product listing on Amazon

Has anyone here used on of these? I may try to obtain one to see how well they work. I'm just not too impressed with ledger as it currently stands.
I couldn't find any reliable info about that. There is code in their git that references Dogecoin, Namecoin and a few others, but that is actually code from Trezor they're using. Isn't Trezor supposed to be compatible with most Altcoins as long as an Electrum-wallet exists? Never tried it, so I'm asking. I'd also be interested in a UNO compatible hardware wallet...

Bittrex alone traded roughly 10k UNO since christmas. Maybe not huge, but certainly enough to aquire a fair share of the currently liquid supply if you are so inclined. There's also an entire ton for purchase up to .0043, so I'm not sure I agree that there's not enough UNO around.

True - huge piles of UNO are off exchanges and I have a feeling even a pump to 5x today's price wouldn't budge a significant portion of that. Most huge wallets stayed put during the last pumps too...

Bitcoin Elite was obviously just meant as a joke. But its a fun way to troll the current Bitcoin Core/Classic/Whatever chaos. If they really don't get their act together, which looks more likely every day, it would be pretty epic for popular alts to rebrand and complete the chaos:

LTC to "Bitcoin Lite"
DOGE to "Bitcoin Shibe"
ETH to "Bitcoin App"
XRP to "Anti-Bitcoin"
DASH to "Bitcoin Dark" - oops Wink
PPC "Bitcoin Green"
XMR to "Bitcoin Textonly"
...
...
feel free to continue

@siameze huh, stability in a market pegged primarily against BTC is pretty much impossible at this point. Maybe 5 years from now, who knows?

Against the dollar UNO has actually been relatively stable, coincidence? I guess for an altcoin trading withing in a +/-50% range around $3 for the past 2 years isn't horrible (compared to coins swinging wildly between extremes of -95%/+1000% in such a timeframe). But not great either, as UNO has slowly but consistently lost ground for over half a year now. Against the Dollar, BTC and other alts.

That might sound a lot more negative than I intended, so let me put that into perspective. Considering UNO went trough a parabolic pump in february it was obvious price had to go down after the brief peak above $4. IMO the excellent fundamentals of UNO saved it form an even darker fate. Price seemed to have found a nice equilibrium in the $3 - $2 range, UNO traded there (.009 - .012 BTC) for almost half a year after things had calmed down. That was indeed remarkable stability. I had a good feeling about the market then. I don't know what went wrong, but sometime in late August someone poked a hole into the market and it has been deflating ever since.

I do seriously think UNO is overdue for an upwards correction in price. Not some crazy ass pump please, but I think in the current environment UNO should be trading at least double of its current valuation, if not a little more. Call me a fanboy. Wink

Features are only ever a small part of the overall picture that is the value of a cryptocurrency. Interesting how we're now suddenly right in the middle of a new alt-hypecycle and many coins, some expected and others seemingly at random, pump at the same time. UNO is not moving an inch, but so are several other even higher profile alts. Wonder what that means...
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: January 27, 2016, 12:10:30 AM
It's funny, I just sold about 600,000 doge at 40 satoshi a couple of days ago, I could have gotten another $200 for those if I would have waited, grrr, OH WELL. When you're playing poker & investing in alts you've got to learn to take the hits with grace, I'm still working on that.
Good old times, I sold millions of DOGE in Jan 2014 @30sat, 4 weeks later it was @300sat. Or that time I sold 10k VTC @4k sat and the next day the pump starts and 4 weeks later its @200k sat. Or that time I ... nah this is too depressing, lol. There's nothing quite like missing out on a good 10-100x pump to make you feel like a fool.  Grin

too bad I didn't take an all in position Sad

Doge can act as a liquidity instrument for the other alts.  Fine tuning price discovery.  And it can act to do the micro transactions and basically end the BTC block size debate.

---
But something bigger is happening this week.

24h Crypto Vol: $ 92,306,452 and nearly half of it is not bitcoin.
I've never seen this, not even +20% for the alts, now alts have a 50% share.

It is the start of a major trend, next is the market capital starting to flee into Alts.
That might take many months yet.  But will happen.  There will be a day in the future where Alts don't just have more volume than bitcoin everyday, but also more total market capital, way more.

Also note the 'Mooning' effect (and the full moon) .... lunatics pumping VPN worth more than NXT, or Earth coin, or other China picks that have null developments that I am aware of?

https://bitebi9.com/
trading @ #2

anyone tested them out yet?
I noticed a buggy wallet feature, so still haven't tried deposit/withdraw.
Yeah there are several alts now with crazy volume. Some expected like DOGE or ETH, but XSI or EAC - where did that come from?! For many of these this is obviously not sustainable and they will fade again, fast. Interesting point about the overall volume of alts being so high in relation to Bitcoin volume - some food for thought.

