61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: July 19, 2024, 09:49:29 AM
If there is something I've learnt about Westbrook in the past few season, it's the fact that he's become rather very humble, he'll do whatever is require of him to help the team whether he's coming of the bench of sitting on the sidelines, he just wants to win, he had no problem coming off the bench when he was traded to Lakers and the chemistry wasn't he adjusted to being just a role player despite coming into the team as a big trade, the same thing happened while he was at the Clippers he wasn't bothered about being used as the head of the second unit when PG or James Harden were getting rest in games.

I'm sure he'd have no problem whatsoever being a role or bench guy in Denver either.

However, what impact he could bring to the Nuggets? I mean we have seen how he played with the Lakers and then the Clippers. So it's just right for him to come off the bench, but he is not what he used to be. He can only be triple double player in the team that he is the Alpha.

And then those late decisions and turnovers might hurt the Nuggets specially in the late game if they keep Russ on the game, just saying. Not hating on WB, he is a MVP, but he is past his prime already and might not contributed any to Denver. He won't be that KCP role had when he was in Nuggets uniform.

The very first Westbrook will bring to the Denver Nuggets is his high level of competitiveness and physicality, I believe there is more to Westbrook than just a triple double-stats padder he was in the latter stages of his prime. I definitely agree that he's  probably way past his prime and he wouldn't not be able to fill in the role left by KCP, at least defensively, but Westbrook is a better facilitator and playmaker than KCP was, he doesn't need to be their main guy or a star on the team, Denver Nuggets already have their man in Nikola Jokic already, but Westbrook can definitely be both a secondary defender and offensive playmaker,

Nah, yes, he couldn't be the stat padder that he used to be, but physically? it's no longer there, in my opinion, maybe we can see some glimpse of his prime years but it will not be on a consistent basis because if we did, then the Clippers are not going to let him go.

And just imagine teams giving him room to shoot because they know he will brick it, Lol. He is not comparable to KCP, he can play defense but WB can't and he could be more of a liability. So good luck to the Nuggets, probably it's his wisdom that they want to extract from him, and his fire and competitiveness and so he is worth for that but it they see him as a offensive weapon then they might be wrong.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Summer Olympics 2024 on: July 19, 2024, 09:11:41 AM
also, If the US fails to take the gold in basketball I am certain a lot of people will troll the NBA and its fans.
I don't think professionals should think about trolls or memes too hard. Everyone likes to watch the favorites fail, regardless of the sport and competition. I'm pretty sure there are some circlejerk subs somewhere making fun of some athletes somewhere. Taking them seriously would only drain your energy. That being said, I'm pretty sure every team have their own target and it's no surprise if the US wants to win the gold medal.

And it's part of being in the limelight specially basketball, they know that they are going to be trolled regardless of the outcome. The USA team though have lost in other world competitions and have been trolled but they get up and move forward.

For sure, this are sports athlete and they should know how to control themselves and try to block every negative energy. Like they are going to play in other homecourt and for sure they will hear a lot of boos from the French people or the crowd since they also have a team that will compete against the USA team. And France has the twin towers in Gobert and Wemby so the USA team should be ready to be heckled and booed if they go against the home team here.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin soars to two-week high after Trump attack on: July 19, 2024, 08:40:56 AM

i think he had his chance once and he dropped the ball. i don't know why he deserves a second chance.

It could be true, but come to think though, we are in a bull run, Bitcoin ETF has been dominating the news at the start of the year and it did push the market to a new all time high. Others says that it's already price-in so we need another positive news that could really trigger the market again post-halving.

So maybe Trump being elected again, could be the trigger point and also his stance on crypto seems to be very positive at this point although we can argue that it could be very different when he sits in January. What I'm saying is that he could be the in the news this November and if he win then it could trickle down not just in crypto but in all other assets like Stocks, and Gold and maybe we can see those market gaining because of him.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 18, 2024, 11:45:08 AM
^^ There's no question that HE Turki Alalshikh is willing to do that, shell out big money. They even mentioned that they are going to create somewhat of a big boxing league and potentially buy out the governing bodies and established like a UFC type of boxing events so that they can have total control and no one can duck anyone and we could be watching the fights that we wanted to see specially fighters are in their prime. So the ball will be on Spence, if he offered that money that he can't refused to fight Ennis in the Middle East for the 147 lbs belt. But obviously, the bigger fish for Ennis is Crawford as he is the undisputed champion but Ennis will have to wait. Crawford is still the man to beat and I doubt that in his last showing Ennis could win against Bud.

