61  Economy / Economics / Re: Also consider your mental State of health while investing for wealths. on: April 21, 2024, 09:45:12 PM
IMHO, this topic is a lowkey in our society. But I like it that it is getting the interest of many and the attention that it needed to have. Because many folks don't still believe how important is the mental state of everyone whether you do investing, studying or even in working as an employee.

While we put time, money and effort for our investments. It is a must to think of how it is going to be when you're investing and you have to make sure that you're prepared not just financially since you're taking a risk but also mentally.

Just like in marriage, you should be prepared with the same thing as it's going to be a commitment and that's what it should be in investing too. Because you worked hard for your money and you have to make sure that you have calculated the risk where you are investing it.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What the Heck Do Gamblers Mean By this Phrase on: April 20, 2024, 11:05:13 PM
I didn't heard that before but as they've said, it has something to do with your hands and cards. As yahoo explained it well, in poker they call it 'good hand'.

While for blackjack, wherever you have heard it means the same thing.

It doesn't sound bad if you haven't heard it before and that's what it is to me, nothing negative but only positive and well explained there by other buddies.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Runes will be worthless. Don't waste your precious BTC on huge fees. on: April 20, 2024, 09:46:41 PM
It's the same as the brc20 when they've spammed the network and they're able to successfully made the fees crazily high.

But just like that, it is going to pass and they'll be forgotten by everyone. Right now, the fees are terrible but, once it is done we'll see some declogging on the network and that's the sign when they're nearly gone.

I think it is the first time seeing Bitcoin went on that kind of fee of $100+. I've seen this kind of fee but in gas fees on ERC20 but not on bitcoin blockchain.
64  Economy / Economics / Re: More trouble for crypto? on: April 19, 2024, 11:55:36 PM
There's no reason for me to worry personally; as long as I'm still doing what I'm used to doing in my life in this field of crypto business, that's all. And enjoy every day that God gives me.
I am just learning about the accumulation of cryptos that I think will improve and help me in the future.
Keep on accumulating and don't let news like this put you into worry about the market. The market is complicated and you're just going to make it more complicated if you're going to be worried about it.

News like this can be indications on what might the market move a bit when you're looking at it.

But, this is not going to affect it at all times and when it doesn't then your worry doesn't makes sense because you're worrying for something that you don't have to be.

No Jimmy Buckets!  Undecided

Jimmy Butler officially ruled out of Friday's do-or-die Play-In game vs. Bulls

We're waiting for him this play-in and then he's got injured for the very first game. This MCL sprain on his right knee really, come on. We know how he changes and puts himself into beast mode every play-in/playoffs that they're going.

I guess that there's no more threat to the Celtics with this news. But with the Bulls, as they'll be the one for their next matchup, everyone is going to put money on the line for the Bulls.

They might I just wouldn't count out the Heat.  Not that Jimmy isn't the biggest part of that team but you never know in one and done games.  One cold streak by either team and you can lose.  Like the regular season when good teams lose to bottom feeders.  That's where 7 game series come in play.
Yeah, the team is still good even if Jimmy isn't there but can't deny the fact that he's always changing his form during the playoffs to finals if ever they get in.

It's already 1-0 in favor of Bulls and this 2nd game, no Jimmy and that's an advantage still for the Bulls. But we'd see then if this is going to game 3 since there have been a lot of games in the past that they're able to win even if there's no Jimmy on the roster.

Over time the best teams win but one and done I hate betting.
He has made a lot of bettors richer last season but maybe not this time but I hope that they win later.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Short-term holders now have about ~1.8M BTC on: April 18, 2024, 11:03:02 PM
IMO, they're ready to get deployed and get dumped once the price target has been reached. Well, it's not a new thing to be seen because everyone is for profit.

Regardless of how long we want to hold Bitcoin when the times of need get close to you, you have no other option but to sell it. But many of these holders have it all planned on how long and at what rate they'd sell those.

As with this data, I guess it's more optimistic knowing the long term holders and those that haven't moved more than that range as the so called real HODLERS.

68  Economy / Gambling / Re: QuitGamble.com - Free Help for Problem Gamblers on: April 17, 2024, 10:29:08 PM
I just barely knew the site and I thought this was a free program just opened the site and see pricing on it heheh.
They have a 7-day free trial plan so that's likely enough for someone who would like to try them if they're going to be helpful. With that period, customer has the access that they've made for everyone to help with their own community and materials they've made.

Tho is always good to see people create a new site like this and help the other but It would be more great if you teamed up with the government so you can make this goodwill completely free.
I agree, it will be helpful if they team up with the government and propose this and see if they're up to the standards by the country where they'd offer this.

