61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will Bitcoin look like in the future? on: June 19, 2024, 01:32:02 PM
Like I said, Whitney Webb and Edward Snowden say some scary stuff about the possible future of Bitcoin, mostly about loss of privacy (and thus, indirect government control and surveillance).
the possibility of the future may or may not happen. so for now just enjoy your life with the Bitcoins you have (if you have them).
actually, there is no need to be afraid of anything that will happen in the future. the reality is that currently, many people are benefiting from Bitcoin. Its users are increasing and its popularity is increasing. Maybe some beginners are afraid it will make them panic. and that's what frustrates many novice investors.

No one really holds what will be the future of bitcoin, or it won’t have any brighter future instead. So I have to agree with you that we should not dwell so much with the future of bitcoin but focus and enjoy what we have at the present. If it’s going to live for another decade, that would be a lot better, but if it’s not, then we have no choice but to accept the reality that bitcoin is just only good for a single decade. What’s more important is that bitcoin has provided us a lot of benefits at the present, and we are very grateful for it. But when it comes to its future, that will remain uncertain for all of us here.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 17, 2024, 01:44:31 PM

Let's see, Inoue seems to be pushing for greatness as well and maybe if Tank is willing to stay at 135 lbs and then waits for Inoue to go up in weight. Maybe this kind of hypothetical fight is going to happen.
But the question is how long Tank Davis will have to wait for it and whether he will really be willing to do all that, at his current weight Tank Davis has achieved many great achievements and holding on will also not bring satisfaction in his career.
There is possibility that Tank Davis will move up in weight and fight up class to fight for another title, but who knows whether Tank Davis will remain the same as his previous his stance or decide to try to meet Inoue in the future.
What is clear is that both of them are currently the best fighters in their respective classes and they will move up in class to be able to hunt for more championship titles, at their current age, Inoue and Tank Davis have bright future by collecting more wins and holding several other titles.

It just that if they actually meet I will make Tank Davis the favorite in their fight because obviously Tank Davis is much more used to the weight that Inoue will be aiming for.

Davis is one of the best fighters in the world, but Inoue is currently the best fighter in Japan. As long as Inoue continues fighting in Japan, he won't achieve the same level of popularity that Davis enjoys. Although he is currently the top pound-for-pound boxer according to records, he will not be in the Hall of Fame if he doesn't take bigger risks and push his limits.

Tank Davis could move up in weight, but he might end up like Pacquiao due to his height. Honestly, I don't see him being better than Pacquiao in his prime, so he might not move up much and will just stay in his comfort zone.
63  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: June 17, 2024, 12:54:37 PM
3.15 odds for the Dallas Mavericks and this is going to be either the last ride or continuous ride for this finals. But I've been with them since the game 1 so I'll still going to go with them, win or lose!!!
Good luck, it's now or never... Grin

I'm also on the same side but it's Dallas + handicap. Not that I don't trust them, but my trust is not 100%, lol. so if they could cover that and loss, that's fine with me but it would better if they'll win.

And aside from that, I've also bet for the under 208.5 total score including over time. Last I've won the under 209.5 with 2.11 odds. This time, it is 2.03. So, more favorable odds for the Dallas Mavericks and I don't mind and hoping that they'll still continue the series.

This could go either way, I mean if Dallas will with good offense, the game may go over but I could be wrong, so let the lucky better wins.

I had Dallas over 102.5 by the way.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you set a specific bankroll before gambling or not? on: June 17, 2024, 07:27:33 AM
In my opinion, a fairly good bankroll limit for a series of games per week is the figure of 3-4% of weekly income. Most often this is a relatively small number that will allow you to have fun, satisfy your gambling instincts, but will not allow you to lose too much money. Yes, I choose to set bankroll limits before playing. It's a lot like learning to fly an airplane before you get on it. Risk always requires a responsible attitude.
If you have a big weekly income, you'll be able to raise a good amount of bankroll. So, how about bankroll management? What percentage do you use per wager? For me, it's important to have an amount as my goal for winning and then set up a bankroll that is realistic enough to achieve it with a certain winning rate.

Let's say my goal is to win $1000. I would set 50% of that, which is $500, as my bankroll. When I turn my money into $1500, that could be it. I'll consider my sports betting journey a success. It's really important to know when to stop, as gambling every day or all the time is not living a balanced lifestyle.
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MyGPT to Pick Winners of MMA/Boxing fights on: June 17, 2024, 06:31:03 AM
That information is necessary to come up with a good decision from your analysis. We can try that if it really helps improve our chances of winning. We gamble to win, so we use every tool that is helpful. With the advent of ChatGPT, getting information is easier and more reliable, so I guess I'll check it out.

