61  Other / Meta / Re: Should bitcointalk ban promotion of other forums? on: January 30, 2024, 04:25:14 PM
I have seen that this forum does not consider it inappropriate when some member makes a post or thread about a competing forum. I am a member of other popular forums and they do not allow mention of competing forums as it is free advertising for them.

What is the opinion of members about this? Is it fine allowing members here to promote or mention competing forums without paying this forum owner or taking his permission  ?
Based on the purpose Satoshi created this forum to serve in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space. No forum can compete with this forum, if any users of this forum say something about another forum on here they are just pointing out something the Mod ought to consider on this forum and people are free to mention other forums on here because the forum Mods aim is to make this forum decentralized as much as possible.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When it comes to selling , is it best to convert or sell for cheaper fees? on: January 30, 2024, 03:59:13 PM
A few of my altcoins are pumping and I want to take some profits to put into others that have not pumped yet
What investment strategy is that? Why would you take profit from s crypto that's doing well and invest it in crypto that's doing well which does not perform well since there's no green now?

but wondering what is the best way of doing this on Coinbase?

Is it best to convert from one altcoin to the other or is it best to sell the altcoin then buy the new altcoin I want to invest more in?
If CoinBase still has the features that let you swap one crypto on their platform to another I believe that will be the best option to use. It will save you time and transactions.
63  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a crypto investor, the less app you install the better. on: January 29, 2024, 11:59:24 PM
The image below is mine, I took this screenshot because Unstoppable wallet, a open source crypto wallet is the only crypto wallet that I have on my phone that warned me about using a non default keyboard, and I have many other crypto wallets on my smartphone including metamask and trust wallet.
Although you can import the wallet into your Unstoppable wallet and never use the Trust wallet again because you no longer require it, I'm amazed that you still have the Trust wallet given the capabilities and functionality of the Unstoppable wallet.
There's no need to have many apps on the phone, or operating system you use for your crypto.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To any Bitcoin holder who lost their seed: How did you lose it? on: January 29, 2024, 11:42:52 PM
What mistakes did you make, and what advice do you have for others to be careful?

What are the best and worst ways of storing a seed in your opinion?
I think most of the mistakes made by many Bitcoin holders who lose their wallets is not storing their seeds in a safe place and some don't back up their wallets. This is usually done by many early adopters of Bitcoin.
The reason I say this is because I lost Solana to such naive habits when they started SOL ICO. At that time, I earned about 200 SOL via airdrop, but never backed up my wallet.
65  Economy / Economics / Re: The savings problem on: January 29, 2024, 11:24:12 PM
The reality is, people do not actually rely from saving anymore, but by taking a loan as they get instant approval most especially if they present good and stable sources of income. With that, the essence of saving most especially for the younger ones have started to vanish until out of 10 workers, only 1 is able to do so.

That’s how fast and influential the changes are. If there are no instant loan offers, they will be encouraged to work hard and save more. But this is the reality now, people are dependent already on what is instant than taking a long process like saving for their future.
You say that the value of savings is disappearing among the population, especially among the youth, and I think that the economy is not helping this situation, but if there's a will, there's a way. People need to get a financial education and read books that help them in their jobs. Because most of these problems arise because people don't distribute their income properly and leave expensive items for the future.

66  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why do many people fail in trade? on: January 29, 2024, 10:51:45 PM
I see a lot of traders who fail in this field, because they do not have patience and consistency in learning, that they are successful traders who study for more than a year or even two years so that they can have the ability to analyze the market and can have their own methods in making profits from trading.
Many who have just learned one month to one semester they give up and no longer want to trade, please note that naturally fruitful trees are trees that grow with a long period of time so that they can bear heavy fruit and can provide benefits for both the owner or others.

Don't give up quickly in trading, there are many mistakes that you have to take lessons from, walk slowly and with principles in trading with risk management that you can control and not overdo it so that you can take advantage for yourself.

Focus, be consistent, learn from your mistakes and think that building an empire takes time.

What are your additions to understanding the learning time for someone who is learning to trade? I think sharing here will benefit those who may be close to giving up in this field.

Yes, patience and consistency in learning to upgrade the understanding of the crypto market momentum is good but the long period of learning about the market analysis is not what justifies a trader's knowledge about the market.
Some people are fast learners and some are slow in learning and understand the depth strategy. If a trader believes they are not good enough they can keep learning.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US gov’s planned $118M Bitcoin sale is ‘peanuts’ compared to GBTC on: January 28, 2024, 11:25:34 PM
We are talking about the US government's 2.9K Bitcoin sold on the mentioned exchange to be peanut compared to GrayScale outflow, yes it is but we seem to forget that huge BTC will be sold by 3 organizations that's the US government, Mt Gox payout, and GrayScale.
These 3 organizations are the ones causing the current market dump in price.

68  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CORRECT AND NOT ATTACK on: January 27, 2024, 11:52:07 PM
So many people hear about bitcointalk forum from friends, families, internet and so on they where not given the full details of the Dos and Don'ts (the rules of the forum) of the forum.
Even if this is what happens, they ought to know that every online forum has rules and regulations that are used to govern the ecosystem.
Assuming they are also not aware of it, they can easily ask a question about it if they actually want to learn and the issue will be solved rather than doing something that will affect their reputation.

