721  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 1BTC Casascius Silver Round /w Gold B - GOLD HEART ERROR COIN - VERY RARE! on: October 19, 2016, 01:09:20 AM
Not worth the time and money. It would be very funny for these 'error' coins to suddenly start popping up. With questionable quality. So while yes someone could do it, it's unlikely. If there was one out there with an error like this or more it would of made its way to the public eye by now.

Not to say that yours was done this way, but thats not really true. I hadn't thought about it before, but I could electroplate any shapes someone wanted on a coin for less than $20. You just need a couple of acids, a bit of gold, a battery, and plastic wrap with whatever shape you want to be plated cut into it.

That said, that comparison is like saying collectors coins with flaws are worthless because someone could get an unflawed coin and replicate the flaw themselves. Things that are messed up straight from the mint tend to have a higher value with collectors.

A perfect example is the XMR coins I got minted that were reversed in the original design. The mint gladly wrote a letter, signed it by all parties to indicate it was indeed a minting error. All of the proper documentation is there to prove the errors in the coins.

Agreed, minting errors tend to carry much more weight. Gold plating could be faked (not saying this one is or isn't).
722  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 1BTC Casascius Silver Round /w Gold B - GOLD HEART ERROR COIN - VERY RARE! on: October 19, 2016, 01:07:28 AM
Couldn't someone just take a Casascius and send it to a gold plating company and have it gold plated the same shape or symbol for a decent fee?
Yes. Or to quote casascius on that matter:
"Someone could have done it themselves. I didn't do this deliberately if it came from me"

I was not aware Mike said this, so then how would one know for sure that the "heart" was indeed legitimately from a batch of coins that Mike sold and had gone through him with that gold heart "error"?

I remember there being some discussion directly with Mike about this. I can't remember what the conversation ended with regarding the gold heart.

As I've said someone could easily pay a small fee and have the same mark on their casascius coin or another error mark of their choosing and call it an error.

I'm no expert on the history of this specific coin, but one should question the legitimacy of such a coin and what that cost should be to determine a fair market price for it.

It doesn't cost much. Perhaps you should look into the cost of doing such a task prior to saying it's "not worth the time and money" to do so given the premium you are asking is more than $20-$50 above what a casascius 1 BTC silver coin costs at market price. You are asking at least $1000 higher than a normal 1 btc casascius silver with gold BTC sells for.

People will do with their money what they want, not stopping them of course. Just stating the obvious about cost vs price.

Good luck with your sale.

725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 18, 2016, 11:09:19 PM
I am calling a bottom at 8888.

- Just feels like that
- Dip below 0.01 was defended with reasonable volume and bounced back above
- Hammer in daily yesterday (albeit red)
- In accordance with everything I said since the pump started
- Lucky number.

Reasonable strategy is to not play FOMO. It aint goin higher. Buy methodically especially on dips. Stop-loss at 8888 if on margin.

For the price to go lower, it requires that someone is willing to sell. Selling is not rational any more, buying is.

To me these 2 quotes seem to contradict each other.  First quote says it's not going higher and the second one I read to be that the only way it is going is up.  rpietilla would you please clarify.  Thank you.

Several people that I respect have just said that the price will be basically horizontal for the next several months.  I'm more in line with rpietilla's second quote.  Ofc there is great uncertainty from uncontrollable events.  I did buy some yesterday at < 0.01 but mostly I will continue to hold and drink tea.

In other news:  Total time logged in: 100 days, 36 minutes.

I interpreted it as it isn't going up in a FOMO fashion...it can go up though, just not as it has in the recent spike.

here is my modest speculation of what will happen through March 2017-sh.

I would love to do a side-by-side comparison to the actual chart once march 2017 hits. I encourage others to do the same and see what our speculation(s) are and how they then compare months down the road. Just for fun.  Grin

@Bears please prove me wrong and make the prices go lower than my drawn lines below.

@Bulls please prove me wrong and make the prices go higher than lines I've specified.

