721  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: My antminer S9 hashboards keep appearing and dissapearing -HELP on: December 21, 2017, 06:11:44 PM
Maybe this is why it could mine all 3 hashboards on default mode but only 2 hashboards on my worker....there was something wrong with the ethernet cable. I find it weird that it was the solution but this has worked for 2 of my miners... and also worked for woodgiins https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2274299.0
722  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: December 21, 2017, 06:00:02 PM

Omg, I just got a new problem. Will a restart solve this?
1 of the hashboards is not working on another miner.

Holy CRAP, changing the ethernet cable actually solved it...It is good now. I am not kidding.
No, it didn't, that doesn't make any sense. What you are facing is an intermittent failure. S9 boards failure rate is quite high. Maybe you are lucky and this board fails just once in a while, or it may go bad every other day, or at some point it may die for good. Good luck.

I know how silly it sounds but this worked for me on 2 hashboards on 2 different miners and worked for this fellow here too https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2274299.20

I resetted it multiple times in the past and that didnt work. I upgraded firmware for one of them too and still 1 hashboard missing. I ssh and poweroff, waited and poweron again, changed cable and it worked....

Try it buddy. It may work.

Hi I am having a similar issue my Nov batch s9 worked fine for two days then dropped too 9TH/s by the time I got too it was at 0TH/s...

Hardware version is blank and so is the status tab.

I have a kernel log that may help will go on my phone and upload pics to this post.

https://imgur.com/gallery/jaxJR

Just been looking at my kernel and comparing it to a working one -

Issues

1. ERROR of set pic flash addr:
2. Chain [5] and [6] has no middle temp, use special fix mode
3.bmminer not found
4. Chain [J8] has 0 ASIC

Anyone know anything about these?
Any help will be very much appreciated

Sorry to be a pain and keep posting but I fixed my issue by resetting my router and using a different Ethernet cable Smiley

Hope this helps someone

I had the same exact error on my 1st miner and changing ethernet cable worked for me too. I did not restart router.
I restarted my 1st miner countless times in the past. For 2nd miner, I have only restarted once. So, maybe i got lucky on my 2nd miner but I believe it worked for my first. Woodgiins had the same error and same solution as me. Why not just try it man. Cheap possible solution.

Anyways, if something comes up later from this, will update. Hopefully all goes well.
723  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 dead hash board repair needed on: December 21, 2017, 05:13:56 PM
Guys, changing ethernet cable from a right angled one to a normal one apparently brought my dead hashboard to life... Perhaps try that first?

This occurred on 2 of my miners lol, 2 hashboards total.
724  Bitcoin / Mining support / GUYS!! Changing ETHERNET cable = hashboards appeared.. occured twice on 2 miners on: December 21, 2017, 05:00:34 PM
To those suffering and unable to see their hashboards, consider changing your ethernet cable. Thanks to woodgiins https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2274299.20

I was using Ugreen right angled ethernet cable and I changed it to a normal one and guess wat, my hashboard appeared.

This happened on two occasions on 2 different antminers. I am surprised.. Try it perhaps?

These were the problems before on 2 different miners and all 3 hashboard work fine now Smiley
For the first pic, I updated firmware as well

This has worked for woodgins as well.

Guys, change your internet cable. I was using a right angled ugreen ethernet cable and I changed it to a normal non-right angled one and now, all hashboards work FINE!! Try it. It may work for u.

This worked for 2 of my antminers!!!!

Solution - Apparently changing the ethernet cable SOLVED IT!! All 3 boards appear now and I am surprised that this was the solution. I was using the Ugreen right angle rj45 from china. Not gonna use those anymore.

Guys, how long does bitmain usually reply to support tickets. My last reply was 24 hours ago and seems it shows last activity 12 hours ago. This means their customer service officer has seen it right? But no reply yet.

How long does it take usualy?
730  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Bitmain S9 with invalid subnet mask on: December 21, 2017, 07:31:43 AM
Nope, unfortunately it won't ask/get DHCP IP.

check this it might help you
https://enforum.bitmain.com/bbs/topics/3957

I never got this error be4 but doing the 3rd reset method creates a new ip for the miner. So, it should work.
731  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: December 21, 2017, 07:26:11 AM
Damn, I can't believe they sold out of S9 in less than a day. I was going to buy some but I didn't have enough time to get bch.