69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bull Run within Q4 of 2024? on: January 27, 2024, 11:24:29 PM
No, it is not possible to know the exact time when the bull season of the cryptocurrency market will start but one thing is sure the Q1 of the market market is always filled with manipulation.
One sure thing and the time it will happen is the halving effect which will take place immediately once the Bitcoin block is halved.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What memecoins are you holding atm? on: January 27, 2024, 11:07:05 PM
Many of you know that memecoins are all the rage right now,
It really depends on your preferences, however, in my opinion, the whole cryptocurrency industry is rage right now rather than Memecoin.
I believe after the Spot ETF approval of BTC we should know by now the exact altcoin to invest in.

but with so many to choose from,
That's there's too much of them and they are playgrounds of the whales now to manipulate the market and enrich their purse.
71  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to buy BTC NOW? on: January 25, 2024, 09:37:42 PM
As you might know, the price of bitcoin reached its lower point since last month.

Should those who want to buy more do it now or do you believe we'll see the bitcoin price get down a little more?

Some here were talking about rumours of BTC being purchased from Saudi Arabia, but well, that's just a rumour.
But people tend to panic and sell, so this might be the best moment to buy as much btc as possible. What do you think?
Whenever there is panic in the market the best entry time and waiting for more opportunities to come could lead to missed opportunities due to the market volatility in nature and hard to predict sometimes.
What I can say now is that the market has changed from the previous market we have seen and the organization that filed for spot ETF will want to be the major player in the market to make the best out of whatever they do in the market always DCA every dip.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Prepare for the Next Dip before the Real Bull. on: January 24, 2024, 10:25:08 PM
The time to purchase has come again. Many can't buy because of the hike of price but it is coming down again for you to start your investment and there should be no excuse this time and this is a quick reminder to those who were procrastinating their investment plan because of the hike of price.
Interestingly, when market prices are high, many cryptocurrency investors say the prices are too high they hope the price will go down, but if the market goes down they don't have the confidence to buy because of the panic situation in the market.
Another sad thing is that when a market crashes, only a few people talk about the benefits it brings. So I admire you for bringing up this topic.

73  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Patience is power on: January 23, 2024, 07:39:11 PM
Even the most difficult dangers can be saved through patience.
No, patience only can't be saved through patience. The most difficult danger correction and solution means can only be seen through patience. There's still a need for good wisdom to fix the danger.
Therefore, even in the crypto market, knowledge, wisdom, and a thorough understanding of the market are still required; patience alone will not supply the power that is required.
74  Economy / Economics / Re: What class of an investor are you? on: January 22, 2024, 11:05:54 PM
According to my research, 90% of all newbies are victims of Ponzi investment especially the cloud mining investment which is also another trapped scamming activity.
I guess that majority of us when we were once newbies have became a victim of ponzis and cloud mining. If it's not for the forum, many won't learn these things are total scams.
Yes, this forum has helped me learn about a few key facets of the Bitcoin market and has also kept me informed about the updated tactics used by scammers.

Yes, right when you said it is important to understand how the Ponzi team works since they always come up with different scam strategies one after the other.
Sadly, today there are still a lot of people that becomes a victim of these schemes. And those type of investors that never learn from their experience keeps on hope that someday they might hit a real project that pays them out of doing nothing. Well, it's possible with staking but they choose the other path of going with these ponzis.
I believe a lot of the people who are still the victims of the so-called scammer are the people who ignore the (dyor) doing your own research crypto slang because there's a lot of available information online now to learn about every project or crypto.

75  Other / Meta / Re: The effect the mixer ban has had on the forum. on: January 22, 2024, 10:35:11 PM
Bitcointalk is an original forum of Bitcoin and a birthplace of many other top projects where legends themselves were actively posting and what is altcoinstalks? By the way, I want to say that Bitcointalk was probably the only forum with signature campaign, are there any other forums like this one? Campaigns pay high rate today because this is the OG forum and has the highest traffic with a good SEO profile.
You say that if the traffic on altcoinstalks increases, so will increase the payrate but how is that going to happen? How will traffic grow on altcoinstalks? Explain me this part.
It has already grown since the ban of Mixers on Bitcointalk, with some of the forum's reputable members and many more having already transferred their accounts there. FYI, traffic to Bitcointalk increased when the signature campaign launched in 2011. Nobody expected Altcointalk to reach the level of Bitcointalk, but it is now on the right path to compete

The traffic of Bitcointalk don't only increased after the launch of signature campaign in 2011.
Mind you, Bitcoin is just 2years in 2011 and it's harr for an innovative digital monetary system to gain huge acknowledgment and that's what happened with this forum then. Another thing is that Bitcointalk backlink is more powerful than the forum in the subject and Bitcointalk it's also the number one in everything related with cryptocurrency if we're talking about forum.
Bitcointalk after 13 years has gained a huge number of backlinks for it to lose organic traffic, as the domain and the website aged, the search engines are giving it a, especially for any search engine keywords queries if one writer writes an article and that's the only subject in the internet and if some also write that unique subject here in Bitcointalk it will beat the other site even if it is written a year ahead, what subject Bitcointalk tackles it always landed in the first page and that's where generic traffic happens, as long as you are in the first two pages of the keyword you get organic traffic.
Study shows that Searches never get past three pages in their queries.
'
Let's take off the forum thread author creating some keyword queries.
There's still no way the forum will have the chance to compete with Bitcointalk in terms of organic traffic because the forum lacks quality UI/UX and it's somehow complicated and not easy to use when navigating some thread, or section to another.

