61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: June 06, 2018, 08:16:35 AM

I don't suppose anyone has found any crypto long-shot worth mining with these D3's yet?

I have found that they make 'cumbersome' doorstops and such...so just asking Smiley

how to explain the word "worth"
It is DASH not? or some others x11 coin?

At this point, I will take anything of any sort, x11 or otherwise, on the 'illusion' of profit...not really cutting it for x11 and unlikely to do so in the future.

I suppose I should really dig but at 14c kWh, for the data hall they are at (admittedly it is only month to month contract) I don't see anything that in anyway

closes that comes thru but as a longshot to get these Bitmain D3 x11 miners to do anything but act as doorstops anymore.

25c currently is something per day I suppose. Not really earth-shattering. I don't suppose anyone has a favorite long shot coin of the x11 type, that they

are in full HODL mode on and see as having a future..(or a use for my doorstop Bitmain D3 x11 miners)

ah, well they are off now....just wondering Smiley

On some days, the calculator should show profit but only for a day or 2 before difficulty climbs and it shows negative again as more people plug it back in.

Not sure why the "moderator" is deleting messages though it is related to the subject. It is a forum after all and people provide opinion and help each other. There are like 8 messages missing when I have checked today.

Sorry I know this has been discussed many times on here but I can't find it on this thread, but just have 3 questions.

1. At what temperatures should my S9's be constantly steady at? Does this look right at all?
2. Is it possible these asics can last more than a 2 year lifespan with great maintenance?
3. Should I change my Estimated Payout period from 0.01 to 0.1 due to pool fees at pool

1- I try to keep mine below 80. Averaging 75. But no matter how low I go with the cooling (mine are in 20 deg), the fans are not going below 3700is rpm.
2- 50/50 but it is possible. I have a T9 running since the 1st release, running non stop with the same PSU. Keep away from dust and humidity. Open the miner every now and then and clean the dust.
3- it is up to you. but the higher the payment are, the lower you pay fees.

All my messages from the previous several days have been deleted...

Same here. Hmmm unfortunate. It had good info and it was about mining. I read an analyst report and it suggested 30-40% prepaid wafers by bitmain had been deployed. This is on in may.

So, I guess they still have to dump machines due to too much prepaid wafers, probably ordered in error during the times when the S9s sold out in 2 mins when released lol. Hopefully it gets cleared soon and no more wafer over-orders occur. The Z9 now becomes a 2 for 1 lol. They wanna clear the wafers that bad.

Maybe now 60-70% of wafers have been cleared?

Z9 ($1520 - 2x horse power) batch gained more by $405 vs Z9 ($1999) & lower capital by $479

You will see the following;

* Batch 1 will have minimal impact to profitability (80-90% of todays levels across all Equihash coins)
* Batch 2 will have significant impact to profitability (guaranteed to reduce to 30-50% of today's levels)

I make that statement on the basis that Batch 1 sold out and Batch 2 still hasn't sold out.
Batch 2 is so big, that they have; dropped the price to $850, given out $250 coupons and doubled the shipping quantity for some.

They don't want to even contemplate storing a warehouse full of new Z9's. They understand that moving stock is business. They want all sold long before production starts rolling them out and they have estimated a LOT of production.

Yeah and they pass the problem to u....if things dont go well.
They are today still selling toaster D3s for cheap.....
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: June 05, 2018, 10:38:47 AM
Saw this a few days ago and well among the obvious (difficulty) I suspect this is also why the price drop.

While speaking in reference to the "Z9 Big/Full" hashrate as compared to the Z9 Mini -- the Full Size Z9 is estimated to 3x-4x the hashrate of the mini

Link to tweet https://twitter.com/JihanWu/status/1002814753469706245

Just like the L3 (mini) and the L3+ I suspect the big version is on the horizon soon and the mini's need to be sold first.

Wat about difficulty increasing and profit dropping and ROI? Another D3? zzzz
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: June 05, 2018, 09:52:02 AM
just got a strange email from Bitmain!!! price dropped coupons and double Z9 shippment.. so confused  Huh

Yep same. F this. I'm done mining. Just going to trade. Tired of losing money on buying miners that will take over a year to ROI.  I will not get another Asic. The coupon will go straight to the trash bc I am tired of donating to shitmain

Dude, sell the coupon to someone to help recoup losses. Dont throw.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: June 05, 2018, 09:39:32 AM
How did it drop to 850 USD? The difficulty spiked that much already?
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: June 04, 2018, 03:58:08 PM
I think I will pass. I worry they will sell so many Z9 that no one profits.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bytom Mining - ASIC algorithm now cracked by GPU miners? Big profits? on: June 04, 2018, 03:06:41 PM
Hi guys!

My results 2700-2800 H/s

6*1070TI PCI-Ex1 (ASUS Cerber)@G4400@Win7Pro

F2POOL

https://ibb.co/bz6BVy

I got maximum 2820 H/s with memspeed  at 4400MHz

How many watts does this system use? 1300 watts? Looks overclocked

As for hashrates, I believe bytom hashrate is volatile can increase/decrease by 25-30% at times. U need to wait some time for it to stabilize.
69  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: June 04, 2018, 06:01:05 AM
AND the numbers are IN!

S9i 14th at the wall (230v) = 1430-1445W

same test setup

A841 13.5th = 1280-1320W

Sorry Bitmain, Close......but not close enough

U sure this is correct? That is 7% more power for about 4% more hashrate?
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: June 04, 2018, 01:38:32 AM
Difficulty has been dropping lately. Maybe due to GameCredits being more profitable to mine at the moment or Bitmain turning off some of their machines in attempt to keep the L3+ appear profitable so they can dump their remaining stock.

lol highly doubt that...more like thousands of people paying more than 10 cents electricity turning off their machines.