However, is it true that it's only useful for MMA or boxing? How about other sports like basketball?

BTW, I would love to see if someone here in the forum would make an experiment on his actual betting using the tool, let's see how it turns out.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting - How to determine if the line is a trap? on: June 17, 2024, 05:49:29 AM
If a team has good chances to win but the odds placed on the opponent are giving out a low multiplier for your bet than expected, then I think this type of match is worth a look.
I'd say it's not that hard to figure this one out, but really it's something very often overlooked. People will go on to bet on their favorite team usually regardless of odds and won't even do much to adjust their bet size. A smart gambler would adjust his bets based on how risky a certain bet is. However betting blindly will just result in having no advantage and leaving things mostly to luck.

Surely you won't be able to change the outcomes, but by looking at the odds and choosing which bets are more worth than others you're making a choice that in the long term will help achieve better results in terms of performance. Really it's mostly about avoiding certain bets that have bad odds.

As explained in the OP.

here ; https://www.thegistsports.com/faq/sports-betting/

Quote
What’s a betting line?
A line actually refers to the point spread, or the specific number of points the sportsbook uses to determine the odds between an underdog and a favorite. The line is the margin between those two outcomes.

So that says it's not the betting odds which is known as moneyline when betting on a team to win straight up. We are discussing about the "point spread" here, it's the + - of the game which is harder to predict than just predicting the winner of the game.
67  Economy / Speculation / Re: The BTC stability on: June 16, 2024, 09:45:52 PM
Even though Bitcoin is volatile it can give you profit in large scale but you need to be aware of the risk level which is the right time to buy. By continuously managing towards you can accumulate bitcoins and get it to a point for a long time.
The key benchmark for not losing or making a profit with Bitcoin is only one thing, namely not selling it in conditions that could make us lose money as buyers. This means that if we buy Bitcoin at a certain price or say during a price correction moment, of course we also have to remember that the benchmark price is the point where our capital is used up. So if one day we are faced with the choice to sell it, of course we have to be able to sell it above that price so that we don't suffer a loss because we once owned Bitcoin. Simple enough, right?
If you follow the basic buy low and sell high, you will definitely be in constant profits. Seems quite easy but certainly hard for those who aren’t patient enough. While bitcoin holding is the key for great profits, but only those who are patient and persistent on their goal would make it possible, the rest are just good for short term profitability as they are more than greedy than being patient.
68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: June 16, 2024, 01:44:43 PM
I didn't think Dallas could win. The series 3-1. I don't think Dallas can turn this series around. Boston can win the championship in Game 5. I think they will.
Good luck to you but I'm riding with Dallas chances here to make a history too by being the only team to come back from 0-3 deficit in the history of NBA.
Maybe 1%, but man, you can't blame me,  love to see more action from this series and it would be disappointing if the series will end soon.
Honestly, I'm just betting with my heart as I know how dangerous the Celtics on their home court and I know they'll not allow Dallas to win another game as they'll be so pressure in game 7 if that will happen.

Kyrie Irving; We will make history, I can't wait to make history.
He knows that the probability of this is very low, but they want to use that probability.
He is vocal with that, I think I should trust him. he hasn't had a good game in Boston yet, maybe he'll start in game 5.
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tank Davis Vs Frank Martin WBA Lightweight Title June 22 HoustonTexas on: June 16, 2024, 10:55:24 AM
Tank Davis got the impressive knockout in the 8th round and retained his email belt. As good as this might look on highlight reels, I’m not sure it can be considered such a great win. Frank Martin is a good athlete, but his boxing skills are very limited and he didn’t have the experience needed to prepare him for Tank. I am ready to see if Tank is more than just hype. He is almost 30, it’s time to fight Loma and Shakur, not just take shots on social media.

Talk about upset, it didn't happen here, Martin is no match to the boxing IQ of Tank Davis, he just methodically break him down, hitting in the body in the first 3 rounds to soften up Martin and then goes head hunting.

And even if we call Tank paper champion which I do agree, there's still boxers that he need to face next in this division, Shakur and then Loma. That will really set his greatness if he will beat that two name in a spectacular fashion as well.

Adjustments during the fight, that's what Tank Davis did. I believe if that knockout didn't happen, there's a chance that he'll loss as Martin was able to fight well and getting some points. However, Tank Davis really would not settle for the scores only, he wants to continue his win streak via KO/TKO and he did it again. I can say that he really have a powerful punches. Now, what going to be next for him? are we gonna see a possible match with Inoue vs Davis?
70  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: June 16, 2024, 09:51:36 AM
...For the last time, I will be betting on Dallas moneyline as they'll be back at home and they can't go down 0-3 as it's close to over.