But, majority of the government deals are hard to get even for an appointment so let's see if they've tried it already or not and if they're going to respond on this.
69  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin's 4 year cycle only coincidence? (This could be actually good news.) on: April 17, 2024, 08:38:23 PM
So, knowingly 2021 was the bull run and should be followed by a terrible bear market on 2022 but did we felt that? I don't think so, it's totally different and far from expected bear and slump market on that year, we didn't even felt that it was one.
Sure? What about the Terra/Luna drop, the FTX insolvency? The +75% price drop (very close to the previous drops around ~80%)? I believe that this was a quite "normal" bear market, much like the previous ones - and had also a similar extension (about exactly a year, even a couple of weeks longer than the 2017-18 bear).
What was a bit different is that in 2022 the attention level on Bitcoin and crypto in general remained relatively high, even if the price evolution was catastrophic like in previous bear markets. So crypto seemed a little bit less "dead" in the crypto winter (although the Bitcoin Obituaries got some new entries, even by an European Central Bank official Wink ). But it were mainly negative events driving this attention, plus the NFT adoption in non-crypto sectors.
You're right that the attention for Bitcoin at that time was high and it was incomparable way back on 2018 bear market. I think also the price that was quite higher than 2018 was a factor as well that we don't feel bad that much on 2022.

IMO, it was like really a common bear market but it's not that a lot to be feared of. Yeah, there goes those news that have signaled the bear market but it was a different feeling for me.

In conclusion, we might see the next bear market to be not that scary at all but there might be a lot of drops and negative news again but if I've felt less aggressive and not scared for the 2022 bear, it could be less by 2026 or so.

71  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do casinos do with inactive accounts? on: April 16, 2024, 08:12:25 PM
What do casinos do with inactive accounts? And what does inactivity mean - not logging in to your casino account or logging in say every two months without playing any game?

I also learned that there is something called a dormancy fee or maintenance charges on those inactive accounts which covers for administrative cost incurred by those accounts. I learned that the deduction is from the remaining balance in the account. What about inactive accounts without any balance? On the other hand, what type of fee is charged on an active account?
That dormancy policies varies on each casino. Some may have those fees but usually, they'll just deactivate your account and if they've given the user a period for withdrawal and the user isn't able to withdraw it, they'd just take it.

But you can always contact the support and, see how responsive they are or some times they're giving extended period or they'll give you mercy for just refunding your money which is actually yours even if you have overlapped the period given for withdrawal.
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 16, 2024, 06:40:42 PM
I do believe that we are at a stage where these play-in games are totally unpredictable and betting on them feels a little scary to me. I am not saying that it is going to be simple or difficult, all I am saying is that it is not going to be predictable. People will bet on it of course, just like people bet on anything, but I will try to avoid it if possible.
That's the most exciting part when we don't have any idea if they're going to push through the bracket and have plans of giving in lowkey to move to the other bracket competing against other team that they prefer.

I am speaking about the teams that are in the in-play.

I can see plenty of games, and none of them look to be sure thing to me, all of them look like it is going to be very close. Lets see how it ends and when the real playoffs stars then I can bet a lot easier. It is usually obvious after like one or tow games where the games are going so I am going to wait. I would love to see Lebron at playoffs though, I know that much for sure.
Everyone loves to see Lebron at the playoffs except his haters, with his age and physique, he's going to make another history.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: April 16, 2024, 04:29:44 PM
This is another experiment that could bring interesting results over the course of the next few years. El Salvador is trying while other countries are holding back without good reason.

It surely can be dangerous if El Salvador tries to overly fuck around with shitcoins, and so it could end up having some slippery-slope effects if they are not able to keep some of there debt issuance (token creation) or whatever are the details in check, and so within any of their bitcoin adoption, they are still needing to dance around real world dynamics, and hopefully they do not end up losing their way or becoming hypocrites in their actual real world practices.  With any of these discretionary matters, there sometimes might need to be some practicalities, and I am not going to presume that they are going overboard in whatever shitcoins they are allowing to seep into various aspects of their budgeting matters (or various projects that might seem ambiguous in regards to going down shitcoin routes).
I have a bad feeling about this tokenization that Bitfinex is introducing to El Salvador. There have been projects that are into this debt tokenization in the past IIRC that most of them didn't do well.

Or let's just start with those lending/borrowing platforms that not all of them thrived and some did even filed for bankruptcy. While this is a RWA type of project, I'm not optimistic about it if that's going have good result with it but good luck with the construction.

75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will increasing banking restrictions lead to a rise in P2P transactions? on: April 16, 2024, 01:47:04 PM
Anything is of possibility at these times. It could be how they react because it's known that we're entering into the bull run so that's a way for them to at least get some control. But, no matter what they do, each of us will still find a way to transact and deal even without the intervention of the traditional processes that we've used to do.

All that you've mentioned Jet are the choices that all of us have got, the p2p platforms you know can also be dealt into scrutiny by the government. It's every platform now that can be questioned by them.