Yep, it is probably people turning it off. It is the same as dash. If u see dash difficulty, it goes up and down alot according to prices. But Bitmain is still selling these cheap and there will always be new buyers when price spike and difficulty has not spiked yet. This makes it look profitable during that short period....
71  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Avalon pursuing 7nm technology on: June 03, 2018, 05:06:57 AM
This is a good idea.  A long term rebate never ending.  Just declining a bit.

Avalon would do well with this idea.

my partner buysolar and I are looking to develop a Pay One Price  solar miner.

Your have something here.  Build chips into a panel and mine a bit. Not bad.

Pay one price solar miner? Buy solar is a solar company I guess

Looks like they may abandon or shift from mining gear

This looks like AI and not crypto.
We dont need more mining gear actually. There is a fixed amount of btc released every 10mins iirc. Stronger gear just means everyone has to spend more and upgrade and still get the same amount of btc being released.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-canaan-ipo/as-bitcoin-world-wobbles-mining-rig-company-plans-2-billion-ipo-idUSKCN1IN01X

Canaan only made 56million usd profit in the whole of 2017 which is a record year of mining. They made 7 times lesser, meaning 8 million usd profit in 2016. It isnt that much. The market isnt that big.

21.com had a similar idea a while ago, but seem to have dropped off the map.

I forget who it was that had the idea of a "smart lightbulb" with a miner chip in it, but haven't seen that come to market.

I believe the whole "consumer device with a mining chip in it" concept is a non-starter, due to power usage (forget Green certification) and requirement for Internet access (lots of folks that don't have WiFi of any form or any interest in it) and the additional cost of such an item.

Their biggest issue would be most people are not interested in mining. The average person will not take the trouble to configure everything or even if it was somehow auto-configured, they would not be willing to pay even abit more for that chip to make like 2-3 dollars a month lol. Not worth the hassle and these people do not want bitcoin. Furthermore, with mining being competitive now, they can only sell those products with mining chips to countries with low electricity rate.

Those interested in mining would want strong efficient miners and not 1 chip in each product lol. Basically, their product has no real demand.

Fuck miners my Samsung tv can run the entire block chain.

[...]

I think the only household like item that would work for mining is if they put mining chips directly into solar cells and it is probably gonna be a small amount of mining chips per solar cell since solar generates so little power. The chips should be working 24/7 and housed waterproof somehow lol. Or better still, do wat tesla does and put solar cells into roofing with the chips. That might actually work, where the solar is located on the roof outside and generates electricity and the chips are located on the inside of the house and creates heat and btc. The good news is that it will never turn unprofitable haha.
73  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Hashrate stabilization and mining market/farm implications on: June 01, 2018, 12:50:39 PM
My original plan was to quit by 2020 before the halving. I dont think I can compete by then lol. Didnt expect this mining war to occur make things more competitive now.
74  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: June 01, 2018, 12:36:28 PM
And all coins that u mine via gpu, such as eth, has increased in value like 50-100 times over...

Which means I made the correct call selling all my S7's in February, 2016 to begin purchasing hardware for GPU mining.  I "knew" better than to invest my funds from S7 sells into the new S9 at the time.  I saw much more potential for increased revenue with GPU mining instead of BITMAIN (ASIC) Mining.  I also liked the concept of getting back to GPU mining to rid the community of one manufacturer who dominated the space; which resulted in centralized mining by big corporation(s).

Phillip, told the truth in his comment just below my previous comment.  Bitmain is looking for another coin to gain an "edge" once again.  They're hoping the Equiphash algorithm will give them the edge they seek.  Currently, it's not looking so well for them with BTG, EXPANSE, ZEN and Bitcoin Private all saying they will fork to remain ASIC resistant.  If ZEC also ends up changing their algorithm, it's not looking good for Bitmain.

My point is your GPU ROI 4 times over since 2016 but had u just buy ETH instead, u would have made more like 50+ times over since eth was 10 dollars then..

I think they are always looking for new coins. They will probably have a miner for every algo one day lol.

So will tezos be listed and when? I still have mine.
76  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: June 01, 2018, 12:23:17 PM
I'm sure they would if this fucked up ancient forum provided such a capability to the mods. The new forum which we'll allegedly be getting in 2.5 years ago should fix that.

Pls pm me when u figured out how to get the time machine to go back to 2.5 years ago lol
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: May 31, 2018, 09:01:53 AM
tezos is alive again. Awaiting news.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 30, 2018, 06:11:19 AM
Is this a gimmick? The problem is they might spam so many units that your profits drop greatly or u just cannot break even. This has occurred with the D3, and now L3+.

For L3+ it depends when someone bought them, My batch 1 L3+s bought last year in May (pre-order started in April 2017 I believe for $1370) paid themselves off in less than 2 months mining GAME over $45/day. Ever since it was a free ride  Grin and I must add trouble free ride that is easy to overclock and no failures.

I am talking about recent ones. Not 1 year ago ones. My year ago asic did fine too.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain E3 Ethash Miner ASIC (Shipping:16-31 July. $800 USD) on: May 30, 2018, 05:45:53 AM
If they sell enough to crash eth mining. It will crash gpu mining.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [EON] EXSCUDO - ICO successfully finished! on: May 30, 2018, 05:38:40 AM
My Tier 1 Verification works fine but I cant seem to withdraw the tokens to the exchange wallet. I click withdraw and it just does not work.

Anyone else with the same problem?