Time is running out for Ennis though, Crawford and Spence might go for a rematch at 154 lbs. It might be a win-win for Ennis as the 147 lbs belt are going to be open for everyone and there could be fighters from 140 lbs that will move up in weight.

As for the Saudi here is a good link to read: Turki Alalshikh Proposes Terence Crawford Vs. Jaron “Boots” Ennis At 154.

Quote
His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has confirmed on X that he wants to make the fight between Terence Crawford and Jaron ”Boots’ Ennis at 154 “soon.”

And I think Ennis though will take this opportunity even it will be at 154 lbs. But really depends on how Crawford will react, I mean he could have his mind set on the rematch with Spence. But if we know that if the Saudi is involved, there is no problem with the money here.

I thought though that the proposal is Spence vs Ennis and not Crawford, but obviously I'm wrong here.

65  Other / Beginners & Help / Atlantida Malware - a new crypto info stealer in the wild on: July 18, 2024, 10:41:08 AM
There is a new info stealer in the wild called Atlantida. And what it does is to trick users to download malware laden files from compromised site. The first attack vector is to let unsuspecting victims to download a .hta file from a compromised website. And this is due to the fact that there are vulnerabilities in MSHTML Platform Spoofing Vulnerability, known as CVE-2024-38112

And part of it's info stealing capability is to look for the following in their victims machine,

Quote
One of the notable functions of Atlantida stealer is its ability to steal data from Chrome-based browser extensions. For each Chrome-based extension, an “Extension ID” is given. The malware uses this information to harvest data stored within. Atlantida harvests data from the following cryptocurrency wallets extensions:

https://www.rapid7.com/blog/post/2024/01/17/whispers-of-atlantida-safeguarding-your-digital-treasure/

And with that, it's really very important that if we are a crypto enthusiast, we should all be aware on how to protect our mobile phone, laptop and desktop and practice safety hygiene.

We really can't stress that enough as we are about to hit a bull run and so cyber criminals are also ramping their attacks.
66  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin's price surpass $100,000 by the end of 2025? on: July 18, 2024, 09:01:44 AM
We may not have to wait till the end of 2025 before realizing that bitcoin get to $100,000 his is what we can have before the end of this year 2024, there is nothing to go too far in raising expectations towards the market when we are already on the post halving market price experience which on a normal approach should be bullish by now and sustained, we can keep up to watch on what may be the next to occur anytime form now with bitcoin price.

This is also my prediction as well, we might not have to wait till 2025, maybe at the end of the year, we might be having a huge inflow of money in the market. I'm thinking that the possibility of Trump winning in November might fuel this as we all know that he is turning to be pro-crypto and this could really be good in the market for this year. And then when he sits in January, another surge of money again and we might get over the $100k prediction.

So that's the beauty of it, we might have to wait though, and we need more patience which we could have developed already after all this years in the market. And this could be the biggest bull run that we might have seen since 2017 rush, so let's just wait till the end of 2024.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (Basketball) Olympic Games Paris 2024 - Betting discussions on: July 18, 2024, 08:21:12 AM
Team USA for another dominant win.

USA powers past Serbia for dominant win in Abu Dhabi
GAME RECAP: USA 105, SERBIA 79

You can also see the highlights in the link provided. This is the form of Team USA that is hard to bet against, and most likely they'll really win another gold in the Olympics. What do you think about the performance of Serbia? Did they show their real strength?

I do agree that the USA is going to dominate the Olympics basketball competition with the team that they've sent in Paris. They are even compare to 1992 Dream Team. And in these exhibitions, we've seen them overpowering teams.

And if I'm not mistaken, US and Serbia are in the same bracket, so it will be interesting to see how this exhibitions is because for sure they are going to see more to be able to know who is going to advance.

Just interesting to note though that Curry could have seen his assistant coach on the other side, Dejan Milojevic, unfortunately, the Serbian died on a heart attack this year.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / NJ Democratic Senator Bob Menendez found guilty on: July 17, 2024, 02:32:41 PM
New Jersey's Democratic Senator Bob Menendez was found guilty on Tuesday of accepting bribes as a foreign agent.