Updated record 22(W)-27(L)..... 45%

Thought it will be the last time, but since Dallas won game 4, I'll continue betting. Dallas is still may bet this game 5 and I will be betting on the handicap with +6.5.. I don't want this series to end in game 5, so I'm backing Dallas to make this a very exciting series, hopefully it will reach game 7.

On the total points, it should be over if Dallas will dictate the pace but Celtics should be scoring at least 100 points.
71  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Understanding cryptocurrency on: June 15, 2024, 09:34:46 PM
In everything there is always a beginner, in political way there are beginner even in the crypto world 🌍 we still have a beginner, so as a beginners in crypto you should know how it works first before you get into it, there was a guy complaining that he lost in trading crypto, and he is telling some of he's friend not to go into crypto just because he lost and he didn't follow the signal, I just want to say that you need to understand how it works first before you start, thank you.
Want your money to be safe, don't trade in crypto. Choose Bitcoin and invest in the long term.
Trading is not an easy activity because it requires more than enough knowledge, not just just knowing how.
A beginner will turn into a professional in trading if he is willing to study diligently.
With so many cryptocurrencies out there, it's natural for people to get confused. Just Bitcoin because there's only one coin so it's not confusing.

Understanding cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin is the answer because Bitcoin is an electronic currency that does not end in fraud. If you come across someone who explains how they had bad results and forbade us from entering, it's because they don't choose Bitcoin. People who choose Bitcoin will not be defeated or disappointed.
Those who have entered trading and only gain huge losses, it only proves that they are not capable enough to trade and expect profits. Even if they trade using bitcoin, the fact that they don’t have potentials to trade and have no skills and working strategies that will help them to trade in such an unpredictable market, they will never end a trade successful and profitable. Bitcoin is just a tool, not a guarantee to gain success in trading.
72  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Accepting Crypto Salaries Worth It? on: June 15, 2024, 07:45:27 PM
It is worth it but still optional for me, as I prefer to be paid in fiat money because it was still not acceptable in my place, so I no longer spend some fees in converting my crypto salary. This is one thing I put into consideration and I know this is a common problem for us knowing that many countries are not yet accepting cryptocurrencies.

I'm also looking forward to those company owners who had this in their mind and considered paying bitcoin to their employees. It is not impossible they will support this project and adapt to the changes. But yes, until it was not officially legal in a particular place that also gives a reason why this never happened.

If I'm not in here and not joining the signature campaign, I'm sure I couldn't experience receiving a crypto salary.
You’re right there, crypto salary creates an advantage but knowing it’s not yet widely accepted in all countries particularly in my country, so I’d rather prefer to receive fiat more than crypto as a salary. At least I know I can always decide to accumulate crypto when I wanted to knowing I have sufficient amount of fiat on my bank account. Crypto is a good investment and retirement, but for now I need more fiat than crypto to sustain my daily needs for survival.
73  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which casino would you trust more: one that requires KYC or one that doesn't? on: June 15, 2024, 02:58:23 PM
Since there are reputable gambling sites that don’t require KYC,  I will prefer to make use of them.

I don't know if there are still a few casinos that could pass this requirement. I tried to check, but the popular ones here already require KYC. Though not all of them require it right away, if you read their TOS, you'll see that KYC can be required. It's up to them when they'll initiate it. I believe it's not attractive to gamblers if they require KYC for every new signup, as it could discourage them.

Anyway, as long as we know from the start that they are a KYC casino, we should already expect that our account might be subject to KYC at any time. Since we choose to use them, we should be ready to comply anytime.
74  Economy / Economics / Re: True wealth comes from income when you sleeping but earning on: June 15, 2024, 02:03:21 PM
The great Warren Buffett said,  “If you don't find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die.”

He’s mostly right isn’t it. Try to create a passive income if possible.
True indeed. It’s best to still earn money while you sleep, than to keep on working in order to earn an amount. No one holds our future, if time comes that you’ll be incapable anymore to do physical jobs, then how would you create an income for survival. This is an important fact that one should not overlook, or else we will definitely won’t stop working until our last breath. Make sure that aside from your active income, you also have your other sources that can give you passive income, that way you will have a bright future ahead.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If this is doable what will you add or remove? on: June 15, 2024, 09:52:08 AM
I guess most would say they would find ways to reduce transaction fees, increase block sizes to speed up transaction processing...because those are the things that annoy bitcoin users the most. But I believe that the developers also see those problems but there must be a reason and until now they have not intervened or come up with any solution.
Absolutely all we can do is complain. We have no actual ability to solve these problems ourselves. It’s probably difficult to find ways to do what we ask for without compromising other features of bitcoin. Most especially its security. If making a solution so that transactions fees wouldn’t be so high anymore would require for bitcoin’s security and decentralization to be sacrificed then a lot more issues would come up.

