The Error re: 1 oz Gold-Select Rainbow coins

During the gold-select plating process the rainbow color was obscured. Some ghost-like elements can be seen in certain areas of the original rainbow. This is considered an error because it was unintentional and did not come out to specification or expectation. All of the coins were affected to my knowledge.

The Error Certificate

The coin’s error certificate will be entitled the “DOUBLE RAINBOW ERROR COIN” given that the original rainbow was interfered with during the gold-select production. In some cases it is still somewhat visible in a ghost-like way and will have some varying rainbow elements retroactively put on to the coins. The mint will sign off on this error certificate and will be provided to all orders of Rainbow Gold-Select coins in addition to the certificate already produced for these coins. All rainbow gold-select coins will come with TWO certificates.

Q: Why is it called a double rainbow error coin?
A: Because the rainbow effect had to be added to the coins twice (once before gold-select plating and once after, retroactively).

Retroactive Rainbow (Front & Back)

Unbeknownst to me initially, I was able to find a method by pure accident (with a little bit of experimentation) to retroactively add the rainbow on to the surface of the coins. There may be some alignment issues, as no coin is perfect. Each coin may have the original rainbow effect somewhat seen in a ghost like manner (no rainbow color is shown), as well as the 2nd rainbow retroactively added to the front and back areas.

Timeline

In order for me to retroactively get the rainbow back on to each coin’s surfaces, I will need approximately 7-9 days to do this process.

On top of the 7-9 days for retroactive rainbow addition, I will need about 4 days to get the “double rainbow error” certificates generated, printed, cut, approved by the mint, etc.

The work I normally do on the coins will take about 7 days.

Total time will be to get them to USPS will be 18-20 days. (~ February 27th - March 1st).

This is my target ship date, or sooner for orders with the rainbow gold-select 1 oz versions.

Regular Gold-Select coins

The regular Gold-Select coin types have arrived also, they look pretty much identical to the rainbow error versions. You can tell the difference between the two as the regular Gold-select does not have any additional textures (i.e. ghosting) on the back (i.e. reverse) of the coin.

Assuming you have no other pending orders that have rainbow gold-select coins, the regular gold-select coins will ship be able to be shipped in 10-14 days from now.

What I need from customers who ordered gold-select rainbow 1 oz coins:

I will be messaging all customers with a link to this post to get the following information from you regarding your order:

** If you are reading this please send me a PM or email with the answer to the following items below:

1. Do you want the “ERROR” text laser etched on to your gold-select rainbow coin’s holo?
Note - it will be an all or nothing situation. Either all of them have "ERROR" on them or none of them do.

2. Do you want an error certificate?

3. Do you want the tribal rainbow design on the back of the gold-select rainbow 1 oz coin? If not, it will be left as is with no retroactive rainbow color other than the address, serial #, and "LEALANA" text.

3. Are you funding the coins or not? (i.e. "BUYER FUNDED" marked hologram for unfunded coins)

4. Please send me a confirmation message/PM/email of your FULL shipping address in case I don’t already have it.

5. Please include your REAL first and last name for shipping purposes. First and Last name is required for shipments as you will be required to show ID to sign and receive the package.

I will be contacting customer over the weekend or early next week to point them to this list of information I need.

Update:

Will be making a comprehensive post on the 1 oz gold-select rainbow coins in the next 48 hours with pix, info, etc.

These 1 oz coins were also affected similarly to the 1/10th oz gold-select rainbow coins that are an error.

Is this just the 1/10s rainbow gold selects or will it be like that on the 1 oz version as well?

Edit: upon further review and checking my messages - I ordered regular gold select 1 oz coins so I’m good there.

Both 1 oz and 1/10th oz rainbow gold selects were affected.