Quote
U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (Dem) from New Jersey, a staunch crypto critic, was found guilty of accepting bribes, including gold bars and a luxury car, in exchange for his political clout by a jury on Tuesday.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/u-senator-called-bitcoin-ideal-073920415.html

Isn't it ironic when in 2017 he says that Bitcoin is a ideal choice for criminals.

Quote
“Because of the anonymous nature of bitcoin transactions, the digital currency is an ideal choice for criminals,” wrote the senator,

https://www.menendez.senate.gov/newsroom/press/sen-menendez-scrutinizes-bitcoins-role-as-ransomware-after-equifax-breach

Oh well, he has his argument against Bitcoin, but then Fiat, Gold Bars and Luxury cars are also the choices of criminals like himself.

And it just shows that 'Bitcoin being used by criminals' is outdated already.
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Addiction is 100% your choice: on: July 17, 2024, 02:01:34 PM
These addictions are often seen in rich people only. A poor or middle-class guy gambles only to test his luck. He can’t afford to be addicted to gambling.
I don't think this is correct, be it rich, middle-class or poor, one can be addicted to gambling or any kind of addiction. Even people who do not have so much money either sell their properties, borrow or steal to gamble when they suffer from gambling addiction. The addiction basically has to do with lack of control in gambling, and when an individual lacks control in anything they do, they can go to any extent to make sure they do it, so not only rich people suffer from this.

Everyone is vulnerable to gambling, as per my experience going into landbased casinos, you will see different kind of individuals, you can see them. Rich, being the whales and you can see how big their bet is, lets say for baccarat games. And then middle-class with just a couple hundred and then the poor one, with minimum bet or playing in slot machine with that minimum but hoping that they can win big in the end.

So yeah, it could be our choice, but once we get into gambling, it's going to be a vicious cycle and it's hard to stop regardless of your social status in the continue and in the end,  we all go through being addicted, rich or poor.

And I have this theory that the poor individuals might be prone more before they wanted that one win that will chance their lives.
70  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there a legal jurisdiction backing up gamblers against the casino oppression? on: July 17, 2024, 12:19:13 PM
my question is if is there any jurisdiction to backup interests of gamblers as much terms and conditions of casino sites lies to tender legal backups to the Casino companies?
i am sure there are some laws that covers the unlawful doing of a business but it would all depend on your country and what laws you have for gambling some countries may have gambling set as illegal and you reporting a casino when it is illegal to gamble in the first place might put you in a compromising situation

Yes, it's really depend on the country that you lived in, however, it's going to be very difficult if you have a gambling law but it will have to chase let's say a online casino. So there could be legal jurisdiction and it's hard to implement that law.

So with that, we should really gamble on casinos that has reputation already, or at least casinos that has been with us here in the community. And even if they have accusations against them, they quickly settled it because they know that their trust and reputation are on the line. As compare to a supposedly new casinos that are just trying to get their reputation here, however, they chooses to scam and not pay their players.
71  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin surge in the last 24hrs on: July 17, 2024, 11:18:29 AM
Bitcoin has suddenly springed in the last couple of hours breaking the 65,000$ Mark. This was observed to happen immediately after the attack on Donald trump, the Presidential candidate of the United States of America.
Without drawing much attention, could it be because he is fully in support of cryptocurrency?. I would like to hear others opinions.

I don't understand the voting though, but obviously USD is the gauge, but if you have a local crypto exchange, obviously it will equate to your fiat.

As for the surge, it called FOMO, that's why others suddenly invest their money because of Trump being pro-crypto. And then there is the drama about his assassination attempt and that they has 9 lives and then picking up a good VP candidate in Vance, so what can you asked for? Of course, investors are going to take advantage of this recent news to create this pump.

We can only speculate how he will be pro-crypto once he get to the office and so far the odds for him are very high to be re-elected and then could really boost the price to 6 digits in the future.
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you developing as a player? on: July 17, 2024, 08:57:28 AM
I want to ask everyone interested in the topic of betting a question: are you developing as a betting player? Now I don't mean casino games that are completely dependent on luck. I write about sports and other bets in which you can make a profit in the long term, although it is very difficult and the percentage of such players is very small.
I also ask that those who “play for fun” not take part in the discussion. Such people, in my opinion, have little valuable to say on this topic.
If you take your entire gaming history, would you say that you have learned anything during this time?

You just have to bet on what you think who will win, regardless of the odds. Because I see bettors, like in sports betting that if they don't like the odds then they will not go and bet. And then later complain that they should have won if they point some money on it. Regardless of how little it will be, still a lunch money if you put your bet there.