728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Apple and DASH on: October 18, 2016, 07:06:21 PM
Too bad Monero has just as tainted instamine history as Dash. At least Dash fully acknowledge its instamine history,
where as Monero does everything it can to avoid bringing up its own crippled miner history.

Good luck trying to find a clean project when every cryptocurrency out there has its own growing-up pains, even
Bitcoin has its own instamine problem with over a million of bitcoins in the hands of one person or group (Satoshi).
It doesn't prevent people from actually using it, now does it ....

If a cryptocurrency turns out to be usefull it will have value and people will use it, regardless of what petty trolls
post in forums such as these.

You can have your own opinion, but you don't get too have your own set of facts.

Yes, the publicly available CPU miner available on release wasn't optimized, or more likely intentionally deoptimized, but after several weeks an optimized version was released, during which time only a few percent, I think around 3℅ of the total supply before tail emission starts was mined.

Dash instamine is like 33% of current supply that happened in a few hours. 3% is not just as tainted as 33%.

Also, Monero went on to add a tail emission and perpetual inflation, while dash went on to drastically reduce emission and implement a quasi-PoS system that would enrich large holders.

It appears qwizzie does not know how to accurately compare things.  Cheesy

3 != 33

weeks != hours

hmm would I rather have something that had an emission of

3% of total supply over weeks

OR

33% of total supply in hours

?

How can we knew if we are eligible to this giveaway? Do you have spreadsheet or list for those who got approve to get that coin? So we may know that we have an good item to wait Smiley.

Assuming your address is ship-able via USPS first class mail then you should "qualify".

I have not qualifications other than I'm not shipping multiple coins to a single address/user and also that you have an address that can accept USPS first class shipments.

And no I do not have a spreadsheet or public list for those that requested a coin, nor will I publish a list for privacy purposes of those individuals sending me their information.

Oh on some other thoughs its really better to not post that on public really, thats a confidential info even email is not good to post on my bad, and by the way how can we know that our country have USPS first class shipment? I want to look up if my country have that kind of shipment class, and lastly how much is the cost per coin? Thats all my question sorry for my inquiry Smiley.

Go to USPS.com and attempt to get a price for a shipment from any U.S. Zip code to your country via first class mail envelope.

The package should not weigh more than 1oz

How is your joint venture with the admin of Alphabay, my friend? Everything working well? When are you planning to cash out?

Looks like someone has cashed out and left a lot of bagholders. But hey, who listens to BadAss.Sx....i was the dick here, isn't?

#Learn2Grammar

As seen below, you went from one unsubstantiated claim to another...

FIRST talking about exploits

then

SECOND talking about joint ventures

Monero is badly written...JC ONLY founded 12 exploits and believe me, there are more Smiley you think your viewkey is save now? That you are the one who has access to it?

NSA loves the story that XMR will be the darknet money hahaha....enjoy your drug buys boys

If there have been exploits found, please exploit them and then post about it here.

Otherwise your claim is bullshit.

How is your joint venture with the admin of Alphabay, my friend? Everything working well? When are you planning to cash out?

Okay so this is how you do things:

1. Make unsubstantiated claims
2. Get called out for proof of said claims
3. Deflect by trying to associate person asking you to clarify your claims with Alphabay.

LOL good job buddy, you don't need anyone to help you look foolish, you already are great at it on your own.  Grin

Keep dancing, it is entertaining.  Smiley

I will work to try to get them out ASAP, but no promises as to when exactly.

They will ship, when they ship.

Thank You!
Regards,
BitcoinExpart

I have one  question, How can we knewn that we are eligible to this giveaway? OR Not?

If your address is able to receive USPS first class mail shipments. That's how you know.
739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [FREE] Monero Brass Coin Giveaway on: October 18, 2016, 04:18:29 AM
Before I send you email requesting for give away, can you please confirm if you can ship it to India as well?

You can confirm this yourself by going to USPS.com and attempting to ship a package from any zipcode in US to India. Let me know how it goes by going through their site to confirm this.

I have no time to confirm who can and can't receive coins, this is a giveaway and it will be time consuming enough just to get everything packed, labels made, and shipping them out.