76  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2024 price prediction on: January 22, 2024, 10:07:39 PM
There is no doubt that we may see some sort of market corrects and fluctuations but TBH $20k looks bit scary though we were trading at $20k last year. Incase if Bitcoin down down to $20k or less, forget about $20k even if Bitcoin goes below $30k it would create chaos in the market as many would be panic selling and that's the time we need to capitalize and buy more for the expected bull run of 2025 where we are expecting Bitcoin to achieve new ATH, possibly breaching the $100k landmark.

We cannot say that it is impossible for bitcoin to go down to 20k$ because every coin will face dumps and pumps but as halving is near and market is going to increase in worth then I think that now it will go above from the current price of 41k$ but will not go down to 20k$. Now the time is to achieve the target of 70k$ to 100k$ so halving will turn lower worth to higher worth and we will easily get good revenue from it.

But if unfortunately such situations occurs as according to crypto nature everything can take place and a coin can fluctuates rapidly then we should be mentally prepared for such duration and should accumulate more money to buy more bitcoin when the price is at 20k$.
Every coin will face a dump but Bitcoin is not every coin and the season of its price down trending to the $20K is over. Besides, I don't see it happening in the next 2 years but this may happen when is the blood bath market due to the advantage of buying which GrayScale, Fidelity, and others will want to get before the year 2028 halving.
Nothing is impossible but some things can't happen for sure. You can verify what I said through the market greed level.

We cannot predict prices with certainty, but at least we can predict prices for the next year by summarizing several recent market events. We know that the current market has experienced a high correction within a week, but we cannot be pessimistic because we think the market will bleed after the halving. There are several indicators. indicates the bear market will end soon after the halving and I remain optimistic that the crypto market will reach ATH this year.
Speaking honestly, let's estimate prices.
There are some seasons when the market price uptrend is certain which we call the halving effect. The market's actual price can't be predicted but the market uptrend movement can be predicted.
The current market doesn't experience a high correction. On the 11th of this month, the price of BTC was $47K before it downtrend to $40K last week and you consider that to be a high correction?
77  Economy / Economics / Re: What class of an investor are you? on: January 21, 2024, 11:47:28 PM
In every innovative investment scheme novice/beginner investors always learn in some ways but turning their mistakes into experiences just as you did is something important that some never have the privilege to do. I am also a research investor.

Back to puloweh555 statement, novice investors don't join the Ponzi investment because of easy fast registration, they mainly join because of the earning benefit ROI.
Beginner investors who still need more experience and research in certain fields can also be trapped in Ponzi investments if these novice investors do not know what Ponzi investments are. Because if someone can be more easily tempted by ROI profits, of course they can also more easily experience traps in a bad direction, especially if this is already known by people who like to make ponzis and scams through any investment sector. So it is very important to understand it and get to know it well before novice investors actually invest like other people.
According to my research, 90% of all newbies are victims of Ponzi investment especially the cloud mining investment which is also another trapped scamming activity.
Yes, right when you said it is important to understand how the Ponzi team works since they always come up with different scam strategies one after the other.
78  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't be deceived!! on: January 20, 2024, 11:00:26 PM
Any altcoiners that are yet to understand that most created shitcoin especially the meme coin is created to enrich the team purse and also provide them the benefit they missed from Bitcoin since they join early. The sad thing is that the team involved in the project always sold their bag and held it in Bitcoin because they also understood is the only true cryptocurrency that's always the reason behind the exponential dip of most released altcoins.
79  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How diverse is your crypto portfolio? on: January 20, 2024, 10:39:49 PM
if you are thinking of diversifying your portfolio and have a good amount to invest in crypto currency. So, in my opinion, you should invest 90% of your amount in bitcoin and the remaining 10% you should invest in Altcoin. Bitcoin has less risk on your investment and altcoins have high risk on you investment that why suggesting to invest big cap in bitcoin and less cap in altcoin

while investing in altcoins try to diversify you remaining 10% in different altcoins because if one will not perfome well anothe rwill perfome well and retun you a good amount of profit. DYOR
Diversification of a cryptocurrency portfolio is not about having a good fund for investment. I believe what is important before any crypto enthusiast will think about diversification is to first have the knowledge and capacity to manage two, or more cryptos.
If have good capital and don't have the right knowledge, the portfolio will collapse.