In other words, are you progressing as a player? Is your strategy improving? Is the quality of risk management and money management improving? Have you learned to control your emotions? Are your winning statistics stable? Do losses keep you out of the game? Have you learned to recover from losses? Are you getting better at predicting the results of sports matches?

Strategies will improved overtime, you learn how to play without your emotions, because sometimes we get carried away specially if you are in the losing side and we wanted to chase. But as you improved, you might not go and deposit for more. Might call it a day and just wait tomorrow, maybe it's going to be very different for you, if could be that you can win and recover that earlier losses. Definitely, if you follow that sports and then you have betting for years, at least you have the advantages in predicting the outcome and win.
73  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: After Effects Of Gambling In Your Health And Pocket on: July 16, 2024, 01:23:44 PM
For me, the consequences of gaming can only be a waste of all the money. All other problems, such as nervousness and loss of sleep, fortunately, bypass me. However, since I am an unlucky player and, in general, I can hardly be called a player, all my money, which I sometimes allocate in the hope of getting a little more, flies away at the speed of light. But I don’t know how to experience such difficulties as finding additional money, taking out a loan, etc., because I am cautious about the family budget.

It just shows that you have total control of yourself, or to an extend, you are not really into gambling to make money, you play and that's it, set a certain budget and if you lose, no pain what so ever with you, financially and mentally.

But there are individuals and I think majority of them are just wasting their money on gambling, admit it or not. And we all know that gambling is the most expensive form of entertainment and with that it is obviously only affecting the our pockets.
74  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ranking forms of enternaintment by money spent, gamnling's position on: July 16, 2024, 12:54:28 PM
With that, as a form of entertainment, gambling can be the most expensive one! Especially when talking about slots.
I'd say if you view gambling as a form of entertainment you should find games where the minimum bet fits your budget if you want to spend hours doing it per session. To each their own ofc and your mileage may vary. But it's interesting to think about it this way.

I think that is obvious though, that when we involved ourselves into gambling, it's really very expensive and I have hearing this from some of my friends friends, their wives and anyone who doesn't understand gambling and why we spend money into it as form of entertainment. But to get away from that mindset, we have a saying that we should gamble what we can afford to lose so that there will be no regrets and there are no qualms if we lose that money.

But yeah, mileage could be very different and it could depend on several factors like how long have you been gambling and how much money you send and what are to total net positive or negative, in short if you have won or not or willing to continue to play with what your budget can offer.
75  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC Security Broken? on: July 16, 2024, 11:25:11 AM
I think some of the confusion comes from the conflicting narrative:

"BTC is digital gold"

"BTC will replace fiat"

Can BTC do both? Or is the official narrative one or the other?

That's what others though try to portray Bitcoin, and so it could be conflicting for others, but there could be school of thoughts that both are applicable but it will take some time to achieved that, or it might not happen.

And again, this narrative makes what Bitcoin is today, it the beginning it was just a payment scheme and then it evolved to what we call a hedge to economic issues or even wars. So it encompasses every facet that is known to man and so the narrative can take many shapes or forms.
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think markets not in dip now but soon so good time to get rich on: July 16, 2024, 09:41:45 AM
-Get yourself that being prepared all the time
-Make yourself that expect for things on which are unexpected
-Always assume about the worst and dive in when opportunity happens.

On the moment that you do find yourself that that dealing up with this market then you should really be that versatile so that you wont really be that making
yourself having that kind of shock and impulsive feeling on the moment or time that you would really be that making some encounter about market volatility.
Dont make yourself that panic on the moment that you do really be able to see on things because this is really just that normal towards the market.
Market would really be having that multiple opportunities that it do gives since there's only two possible movements that it could have on which going up or down.
This is why it would be that important on having that acceptance.

Dont rush up yourself on becoming rich because it would really be just that making yourself that desperate because rushing up is never been that good.
So it would be your own approach on things and act accordingly.
Expect what is unexpected is the most hard thing to achieve here. A lot of people do not realize how important that is, because usually it is not that easy for a lot of people. You need to expect that tomorrow morning it could be 30k or 80k and both are equally possible. In fact, we could even say that there is no unexpected in the crypto market, everything is expected, and that's why it is so important to deal with.

I hope that people could get to a point where we could probably see some improvements and price would go up and what we did not expect becomes a high price, because alternatively we could not expect how low it gets as well and I usually don't like that, it is not that great and a terrible feeling overall.