Just hoping that one day we actually get some good balance between the two issues.
As much as we can see some flaws of bitcoin, I’m sure the developers themselves are also addressing the problem as well but the fact that until now it’s still not settled, then most likely there could be some barriers that block them from doing it. Whatever it is, it’s only them that can relate.

Bitcoin is currently good but I know there are still more to it that needs improvement. And the good thing is, at the end of the day, only us the bitcoin enthusiasts, investors and traders will be the one to benefit it the most.
76  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do the newbies gain the highily professional knowledge in the forum on: June 14, 2024, 08:59:37 PM
I have been across newbie ranks with great intellectual exploitation in the forum like they have been here for long now. What is the secret behind their knowledge on considering the high level of their contributions in the forum? Does it mean they have the knowledges before joining the forum? Or are they bot accounts?
I am just curious as a beginner. Thank you all.
Newbies can sometimes be new in the forum but not new already about bitcoin. They might be exposed with bitcoin before that’s why they were aware already on its own feature and how it should be utilized at its maximum level. But engaging in the forum despite of its rank or position has certainly add more new information and insights to his stock knowledge about bitcoin, the reason why it’s easy for them to come up with intelligent answers since bitcoin itself is not new anymore to them.
77  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do to get merit reward? on: June 14, 2024, 08:29:33 PM
Hello everyone, I have been here for a few weeks/months now but I'm yet to receive "merit" so I'm just worried, please can someone tell me what I will need to do or how long I will need to be here for before I get merit and other rewards?
Getting merits is not measured by time, but its on how you learned throughout your learning experience. The longer you spend time learning in the forum, the bigger the chances you will gain a lot of knowledge and even skills, with that getting merits might be able to develop along with your learning experience.

I suggest just be active on a daily basis. Be updated on the what is currently happening in the forum as well as the  present issues that are hot topics in the forum. If you can share useful and relevant information that will be of great benefit to others, that will be the best time you will gain and earn merits from the different merit sources.
78  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: crypto is actually the future on: June 14, 2024, 12:55:44 PM
Many people join business or different jobs to succeed in future life. But I think apart from these, cryptocurrency is currently a sector that will take you very fast in the future  If you look at Bitcoin in crypto currency you will see that the price of Bitcoin is currently very high and has become as valuable as a gold, Bitcoin is likely to reach $100k by the end of next year or year. Look, no one is being forced here, it's their personal matter who to do or not, but I personally think Bitcoin investing should be a right venture in life, it's moving many people forward.
Bitcoin has certainly an edge over other investments, that is why it’s never surprising why bitcoin investment has take the lead when it comes to highly successful and profitable investment, something that others are still blind of it the reason why until now they are left behind with the type of investment they prioritize. Most especially if you end up accumulating a maximum amount, surely bitcoin will definitely take you very fast with your future goals.
79  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: June 14, 2024, 11:36:33 AM
My heart wants to take the Mavs today, but the Celtics' match-winner odds are too good to be this high. Still, I don't mind if the Mavs win today since I prefer this final to go all the way.

Nice steal getting those high odds. In my bookie now, it's already 1.92, so you getting that extra is better than the current odds. Well, I guess you are right with your pick. It's pretty obvious that the Celtics are the better team now. Dallas had their chances but failed big time. So, it's okay not to follow your heart, as that's the right bet. Even if you were wrong, I'm sure you'd still get the Celtics in game 5.

By the way, duelbits got some mega boost for  Celtics to win 6-10 points, that's currently 7.50 from 5.50.
80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: June 14, 2024, 10:46:53 AM
However, it is not that far fetched, they didn't give Curry his first FMVP, not even to Klay or Draymond, that year they gave it to Iggy, that's basically like giving it to Horford this season, there is literally no difference. That's why FMVP doesn't really mean much to me, it is just a rigged thing that nobody should care.

Well you can argue about Michael Jordan not deserving of his 6 finals MVP? And with that, I don't think it is rigged or somewhat some entities are trying to manipulate the outcome of the FMVP in my honest.

We sometimes call it rigged when the result does not align with our expectations. Honestly, determining this Finals MVP from the Celtics is quite challenging. I think we are down to one last game. If the Celtics sweep Dallas, the player with the bigger contributions in game 4 between Tatum and Brown will likely get the FMVP. Based on the current statistics, in my personal opinion, I think Brown should win it because he has had a bigger impact on the team than Tatum. But that's just my opinion, and I could be wrong.