I looked at Bitebi9 but it seems weird to me, site appears only half functional and volume is minimal. Would rock to have a bigger CNY market for UNO right now.

in a word DOGE
it will happen
... just watch Wink

74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KARM] Karma / ₭ / X11 on: January 25, 2016, 11:03:56 AM
@placebo There's just no reason to launch a new Karma coin. The coin is not broken, the blockchain is moving fine. If this #1 wallet is Cryptsy, then 21%+ of coins are stuck there right now. That would suck. But it also means that 78%+ of people have their coins elsewhere, which is by far the majority.

Why would those be interested in an exchange for a new coin? I certainly wouldn't. Why would anybody be interested in exchanging or buying a bunch of cloned coins (KARMA2, LOT2, MOON2, LEAF2 etc.), that were created only to compensate for losses a few people experienced from Cryptsy going bancrupt (signs of this were visible far and wide)?

Also Cryptsy appears to be opening up more alts for withdrawal, so maybe KARM owners will get lucky a 2nd time (after Mintpal)...

The Cryptsy campaign was a huge success IMO. The mega wallet was drained off tens of thousands of coins and only a small fraction of these seem to have been moved to other exchanges. That is pretty awesome and shows a lot of confidence in the coin by its owners. Why the owners of the remaining 15k coins on Cryptsy decided to let those coins on the exchange is a mystery to me, I can only guess most of those belong to people who used to be into altcoins but lost interest and just weren't aware of the Cryptsy situation (or naively asumed the rumors were false).

Now Bittrex is the biggest market with ~12k of Un which is roughly 5% of total supply. That's not much for a primary altcoin market. UNO needs liquidity to trade and grow. uRAN was out of control, but Trex is fine right now IMO. The #1 account holds a nice sum, but nothing too worrying - pretty much every single altcoin on Trex has a similar distribution pattern (just look at the #1 DASH account worth >125BTC). I couldn't sleep well having that much coin on an exchange, but others apparently can. Raising awareness/volume would be my #1 concern now, nobody is interested in coins that don't trade.

BTW: updated the homepage with some requested changes in the team section.

We tried to get UNO on YoBit awhile back, but their tech support said that they could not get the wallet compiled.

I'm not technical, is that legit? Or, did they just not want the coin there?

I'd love to have it on YoBit as well!
Hard to say from a distance. When I last compiled UNO on Ubuntu Linux a few months ago it was no problem. I followed the guide by siameze (thanks for that) and it just worked.

BUT I had just set up a clean VM for that purpose and fetched all the specific stuff required for UNO. If they're using an existing system I guess they might run into a similar problem I did when trying to build UNO on Windows: that turned out to be a lot more complicated, mostly because it was difficult getting just the right versions of all the dependencies. If you get a wrong version of some library (too old/too new) then the build will fail. Altcoins based on bitcoin core 0.9 will require different libs than those based on 0.10 (like UNO) or 0.11 and other coin-specific changes might also come into play - that could be a problem they ran into.

tl;dr: on a fresh Linux VM building the UNO client can be done in a few easy steps, but on existing setups or other OSes a lot can go wrong...

Clear instructions can be found here:

https://github.com/unobtanium-official/Unobtanium/blob/master/doc/build-unix.md

If these instructions don't work it would be helpful for them to drop by for assistance.

My opinion: Any exchange that can't seem to get it compiled should not be trusted with your money. They don't know what they're doing.

Any exchange that is hosting wallets on a non *nix OS should be completely ignored for incompetence.

And of course I'll remind you that if your coins are on an exchange they aren't your coins anymore... Smiley

This is the correct answer. Grin
Agreed.

Just a note: I removed Cryptsy from unobtanium.uno until this situation resolves.

edit: not that I have actual hopes for it to resolve positively. but I guess there is a 0.5% chance or something, lol

Somebody sold about 50 coins at 0.002 on Bittrex. Props to the lucky bastard who picked those up. There are buy orders at 0.004 on the other exchanges, I'm not sure I will ever understand why people sell so low in cases like this. It takes a few seconds to check the other exchanges then 30 minutes to transfer bitcoin then they would have gotten $40 more, it's just foolish. Such a trade is not a major problem for the commodity, but we should have enough liquidity to prevent these things from happening. The Bittrex buy side has been thin for a couple weeks, so something like this was more likely to happen. As I've said a couple times already, I would have thickened the Bittrex bids but I'm still rebuilding my bitcoin stash at the poker tables, somebody will have to step up and put some bids there, just put some bitcoin at 0.0025-0.0036 and you may get cheap UNO. If somebody doesn't do it soon I'll have to convert USD to crypto to place bids, the deal is just too good.
Awesome, I caught most of that. Sometimes these low orders do play out... Cheesy