If there are some merchants and OTC platforms that are a separate entity from the banking industry, you'd go for them. But just as how dangerous the meeting in person, you'll never know if some punks are surrounding to that area trying to look for the bitcoin folks that they always thought of having the money and rich.
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin's 4 year cycle only coincidence? (This could be actually good news.) on: April 16, 2024, 10:59:26 AM
My theory: It could be good news because it means that it's not necessarily a "given" that Bitcoin has to crash as deep as it did in the past. So it's perhaps likely that future bear markets could be shorter and much less pronounced.

If people understood that many bear markets were caused by external influences, this would already perhaps reduce the amount of panic in downward phases. I've already mentioned MtGox. But there's more: The 2022 crash could have been much less deep if neither Terra/Luna nor the FTX insolvency happened. And there was also the Ukraine war which brought deep uncertainty into the markets.
I'd support you with this theory, why? Because if we go back just a few years back on 2021, the narrative and cycle was truly different at that time. So, knowingly 2021 was the bull run and should be followed by a terrible bear market on 2022 but did we felt that? I don't think so, it's totally different and far from expected bear and slump market on that year, we didn't even felt that it was one.

Even if you don't agree, I think it's a fact that there is no "natural" force that drives Bitcoin prices down 70-80% or more in bear markets. In my opinion it's a combination of these "bad news" events, people panicking, and whales and speculators making profits shorting Bitcoin when they think a panic could occur. Like yesterday. There could be natural phases where the interest in Bitcoin dwindles, but that would probably not justify such deep crashes. BTC could behave more like other assets like big cap stocks, with occasional 20-30% crashes/bear markets but not much more.
IMO that we're like back in the narrative and fundamentals on 2016-2017 where not just all about the craze of ICOs but also driven by the bad news.

We've got a better cycle this one because drivers like halving + etfs are more enthusiastic than of the past. 2022 bear's lowest was around $16k and it was just 4.2x away from the ATH of $69k of 2021.
77  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What people some people don't know about trading on: April 15, 2024, 06:11:03 PM
I have seen where people say trading is a quick to get money.

But I see it differently. Rather, trading is a place that shows those who work hard, put in consistency and are ready to learn and those who think they can outsmart their way in.

Those who earn massively in trading are those who have dedicated 1-2 years of their time to learning a particular skill to perfection.

So, how can you earn 50-1000k like them if you didn't put in the work?
Not just 1-2 years of experience but more of that and think of how much they're able to lose before they've learned the lesson, that's for sure a lot of money that they've used.

The effort that they've exerted and the time that they dedicated in trading to learn and master it can't be compared to anyone who's saying that it's just a way to earn quickly.

Let them trade and see how hard it is to read the market even if you're good in technical analysis, this market is so slippery that sometimes they don't even work.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Network jam. on: April 15, 2024, 04:05:48 PM
Today is 15 Apr 2024.The Bitcoin network is jammed, the fee rate goes to about 100sat/vb. I can see many OP_RETURN transactions at mempool.space. They seemed to have some special use. What are they used for? Cry
Before doing a transaction, check your fees if you don't want to experience hassle. I'm not sure if the BRC20 spammers are back or there's another batch of it as what I've read about the Runes, no idea at all.

If you're transacting some mini transactions, use LN but if you don't know how to and you're going to do it with the actual Bitcoin network. Brace yourselves if you can take the fees or not.

But most likely, it's too high and we just can't throw fees like this.
79  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lottery Fever. What are your range of thoughts in response to Lucky Winners? on: April 15, 2024, 01:01:02 PM
I don't bet in the lottery because I know that I'll never win. I don't even take chances even I know that there's the slightest chance that I can win there.

You will never win if you didn’t make a bet. Having 1 ticket is enough for you to have a chance to win. I always purchase 1 to 10 tickets whenever the jackpot prize is already high just to try my luck.
Yeah, no chance if I won't bet but as I've said it's best for me not to take any chances cause it's gotta be a waste of money for me. I'm not from the US but if the prize is like then why not?

Quote
But with that revenue that the government of US getting from their citizens who consistently bet on their lottery, it's because that the pot is also growing.

I've heard that the pot has increased up to $1-B and that's why everyone is getting crazy trying to hit that jackpot.

I check the powerball website of US but I don’t see the billion dollars jackpot prize anymore. I read to in the news before that the pot prize increase to that level but there’s no news about who win that powerball.

It’s so awesome being a billionaire by just purchasing a ticket that cause only few dollars out of your pocket. Shocked
Well, if the chance is higher by being struck with a lightning. I cannot think of how much chance someone needs in winning that billion.

The prize pot has been reported reach into a billion just a few weeks ago.

US Powerball jackpot worth $1 billion up for grabs