Is the "ERROR" on the finish? How many have Errors?* My vote is for the holo to say Error....not many say that, and let's face it, errors have been made over the years, multiple makers with no indications of that fact, directly on the coins. Should increase the values of them, I would guess.  **ERROR on the holograms, my vote.   Smiley

*** Won't hurt the value of Smooth's stuff, been doing Top Shelf work for years. Can't control the Mint's goof, production error. And most of us would like to get these little gems in our hot little hands, hubba hubba chop chop.  Cheesy

The error is on the finish yes as the rainbow got obscured during the gold-select process.

Noted on the holo saying error. Will make another post with all the details on the COA, error, etc given how much of an adventure this process has been!

I’d def take all the ones in the coins I bought in this release as “error” coins. Never hurts to have a good COA certified lealana error coin!

Okay sounds good! I'll make an update in the next 24-48 hours outlining in as much detail as I can on the coins, the errors, etc.

I’d def take all the ones in the coins I bought in this release as “error” coins. Never hurts to have a good COA certified lealana error coin!

You want mine? Seriously… I’d rather have a refund on my rainbow gold select 1/10 honestly.  I don’t want a coin that’s an error bc it looks like shit.  That or sub me out for a non-rainbow please!

This coin will be auctioned in the "charity auction" for the cold key scam victims (i.e. cold scam).

What Yoda is trying to say - some collectors want beautiful rainbow coins as they want to keep them in their collection and display them. Others - may enjoy being able to use the “error” label to price them a little higher on their flips. Some may enjoy both. I’m just hopeful the 1 oz coin looks better as I am jealous of how great the full gold plated rainbow ones look. Ahhhh the joys of pre sales

Yeah pre sales and trailblazers sometimes go hand-in-hand. Experimentation is good when you push the boundaries of what other's have only scratched the surface on.

Appreciate the insight PreviousMetaps.

Yeah, have your vendor re-do those, offer a substitution of another style or refund me.  That gold select rainbow looks soooo bad.  Surely this isn’t something you want your customers to receive.

I gotta admit... you outdid yourself on the slogan on the back LOL

Mark mine with that slogan & I'll take one of the shit coins!

Sorry but this coin may be one of a kind. Haven't decided just yet.  Tongue

Update on 1/10th gold select silver rainbow coins:

Pix below:

Based on the pictures I received most of the rainbow elements are not visible on the RAINBOW gold select coin type. After speaking with my vendor over the phone about it they believe that the gold-select process they used for plating conflicted with the rainbow elements of the coins. Once I obtain the coins in my possession I will confirm if this is actually the case.

Some elements came through but as far as I can tell most of, if not all of, the rainbow elements does not appear visibly. I'm unable to get the rainbow elements on to the coins retroactively given the process requires them to be done at the early stages of the overall minting process on top of the fact that the gold-select process has undone the rainbow effects. This is out of my control for the time being until I can find a reliable solution for any future products to have this effect with gold-select type coins.

This was my first attempt at doing a gold select rainbow silver coin for Lealana. In essence it was somewhat experimental given it was going to be the first of its kind in my experience. Some things go to plan and some things don’t when trying out new features. In this specific case it appears the end result of this coin type did not come out how I had envisioned.

This coin is going to be considered an “ERROR” coin. The mint I am using will be signing off on a Certificate of Authenticity that confirms this.

My plan for this coin type is to create a certificate of authenticity that compliments the original COA made for the gold select rainbow coins. This coin type will come with TWO COAs (the original LEALANA one, and the ERROR one).

Im considering adding the word “ERROR” on to the coin in a permanent way on the front AND/OR on the hologram. I’ll be consulting each customer to see if they want this marking or if they don’t. Both cases will be allowed but I would advise all customers to determine that this either be an all or nothing type decision (either all of your coins of this type have these markings, or none of them do). This is all assuming that the permanent marking on the coin surface doesn’t have any unintended side effects.

I should have the coins in my possession by Wednesday next week. They are in transit as of today to me.

Coin shipments will occur soon after I’m able to finish my portion of work after I receive them.

