601  Other / Meta / Re: (PETITION) Fix the bitcoin price of Donator and VIP ranks to fiat. on: November 03, 2013, 03:27:11 AM
It's just a badge anyway.

And I don't think this is a good idea. In no area or forum on earth does the registration date and donor status tell so much about the user as here.

The VIPs, donors and hero members are going down in history and I'd say the uniqueness of this shall be preserved. Wink

The only idea that comes into my mind is to transform this into some kind of achievement system. Cheesy
602  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 50x ASICMINER direct shares (end: 2013-11-01 20:00 UTC) on: November 01, 2013, 11:33:41 PM
The auction is officially over and the participants are in contact with ThickAsThieves.

I'll leave you guys a positive feedback, when it's all settled.

Cheers! Smiley

CanaryInTheMine: leave me a PM and we can discuss further details, if you are interested. Though the escrow has already been initiated, so I'd need to make a new deal with TAT.
603  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 50x ASICMINER direct shares (end: 2013-11-01 20:00 UTC) on: November 01, 2013, 08:53:50 PM
Hmm... I read it as referring to "those two bids" and your action was related to them only.

"those two bids" was directed to you and Kouye, the remaining two potential bidders. It excluded stslimited's third bid, so to speak, because he already retreated.

Sorry for the confusion. Are you interested in the remaining 40 shares?
604  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 50x ASICMINER direct shares (end: 2013-11-01 20:00 UTC) on: November 01, 2013, 08:26:25 PM
???

Oh, I hope this was no missunderstanding. :/

As stated:

CanaryInTheMine's was completely outbidded by stslimited and Kouye's decision was based on previous bids.

I didn't preconceive such a scenario when I created the auction terms, so there is no basis to act upon and I offer to retract those two bids.

For the ease of the auction I consider those bids as no-bids and encourage all participants to place a new bid or to confirm the old bid, if desired.

You didn't confirm your bid, so I assumed that you are no longer interested. But if this is not the case, I can offer you the remaining 40 shares for 0.7 = 28 in total. Please confirm.
605  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 50x ASICMINER direct shares (end: 2013-11-01 20:00 UTC) on: November 01, 2013, 08:02:48 PM
Aaand the winners are:

Kouye
5 @ 0.7
souspeed
5 @ 0.7

Gratulations! Smiley

I informed ThickAsThieves, he should appear soon with further instructions.

Approximately two more hours to go:

Current highest bids:

607  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: November 01, 2013, 05:35:14 PM
Ken from ActM mentioned NRE costs of $1m for the structured ASIC from eASIC (which is like "half FPGA - half ASIC" and thus much cheaper), CoinTerra needs to raise $5m for their full custom 28nm ASIC, if I'm not mistaken..

If the NRE costs listed in the report are indeed for the 40 nm line, then it's only $210,119.50. It's low, but not too low that it's impossible to be for 40 nm.

609  Other / Meta / Request: marketplace subboard: domains on: November 01, 2013, 04:08:20 PM
There are quite a lot auctions for domains and most of them don't find a buyer, so this simply stuffes the auction subboard imho.

My suggestion is to create a new subboard for domains, domains with an actual website and traffic behind can stay in "auctions" though.

Have him sign a message with 1whiskrpGeZVd5ormX2ihifc9uB2YSz82 or some other address associated with the account.

He created back then a locked thread with his GPG key:

While Reddit, GitHub, Google and FB allow authentication via OAuth, this leaves bitcointalk.org alone. A possible solution is to generate one-time tokens which the user could put in his profile for a short time. The profile is easily scrapable, but I still see no simple way to fetch the user id solely based on an username.

Does each authentication offer a potential reward for the user or is he only allowed to redeem one?

Probably obvious in this context, but a friendly reminder:

I saw your previous trades. It seems to be an unfortunate situation for you, too and I'm very sorry on a personal level, if this is the case, but the "who is to blame" doesn't change the situation, because what's important is the "who takes the responsibility" and this is you, from my point of view. Furthermore I think the consequences and their actual degree have little to no relevance in this matter. I don't criticize the failure of being unable to secure enough coins, but the violation of a basic principle of an auction, namely not honoring binding bids. There is no groundwork to handle these things and also no body like the MPEx Rota (which was in theory a great idea), so the way I responded is, based on my opinion, appropriate. You are competetly free to agree or disgree and it's up to you what you do or not do and this also applies to anyone else. Please note that it's of course not my intention to create avoidable conflicts and I'm open to discuss this further.

Negative experience, violated willingly or unwillingly auction terms.

so the 48 hour thing is impossible since it'll take nearly 7 actual days to get the bitcoins

It is your responsibility to ensure that there are enough available funds before placing a bid. Honoring terms and conditions and the liability that comes with a bid are key principles for every auction, especially when time is critical and the value of goods is volatile. Your retreat has immediate and significant consequences and therefore I left you a negative trust rating, which I may revoke, if come up with an adequate compensation, and encourage others to do likewise.

This is very unfortunate now.

CanaryInTheMine's was completely outbidded by stslimited and Kouye's decision was based on previous bids.

All terms of the original post still apply.

Just a friendly reminder:

Custom Cooling Systems
We have been finalizing on our HK datacenter with our professional partner on immersion cooling. This product will be of interest both miners, and other industries that require cooling of similar hardware. Our cooling system partner built it as an exhibition house where everything is clean and shiny for investors/buyers to visit and for ASICMINER to make videos as a demonstration.

5. Cooling Update
We hope to share a good video or exhibition materials by the end of the month.

Too bad that it's phrased with "we hope". Embarrassed

I think the general impression is that creativex is reputable, but that does not necessarily mean much. I'm just wondering, why this doesn't make progress.

Please contact me, if you like to help and call him. I have his contact info.

Edit:

I'm in contact with damiano, he will keep us updated.