Was this unusual to sell out so fast? How long do Bitmain's batches of S9 usually last before selling out?

Now that Coinbase has enabled BCH, I think you'll see the batches sell out faster.  The last batch took a couple weeks at least.

Oh yea they'll definitely sell out much quicker now that BCH is much easier to get for us.

I also wanted to throw this out there, they do have a repair facility in California. It seems sketchy at first but I sent my L3+ hashboard to them and they shipped me a brand new hash board in 2 weeks. I thought it was actually pretty good service. Sucked that the hash board went out but still.

Wat was the problem with the hashboard?

Why do you guys think Adam Back is credible when he has been exposed as a liar multiple times about his contributions to the crypto world?

My first instinct when I hear his name is to not believe a word of what he says.

So, he isnt credible? Btcdrak, i googled some things and nt so good stuff are written in reddit, not by me though. I think he is anonymous and unknown in real life?? I am nt sayin halong is fake but it juz doesnt look real at the moment....
They should send a unit to some of our legendary btctalk members imo....clear up the air

Juz my 2 cents.
733  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: My 700 TH/s Bitcoin Farm, LEH, J&K,INDIA on: December 20, 2017, 08:56:57 PM
Architect here. What humidity level are you talking about - percentage wise.

The humidity level in IT rooms can range between 45 to 85%. This is ok. But ideally 40 to 50% should be the range to aim for. The problems normally arise when there is a rapid temperature drop. For example if temperature is hot and humidity is high and the temperature quickly falls, then moisture can drop out of the air and appear on hardware.

The question that might need to be asked is where the humidity is coming from. Miners don't sweat. I hope you don't have many people in the room. I suspect its outside air. Is the outside air being dumped into the farm unconditioned?

If the mechanical design for the farm is correctly designed then the HVAC would have an integrated dehumidifier.

Chances are it juz rained and then the sun comes out strongly. The air is hot and humid then.
The problem wif a dehumidifier is that it heats up the air.

Did anyone get a bitmain 500 USD coupon? I just got one.

Hi, with which order did you get the 500$ coupon? L3, D3 or S9 and which price batch???

Thank you in advance

It doesnt say why. Perhaps it is because 1 of my hashboard isnt working. I already tried their first step. Now, waiting for more news on how to fix.

Niiiiiice Smiley

i have 2 hashboards broken(not appearing in status page) on a D3 which i received 1 week ago.

Did you sent it back to china for repair or you just complained in their support page and tried the troubleshooting methods?

My 2 D3s are fine.

I bought 7 S9s so far in total. Only 1 has an issue with 1 hashboard. The rest are ok.
So far, I have done as their support instructed and the one hashboard still does not show. I am waiting for more answers from them on how to fix.
The sad part is that hashboard worked fine for awhile...and then it didnt Sad

Thanks for the info sandal_hat

Happy holidays
happy mining

Smiley

U too buddy Smiley

AND it is just a PR pitch.
Maybe - just maybe - they have Engineering samples to tinker with but that is a far cry from anything even close to production status.

Again it MUST be emphasized that 10nm miner chips are a long way off. As said elsewhere, the '10nm' chips used in the latest Galaxy and iPhones are cheaters - only memory cells are 10nm. Toss in that that these nodes are targeting mobile apps - read as low-power - what is possible with a chip pulling under 500mw is a helluva long way from one pulling 10W or more. Just as happened at 16/14nm ya know they are going to pack in as many cores as possible meaning many watts of power per-chip.

How long away are we talking about?

The russian distributor seems to have it up for sale cash on delivery? strange

http://market.newmining.ru/

Is it official distributor?

I will need the asian distributor.  Do distributors get it later or same time as main guy?
We cannot buy 1 or a few pieces direct, right

Did i see right? 210,000 rouble. Thats 3,500 usd for that distributor?
Is that in roubles? I am nt familliar with russian currency.
Do distributors mark up alot or is it around same price.

He needs to pay shipping and customs also

U mean distributor pays value added tax and when they ship to u, u pay value added tax again?? Is that right?

Canaan will not sell 1-2 pieces direct?

I don't think they ship outside russia anyway, but Canaans just made the announcment today without giving a price but they have the price.

I see. This way no double tax. But i guess those distributors that are in the same country as canaan can ship interationally too...no double tax after all.