It's also about the time, most of us here can't really wait for so long and so we just sell when we wanted to get profit and that's it. But for those who have been in the market for so long, there are no secrets, you really have to be mentally though and resilient and wait for the right time to sell, and at this rate or in this bull run, it could be in the 6 digits nothing less.

And now that the market seems to be bullish, as we have seen the price going on in the last 24 hours and even reach $65k, then we should really be just holding and on the contrary continue to accumulate as much as we can. Again, it could be that 6 digits could be in the horizon for us at the end of the year, so just do what's best and that is be a long term HODLer.
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: July 16, 2024, 09:18:11 AM
After watching the Team USA vs Australia game I can say that it isn’t a major concern. Team USA got off to a big lead early on and then seemed to let off the gas. Players like Joel Embiid never seemed to really make a good effort. I think as time goes on we’ll see USA’s players put in a better effort.

Or perhaps they are just putting like 79-80% as this is just an exhibition match but when the real games begin, it will be a different effort. And again, Australia has been playing together for many years to it doesn't surprised me at all coming back, so let's give them credit for that.

For Bronny, yes, the spotlight is on this kid, but he should know how to handle it. His father has been in the same since he entered the league, and we haven't heard any rookie in the last 20 years with so big hype maybe except Wemby last year. But this is different, this is Lebron son's so there will be a lot of comparison and the media are going to scrutinized his every move inside and outside of the court. It might be good for him that he will turn out to be a good defensive player for all we know.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Historical mistake: England sold gold in 2019 and Germany sold BTC in 2024? on: July 15, 2024, 09:59:05 PM
I would like to know your opinion on this issue:
  • Do you think the German government's BTC sell-off was a historical mistake?
  • If you could help the German government make a decision, would you like to turn this 50K BTC into a national reserve?
  • Do you continue to believe in BTC price growth opportunities in the near future to become an extremely valuable asset in the economy?

I wouldn't consider any sell of government's BTC a historical mistakes, I mean it's their own decision, and by that time, they couldn't care of what the price will be, as long as they are going to offload it and have the money, then good for them. And perhaps they don't think that Bitcoin could be a hedge or a reserved that's why government around the world are selling it.

Nah, as I have said, no one think that Bitcoin could be a national reserved, they will still to the old and traditional Gold.

Of course, as a Bitcoin enthusiast, we have been in the market and witness several halvings already, Bitcoin is going to be a valuable assets to us. Although global adoption is slow, but it doesn't matter. The aim here is to be inside the market, be an early adopter, similar to those who have been in the market in the beginning. And at least you have the advantage from those who will going to enter in the latter stage.
79  Economy / Speculation / Re: I didn't expect to see it went below 56k on: July 15, 2024, 09:41:05 PM
And we can also say that we didn't expect the price to go up to $63k but now just because Trump got shot? So there's a lot of thing in this ecosystem that it's really hard to explain, especially how volatile it is and probably that's why we love this market.

Very unpredictable, and it's going to make or break a traders mentality in terms of how he will do his trading strategies. And then for the investors, we will have what we call diamond hands and then those weak hands that will sell because they don't like what they see, and they think that they are going to lose money because of how it went down to $54k. But in matter of just 48 hours, now we have bounce back already.
80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Akhmadaliev ordered by the WBA no later than September 25 on: July 15, 2024, 01:52:02 PM
It was nearing July 14 for the announcement but sadly it's just probably not in the plans of the management for Inoue. I agree that it can be with boxing politics and might not benefit Inoue's career or something.

What are the possible main reasons for fighting TJ? I'm still thinking about it.

The main reason why Team Inoue chooses TJ Doheny as their next opponent is the latter's popularity in Japan. If you browse through TJ's resume, his last three fights were held in Japan so he is very sellable in Japan than Akhmadaliev. Though no specific date yet but reports had it that Inoue vs Doheny will be held this coming September in Tokyo.

And TJ won all the 3 fights in Japan, and so it make sense for team Inoue to fight him as there could be a storyline to somewhat stop TJ in his tracks as he has one all his fights in Inoue's backyard and what a better way to show than Inoue itself who I say is the king of Japanese boxing for now.

Although Inoue will sell any stadium in Japan if he fought Akhmadaliev. And just like what others might think, this could be Inoue's last fight in this division and so he will be very careful to choose an opponent that might pose a lesser risk on him.