This effort is no longer accepting donations of items.

If you have an item you would wanted to donate but didn't just start another auction/sales thread and feel free to donate the proceeds.

Good contacts for the donation process would be Minerjones and MoparminingLLC.

Any interest?

Initially I didnt add it to the list as I wasn't sure how you wanted them auctioned.

Now I see your message. Will add them to the list as a single lot for now.

Sorry about the delay.

Now that the donation period has been completed I will be organizing FOUR separate auctions with multiple lots that will run for approximately 3-6 days in length and be in succession (one after another is completed).

I will post the general details for these FOUR auctions once I've ironed out all the details.

MJ and Mopar (or both of you) please contact me to provide a BTC payment address for the auction proceeds to be sent to after each auction.

It has been an honor to help where I can and I would really like to thank all of the donators for their kind contributions to the auction list.

Aloha

So heres the latest. I did receive a text this am and he has followed up via email. I need to make sure its 100 percent legit before I fall for a scam.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out regarding your coins.  With the website currently down for rehabilitation, all coin redemption is being performed manually.

Manual coin redemption requires additional verification in order to ensure that we send a coin's BTC to the current rightful owner.  We appreciate your patience with this process, as it has been created to hopefully eliminate the possibility for fraudulent coin redemption.

The steps for manual redemption need to be followed in the order below for us to proceed:

Step 1. Provide Photo authentication that meets the following criteria
A.) The hologram side of the coin must be facing the camera.  Either the coin ID or the redemption code that is beneath the hologram must be legible.
B.) The hologram must be peeled, and the security pattern that appears when the hologram has been peeled must be visible in the photo.
C.) A photo ID of the current owner of the coin, with enough detail to verify name and address, must be visible in the photo.
D.) The current date must be handwritten on a piece of paper that is visible in the photo (i.e. "January 1, 2023").

You may include multiple coins in one photo as long as all the information requested above is clearly visible and legible.  Software is used to verify the photo's authenticity and identify any possible tampering.  Photos that have been edited, compressed, or are blurry or unclear in any way will not pass this verification.  We will notify you if additional photos are needed.

Step 2: Provide the BTC address and coin owner's residential address info
We will ask you to sign an agreement verifying that the redemption information is correct before making the transfer of BTC to your address.  This agreement will include the BTC address that your coin's value will be transferred to, as well as the residential address of the coin's current owner.  Please provide this information as text in a reply to this email.

Step 3: Reply to the email that was sent to the coin's registration address
We will send an email to the address that is on file for the coin's registration asking for authorization to redeem.  Please simply reply to that email with a confirmation that redemption is authorized.

Step 4: Sign the redemption agreement
We will fill in your bitcoin address and residential address and send you an agreement to sign which indicates that you agree to the terms of the manual coin redemption process.  As soon as that agreement is signed, your BTC can be transferred to your designated address.  This will be an e-signature unless you request to have a paper copy mailed to you.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this process, please reply to this email and we'll work to respond as quickly as possible.  Thank you again for your patience.

Thanks RealHummer for the update. Hope you are able to get your issue resolved with Titan.

Just curious,

Why is this not being posted by Tim himself on bitcointalk.org and that this is being posted by a 3rd party after such a long absence when Titan customers have been trying to reach out to obtain help in redeeming the 2FA coins that require TitanBTC's systems to be in working order?

Moreso, if legit, why is this not posted on the front page of titanbtc.com?

Q: Why were customer funds moved without making them aware of this? Why did it take a random user checking their balance to notify the forum community after almost 3 months of customer funds being moved?

Q: If Titan (Tim) could move the 2FA coin funds, why did he not just do this proposed process above and provide the customer with the proper information to move the funds themselves? This makes no sense.

The idea of requiring someone to send photos of specific coin information and personal information in an unencrypted manner that (may/could) expose someone to being scammed doesn't sound like the brightest idea.
